BR,
rashad.

Are you compiling it with right versions of oimclient and other supporting jars? You don't need xlAPI.jar to compile your adapter class but just the following jars. Copy these jars from the server to make sure that the version is correct.

  • Can I use external APIs to authenticate users?

    I have been asked to develop a lightswitch application either as desktop client or HTML client. Now I am confused about the authentication
    mechanism in LightSwitch, and it leads a question: Can I authenticate my users from an external website or application?
    For the HTML client, I have been thinking that whether I could use external APIs like Facebook Login API to authenticate my users? If I could, the code should be JavaScript, then where should I put it, and how can I configure my LS application?
    For the desktop client, same question, if I could identify my users by pulling some user information from an external website, what kind of code/Programming Language shall I use?

    Hey ConnorTx!
    This is not supported out of the box.
    For in-browser desktop applications, you can hack around this by setting up the social media credentials, then redirecting to your desktop application while passing the self-encrypted credentials.  I explained this workaround in
    this article.
    I don't have enough production experience with HTML apps yet.  However when you use Forms authentication, I suspect you can simply fill in the IPrincipal on the HttpContext.Current, then redirect to your HTML app, and the LightSwitch Forms Auth mechanism
    would pick up your principal as valid credentials.  I wish I had time to show you some code for this, would make a great blog post :/
    Keep rocking LS!

  • How to get permission of a sharepoint list for a user using REST api

    Hi there,
    I have a requirement where i need to check the access permission of a user against a List or Library only using REST api from my remote salesforce app. [I already have access token and I am able to view list, add item etc..]
    Say for example, I have to send the list name and user name, and get the result as Read, Write, Contribute(Manage), None. I need to display what permission does that user have for that List.
    How do I achieve this. Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    For High and low bits, we can create a new SP.BasePermissions object to use like below:
    function success(data){
    var permissions = new SP.BasePermissions();
    permissions.set(SP.PermissionKind.manageLists);
    var hasPermission = permissions.hasPermissions(data.d.EffectiveBasePermissions.High, data.d.EffectiveBasePermissions.Low);
    Here is a detailed article for your reference:

  • Error -5002 when adding linked user defined field using DI API

    Hello,
    When I try to add a linked user defined field using DI API I get the error number -5002 with description:
    "The field 'Related Table' should consist of 8 alphanumeric characters with no valid or default values"
    I Get the error when I use the Add method.
    What is the solution for this problem? I use SBO 2005 A SP1 Patch 18
    The code I use is (.NET C# 2.0):
    SAPbobsCOM.IUserFieldsMD uf = (SAPbobsCOM.IUserFieldsMD)company.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserFields);
    uf.Name = "S_BUCO";
    uf.TableName = "OPOR";
    uf.Type = SAPbobsCOM.BoFieldTypes.db_Memo;
    uf.SubType = SAPbobsCOM.BoFldSubTypes.st_Link;
    uf.LinkedTable = "S_BU";
    uf.Description = "Description";
    uf.Add()
    Regards,
    Jeffrey

    Hi Jeffrey,
    Your code above does not match the settings you are using in the UI. In particular, the type and subtype you are setting in code are not correct.
    To create the UDF via code, set the field types as follows:
    SAPbobsCOM.IUserFieldsMD uf = (SAPbobsCOM.IUserFieldsMD)company.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserFields);
    uf.Name = "S_BUCO";
    uf.TableName = "OPOR";
    uf.Type = SAPbobsCOM.BoFieldTypes.db_Alpha;
    uf.EditSize = 8;
    uf.LinkedTable = "S_BU";
    uf.Description = "Description";
    uf.Add()
    There's no need to set the SubType property as you require a regular alphanumeric field.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

    Hi,
    Per my understanding, you might want to add an user to a SharePoint group in host web from a SharePoint Hosted App using REST API.
    Here is a working demo for your reference:
    var hostweburl;
    var appweburl;
    $(document).ready(function () {
    //Get the URI decoded URLs.
    hostweburl = decodeURIComponent(getQueryStringParameter("SPHostUrl"));
    appweburl = decodeURIComponent(getQueryStringParameter("SPAppWebUrl"));
    // Resources are in URLs in the form:
    // web_url/_layouts/15/resource
    var scriptbase = hostweburl + "/_layouts/15/";
    // SP.RequestExecutor.js to make cross-domain requests
    $.getScript(scriptbase + "SP.RequestExecutor.js", loadPage);
    // Utilities
    // Retrieve a query string value.
    // For production purposes you may want to use a library to handle the query string.
    function getQueryStringParameter(paramToRetrieve)
    var params = document.URL.split("?")[1].split("&");
    for (var i = 0; i < params.length; i = i + 1)
    var singleParam = params[i].split("=");
    if (singleParam[0] == paramToRetrieve) return singleParam[1];
    function addUsersInGroup() {
    var executor;
    // Initialize the RequestExecutor with the app web URL.
    executor = new SP.RequestExecutor(appweburl);
    executor.executeAsync({
    url: appweburl + "/_api/SP.AppContextSite(@target)/web/sitegroups(8)/users?@target='" + hostweburl + "'",
    method: "POST",
    contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
    dataType: 'json',
    body: "{'__metadata': { 'type': 'SP.User' },'LoginName':'i:0#.f|membership|[email protected]'}",
    headers: {
    "Accept": "application/json; odata=verbose",
    "content-type": "application/json;odata=verbose",
    "X-RequestDigest":$("#__REQUESTDIGEST").val()
    success: addUsersInGroupSuccessHandler,
    error: addUsersInGroupErrorHandler
    function addUsersInGroupSuccessHandler(data)
    console.log(data);
    var jsonObject = JSON.parse(data.body);
    console.log(jsonObject);
    function addUsersInGroupErrorHandler(data)
    console.log(data);
    var jsonObject = JSON.parse(data.body);
    console.log(jsonObject);

  • Using KM APIs with Anonymous user

    Dear SDNites,
    I have gone thorough one of the SAP notes on possible CM scenarios with anonymous users. It says the the supported scenarios are Search, browse and download.
    My question is that can we use KM apis in these areas with anonymous users?  I got some documentation on KM Indexmanagement APIs for searching with TREX, which requires authenticated user. I am wondering is there any way to use those APIs with anonymous user access.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi Pavan,
    if you access the KM via Web Service you'll find parameters in each service to send username and password.
    If you browse the KM reposiroties via http you may need to do an authentication first. If your portal accepts basic authentication (as it does by default) you may call the KM explorer iView with some URL like:
    http://<username>:<password>@<hostname>.<domain>:<port>/<path to KM iView>
    If this does not work, maybe you need to use a client that supports basic authentication (digest). This may be e.g. the OpenSourcer library [HttpClient|http://hc.apache.org/] from the Apache project.
    See [RFC2617|http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2617.html] for more details on Basic Authentication and Basic Authentication (digest).
    If you have some more questions, please come back.

    For this Initially I need to get the logged user ID using UME API.
    Can you drop the code to write and display using JSP Dynpages?

    Hi,
    Try the below code
    IUserFactory userfact=UMFactory.getUserFactory();
    IUser user=userfact.getUserByUniqueName(request.getUser().getUserId());
    String usrid=user.getUniqueName();
    And also you can get the groups assigned to user by using the below code
    Iterator groups = user.getParentGroups(true);
    while (groups.hasNext()) {
         String groupstr = (String) groups.next();
         IGroup g = UMFactory.getGroupFactory().getGroup(groupstr);

  • What role is required to 'nominate' a user using BPM API's?

    I see an exception while nominating a user using SAP API's. Log as below:
    Caused by: com.sap.bpem.tm.exception.InvalidAuthorizationException: User Test1 is not allowed to perform action NOMINATE on task 3v67h898881811e4bae5000000ddc0f1
    Nominate works fine if the user is assigned "Administrator" role. Is there an alternative role which can be assigned as we cannot give end user admin access.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Vidya

    There is a standard user 'SAP_BPM_Service'. You can assign the 'SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin' role to perform all possible actions related to BPM.
    what you are trying to do is nominate a user for a particular task For this, you will have to assign roles to the person who is currently logged-in. So standard user does not come into picture.
    Refer this link for details of Task Delegation.
    Refer this link for all possible roles and authorizations related to BPM processes and tasks.
    API or no API, assign 'SAP_BPM_SuperAdmin' to the user.

  • GetSelectedFields()  for time stamp and user stamp using java api

    using Java API's
    getSelectedFields() returns NULL  value if values presented also, for Time stamp and User stamp
    properties in Flat tables , is there any other alternative way to get the SelectedFields values ?
    Edited by: Vijaya Sekhar Reddy Alla on Mar 19, 2008 3:16 PM

    Well, I can't say I solved the problem, because I got another one afterwards.
    As usually I created a GetFieldListCommand, set its needed attributes and executed it. Then I read all the field properties out:
    FieldProperties[] fieldProp = getFieldListCommand.getFields();
    Afterwards it is possible to do what you want. Using a for-loop.
    for (FieldProperties fp : fieldProperties) {
        UserStampFieldProperties usfp = (UserStampFieldProperties) fp; // <= Cast error
        FieldId[] fieldIDs = usfp.getSelectedFields();
    And this is what I get now:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sap.mdm.schema.fields.FixedWidthTextFieldProperties cannot be cast to com.sap.mdm.schema.fields.UserStampFieldProperties
    Why this happens, I don't know. But it should somehow be solveable.

  • Using User Management Engine API in Portal Application

    Hello,
    I actually develope a simple Portal Application, which print any User-Infos. Especially I need the date of the last Login. For this purpose I read the Article Using User Management Engine API - Portal - SAP Library where they use the library com.sap.security.api. In the articel they describe also, how to set DC dependencies. But this doesn't function for a Portal Component, because they do not appear in the Component Browser.
    So my question is, how get I the User Management Engine API referenced in my Portal Application, so that I can use the package com.sap.security.api. In the filesystem I can not find a JAR-File for the Development Componenten tc/je/usermanagement/api
    Greetings,
    Thomas

    HI,
    Getting the last logon date can be a small problem. There is a method called: getLastSuccessfulLogonDate, but that one is deprecated since NW 2004s.
    https://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/se/com/sap/security/api/IUserAccount.html#getLastSuccessfulLogonDate()
    In NW 7.3 the method is still there: Generated Documentation (Untitled), but even so, JavaDoc states that the value is not updated automatically
    "get last sucessful logon date NOTE: This attribute is not automatically updated during login."
