Value mapping in xslt mapping
Hi,
I have 2 mapping program one is main .xsl program and other one is value mapping program .xsl .
I have zipped both the program and imported into Imported archive in IR but while testing in interface mapping i am getting error.
error:could not compile xslt stylsheet.
Some of the interface having one .xsl program and value mapping is also defined in the main program itself,these interface i am able to execute successfully but unable to execute wherever there are 2 program (main prog + value mapping).
It seems that value mapping is not loading / executing.
Can anyone please guide me how to call value mapping using xslt mapping?
Thanks,
Subbu
Hi Prateek,
Thanks for the response.
Yes i have 2 program and both needs to execute in one interface mapping.
First program (main) is MappingMOAPS_SAVEMULTIPLE2013.xsl and second program i.e (value mapping) MO_vmf.xsl.
From main program itself value mapping program is called.
Please look below code for main & value mapping prog.
In main prog this is the parameter (<xsl:import href="MO_vmf.xslt"/>) where value mapping prog name is mentioned.
I have already zipped and imported but while testing in interface mapping it is giving error that "could not compile xslt stylsheet".
Could you plaese tell how to check or make XSL to accommodate multiple mappings?

How to call Java Map in XSLT map
Hello,
Can anyone tell me how to call Java Map in XSLT map.
Thanks and Regards
HemantHello, Vijay,
Can you help in understanding how can we pass whole payload in the parameter in XSLT map.....
for eg
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:javamap="java:DATEandTIME.Date_Time">
<xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/>
<xsl:param name="inputparam" />
<xsl:template match="/">
<MT_TARGET>
<date>
<xsl:if test="function-available('javamap:getDateValue')">
<xsl:value-of select="javamap:getDateValue($inputparam)"/> </xsl:if>
</date>
<time>
<xsl:if test="function-available('javamap:getTimeValue')">
<xsl:value-of select="javamap:getTimeValue($inputparam)"/> <xsl:value-of select="$test"/>
</xsl:if>
</time>
<project>
<xsl:value-of select= "//project"/>
</project>
</MT_TARGET>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
here we are passing static value in parameter.....
Java code is:
private static AbstractTrace trace = null;
public static String getDateValue(Map inputparam)
trace = (AbstractTrace)inputparam.get(
StreamTransformationConstants.MAPPING_TRACE );
Date now1 = new Date();
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("yyyyMMd");
String dateString = formatter.format(now1);
return dateString;
public static String getTimeValue(Map inputparam)
trace = (AbstractTrace)inputparam.get(
StreamTransformationConstants.MAPPING_TRACE );
Date now1 = new Date();
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("hhmmss");
String dateString1 = formatter.format(now1);
return dateString1;
I want to pass whole payload so how can i pass it. -

Value Mapping using XSLT mapping
Hello All,
We have change requirement of storing some xsl Key-Value in SAP PI and on run time existing XSLT mapping need to look that values and in target structure map the value as per source key value.
For this requirement i am going with value mapping that will call from XSLT mapping and created a test scenario before actual changes in XSLT mapping
I have created table in ID.
But unfortunately i am getting below error :
Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT Test_Mapping.xsl; details: Could not load stylesheet.com.sap.engine.lib.xsl.xpath.XPathException: Prefix not mapped: ValueMap -> java.lang.Exception: XMLParser: Prefix 'ValueMap' is not mapped to a namespace
Below is my XSLT mapping code :
<?xml version='1.0' encoding="UTF-8"?>

Graphical Mapping Vs XSLT mapping Vs Java Mapping Vs ABAP Mapping
Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding different message mapping options available in XI namely
Graphical Mapping
XSLT mapping
Java Mapping
ABAP Mapping
Q1: Which amoung the above mappings is the best and why?
Q2: On what cases Graphical, XSLT, Java and ABAP Mapping should be used?
Q3: Is it true that graphical and XSLT mappings are converted into Java class internally?
Kindly help!
Thanks

gopalkrishna baligaHi,
There is no hard and fast rule for using the mapping techniques.
Graphical Mapping is used for simple mapping cases. When, the logic for your mapping is simple and straight forward and it does not involve mult hiearchical mapping requirement. and context handling.
Java and XSLT mapping are used when graphical mapping cannot help you.
When the choice is between Java And XSLT, XSLT is simpler than java mapping and easier. But, it has its drawbacks. XSLT can lead to a bad perfrormance if the Source XML is huge.
Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
For further info on each of the mapping, refer to these links,

Am not sure about XSLT , but , yes graphical mapping is converted into java classes internally and these classes use SAX parsing as well.

XsLT Map Err or Fle Err??!!!
Hey,
I have a problem with xslt mapping in one of my scenario... ( I dnt knw whether its a problem with xslt or file adapters)
At high level my scenario its a file to file, here I'm sending my source structure to target structure ( file 2 file) and now the problem is....
I'm trying to write a file in target side, but its creating file with blank values...( I tried in Interface mapping for testing my mappingm, there its working properly),
what would be the problem?
Is this mapping error with xslt or file adapters error.Dear Stallin Xavier,
It is mapping error (XSLT Mapping ), Kindly test the Message Mapping in IR with the test data.This kind of error I have come acrossed offenly.
Kindly let me know any clarifications.

XSLT Mapping :-- End to End Scenario
Can any one provide XSLT Mapping End to End scenario with screen shots?
HI
XSLT Mapping
XSLT stands for EXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformations. It is an XML based language for transforming XML documents into any other formats suitable for browser to display, on the basis of set of well-defined rules.
Using XSLT mapping in a ccBPM scenario
File to Multiple IDocs (XSLT Mapping)
Steps required for developing XSLT Mapping
u2022 Create a source data type and a target data type
u2022 Create Message types for the source and target data types.
u2022 Create Message Interfaces includes Inbound Message interface and Outbound Message interface.
u2022 XSLT Mapping does not require creation of Message mapping, so donu2019t create any Message mapping.
u2022 Create an .XSL file which converts source data type into target data type.
u2022 Zip that .xsl file and import it into Integration Repository under Imported Archives.
u2022 In Interface Mapping choose mapping program as XSL and specify this zip program. (Through search help you will get XSL Mapping programs that you imported under Imported Archives, select your corresponding XSL Program)
u2022 Test this mapping program by navigating to Test tab.
By having look at above steps you can easily find out that this mapping is no where different from other mapping programs, here the challenging lies in creating an XSLT file. If you spend couple of minutes in studying XPATH tutorial you would be in ideal position to create an XSL Transformation (.xsl extension).
If you still find difficulties in generating XSL Transformation, then you can make use of a tool u201CAltova MapForceu201D which will create XSL file for you.
Steps for creating XSL file using this tool:
1. Open the Alto MapForce, import the source .xml and .xsd file in it
2. Similarly import the target .xml and .xsd in MapForce.
3. These two data files should match with source and target data types in Integration Repository.
4. Complete the graphical mapping using extensive list of XSLT functions available there.
5. Save the mapping file.
6. Click the XSLT tab. You will have the entire xslt logic there.
7. Copy that content and save it as .xsl file.
8. Zip above .xsl file and import the same into IR under Imported Archives.

Is it possible to replace XSLT mapping in place of Graphical mapping
Is it possible to do XSLT mapping in place of Graphical mapping, in any normal scenario?
Means the fuctionality we do by using Graphical mapping(like the operations by using node functions etc...) could possible to do with XSLT Mapping?HI
yes it is possible to replace the graphical mapping with the XSLT mapping.
But using XSLTs degrade the performance of the interface and moreover they are not easily maintainable.

XSLT Mapping Error - Split-MappingRoot-Tag missing
Hi,
I am getting "Split-MappingRoot-Tag missing" Error while using XSLT mapping. I am using 3 mappings in one Operation Mapping.
1) Java Mapping 2) Message Mapping 3) XSLT Mapping.
When I have these mappings in a BPM one after another it is working fine.
But ,if I put these mappings one after another in one Operation mapping it is giving problem after message mapping is complete.
I tried to remove XSLT mapping and Msg Mapping is producing correct output which can be used as input for XSLT mapping.
Any idea what could be the reason. Any hep is appreciated.

Is there any chance XSLT mapping starting before message mapping is complete
Regards,
RameshThank you for your response.
I tried to put XSL in the following format by adding that namespace. but it still giving same error.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
Code ---
</xsl:stylesheet>
Also I itried to put Java mapping before XSLT mapping to see what payload is coming to XSLT.
I am getting payload as:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge"><ns0:Message1>
XML Payload Data --
</ns0:Message1></ns0:Messages>
Any one knows how to fix this issue? appreciate your inputs

I just want to know in what kind of mapping requirements we can go with xslt mapping which is not supported in graphical mapping?
Please help me with few mapping requirements which is not supported in graphical mapping but we can achive using xslt mapping.Hi serach in SDN you will get everything ,...
anyways refer these links
A few example in which an XSLT mapping can be used:-
When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML)
When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)
Advantages of using XSLT mapping
XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions.
Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
