Uxterm doesn't show utf-8 right-arrow

In uxterm, I use a C program to print my remaining battery to zsh's $RPROMPT. One of the characters used is a utf-8 right arrow, code point U+2192. I am using the Terminus font. At the console, I can see the arrows. Could my uxterm be messed up? What lightweight alternative terminals could I use that would work better?

Try urxvt (rxvt-unicode package).
EDIT: I've just checked, it works for me, at least the echoing. Tested both in urxvt and in uxterm:

    When logging in to Windows 8.1 the eye symbol and right arrow symbol have been displayed until (I guess so) after an automatic Windows Update . As I was planning to migrate to Windows 10 I didn't invest much investigation into this problem. Now, after successful migration to Windows 10 Home the problem still exists. After typing the password I can't verify it because the eye symbol is still missing and for entering I have to press "Enter" due to the missing clickable right arrow. All this happens with a Microsoft online Account. I established a local account and with this, the eye symbol but not the right arrow reappeared. Many thanks for helping.

I am happy to help. It really depends on which version of the Operating system you are running, because this sort of thing is normally controlled using the Group Policy Editor.     Reboot your computer. In iTunes go to View menu. Does it say Hide Sidebar? If it does look the iPhone in the left sidebar in iTunes.
    If it says Show Sidebar and you still don't see the iPhone on the upper right try choosing Show Sidebar and look on the left.

    If a page you go to opens in a new tab, there is no 'back' to go to. If that is the case, just close the tab and you'll be at the page you came from.

    Hi, the new monitors of pc are wide screens, the high is less than wide. I will need to put the tabs of the open pdfs at right or left side of the view-screen. I don't like to reduce the high of  the view-screen. The toolbars are easy to doc (place) at right or left side of the view-screen. Have you got any solution ?
    Farther more, when I read only one pdf, I don't like to view a single tab. I think, it is too much and the view-screen is reduced without any reason.
    I use the Adobe Reader version 9.1.4 under of ubuntu 10.10 (maverik) kernel 2.6.35-24-generic.

    You could use the "Panorama/Group Tabs" ([[What are Tab Groups?]]) feature to sort your tabs into different groups in order to have the more organized. For the most frequently used sites you can use "AppTabs"([[What are App Tabs?)]] Or you could simply close some of the rarely used tabs (Maybe save them as a Bookmark ([[How do I use bookmarks?]]) to find them again later).
    But this doesn't really solve the problem. First I have to ask if you are using "Tabs on top"? (On the menu bar, click on the View menu, go down to Toolbars and tell me whether "Tabs on Top" is checked or not). Then: How many tabs do you have? Firefox does only show the vertical scrolling arrows when they are needed. How many tabs you can have without the arrows appearing depends on the width of your window, so could you please make a screenshot of your Firefox window and upload it here? If you don't know how to take screenshots: [[Adding screenshots]] (just follow steps 2 to 8) and then add it blow your post . :)

And no install discs. I get buy on eBay Restore discs but I think the OS id 9.0? Specs: MAC OS X 10.4.11, BUILD 8S165, S/N# XB**********S, Power PC G4 1.5 GHZ.

    It would block usage of all the startup keys, like C, N, T, D, CMD+s, CMD+Option+p+r, CMD +v, Option boot will show a lock, and Shift, as well as booting from anything but the Hard Drive.
    Force Removing Password Protection
    1) Add or remove DIMMs to change the total amount of RAM in the computer.
    2) Then, the PRAM must be reset 3 times. (Command + Option + P + R).

    In 2004 eveything works fine but in 2005 i have the problem that the matrix on my form doesn't show a row. The columns of the matrix are binded to a datasource. I have done this by using an .srf file (see below).

    Hello Christian,
    What PL B1 do you use? Since there since some problem with PL10 (already lots of discussion). If you are using PL10, please upgrade to PL11.
    Otherwise, my suggestion is to add a blank row first, to make sure the basic function is all right. And then try to double check your DBDatasource value and databinding.

  • Using cmd-shift-left/right arrows in Terminal

    Hi,
    Is there a way to revert to Leopard's shortcuts for switching tabs in Terminal?
    I'm working on a daily basis with both Leopard and Snow Leopard and the fact that I have to use cmd-shift-left/right in the former (which is coherent with Safari) and cmd-left/right in the latter (which is coherent with I wonder what?) is extremely annoying.
    I tried using System Preferences Keyboard pane to assign the shortcut to no avail, but it doesn't seem to work at all.
    BTW, I really don't understand why Apple changed this shortcut. As with any application, changing shortcuts is not really considerate for end users ;P

    I don't know why you have command+left or right arrow for tab switching. i have command+shift +left or right arrow. running 10.6.2 here. also, the other shortcuts for this that show up in the window menu are command+} and command+{. those can be also be changed in keyboard system preferences. that should have worked for you. i can do it without problems. but I suggest you reset your terminal preference file. that should restore teh default shortcuts. quit terminal and delete the file ~/library/preferences/com.apple.terminal.plist. start terminal and the shortcuts should be commandshiftarrows.

  • Right Arrow Key Dead

    Recently I've noticed my right arrow key is no longer working. I also have a USB keyboard and all works fine so on that so I assume this is a hardware failure.
    Am I going to need a whole new keyboard, or is it possible to repair the one key?
    Does anyone know of any issues or common faults to check before I make enquiries on a new keyboard?

    Are you under warranty? If so, it is Apple's problem. If not, it's possible a little debris has collected under the keycap and is causing the key to malfunction. It should be possible to pull off the keycap and check. I have done this on my iBook, but never on my MBP. If you have access to an Apple Store, you could see if someone at the genius bar could show you how to remove the keycap and check under it.
    Testing with an external USB keyboard is exactly the right thing to do. It demonstrates that the problem lies with the built in keyboard.
    Are you planning to do the work yourself? If so, here is a site that might be useful to you:

    It doesn't cover everything, but you can at least get an idea of what might be involved in a repair. But again, if you're under warranty, let Apple do it.
