I just thought I would resurrect this thread, because I am encountering the same issue, except for me the Edit button just opens the topic IE.  As such, the only way to edit the topic is to right-click and choose View Source, then do another Find to get to the bit I wanted to edit, which is a bit of a faff.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with IE9 and RH8.  As well as the suggestions made here, I have tried changing IE's HTML editor from the developer window (as described here), which works for IE itself, but not RH.  I've also tried editing the Registry and adding the path to Notepad++ to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\OpenWithList\Notepad++.exe\Shell\edit\command.  Again, this makes no difference, which leads me to think there is no association between IE9 and RH8.
The twist for me is last time I used this tool I'm sure it worked, but it has been a while and I cannot remember what other software changes have taken place that could affect RH.

  • Changing the editor for Multi-File Find and Replace

When I click edit on a file it opens it up inside Word. Anyway to get this tool to open the topic inside RH? Or inside another text editor like Notepad++? I don't trust Word to leave my code like I want it.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Can I use openJDK for multi platform projects?

Hi, I'm new in the forum and I have a question about differents Java implementations.
I'm a Fedora user and I have the doubt if I can use openJDK to create applications that running in Windows and other non-Linux platforms.
I read that Oracle Java 7 is referenced in openJDK and I believe now openJDK is more compatible with Oracle JDK, but I'm not sure although the simple tests I made runs well.
    Thanks for the answers.

    PinguinoAdministrador wrote:
If I read well, Oracle JDK can runs everything I program with openJDK,yes...
because openJDK is apart of Oracle JDK.No, that's not what I said. But whatever, you have nothing to worry about. Java is a standardized platform, you should be able to compile and run on any implementation of it. Just as long as you keep the version in mind. Java 7 software is not going to run on a Java 6 installation. Java 6 software does work on a Java 7 installation though.
I'm a small freelance and if I develop something in Java will most likely run on WIndows, because my potential customers use Windows.I wouldn't neglect the Mac nowadays, its a growing target.
You may also want to consider targeting the web like most of the rest of the world; that takes away plenty of deployment problems you may face.

  • Compressing: iMovie to CD to multi-platform Adobe Reader...

Any clear current codec/compression-app winners when it comes to creating QuickTime movies in iMovie for multi-platform distribution on CD? These will be viewed within Adobe Reader, and I AM aware of the Reader 7/QT7 incompatibility (wish somebody would fix it!) Greatly appreciate any comments, links, whatever... Thanks!
    dc

I don't question your obviously profound knowledge concerning the usage of .pdf files for distributing multimedia content via CD...
    ... but to add:
... when it comes to creating QuickTime movies in iMovie for multi-platform distribution on CD... ... not EVERY platform supports Quicktime.., to my knowledge TWO do so...
... video format is QT... Quicktime is NOT a video-format, it is a wrapper or "container", throwing a short view over this list let me estimate, QT is 30% "video"...
... QT7 works in R6... QT7 for windows doesn't support h.264... as an example. so, "codec"/settings can result in trouble.
    last question:
why do you post a question about encoding in an edit-app forum?
you should better try here or here.....
    happy landing...

  • Any suggestions for games for 70yo nana? I think some of the games seem hard but I like solitaire and bubble and would like to learn texas hold,em but reviews are awful. I like word games also.

Any suggestions for a 70 y.o. nana.  I only have bubble and solitaire and I like word games and would like tolearn texas hold,em.  Some of the games are confusing and difficult to figure out the rules. Thanks!

are you looking for a certain type of game? For example, ones to keep her brain sharp? Or just general games for fun?  How familiar is nana with computers?  Does she own one, or will you be with her while she is using it?

  • Was Promised a multi-platform DVD for Photoshop 11

I am in the process of switching from a windows computer to an iMac computer.  I found that my new iMac would not install  the .7Z download version.  I did chat sessions with 3 different representatives from Adobe and kept being re-assured that I would get a multi-platform DVD mailed to me free of charge to take care of the problem.  The first time I was promised this DVD was on November 4, 2013.  I have recently discovered that my order had been cancelled for some unexplained reason.

I believe unless you bought the boxed dvd version of pse 11, which has both the mac and windows
versions included, that the serial from the windows version won't work on  the mac version pse 11.
You can try the pse 11 download for mac from here:
Just be sure to follow the very important instructions or the link won't work

  • Flash or Director for a Platform Game

    Hi all,
First of all, I want to say that this post is not meant to
start another fight about these 2 great app, I just want your
advice about which one can give me better performance on the web. I
feel comfortable using Lingo and Actioscript 3, however I am not a
programmer but I can do things move. I am posting here because, I
know many Director users are now using Flash.
    These are some considerations:
    1. If I go for Actionscript 3 the game will be Tile-Based
    2.Using Tile-Based with AS3, I think, copyPixel will be a
    good option
    3. If I go for Director both techniques, Art-Based and Tile
    Based are valid options
    4. I have not decide which collision method to use in both
    cases
    5. I will need connection to MySql, with Flash I know how to
do it, with Director I do not
My concern is performance, not programming. I will appreciate
    your feedback
    Regards

It's okay but it limits your chances of getting help.

  • Calling default XML editor for system in Java

I'm looking for a way to call the system's default editor for xml files from a Java application. In other words, if I'm running on a Windows system, I might want to start Notepad, or if I'm on a Mac, maybe I want to start TextWrangler or oXygen, etc.
Essentially, I want to pass down an XML file to the system and have the underlying system determine the default editor, and then open the file in that editor.
I've seen some code using Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c notepad.exe") and the like, but that assumes
    a) I know what the default editor for XML on the system is
    b) I know the executable path for this file
I don't have a way of knowing either of those assumptions. Can anyone suggest ways for me to solve this bind?

You might want to check out the Desktop class which "allows a Java application to launch associated applications registered on the native desktop to handle a URI or a file" including "launching a registered application to open, edit or print a specified file".
But note: "The mechanism of registereing, accessing, and launching the associated application is platform-dependent." In particular if there is no association between file/URI and application all you get is a IOException at the time you call open().

  • Developing a java editor for a special perspective in Eclipse

Does anyone have any idea about creating a java editor for my perspective in eclipse.
In other words, I want to know that an editor for the files with a specific extension (for example ".java" extension) is unique or not?

Thank you for the advisements. We have changed the things with the release of version 1.32.
It's not our intention to conceal our commercial interests with AniFun3, but we also want to give back something to the community. We do this with the free trial version. Everybody can use the trial version for commercial and non-commercial use. Below, there are some of the most recent benefits:
    - It strongly simplifies and accelerates the creation of (small) 3D applications
    - The community can use it as a platform to exchange pieces of work (for example: instead of typing in source code to help someone here in this forum)
    - And last, but not least: With the "CustomObject" Property there is a professional platform to let someone create and offer/exchange extensions to the 3D API. For example, if someone writes an interpolator for Material or an improved Text2D object, than it took just a little bit more work to make it configurable via the visual interface. Exchanging CustomObjects would probably bundle similar efforts from different sources in one place.
    Best regards,
    Oliver
PS: Version 1.32 is optimised in many details and production stable. Users of earlier Versions should upgrade to 1.32.

I need help creating a record instead of listofrecords, and also if anybody could shorten all the extra code I probably have. I also would like to limit being able to guess fake words, for example guessing aaaaa. Thank you so much, and if you have any ideas to help, please let me know.

    Hello
I had fun on this. You may try the following script.
(Please copy the code from this web page, not from subscribed email text)
It has been tested except for the parts using 'do shell script' and 'TextEdit'.
The 'do shell script' is used in looking up dictionary and 'TextEdit' is used in keeping a log.
(Perl code has been tested with MacPerl 5.6.1under OS9.1.)
You may use any dictionary file that contains words (one word per paragraph delimited by LF) encoded in UTF-8. (For code points in U0000..U007F, UTF-8 is identical to ASCII)
    By default, it uses /usr/share/dict/words.
    Cheers,
    H
PS. The word game 'Jotto' may have been copyrighted in a way such that it's not allowed to reproduce the (part of) game protocol in this sort of computer programme without permission. If such is the case, (cough-cough,) please just disregard this.

  • Score Editor- Create Multi-Bar Repeat

I'm transcribing pop songs with a lot of 8 bar repeats. How can I insert a multiple bar repeat symbol into my score? I only see the 1 and 2 bar repeat symbols and I can't even really get those to work for me either.

Indeed - this is something I have really missed in the Logic Score editor for basic arrangements of pop/jazz etc
It is very common to have a multi bar repeat which is not just 1 or 2 bars - 4 bar & 8 would be especially useful in many situations where there is a groove going and you just need a drummer or bass player to keep a chord progression or riff that is obvious.
It would enable one to reduce the number of pages for the part
PS Just to add - notwithstanding Ski's helpful input - that what is need is the capacity to do fill in an actually number above the bars where the two bar repeat is. This very common convention of arrangers is just not available in Logic - and it should be.
If you take Guy's example above, it would mean you could condense the part and not have loads and loads of repeated 2 bar segments. And also ...
.. you would not want to add extra repeat signs etc because you would want the other instrument parts ( ie with more complicated content melody lines perhaps) to be longer - and have the same repeat signs on each part.
In other words, the rhythm section is playing a groove which repeats and the soloist or other instruments are doing other stuff on top of it.
It is in rhythm section parts that I really miss the capacity to add numbers above the repeated two bar sign
    Hope this makes sense

  • Windows 7 multi-platform mode

I need to find out how to correct my version of Windows 7 (64 bit) on my Toshiba Satellite A505 so that my pc operates in the multi-platform mode that Microsoft intended it to operate in. It is my understanding that it was not Microsoft's intent that certain manufacturers remove or disable a primary operating feature solely to resell that function as an upgrade when the user would inevitably realize some software programs won't run. I believe the OS version of Windows 7 that came with my laptop when I purchased it was a restricted-mode, 64-bit-only version. I have some 32-bit applications that will not run.

My apologies. As a novice forum user as well as pretty much of a novice pc software problem solver, I thought someone might use the link I provided where all of the instructions are and my simple statement that it didn't work for me might be explanatory enough. In retrospect I do understand the intent of the forum is to provide the clear step-by-step problem and then someone might hopefully see where I've gone astray. I will copy and paste the instructions (in sentence case) and then provide my comments in [CAPS].
We strongly recommend saving LIBRARY.EXE in your root (C:\) folder. However, you may save LIBRARY.EXE in any folder. [I SAVED IT TO MY DESKTOP]
After LIBRARY.EXE has completed downloading you can start the installation two ways... a.) Click your START button, then click RUN
A small screen with a white box will open...
In the white box, type C:\LIBRARY.EXE in upper or lower case.
Or b.) Go to the folder where you saved LIBRARY.EXE and double-click on it. [I DID THIS]
    3. A box/screen titled Winzip Self-Extractor will appear. Click the top button, UNZIP. [I DID THIS]
    4. You will see that a default folder called C:\MHC has been selected for software installation. Please DO NOT change this default selection to another folder. [I DID NOT CHANGE THIS]
    5. After a quick unzipping process a small box will appear confirming that "367 files unzipped successfully". Click OK to close this screen. Depending on your version of Windows, another small black screen MAY appear after closing the Unzip screen. If this happens simply close this black screen using the 'X' in the upper right corner of the screen. [I CLICKED OK AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILES.  THE SMALL BLACK SCREEN APPEARED FOR A SPLIT SECOND THEN DISAPPEARED]
    6. As the software quickly identifies your version of windows you will see a new screen that says "Winsock.dll found. Please select YES". (Always click YES at this prompt when you re-start the software in the future.) [I DID NOT SEE THIS SCREEN]
    7. Within moments a grey screen will appear with the words FILE and HELP in the upper left corner. Under these words you will see three icons. Click the first ("Connect") icon. [I DID NOT SEE THIS SCREEN]
    8. The DIALING DIRECTORY menu will appear. In this menu you will see two listings: [I DID NOT SEE THIS]
    Reference Desk 98.49.234.146
    Modem Personnel Registry 1-310-715-2912
    9. Double-click "REFERENCE DESK", which appears on a black line. [I DID NOT SEE THIS]
    10. Depending on Internet traffic at the moment, your connection to The Worldwide Military Personnel Database should be relatively immediate. (You may briefly see a window 'counting down' to connection.) [I DID NOT SEE THIS]
    11. Wait a few moments for any new 'first-time' files to transfer to your C:\MHC folder. [I DID NOT SEE THIS]
    12. Respond to any screen questions that appear. [I DID NOT SEE THIS]
    13. This ends the installation. You may now discard these instructions.
During the installation process above a startup icon (a world globe bisected by a yellow arrow) was sent to your desktop. For all future access to the Database simply click this desktop icon to re-start the software. NOTE: If the re-start icon was not created on your desktop simply copy the filename LIBRARY.LNK from your C:\MHC folder to your Windows subfolder where your desktop icon (.lnk) files reside. (In most versions of Windows the .lnk folder is: "C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP".) [I DO NOT HAVE THIS ICON ON MY DESKTOP]
Another way to create a desktop icon for the Library software is simply to:
Right-click your mouse on any open space of your desktop screen
    Select "NEW"
    Select "SHORTCUT"
In the "Command Line" box type: c:\mhc\csterm.exe
[I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE FROM ANYONE IF THIS INFORMATION CLEARLY EXPLAINS THE PROBLEM I AM ENCOUNTERING. IF I AM STILL NOT CLEARLY EXPLAINING THE PROBLEM PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I CAN PROVIDE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION.]

  • Selecting one letter from a word Array (to start off a word game)

    Hi,
I have been building a simple word game. It is smple but works fine. I am now trying to enhance some of the features.
I would like to see if I can display one letter of each word so the Player has a hint. Think of this as a beginners level.
The words are random from a text list. Either I can make the letters invisible and the game starts without a hint or I am able to select a letter using charAt() or creating a new variable substring()from the word which is the displayed repeatedly on the stage(not what I want)
I have not been able to find a way to display one letter and display it in the correct order within the word and keep the remaining letters invisible.
I am including the code below.
I have another question regarding looping arrays but I'll wait until I figure this out.
I hope it is not too long and I am being clear in my goals.
    Thanks

    Hi,
After many hours of reading and trying out different strategies, I began to think that I was trying to do to much in one section.
I created a new TextField (oneLtr) used the addChild(oneLtr) and using the charAt() method was able to isolate a uniquely different letter as a hint for each new word.
I am now trying to work out the code so the x position moves dynamicaly with each new word.
My hope was to have a leter sitting in the exact position but right now I'm learning a lot about text and arrays so that's ok.
Any suggestions and help is always great

  • Problem using Aperture as external editor for Photoshop CS5...

I am having trouble using Aperture as my external editor for Photoshop - if, for example, I select twenty photos and choose "edit in photoshop CS5," for some reason or another, only ten or twelve photos will show up. Some photos are always missing, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Has anyone else noticed this? It is really frustrating and slowing my workflow down immensely. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Casey.
First lets make sure we have the flow going the correct way.  You are using Aperture, and use PSCS5 as your external editor (external to Aperture).  Right?
Second, what size are your Masters?  When you use PS directly (not calling it from Aperture) do you regularly open twenty files at a time?
My Masters are about 25 MPix each.  PS sizes them in the 140 MB range.  Opening twenty of them at once -- for me that's about 3 GB of data -- will probably bog things down.  Does the problem occur if you open just, say, five at a time?  What's your hardware?  How do you have PS set-up?
And -- my top suggestion for improving your work rate: do in Aperture as much of the work as you can, and send out to PS as little as possible.  You don't say what kind of work you are doing, but Aperture, for many, suffices for almost all of there photograph processing needs.
