Variable substitution without FCC

hi experts,
can we use variable substitution without using FCC in the CC.
Regards,
Akhil

thanks Santosh,
Could you pl. help me out what FCC parameters I should maintain for the structure given below:
<Header>
<Itema>a</Itema>
<Itemb>b</Itemb>
<Itemc>c</Itemc>
<Detail>
<DetailA>A</<DetailA>
<DetailB>B</<DetailB>
</Detail>
<Detail>
<DetailA>A</<DetailA>
<DetailB>B</<DetailB>
</Detail>
<Trailer>
<TrailerA>A</TrailerA>
</Trailer>
</Header>
The structure is same in both sender and receiver.

    Hi Malika,
    Do not mention ns1 in the variable substitution.
    Why you need to mention the namespace in the variable substitution ?
    Just Mention GMPluTxn,1,GMFileHeader,1,FileName,1
    Like this.
    If you want to get the output file name with namespace, then try to get the namespace as part of your payload(i.e part of your message type ). Then if you don;t want it in the Output file, you can cut it using cut option of File Receiver Adapter.

  • Sender_interface_name in Variable Substitution in Receiver File Adapter CC

    Hi,
    as per this page : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm
    it says:
    Variable Substitution (Target Directory/File Name Scheme)
    If you set the Enable indicator, you can enter variables for the Target Directory and File Name Scheme. Enter the names of the variables and references in the table.
    ●      Enter each variable that you reference in the Target Directory and File Name Scheme fields without the surrounding percentage sign under Name of Variables in the table.
    The variables can refer to attributes of the message header or elements of the message payload.
    ○       If the variables are to refer to an attribute of the message header, add the prefix message: to the name of the variable under Reference. You can specify the following attributes of the message header:
    sender_party, sender_service, receiver_party, receiver_service, interface_name, interface_namespace, message_id, message_id_hex
    Can we not access sender_interface_name and sender_interface_namespace are not mentioned in above list of variables.
    Is it not possible to access sender_interface_name or sender_interface_namespace as variable substitute parameters from within Receiver File Adapter Communication channel.
    thanks.

    >Shabarish Vijayakumar wrote:

    Yes, i can hardcode, thats not a bad idea, i need to create then 3 different Reciever File Communication Channel objects, as I am dealing with 3 scenarios for which sender system and sender interface is different.
    >Shabarish Vijayakumar wrote:
    >>if you look at the mapping runtime constants, those are also for the receiver since the sender interface will always remain constant for any particular CC.

    yes in this link you provided i can see..
    INTERFACE     Interface
    INTERFACE_NAMESPACE     InterfaceNamespace
    SENDER_SERVICE     SenderService
    RECEIVER_SERVICE ReceiverService
    RECEIVER_NAME     ReceiverName
    RECEIVER_NAMESPACE     ReceiverNamespace
    it seems both INTERFACE (,INTERFACE_NAMESPACE) and RECEIVER_NAME(,RECEIVER_NAMESPACE) are present, may be one is for sender, and another is for receiver.. may be if i use dynamic configuration, possibly my issue would be addressed.. correct me if i am wrong.
    thanks.

  • FTPs connection error:When using Variable substitution for Directory path

    Hi
    I am transferring data from BI to xml file via PI: Here a Client proxy from BI sends the data to PI and the PI FTPs the XML file to a remote location. For FTP I am using FTPs SSL connection.
    It was working fine untill I used Variable susbstitution to determine Directory path dynamically. I am using this because different xml files are intended to goto the different locations.
    I did the variable substitution like this:
    Target Message Structure:
    ---> Target Directory: %var1%
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <MT_BI_EXTRACT_FILE>
      <Header>
         <Directory>/Customer</Directory>
    </Header>
    <Detail>
    </Detail>
       </MT_BI_EXTRACT_FILE>
    And in the variable substitution I am doing it this way
    payload:MT_BI_EXTRACT_FILE,1,Header,1,Directory,1
    And the error I am getting is:
    Attempt to process file failed with Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: handshake failure

    Does anybody have some Idea of this ??
    Regards
    Naina

    Hi,
    I guess the problem is not with Variable Substitution..
    Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool:
    So its a connection problem..
    Also check the option Disable Security check and try again...
    Try to check again if the interface is executing properly without Variable substitution and let us know..

    HI,
    your variable declartion is perfect, can you please check the below points,
       1.To specify variables in the target directory and file name scheme, they must be enclosed by % characters.
       2.variable name is case sensitive, can you give only lower case instead of giving upper case.
       3. Model_Number is giving same as per the message type.

  • File to file with out message mapping and using variable substitution

    Hi,
    Can any one send me a scenario where we can have file to file scenario with out message mapping and where i can use variable substitution.
    As of now i am using integrate configurations where i cant use variable substitution as the message does not reflect in integration engine. I need to populate time stamp between <filename><timestamp>.txt.pgp
    I am as of now using configuration scenario.
    The time stamp always writes before the last file extension.
    Let me know your thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
    u can use the Variable substitution even without IR contents also(Mapping....).
    in the receiver communication channel just specify the path u want to access for a value...
    eg: filename                             payload:mt_name,1,records,1,name,1
    and in th file name give it as %filename%.txt... or vt ever ur requirement

  • Variable substitution: (delete leading zeros from file name)

    Hi All,
    I am configuring an IDOC to FILE (fcc scenario) with a requirement of using the IDOC number in the output file name.
    Using variable substitution, I manged to get the IDOC number from incoming Idoc-control record but it comes in its entitre length with a few leading zeroes like '00000001234'.
    So my output file name looks like 'Output_000000001234.txt'  . I want it to be like 'Output_1234.txt'.
    Is it possible to achieve it ?
    Thanks
    Shirin

    Hi Shirin,
    First supress the leading zeros of IDOC number by using the following code:
    Create a user defined funciton zerosuppress and take the cache as value and take one argument input. Then put the code below:
    //write your code here
    String output = input.replaceFirst("^0+","");
    return output;
    Then use variable substitution for generating ur IDOC number in the out put file name.

    Vinod.

  • Variable Substitution field shouldnot be written to the file

    Hello,
    I am doing a proxy to file scenario.
    Below is my datatype structure:
    MT_IN
    ---Line     1..unbounded
    ---FileName 1..1
    From the R/3 side, I send the entire file in the "line" element and the name of that file in the "FileName" element.
    Now I want to use this "FileName" element in my variable substitution to dynamically generate my filename schema but I dont want to write this into the file which is written to the filesystem.
    I only want to write the contents of "Line" element to the file and not the "FileName".
    What all options are available to do this? Please detail out.
    Thanks

    Hi Laxmi
    I think you need to reframe the message
    Do like this
    MT_OUT
                Header
                   FileName
                Items
                   Line
    Now you get Record Structure  Header, Items
    and apply FCC parameter. This will resolve. Your structure is not getting supported correctly by FCC. Try it
    Thanks

    Hi experts,

    Is this possible?
    Thanks a lot,
    Florian

    I have done this taking a field from the XML.
    You have to map the location of the field within the XML...
    Taken from:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/bc/bb79d6061007419a081e58cbeaaf28/frameset.htm
    Variable Substitution (Target Directory/File Name Scheme)
    If you set the Enable indicator, you can enter variables for the Target Directory and File Name Scheme. Enter the names of the variables and references in the table.
    &#9679;      Enter each variable that you reference in the Target Directory and File Name Scheme fields without the surrounding percentage sign under Name of Variables in the table.
    The variables can refer to attributes of the message header or elements of the message payload.
    &#9675;       If the variables are to refer to an attribute of the message header, add the prefix message: to the name of the variable under Reference. You can specify the following attributes of the message header:
    sender_party, sender_service, receiver_party, receiver_service, interface_name, interface_namespace,
    message_id (message ID with hyphens, for example 9fbe1ff1-9a0d-11d9-8665-cbf10a126331)
    message_id_hex (message ID in hexadecimal format, for example 9fbe1ff19a0d11d98665cbf10a126331)
    For example, if you want to specify the interface name from the message header in the target directory or in the file name scheme, enter message:interface_name as the reference.
    If one of the message attributes contains characters that are not permitted in a file name, for example \, /, :, *, ?, ", <, >, |, then these characters are replaced by an underscore ("_").
    &#9675;       If the variable refers to an element in XML schema, add the prefix payload: to the information under Reference. The reference then comprises a pseudo path description in the form of a comma-separated list with the schema namea,na,nameb,nb,....
    namea,nameb,... corresponds to the element name and na,nb,... corresponds to the occurrence of the element name at the respective level in the document.
    The description begins at the root of the document and ends at the respective element.
    To reference the element that is in bold in the example, the following expression is used: payload:root,1,e1,1,e2,2
    The parser searches for the first occurrence of the root element at the first level. It then searches for the first occurrence of e1 at the second level and for the second occurrence of e2 at the third level. The content of the last element (“Example Value”) is set as the value for a specified variable.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <root>
      <dummy>
         <e1>
            <e2>Data_1</e2>
            <f/>
            <g attr="abc">text</g>
            <e2>Data_2</e2>
         </e1>
      </dummy>
      <e1>
         <e2>illegal/value</e2>
         <f/>
         <g attr="abc">text</g>
         <e2 attr="fghij">Example Value</e2>
      </e1>
    </root>
    &#9679;      To disable the check the adapter performs for the element data, set the Disable Security Checks indicator.
    Otherwise, the adapter checks whether the element data contains characters that could lead to security risks in the file system environment. The check includes the characters “/“, “\“, and “..“.

  • Variable Substitution and Dynamic Configuration

    Hi All,
    In Variable Substitution , the name that should be given the the receiver payload should be part of the Source Payload unlike the Dynamic Configuration wherein the file name can be generated dynamically during mapping.
    I have the following questions
    1.Dont we need to write the UDF for the Variable substitution?
    2.Cant we do the Dynamic configuration without writing UDF?If so then how?
    3.In Dynamic Configuration the file name is generated dynamically.But where does the file name come from if it is not the part of the source payload?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Shwetha,
    1.Dont we need to write the UDF for the Variable substitution?
    No. Here we are accessing the contents of the payload to the target. So no UDF required.
    2.Cant we do the Dynamic configuration without writing UDF?If so then how?
    Yes and No.
    Because we can set only few Dynamic configuration  values without UDF.
    If both source and target are File, then check ASMA on both sender and receiver. Then u can get the source directory name and source file name for target also without any UDF.Also some other parameters.
    3.In Dynamic Configuration the file name is generated dynamically.But where does the file name come from if it is not the part of the source payload?
    The file name comes along with the source in the payload as a attribute in header. U can view this in SXMB_MONI, and Dynamic Configuration.
    In Dynamic Configuration the file name is generated dynamically.
    No the file name is taken as it is from the source, if u want to change dynamically that u have to do in a UDF.
    I hope this will clear all doubts,
    If nt pl post

  • Problem related to variable substitution

    Dear all ,
    I have a query related to variable substitution :
    The requirement is that filename should be in the following format : <b>%<store_code>%_%<Date>%</b>_master.xml .
    I have done the configuration for Store_code in the variable substitution from Payload .
    But I am facing <b>problem related to Date as the requirement is that we should not take the date from the payload</b> . We used "ADDtimestamp" in the file mode creation but it is generating file with time stamp also which doesn;t serve the purpose .
    Can somebody suggest <b>how to take the current date without taking it from payload .</b> <b>Does anyone know something about standard current date which I can assign directly to Var2 .</b>
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Prabhat

    Hi,
    In your mapping, have a user defined function which has a bit of Java to get the current date and time and pass back out to a variable.
    Here is a code snippet I got in Google to do this :
    import java.text.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Dtest {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
       SimpleDateFormat df = (SimpleDateFormat)
         DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.SHORT);
       System.out.println("The short date format is  " + df.toPattern());
       Locale loc = Locale.ITALY;

  • Filename in J2SE Adapter with Variable Substitution

    Hello,
    Within the J2EE receiver fileadapter (and ftp) from SP13 it is possible to compose the target filename and directory based on the payload of a message using variable substitution.
    I wonder if it is also possible to use variable substitution with the J2SE fileadapter. For this it is not documented but i thougth that the same java libraries are used for the J2EE an J2SE file-adapters.
    Aybody??
    Really Nobody??

    Hello,
    the J2SE Adapter does not support variable subsition. Therefore we created our own class which gets called from the main SAP XI class "XMB2FileProcessor.class" wich is in the jar "aii_msg_adapter.jar". In your own class you can do what ever you need to chane the file name. In the configuration you can set your own parameter to search the payload for a string you want to replace. We also had to come up with our own timestamp, e.g. file2005-11-10 which SAP does not let you do, only the full timestamp is possible.
    One other nice thing is that you can develop our JAVA class local and test it with your local J2SE Adapter Engine on you PC before you deploy it.
    Steps to do:
    1. JAD the SAP class
    2. Put a call in the SAP class
    3. Compile the class
    4. Put the class back in the archive
    5. Create your own class
    6. Create a jar file for it
    7. Put the jar file in the tech_adapter directory
    8. Change the run_adapter start cmd to include your jar file
    It works great, the only issue is if you patch the J2SE engine you have to do step 1 to 4 again but that should it very easy to do.
    Cheers
    Stefan
