Using T3 Services from EJB's

I want to use weblogic's T3Services from within stateless session beans. But when I try to do this I get the following error
java.rmi.RemoteException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/common/T3ServicesDef
and when I try to put \weblogic\classes in JAVA_CLASSPATH while starting weblogic the server does not start.
Is their a way of using these services from within EJB's
I am using weblogic 5.1.0 service pack 6 under WINNT environment with SP5
Thanks
Sohit

You have classpath problems. Please post the classpath and the weblogic
classpath that you are using to start the server. In particular, make
sure that your ejb-jar is not found in either of these.

  • Web service from ejb

    Hi All,
    I am new to java web services.
    I made web services from ejb with netbeans.
    I like only some people to have access to this services with user and pass stored in database.
    In other words I need authentication and authorization.
    How can I do this?
    Regards

    Well it depends also on application server you are using.
    It depends also on web service stack you are using.
    For example here is the hint for glassfish (Metro):

  • Calling Web Service from EJB using HTTP Client

    Hi,
    Scenario:
    I need to Call a Web Service from an EJB Application.I used HttpClient for calling the Web Service in the EJB Application. When i call the execute method of the HttpCLient it throws an exception
    The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>"
    The input XML does not have a node called META.
    When i call the Web Service using Http Client form an Java Application it is working fine.
    Kindly Suggest me the changes/steps that needs to be done
    Regards,

    Hi Manish,
    SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
    I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Anya.

  • Using Spring beans from EJB MDB

    I have a situation where I need to use spring beans from an EJB 3.0 MDB. The project does not have any webapps or anything,
    it will be only a MessageBean facade that needs to call spring beans. It is meant to be a service, that can be called by usign a single EJB message.
    The problem is I cannot get the spring context to load properly, since the MDBean it self is initialized(constructor called) only when it receives the first message from the broker, thus It's "too late" to initialize the spring context. What I want to do is load the spring context when the EJB is deployed in the Java EE container. So, is there a way I can call a some method, class, anything when the EJB is deployed in the container. Can I do something with a deployment descriptor?
    I am using glassfish V2 UR1, EJB 3.0, Spring 2.0.7 The project is deployed as a jar.

Spring's contract first web services are a very nice way to go. It hides the fact that you're using a message-driven component for processing, too.

  • Retrieve Portal Service from EJB

    Hi All,
    I am trying to use a custom Portal Service from an EJB application. I assume that I have to do the  JNDI lookup for the service since I can not use the usual "PortalRuntime" to get the service instance.
    Looking at the JNDI browser in the Visual Admin, I can't seem to find it. I have seen some code snippets on SDN for UWLService  where lookup is done via "/broker/services/XXXX.KEY"
    Any insight?

  • Error while using external service from application service

    Hello All,
    I have exposed webservice from a CAF project that i am importing as external service in another CAF project. Now i am using application service to directly call the external service. following is the code in my application service:

                          retValue.setCountryName(result.getNs6_Response().getNs3_countryName());
                     }catch(Exception e){
                          throw new ServiceException(e);
    I am getting the following error
    ERROR. Problem in server response: [Bad Request].:
    What could be the problem ? Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Ashutosh Rastogi

    Hello,
    It's always a good idea to check the log file. In many cases you find hints what the reason for the error could be. The log file can be found here: <root>usrsap<SID>JC30j2eeclusterserver0logdefaultTrace.<xy>.trc where <root> is probably c:, SID something like F33, F41, ... and <xy> a number 0, 1, .... -> the highest number is the last and therefore most youngest log file. Please check out this file.
    Another very common (but trivial) error is that you forgot to specify the URL and the end point location of your Web Service in CAF's config tool. This tutorial explains this beginning on page 20 <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/11669cea-0c01-0010-63b2-b98c35b1b370">Using a Web Service as External Service</a>.

  • OAS and using JDBC-drivers from EJB

    Hi.
    I have a problem with accessing the database from EJB-components
    deployed to OAS 4.0.8. The database is 8.1.5-version. I'm trying
    to use a connection exactly like it is documented in OAS-EJB-
    documents, the connection string looks like this:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
    ("jdbc:oracle:jts8:@ora8i");
    And this is the error that above sentence it generates:
    "Sub Protocol must be specified in connection URL".
    The DAD(ora8i) is created in OAS.
    Now, I don't even know if this uses JDBC/OCI or thin since the
    documented connection-string doesn't contain that information. I
    quess it must use OCI-drivers, at least I should use them and
    they should be installed with OAS.
    So:
    * I should use only jts-enabled JDBC-drivers when developing EJB-
    components, is this right?
    * How can I connect to the database (from OAS 4.0.8 to Oracle
    8i), the string please?
    Thanks,

  • Creating Web Services From EJBs In WorkShop

    Is there a way to create webservices by exposing local stateless session jbs from
    within Workshop 8.1? I have read BEA documentation that states that you should
    use the ant task to do this. I find this rather inconvenient that I had to run
    an additional ant build file outside of the one generated by Workshop (along with
    another ant script I had to write in order to get javadocs to look somewhat readable
    by excluding the weblogic generated classes.)
    What is the best solution path to take when I want to expose a few stateless session
    ejbs via webservices for a .NET client application?

    You're right. More expert them I am I guess. :) I should have gone through the
    workshop help guide in more detail.
    Thanks

    I may have misunderstood as I'm not an expert, but don't you just

  • Is there any script in S1AS which generates Web services from ejbs in jar?

    I'm porting a J2EE app from WebLogic to S1AS7. The ISV uses Ant/XDoclet to do some code generation and build. One of targets in the build scripts is to take as input an EJB JAR file and create all the needed web service components and package them into a deployable EAR file using WebLogic's servicegen Ant task
    (http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/assemble.html#1052126).
    Is there anything similar in S1AS?
    A quick response is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kishore

    We had looked into doing something similar, and this post is the closest we found.
    https://community.qualys.com/thread/11816
    Basically you will need a middle-man between Qualys and ConfigMgr to house the data. This may be a new database, or a whole seperate platform. I expect this could easily be done with SQL and SSRS.
    Also note, database edits to the ConfigMgr database are
    not supported  by Microsoft, I would recommend using a central system to pull data from Qualys and ConfigMgr without modifying either.

  • SocketTimeout Exception while calling a Web Service from EJB

    Hi All,
    I am consuming a Web Service defined from the WSDL received from a PI system
    in a Stateless EJB.
    The input of the Service can be a range of records 100 - 10,000, with a furture plan to exceed the range as 100 - 15,000.
    The Web Service Call goes perfect with 100 - 3500 number of records.
    As the number of records exceed 3500, we started getting the following exception:
    Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
    Along with a call happenning to the PI system after some seconds.
    Referring to various help.sap.com pages, I came across the following code snippet:
    client._setProperty("socketTimeOut","200000");
    This thing works great!!!, and now we have set the the socketTimeout proggramatically to a satisfactory level which supports the current requirement.
    I would like to know, if we can tune some Visual Administrator Parameter for this, instead of maintaining the "Socket TimeOut" in the code.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Alka.
    Edited by: Alka Panday on Apr 23, 2008 9:17 AM

    Hi Alka,
    Please refer to SAP Note 962114. This is specifically for Web Service clients.
    Description-->
    This note can be applied for 6.40 SP 12+. If the customer has a lower SP, an upgrade of the whole engine is recommended. The other alternative to set the timeout is to set it programmatically.
    If running a 7.0 installation, the functionality has been integrated in SP8 onwards
    When you go to the Visual Administrator -> Server -> Services -> Web Services Container on the Settings tab page you should be able to see the socket timeout input field next to the HTTP Proxy settings. You can change the default value there and it will be automatically applied to all WS client proxies and logical ports deployed on the system.
    Hope this helps.
    regards,
    Piyush

  • Invoking a Web Service from EJB

    Hi
    I need to invoke a web serice from existing EJB(stateless session bean) deployed
    in J2EE SDK 1.3.1.
    I have downloaded Java WSDP but I have no idea where to start.
    Can any one briefly explain to me how to do this ?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    look in the tutorial from the JWSDP under 'Java API for XML-based RPC' there is a section 'JAX-RPC on the J2EE SDK 1.3.1'. There is explained how to setup the the j2ee server for web services. It is the easiest way to learn it.

  • Using Web Service from LiveCycle PDF Dynamic Form.

    I have developed Staff Attendance Sheet about 7 years ago using Microsoft Office Web Componenets Data Access Pages (OWC DAP).
    See image below of the current report using OWC DAP:
    http://bit.ly/cAfeYs
    Since we are moving our legacy systems to SAP, this report will have to be re-implemented using Adobe LiveCycle PDF which is connecting to Web Service over SAP Systems (since OWC does not connect to Web Service).
    The SAP development team have developed the initial webservice which generates the required data.
    I have developed the initial version of the LiveCycle PDF, which can be downloaded from this link:
    http://bit.ly/9KBgm0
    The following is a screen snapshot of the LC Desinger Form:http://bit.ly/cxMK62
    When the web service is executed from inside PDF the result looks as follows:
    http://bit.ly/cacbCg
    The webservice accepts the following required parameters:
    1. Period: YYYYMM. User Specified Value.
    2. Staff ID: 9999999. It must be supplied automatcially to the web service and it must be the Windows ID of the User Logged In to Windows
    Domain.
    Other parameters are optional.
    Assumptions:
    ==========
    1. I am not using any Adobe Forms Server Technology. I can use LiveCycle Desinger ES2 and LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server.
    2. I can alse develop using .NET to get the Logged In User ID (Windows), generate the XDP from ASPX Page and attach the XML to the XDP.
    3. We are using IE8 with Adobe Reader 9 Plugin (IE add-on) to display LiveCycle PDF inside IE.
    Questions:
    ========
    1. First time the webservice is executed, I will get a prompt to allow/deny execution of the webservice. This is a security issue here, becuase we do not want any user to know the link to the Web Service. How we can hide the link to the webservice and prevent any user from getting the link ?
    2. How I can stop the Prompt to Allow/Deny execution to the Web Service for good ? As you know, users will get confused, and when we launch this PDF, it will generate a lot of calls to the Service Desk (more than 1000 users).
    3. The Web Service uses Simple User Name/Password for authentication to run the webservice. I need to embed the User Name/Password inside
    the PDF, and also prevent any user for getting them, how ?
    4. I want to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Web Service Automatically which is the Logged In User ID (Windows). This is the same value of the "Login Name" which can be accessed using Acrobat JavaScript. But the problem, this script must be trusted, and it will be a long story. Any ideas how to implement this requirement using simple methods ?
    5. If I manage to send the Staff ID Parameter to the Webservice automatically (Logged In User ID), also, I want to prevent the user from sending a different user ID, ie, prevent him from using Import Data to Form to specify a Different User ID for the Webservice Parameter. How ?
    I appreciate your help if you have any ideas about the above.
    Tarek.

    Hi Tarek,
    First of all, Thank for your replying.
    I have developing Adobe LiveCycle xdp form with a button. The SAP Web Service will be called when the button is pressed.
    Before that, I ‘m able to call another ASP.NET web services by using SOAP.request call. However, when I apply the code to call SAP web service, it doesn’t work. I checked that the web service is valid. And I found that there is something wrong when implementing the SOAP.request call. But I have no idea what wrong is it. So, I beg your help
    The following is the code in the click event of the button:
    //mainData.sfMain.Button7[1]::click - (JavaScript, client)
        var webServiceEndPoint = "http://xxxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DEDB492BB032E7F1B09F001CC4FBCEC9/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?s ap-client=300";
        var staffIDInput = "9999999";
        var oAuthenticator = {
        Username: "usr",
        Password: "pw"
    app.alert("1");
        var response = SOAP.request({
           bEncoded: false,

             cAction: "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions",

  • Using COM component from EJB

    Hi,
    I'd like to use a third party COM component from. I know JIntegra and such tools but I'd like to use a non-commercial software as I need it for my diploma thesis.
    Did anyone ever manage to call an ActiveX/COM component from an EJB. I mean a third party component, not a self developed one.
    Could I use M$ specific classes in my EJB or do they rule out each other?
    Any working example?

    Did you really manage to use third party DLLs with EZJCOM?
    Would be great if you could clarify this to me:
    If I would use M$ specific classes to have a Java / COM - communication then I would
    have to use M$ JVM, right?
    But if I use that VM, I can not use my classes within the J2EE / EJB environment as this
    requires Sun's JVM, right?
    So, if I use EZJCOM for that than I do not have to use any M$ specific stuff, right?
    Unfortunately, I did not get any further yet. The product I'd like to use is Lindo.
    I have the DLL, but trying to use it with EZJCOM it says: No COM interface definition.
    No tlb is given either. There's a JAR package with classes that seem to use JNI to call
    DLL functions, so maybe it does not provide a COM interface.
    But that means I would have to build my own (maybe VB) ActiveX DLL that calls all the funtions
    in the Lindo DLL. But that would keep me busy for weeks I guess :-(
    As I need it for my diploma thesis, I can not spend a lot of time building ActiveX components.
