Videos application using mobile network. A bug?
Hey everyone,
I seem to have come across some questionable behavior regarding the Videos application.
Here's the problem:
I have an iPhone 6 running iOS 8.2 (12D508) with a subscription with T-Mobile Netherlands.
Earlier this year I bought an Harry Potter movie in the iTunes store to watch on my television using Apple TV. (bought it through Apple TV)
Naturally, through iCloud, the movies shows up on my phone as well. When I want to watch it I get the message
I need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network in order to download / watch the movie.
If I am connected to a Wi-Fi network I can watch the movie. If the connection with the Wi-Fi network drops
I get a message I cannot continue to watch the movie until I connect to a Wi-Fi network.
However, in the background the entire movie is downloaded / buffered using the cellular network.
In my case this has resulted in a pretty hefty phone bill.
To me, this behavior seems like a bug. If watching a movie is not possible using the mobile network, then surely buffering should
not be happening as well.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues and / or has Apple acknowledged this as a bug? Or is this 'working as intended'...

Do you have the small BlackBerry logo just to the left of the signal strength bars in the upper right corner? I suspect there is a problem with your BIS account with your carrier. You should call them to ensure all is in order with your BIS.

Suggestion: Direct Video Call using 3G network.
I found there is not Direct Video Call option in any Android version by default Like it is in iPhone and Symbian phones, we can do a Video Call directly using the 3G network by dialing the number like we dial it for a normal call. Samsung and some HTC phones have implemented this in their andriod phones. I want to suggest please implement this Video calling feature in Sony Xperia phones. Note: I am not talking about Video call using any Video Calling App like skype or hangout or tango etc. I am talking about direct 3G network Video Call by dialing the number. So better people avoid replying to the post with useless replies
You might be right at your place, many people may not need it because there are many free video calling apps in google play. But if you believe me, there are still some people here in our region, they do not know how to use google play or a google ID, and if they do not know what is google play how they will download an app for a video call.many people are backword here, some of them even do not know how to use these video call APPS. The purpose of my this suggestion is for those people who are not able to download and who are not able to use these video callings apps. if this features enables, they can just make a video call like a normal call only network data charges apply and that is it. I have also requested the same feature to android.

Downloading in iTunes more than 50MB using mobile network
Whenever I try to download anything beyond 50 MB , I get a message that I should use wifi or use desktop PC. I do not have wifi and using 3G.
What can be done to download 50 MB file using mobile Internet connection ?There is a 50 meg limit, only Apple with the agreement of the carriers can potentially raise that limit. Until if/when that happens you will need to find a wifi network for your iPad or download via your computer's iTunes and sync them over to your iPad.

Suresh Balakrishnan .No, you can't. The phone has to be on the same network as your Mac and Apple TV. Neither of those devices can connect via cellular.

How to run/test application using network streams
Hello,
I'm confused on what steps to follow to test an application using the network streams feature. After reading a lot and going through other discussions I found 2 simple VIs on the last post here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Network-streams-problem-with-cRIO-9022/td-p/1401576 (I attached the VIs, which I modified just a bit) which I believe have been tested before and work so I was trying to do the same in my desktop and it does not work. I get the same scenario when I was trying to test the code I wrote: no bugs, both VIs run but nothing happens.
According to the link above this is what is supposed to happen: "a PC hosts a GUI (see mainGUI.VI) that sends an array of doubles to the cRIO via one stream and reads a double value back via another. The cRIO, via the scan interface, reads the array via the first stream and writes an analog value to the host via the second (see mainRT.VI). "
The current set up is:
1. Add both VIs to the blank project with the target device cRIO (see attached screenshot)
2. Deploy mainRT.vi on the cRIO
3. Run both at the same time
Am I missing something?
Also, I have been reading that there are two ways of testing this. One running both VIs on the PC and the other actually using the targeted device, in this case cRIO. Is that correct?

In my situation, one side is a Remote Real Time system ("Remote"), which has the behavior that when it starts up, it runs the code that I want, which includes establishing the Remote side of the Network Stream. I make all (four) streams use the Remote as the site whose URL (or IP) I need to know. I set them up so that if they time out (I think I may use 15 seconds), they simply close the connections and try again, exiting when all four connections are established, and going on to run the rest of the Remote code.
On the Host, the expectation is that the code is already running on the Remote. Accordingly, on the Host side, the Initialization sequence establishes the four connections, all using the IP (URL) of the Remote. I also use a 15-second timeout, but run it inside a second loop to allow three tries before I give up (and generate an Error Exit). Otherwise, if all the connections get made, I've got my Network Streams connected and can continue.
In this scheme, both the Host and Remote code are in the same Project. What I typically do is to Build the Remote code, deploy it, and set it to run as the Startup. If you are not dealing with a Real Time System, you might not have that option. But you should deploy your Remote code, and start both programs within each other's respective TimeOut windows. Since in my scheme the Remote Window is infinite, I (automatically) start it first, then start the Host. I haven't timed it, but I'd guestimate that the connections are established in at most a few tenths of a second.

I hope someone can help me.
I am really tired, fed up, with this Podcast application's behaviour. I have set up, both from the Podcats Settings and Mobile Network Settings that Podcast should NEVER use Mobile Networks for any download, it should only use WiFi.
After doing that as soon as I open Podcast, if I check Mobile Networks configuration, or Podcast config, I see that again, by itself!!!, Mobile Networks for Podcast is ACTIVATED (even when the iPhone is connected to WiFi)
Apple people, this is costing me money!!! And this strange (silent and from the back) behaviour, against the user settings, looks more and more like fraud (as when I apply the settings I define clearly my intentions of not downloading from the network, but your Apple's Podcast Application keep changing it against my will)
I wish someone can help me to stop this application to revel against the user's will.It is not properly connected to the network.

Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks -
Can i make Live Audio/Video application between 2 users

what it was designed for. You would need FMIS as that is the
interactive version that enables live capabilities. -
sorry for being bit off topic but when ur speaking of using mobile network my app world doesn't work on mobile network but it's not bb service it's only internet mobile.. do you have any solution??

Hi,
I developed a web application using HTML5-Offline Application Cache mechanism. Inspite of deleting the cache as mentioned in the above steps, Firefox still maintains a copy of the page in it's cache. Also, a serious bug is, even though we delete all temp files used by Firefox, and open the previously cached page, it displays it correctly, but upon refreshing/reloading it again shows the previous version of the page maintained in the cache.

[email protected]We have had this issue many, many times before including on the latest 3.6 rev. It appears that when the applicationCache has an update triggered by a new manifest file, the browser may still use only its local network cache to check for updates to the files in the manifest, instead of forcing an HTTP request and revalidating both the browser cache and the applicationCache versions of the cached file (seems there is more than one). I have to assume this is a browser bug, as one should not have to frig with server Cache-Control headers and such to get this to work as expected (and even then it still doesn't sometimes).
The only thing that seems to fix the problem is setting network.http.use-cache to false (default is true) in about:config . This helps my case because we only ever run offline (applicationCache driven) apps in the affected browser (our managed mobile apps platform), but it will otherwise slow down your browser experience considerably. -
I want to be able to totally block the FaceTime functionality in my home network so my 4 kids aren't using the Facetime feature- It was easy for Skype just had to enter the work Skype on my Router Security list- and it denies access. I would like to do this at the router level for FaceTime? Only site I find in init.ess.apple.com - is this the startup site for Facetime? Does anyone know a site I can block, hostname or IP address that the FaceTime application uses? Or which port it connects to?
I would presume so, but it might be worth your while to experiment and play around with different combinations to see if you can block FaceTime while keeping Game Center open. Good luck!

Unable to access Internet using a Mobile Network
Hello friends
I recently updated my SE Xperia mini pro 17i (2011 model) to ICS, initially there were some issues and I had to re-update it to finally get authentic interface of ICS. Even after the successful update I am unable to use the mobile network to access Internet, the only way is to use a Wifi instead. Can somebody please help me out with this issue?
KaranThe first thing I would advise doing is contacting your current network provider and have them send you through the relevant internet settings.

Issues in ADF mobile application using Trinidad components
I am facing the following issues when developing a mobile application using trinidad components :
Jdev version : 11.1.1.6
1) I dont see a date component using trinidad components? The dev guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e10140/sup_comp.htm says that tr:inputDate is supported but when i try to drag a data field to jsf page i don't see an option for Trinidad date component. so i went ahead and created an af:inputDate in the page. But the date selection dialog doesnt open up.
2) i tried using 'Rendered' for conditional rendering of a component but it does not work or refresh immediately, the same problem is solved in my adf application using visible property but looks like there is no 'Visible' property for Trinidad components. any work around?
3) i wanted to have a 'create insert' call in my task flow before launching the page. Since Task flows are not supported in ADF mobile application, i have added 'ADF Faces' also into my project and created task flow and jsff page as i do for a adf web application the only diff being the usage of trinidad components in my jsff page. is this fine? Also can we mix trinidad components and adf components into the same page?
4) I have a tr:inputText on a clob input text field which i am updating in ADF page using a clob converter class. Same thing i cannot do for trinidad text as it is resulting in null pointer exception. any solution to update clob fields into database which uses tr:inputText compents.
Help to solve any one of the above issues (by quoting serial no) would be highly appreciated. Thanks.>
