Validate XML using schema

Hi,
I want to validate a xml from a schema (xsd). Can I uses a parser (any parser - xerces perhaps) and read the xsd into a String and then pass that string object to the parser?
So instead of this:
SAXBuilder builder = new SAXBuilder("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser", true);
builder.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",
true);
builder.setProperty("http://apache.org/xml/properties/schema"
+ "/external-noNamespaceSchemaLocation",
LOCATION OF XSD);
Can I replace "LOCATION OF XSD" with a String argument that represents the contents of the XSD instead of the location to the xsd?

A Schema validator could be used to validate your xml with a schema.
TIBCO XMLValidate is a schema validator.

Validate XML using XSD (XML Schema)

Hi experts.
Is there any way in ABAP to validate XML file against specified XSD file?
I found only possibility to validate against DTD, but no XSD. As far as I know this is only possible in Java, or is a part of XI. Is it doable without Java or XI (on NetWeaver 2004s)?
Help appreciated (and rewarded).

I tried to move all the xml, class and xsd files in the same folder and it still didn't work...

How to validate XML using java_xml_pack-summer-02?

In jaxp1.1, we validate the xml file in this way:
c:\java -jar Validator.jar myBookStore.xml
However, in java_xml_pack-summer-02, which is latest version of jaxp, the Validator.jar is not available. So, how to validate xml file?

Help: How to Validate XML using SAXParser and return the entire error list

I have a problem, I'm trying to validate a xml document against the DTD. Here Im using SAXParser and having the ErrorHandler object passed when setting the error Handler, like parser.setErrorHandler(errorHandlerObj).
I need an output like where the entire XML document is read and all the errors have to be reported with the line number.
like example:
<b>Line 6: <promp>
[Error]:Element type "promp" must be declared.
Line 8: </prompt>
[Fatal Error]:The end-tag for element type "promp" must end with a '>' delimiter.
who can i achieve this.</b>
what happens with the present code is that it throws the first error it encountered and comes out.

Help! Failed to validate XML using setDocType on DOMParser

Hi all:
I am trying to use an existing DTD to parse
an XML file, and I am using the setDocType
method on the DOM parser to do this:
DOMParser parser = new DOMParser();
parser.setValidationMode(true);
parser.setDoctype(dtd);
parser.parse(reader); // reader contains XML stream
But it does not seems to validate the XML
document correctly. For example, if I have
an element Graph defined as:
<!ELEMENT Graph (Background,Title) >
In my XML, if I define Title element to come before the Background element, it does not give me any error:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Graph>
<Title>.....
<Background>....
</Graph>
It does catches other errors like undeclared attributes, however.
Anyone knows what might have cause this?

More question on validating XML using schema on Xerces

I have read previous posts. It seems that the XML file is validated before it is parsed to document.
However, im my implementation, I need to modify the DOM tree, and i need to validate it when I append child to the current DOM tree. How can I achieve this?

Dynamic voalidation is only supported by a DOM 3 Validation specification implementation.

Undigesting XML with Schema and Rules

We currently use a Digester with schema and rules files to digest an input XML and automatically build our Java objects. What I'd like to know is if there is a REVERSE process? Is there any class or utility that can take those Java objects and build an XML file?

Ask Microsoft why IE6 does not validate. Normally server-side developers do
not rely on a browser to validate XML against schema or DTD but validate XML
on the server. The same is true for XSLT transformations...

I want to validate XML Document using XML Schema...
does any body have an idea how to do it.
Every time i m running my java file by using different XML FILE AND XSD FILE in command line i m getting same error.

Validating xml doc using schema

I was wondering if you can the following validation of an xml document using schema:
<parent>
    <child>Jogn</child>
    <child>Hanna</child>
    <child>Blake</child>
    <childCount>3</childCount>
<parent>the childcountValue equals the number of child node. is this possible using
schema or do do i have to use an application to do this?

thanx dvohra, but i already know how to validate schema using a parser.
I'm looking for a way in the schema that specified thhat the total number of child elemnt equals to the integer value of the childTotal element. I don't even know if this is possible. If possible, what (tag) would i use. i don't need answer..hint would be nice.
my other solution is to write an application that use a SAX parser to parse the xml doc. Although this is relatively easy, i would like to keep the validation within on file (the schema)..rather than have it be in the schema and a ContentHandler.
