Value of installing latest OS 10 version?

This subject has probably been beat to death, but I am trying to decide if I should install the latest version of OS 10. My G4 cube did not come with OS 10 installed, but I later bought it and other than getting the lastest version of OS 9.2.2 in the package - it was a waste of money. Now I have the last upgrade of OS 10.1.5 installed, but I still never use it. Still, I notice that almost all the new soft ware for Mac is written for the later versions of OS 10. I can get a pretty good deal on Tiger at the university campus computer store. Should I spring for it?

I'm unsure as to the power of the video card in your Cube.
You have a design classic there, and you may want to consider buying a Mac mini and having it's guts put into your Cube.
This way you get a video and processor upgrade, Airport Extreme, Bluetooth, Tiger and all the free software that comes with it. Garageband is worth the price of a mini alone.
It's up to you. I did read several post as http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ and maybe http://www.macfixit.com/ with photos of Cube owners who have performed the upgrade. Perhaps a google search will find more details and photos.

Installing latest showing wrong version in registry

I installed the latested install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi from the flash player distribution page. The version on the computer I installed was reporting as 11.3.300.270. After installation, if I went to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ it shows I have 11.4.402.278; however, the DisplayVersion in the registry is reporting as 11.4.402.267 - sounds to me like that entry didn't get updated in the latest build.
This is on a Windows 7 pro 64 bit machine.

Problem with iTunes. I have Windows 8 on a new laptop. Installed latest version of iTunes. Can play music in My Library but when I click on Itunes Store I get the message "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Any recent fix when installing latest itunes version 11.1.4 on Windows 7 64 bit PC?

Any fix to the latest itunes update version 11.1.4? I do not want to try to install again on my Windows 7 64 bit PC after spending hours correcting the last attempt with error code R6034. When this happened my ystem went out of control and my HP all in one printer failed as well. After following the instructions to correct given on this site, I was able to get system back to previous condition minus itunes. I would like to reinstall my destop running windows 7, 64-bit as well as my laptop running Windows 8.1, 64-bit but am afraid to encounter the same poblem as my first attempt to install. Is there a new update version in the works that does not cause error code R6034? If so, when can we expect it to be released?

At the time of posting this reply, the 11.1.4.62 version is still the most recent version I'm aware of.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

Did you downloaded and installed Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 through Creative Cloud.
After uninstalled them, Creative Cloud saying applications are "Up to Date" when not installed.
If this is the case then please perform the steps given in the help document.

The installer should have gone into your Apple Software Update folder:
C:\USERS\<user name>\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
Right mouse click the msi file and select INSTALL

Running 64 bit Windows Vista Home . Failed to install latest version of iTunes 10.6 with error message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.......click OK , or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes64msi"
After using this source in the box below and clicking OK it comes up with another error reading: "the file C:\Users|My name\AppData\Local\Apple Software Update\iTunes64msi' is not a valid installation package for iTunes. Try to find installation package 'iTunes64.msi" in a folder from which you can install iTunes".
As I could not find this file I then uninstalled iTunes, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple mobile device support, and Quicktime and all related files as instructed from iTunes support page and tried to re-install all again. Unfortunately they all installed except iTunes which came up with the same error messages again.
Is this an Apple or Windows problem?...........HELP!
