View link in front of Filter used is giving error

Hello Experts,
Please help me in this:
I have a report made in OBIEE 10g in which ,below the report the filter used in report are shown.
In front of these filter there is a link "View" which when I click it does not view the filter.
As in my case its like below:
Filter1
and filter2 are prompted view
and filter3 are prompted view
and filter4
so when i click the view link above it gives me an error as : 'sawCommandToURLlmpl' is undefined.

Not familiar with the error message, but here are some general ideas you can check.
I believe you are referring to "saved filters" that when displayed in Filter View, have that "View" link at the far right. The link is automatic and points to where the filter is saved. Barring any configuration problems, check to see if the saved filters were saved properly. By this I mean that they were saved in a location that can be viewed by the user who would click on the link. If the permission doesn't allow the connection back to the source, you will get an error. Hope this makes sense.
Other questions to ask and answer:
1) Do all saved filters behave this way (i.e., with an error message)?
2) Do the reports and filter views work as expected when run as Administrator with full access?
3) Does the problem exist in all browsers? Versions?
Good luck.

  • Web Dynpro application calling external web server using HTTPS giving error

    Hello,
    I don't know whether this is the right question in this forum but my ABAP web-dynpro applicaiton is expected to call another HTTP application on external web server through HTTPS. Presently it is calling through plain HTTP but we want to have HTTPS.
    Here are the steps that we followed based on the link from help.sap.com
    1] Received the certificate files from external web server
    2] Created SSL Anonymous client
    3] Imported the certificate files under this client and added into the certificate list
    4] Re-started ICM
    5] Created RFC Destination of type HTTP to connect to external server with SSL option and basic authentication. This RFC destination was working under plain HTTP.
    When tried with Test connection it gave error "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
    Any idea what might be missing. Thanks in advance.

    Used proper certificate after which the error went away

  • Bug in view link creation

    Here's an interesting bug in JDev 9.0.3.1, Win2k:
    I'm working with a view link using the Edit View Link dialog. It links two view objects, ViewA and ViewB, in a 1:* relationship. Entities EntityA and EntityB are the respective underliers of ViewA and ViewB. Under the View Link Properties node in the dialog, the only accessor generated is for the Destination view object.
    When I click OK, the column constants at the top of EntityA.java become messed up!!
    To be specific, all of the accessor column constants defined on the entity object are removed and then re-defined one line above the beginning of the column constants declaration section. They also are renumbered starting with zero, which causes them to have the same value as the first n column constant definitions. Naturally, this causes a "duplicate case label" compile error for the EntityA.java file.
    Even worse is if the column constant definitions start on the same line as the opening brace for the class, like so:
    public class EntityAImpl extends EntityImpl
    { protected static final int COLUMN_1 = 0;
    protected static final int COLUMN_2 = 1;
    // etc.
    The effect of clicking OK in the Edit View Link dialog is then to produce a ParseException error as the dialog is dismissed. Looking at the EntityA.java file, it's clear why:
    public class EntityAImpl extends EntityImpl
    protected static final int ACCESSOR_1 = 0;
    protected static final int ACCESSOR_2 = 1;
    // etc.
    { protected static final int COLUMN_1 = 0;
    protected static final int COLUMN_2 = 1;
    // etc.
    What puzzles me is:
    * Why is the entity object being affected at all, since the accessor was only supposed to be generated in ViewA?
    * Why are all the accessors being removed and re-added, even those that have nothing to do with the view link being edited?
    * Why, when the accessors are re-added, are the constant values duplicated?

    Please send a test case. I'm unable to reproduce this in a simple project in 9.0.3.1 or 9.0.3.2.
    Is there entity inheritance involved?
    Do your entity XML files mention _superAttr anywhere in them? If so, you might be hitting a known issue with 9.0.3 relating to entity inheritance at design time and the accessor attributes.

  • ADF BC : Polymorphic View Link

    hi
    If I generate Business Components from Tables for EMP and DEPT in the SCOTT schema, I get an Association "FkDeptnoAssoc" and a View Link "FkDeptnoLink" based on this Association.
    This allows me to select "EmpView via FkDeptnoLink" in the Data Model pane of the Application Module Editor (in the tree below "DeptView").
    After this I added a View Object "BigMoneyDeptView" that extends "DeptView" with a where clause "Dept.DEPTNO IN (SELECT DEPTNO FROM EMP WHERE SAL >= 3000)".
    Because "BigMoneyDeptView" extends "DeptView" I would expect to be able to select "EmpView via FkDeptnoLink" for the "BigMoneyDeptView" node in the Data Model pane of the Application Module Editor, but that is not the case.
    Should I create a new View Link to be able to use the detail EMP records for "BigMoneyDeptView"?
    thanks

    Using the previous release of JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.0.0), build 5156, it looks to me like the issue still remains (see also PolymorphicVLThread319915In11g5156AppDM.png).
    I don't know what might be different with my examples, but I have made them available for download:

  • Undo Changes in child table (using view link)

    Hello,
    My environment : Jdev 11.1.2.2.0
    I have a master-detail relationship which is linked using View Link. My requirement is to open a popup on double clicking the master row, and the user can add/delete/modify the child rows. Also I need to provide Ok/Cancel buttons. I need to Undo all the changes done for the child when the user clicks 'Cancel'. Can anyone please help to solve this?
    Regards
    Suresh

    First u need to a custom SelectionListener and make sure that RowSelection is set to single row. Add a method in the Managed Bean and make the row as current using the below java code
    public void Master_tableListener(SelectionEvent selectionEvent) {
    // This code is to make the selected row as current programatically
    ADFUtil.invokeEL("#{bindings.*YourViewObjectName*.collectionModel.makeCurrent}",
    new Class[] { SelectionEvent.class },
    new Object[] { selectionEvent });
    Row selectedRow =
    (Row)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.*YourViewObjectIterator*.currentRow}");
    // Tip : U will get the above EL's when u 1st drop the Master table on the page
    // Invoke the pop up programatically
    RichPopup.PopupHints ph = new RichPopup.PopupHints();
    p1.show(ph);
    After writing this code.. All u need to do is Drop the Detail Table on the Dialog of ur popup. This way u will get all the rows of the table. So, filter this table with the foreign key using some code..
    Or u can just drop the region containing the Detail Table with the Rollback and commit

  • Af:tree Using View Links

    Hi
    I have created two af:tree components. Based on similar conditions but on different database tables.
    I have no issues in displaying one tree. I am able to expand the tree and go to second level and so on.
    But for my second tree component when i try to expand the top most level, I am not seeing any values.
    I have enabled debug logs in my JDev to see the query that gets run and found out that the bind variable is getting a junk value.
    The bind variable should typically get the id of the value that i am trying to expand. I am able to see values correctly being passed in my earlier tree (the one that is working fine).
    I have tried to compare both the VOs and View links and could not find any.
    Please help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Kamal

    Hi Frank
    Sorry for not being clear.
    Let me explain my issue clearly.
    I have a table with columns and values as below:
    LEVEL_ID | FILTER | CODE1 | CODE2
    1     | | A     | B
    2     | A | A1 | A2
    2     | B | B1 | B2
    I want the above table to be shown as below tree structure
    A
    |__A1
    |__A2
    B
    |__B1
    |__B2
    For this implementation, i created a View object that returns all the codes at level_id 1 (VO1) and a View Object that returns all the codes at level_id 2(VO2).
    I have a view link between these two where i bind the CODE1 of VO1 to FILTER of VO2. VO1 is the parent and VO2 is the child.
    Using VO1 i have created the tree (drag and drop) and in the edit tree binding dialog box i have added the rules appropriately.
    When i run my page, with debug logs enabled, I can see the A,B values coming properly in the UI. But, when i try to expand any of them, I do not see the A1,A2 or B1,B2 values.
    In the debug logs, I can see a junk value being passed when i try to expand rather than 'A' or 'B'.
    I have done a similar implementation with another tree component and it works fine as i can see proper values in the debug logs.
    I do not understand why the junk values are passed.
    Hope this explanation gives a clear idea about my issue.
    I am currently using JDev 11.1.1.3 version.
    Thank you
    Kamal

  • ADF: use of view link Accessor in Entity Object = always null?

    Hi,
    JClient 9.0.5.2, adf model.
    I would like to use the view link accessor method in the master EO to retrieve detail EO values and the view link accessor method in the detail EO to retrieve master EO values.
    Detail Rule:
    In the detail EO an attribute is derived from an attribute of the master EO: detail attribute = master attribute.
    Master Rule:
    In the master EO an attribute is derived from the detail EO: master atribute set to 0 if detail EO exist else set to 0.
    Tables:
    Table Master => MasterEO => MasterVO
    - masterPK (not updateable)
    - masterField (not updateable)
    - hasDetailsFlag
    Table Detail => DetailEO => DetailVO
    - detailPK (not updateable)
    - masterPK => foreign key (not updateable)
    - masterField (query only)
    MasterDetailLink based on foreign key.
    In link wizard I asked for the generation of following accessors in the source & destination Entity Objects:
    In DetailEO accessor name: RetrieveFromMaster
    In MasterEO accessor name: RetrieveFromDetail
    In the DetailEO, I asked for the generation of the DetailEOImpl file, accessors and create method.
    As wriiten in the file, before the create method:
    ** Add attribute defaulting logic in this method. **
    I tought this is the place to retrieve the master attribute:
    The code:
    MasterVORowImpl masterVO = getRetrieveFromMaster();
    if (masterVO == null)
    System.out.println("MasterVORowImpl masterVO create NNNNNNNNNNNUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLL");
    The masterVO is always null?
    I suppose I didn't understand something, my guest is that ViewObjects may not be used for default logic?
    I know how to implement those rules in the database with triggers.
    I think that the data I need for implementing those rules exist somewhere at the ADF level so retrieving the data from the db is not necessary?
    Could somebody give some clues?
    I didn't find a similar example in the Business Rules in BC4J document.
    Your help will be appreciated
    Frederic

    Hi,
    Detail Rule, copy attribute value form master.
    In DetailEOImpl:
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList)
    setAttribute(MASTERFIELD,this.getMaster().getMasterField());
    super.create(attributeList);
    Master rule, set flag to 0 if no details else set to 1.
    In the MasterEOImpl added method to check if detail row exists based on Row Iterator => no db retrieval?
    This method also sets the flag accordingly:
    protected void checkHasOtherDetails()
    oracle.jbo.RowIterator ri = this.getRetrieveFromdetail();
    ri.last();
    // last() must be called else hasNext() returns true even on last delete ???
    Number hasDetails = Constants.NUMBER_NO; // = 1
    if (ri.hasNext() || ri.hasPrevious())
    hasDetails = Constants.NUMBER_YES; // = 0
    if (!getHasDetailsFlag().equals(hasDetails)) {
    this.setHasDetailsFlag(hasDetails);
    I call this method in the remove method of the detailEOImpl:
    public void remove()
    this.getRetrieeFromMaster().checkHasOtherDetails();
    super.remove();
    To set the flag I added follwoing code in the create method of the DetailEOImpl:
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList)
    setAttribute(MASTERFIELD,this.getMaster().getMasterField());
    **** ADDED ***
    Number masterHasDetailsFlag = getRetrieveFromMaster().getHasDetailsFlag();
    if (!masterHasDetailsFlag.equals(Constants.NUMBER_YES)) {
    getRetrieveFromMaster().setHasDetailsFlag(Constants.NUMBER_YES));
    super.create(attributeList);
    One more question:
    Is there a danger of calling last() on row iterators in create/update/remove methods of *Impl files?
    => current row changed => any effect on display in JPanel
    Thanks
    Frederic
    PS All variable/method/class names have been manually renamed in this code so some small syntax problems may exist.

  • Use View Object with Alternative Data Sources in View Link

    In my case, I created a view object based on alternative data source (not with SQL query). I have setQuery(null) in the override create() function for this View Object. When I use this View Object at the destination end of the View Link, the setQuery(null) will raise Jbo-26016 exception (You cannot set customer query (calling setQuery()) on a view object if it is the detail view object in a master detail view link.) which does not allow me to do that. I looked Avrom's Framework for Database API-Based ADF BC, in which he override the DBTransaction and CallableStatement in order to intercept the default query clause set by the View Link. I'd like to see if there is any alternative ways to achieve my objective?

    Just following up what I found so far. I'm trying to use customized View Object based on alternative data source at the destination end of View Link with ADF 10.1.3.
    1. For the View Object at the destination end of View Link, I can not call setQuery() which will raise Jbo-26016 exception.
    2. I can omit the setQuery(null) call in my customized ViewObjectImpl, and as long as there is no SQL statement in the View Definition XML, it won't cause problem when calling the executeQueryForCollection() of the super class.
    3. The override executeQueryForCollection() must call the super.executeQueryForCollection() in order to get appropriate result (I tried to skip the call and it does not give back any results)
    4. The funny thing is, when I make getQuery() call in my customized ViewObjectImpl (I'm just trying to double check if the Query object is clean or not), the query object is set to "SELECT FROM" following the getQuery() call, and which causes the exceptions when I call super.exeuteQueryForCollection(). I found out later from the Javadoc API which is implemented in that way.
    So I guess my case is resolved by not making specific call to setQuery(null).

  • Can I use View Link in ADF Creation Forms Jdev 10.1.3

    Hi...
    I created a view link of two tables. Then I created a ADF form with Master Object to show some informations.. and I created a ADF Creation form with the detail Object
    I'm trying to submit the informations added in the Detail forms.
    but no records are created in Database..
    Can I submit a creation form using detail object?
    Thanks

    I figured out "partially" the problem, I tried to overrid the create method, and for any reason the commit operation wasn´t working.
    I was trying to set a value for a proprety, but it did not work as a wish.
    My intention was.... when an user execute the form. one specific field brings a value.. however I cannot set default value. cause it´ll change sometimes.
    it´s something like this
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
    super.create(attributeList);
    setMyProperty(new Number(0));
    do you know how can I figure out this problem?

  • How to extend VO which is use in VIEW LINK and VL is created dynamically.

    Hi All,
    I wants to extend VO.
    This VO is used in VIEW LINK.
    This VL name set dynamically, conditionally in one of the controller of page.
    i.e if some condition satisfied than xyz VL will use otherwise abc VL will use.
    Now,
    I have extend VO as well as VL and substitute both, but I am getting null value for some of the field and also I am not able to insert/update new value.
    So,
    I have created VORowImpl class file which extend VOROWImpl of seeded file and chage the row class of VO.xml file to new class. i.e. modified seeded .xml code and achieve what I want.
    But Is this correct way ?
    Is there any other way ?

    Hi pratap,
    thanx for your reply.
    intially i've done that also. i.e. extend only VO and substitute it but i'm getting null values in some field as well as nt able to insert/update new value.
    the error is related to VL.

    Hi,
    I have faced similar problem some time ago. I could not find any solution except removing bind parameters in where clause. I tried to change binding style but it also didn't work. I think the problem is caused by view link's where clause.

  • View Link between two query views

    Hi is it possible to create a view link between two views having the where clause bind variables.
    How you set the bind variables at the run time for the View objects. It is giving hard time for me to use the Master view in the XmlData bean to generate the Xml document.
    I am able to set the Master views bind variables, but for view link destination view
    where clause bind variables are not able to set ( link object link condition bind variables are binded run time but the views where chause bind variables of destination view are unable to setand bind)
    Thanks
    null

    Easiest way to do this is to add additional transient attributes to your master view object, and then include those additional transient attributes in the list of source attributes for your view link. This way, you can get BC4J to automatically refer to their values with no additional code on your part.
