View Table Data

I apologize in advance if this question is obvious - I am new to JDeveloper.
In JDeveloper 9.x, I recall the ability to connect to an Oracle database and view the data in a table via a "Data" tab in the Connection Manager.
Since then, I've installed JDeveloper 10 on a new computer, but find this "Data" tab is no longer available.
How do I now view table data in JDeveloper?
I see many tutorials on viewing data from new application. However, I simply want to examine the table data, not develop a new application.

Assuming you are using JDeveloper 10.1.3 - when you double click a table in the database browser a window that shows it's stucture will be open.
Look at the bottom of this window and you'll find the data tab.

  • DataServices 3.1 AIX/DB2 problem viewing table data.

    This is a brand new DS 3.1 installation. After install, DI part works fine, jobs run, and we can view table data. At one point view table data became very slow, actually after a 30-second hour-glass show, an empty grey  window shows up.

    Hi Mahir,
    the CID transform uses by default the Substitution Parameter [$$RefFilesAddressCleanse] to search for the necessary directory information.
    You see this if you open the transform configuration and take a look at the options panel.
    It sounds like on your installation you have the Data Services installed on your IBM AIX system and use the designer from the Windows based Client and during installation this Substitution parameter has been set to point to a local directory on you windows system instead to the server side installed directory (...\DataQuality\referencedata).
    Can you check in your Substitution Parameter Editor (in DS Designer under Tools--> Substitution Parameters Configuration...) if all of your Substitution Parameters are set to the local machine?

  • Viewing Tables/data from an old tablespace

    I'm using a database Oracle 11g.
    I have a DBF file of an old tablespace from a different database that I want to connect to the existing database.
    I've created a tablespace with REUSE caluse, and it was created successfully
    SQL> create tablespace TEST datafile 'C:\DATA.DBF' reuse;
    How can I view the tables/data within that tablespace?
    Was that the right approach ?
    Or should I attach that tablespace in a different way ?
    Thanks in advance for your answers,
    Roni

    Hi JGarry,
    I do not agree to your statement
    "In addition to what the others said, understand that the metadata that describes what is in the tablespace is in the data dictionary in the system tablespace.  If you have the system tablespace also, you may be able to construct a database that you can transport your data tablespace from. "
    System table space will contains the metadata information about the table space, But it will not keep information about the segments of table space. So user will not be able to see the contents of table space.
    Yes your point regarding proper backup and export is valid but can you elaborate more how to data recovery will the done in this user scenario.
    Any ideas are welcome....
    cheers

  • SQL Developer - viewing table data while debugging

    Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
    I'm using SQL Developer to debug a complex stored procedure line by line. There are a lot of inserts / updates / deletes in the procedure and I'd like to be able to view the data in the relevant tables after each statement has been run to see the effect of each statement.
    Trouble is, when I try to do this, SQL Developer shows the contents of the tables as if they have been unaffected by the stored procedure. Is there a setting somewhere or some type of locking I can use to see the data changes as they happen?

    Only the session that is inserting the data can see that new data until the session issues a commit, so I would doubt that you could do this. You probably want to a) view the data before the insert or b) (ugly but should work) put a trigger on the table being inserted so it inserts a copy of the data to a tracking table. This procedure will have to have the AUTONOMOUS TRANSACTION pragma in order to not be held until your debug session commits.

  • EA1: BUG: View Table Data: Filter gets lost when switching tabs

    Hi,
    open a table, choose the data tab and enter a filter condition. The data is filtered.
    Bug is
    a) choose e.g. constraint tab for the same table and then again the data tab. Data remains filtered, but filter is not displayed
    b) pin the table, open another table, navigate back to the previous table. Data remains filtered, but filter is not displayed.

    The issue was reported already and will probably be fixed in EA2...

    Hi User572297,
    This is the wrong forum for a SQL Loader Q, not a bad thing, you just won't get as many responses.
    That said, it seems either your terminator string is not present, incorrect or you are simply trying to load to many characters into a column that is too small. For ex: trying to load 50 characters into a Varchar2(40). You get this error for every row, hence you can not see any of the data, becuase none of the rows loaded. See below:
    0 Rows successfully loaded.
    51 Rows not loaded due to data errors.
    What would help is to know the datatype and size of the RESUMEID column AND to see the first lines of your workattribute.dat file.

  • Unable to display table data in Review View

    Hi Experts,
    I have one main view and one review View .In my main view i have one table (Normal Table) and several other input feilds and text views....
    If i click on review button in my main view, am able to see all the data in review view except table data.
    How can i get the table data which i have entered in main view.. the same should display in review view.
    I binded the same node in both main and review. and node is defined under component controller.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    Farooq.

    Hi,
    I think you already binded in review view also with same node. right? So data will move automatically and display in
    review view also. In WDDOINIT of review veiw read data from that node and use bind_Table.
    Cheers,
    Kris.

  • How to edit data from a "View Table"?

    I am importing data from a "table view" where in sql it joins several tables into one view. When I passed it in using the template it doesnt have the "Edit command column" like other direct link tables. Is there anyway I could make a view table editable? Can I manually try to do it or I have to edit the individual ables? thanks

    oh sorry about that.The "template" I mean in HTMLDB when I start building a new application I used "Based on existing tables" method and with single tables it generates everything fine with search fields and edit column to the left. I have a table view that combines about 4 tables together and I used the same template (Based on existing tables) and it has the search and create but it doesnt have the "edit" column on the left. Is there a way I can edit the view table's information so that the other tables that the view combines will be updated/edited?
    The reason is that lets say I dont know this person's ID number but I know his name. I search for his name on table A and it returns some general data including his ID number. Instead of going to another Table B with the person's ID number and edit that table I really want to see the information just from one search (Table A)- if a global search can be implemented that would be great too. Thanks Sergio.

  • View of set up tables data in se11??????????

    Hi,
    can we view the data in se11 thru set up tables names? if so then how do we find set up tables names, say for example if i am using 2lis_13_VDHDR then how can i view the data apart from RSA3 after filling up of set up tables? is there any chance to view the data thru se11 and with the set up table name? and if so then how do we find set up tables name?

    Hi
    set up table names starts with 'MC' followed by application component '01'/'02' etc and then last digits of the datasource name and then followed by set up..
    we can say the <b>communication structure</b> (R/3 side,you can check it in LBWE also) name followed by 'setup'
    for your example below is the name of setup table
    MC13VD0HDRSETUP
    If you want to check data in set up tables you better look at the transaction NPRT here you can see the table name from which data is picking also
    Hope it helps
    Thanks

  • How to View master data & Trasaction data tables for Puchasing Cube

    Hi BW masters,
    How should I check which tables (Master data tables and Transaction data tables) are involved with Business Content Cube(Purchasing data 0PUR_C01). I would like to know this information in order to go to that table and browse the data in that table. Where should we go and check this out.
    I will reward the points for the good answers.:-)
    Thanks
    Syed.

    hi Syed,
    to view tables' content you can use SE16,
    you can try infocube name, dimension tables of cube are store in *d[infocube name]1 to F, fact tables are f[infocube name] and e[infocube name]-compress,
    infocube data are stored in star schema, you can use LISTCUBE to view the content (to see the structure/tables in cube, use LISTSCHEMA),
    master data (not time-dependent) are stored in text table t[infoobject name], attribute - p[infoobject name] and hierarchy - h[infoobject name],
    take a look bw multidimensional data modeling for detail

  • Is it possible to view/get the table data from a dump file

    I have dmp files generated using expdp on oracle 11g..

    expdp_schemas_18MAY2013_3.dmp
    Can I use a parameter file given below to get the table data in to the sql file or impdp the only option to load the table data in to database.
    vi test1.par
    USERID="/ as sysdba"
    DIRECTORY=DATA
    dumpfile=expdp_schemas_18MAY2013%S.dmp
    SCHEMAS=USER1,USER2
    LOGFILE=user_dump_data.log
    SQLFILE=user_dump_data.sql
    and impdp parfile=test1.par.

    Hi,
    To explain more about my situation.
    Target database has the dump files, where as the source database (cloud) doesn't have access to the target database.
    However, I can request the target DB DBA team to run the par files and provide me the output like a SQL file which I can take and run it in my source database.
    I got the metadata the same way, but is there any way I could get the data from the dump files on the target DB without actually accessing it? My question might sound weird, but please let me know.
    <
    1. export from the source into a dumpfile. You can do this on the source database and then copy the file over to your local database or you can do this from a local database if you have a database link defined on the local database that points to the source database.  In the second case, your dumpfile will be created on your local database.

    How can i access the dump using the database link?
