View with parameter

Is there any way to set parameter in view.
Regards,
GPS.

Depending on the goal of passing parameters to a view, you can potentially use a context, as I discussed earlier...
SCOTT @ nx102 Local> create package ctx_package
  2  as
  3    procedure set_parameter( p_param IN VARCHAR2 );
  4  end;
  5  /
Package created.
Elapsed: 00:00:01.92
SCOTT @ nx102 Local> create package body ctx_package
  2  as
  3    procedure set_parameter( p_param IN VARCHAR2 )
  4    as
  5    begin
  6      dbms_session.set_context( 'MY_CONTEXT', 'PARAMETER', p_param );
  7    end;
  8  end;
  9  /
Package body created.
Elapsed: 00:00:00.11
SCOTT @ nx102 Local> create context my_context using ctx_package;
Context created.
Elapsed: 00:00:00.14
SCOTT @ nx102 Local> ed
Wrote file afiedt.buf
  1  create view ctx_view
  2  as
  3* select SYS_CONTEXT( 'MY_CONTEXT', 'PARAMETER' ) ctx_parameter from dual
SCOTT @ nx102 Local> /

  • Is it possible to create a spatial view with paramete?

    Is it possible to create a view with parameter like following:
    SELECT GEOM FROM INTERSTATES WHERE MDSYS.SDO_FILTER(GEOM, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 8307, NULL, MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 3), MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(?, ?, ?, ?)), 'querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE'
    so that I can specify ???? at run time.
    If not, is there a way to create a view that perform variable window query?

    You may want to look at application contexts, that way you may have code something like this:
    create or replace context gis_ctx using gis_params ;
    create or replace package gis_params
    as
    procedure set_bounds( minx in number, miny in number, maxx in number,maxy in number );
    end;
    create or replace package body gis_params
    as
    procedure set_bounds( minx in number, miny in number, maxx in number,maxy in number )
    is
    begin
    dbms_session.set_context( 'gis_ctx', 'minx', minx);
    dbms_session.set_context( 'gis_ctx', 'miny', miny);
    dbms_session.set_context( 'gis_ctx', 'maxx', maxx);
    dbms_session.set_context( 'gis_ctx', 'maxy', maxy);
    end ;
    end ;
    To use this method you´ll have to execute
    gis_params.set_bounds(-3,40,-2.9,40.1) ;
    before doing the select.
    SELECT GEOM
    FROM INTERSTATES
    WHERE MDSYS.SDO_FILTER(GEOM,
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003,
    8307,
    NULL,
    MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 3),
    MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(sys_context ('gis_ctx', 'minx'),
    sys_context ('gis_ctx', 'miny'),
    sys_context ('gis_ctx', 'maxx'),
    sys_context ('gis_ctx', 'maxy'))),
    'querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE' ;
    I f you are in a web environment, read about GLOBAL CONTEXT ACCESSED GLOBALLY .

  • How to create materialized  view with parameter and index ?

    Hi all,
    i am using oracle 11g.
    i want to create  parameter materialized view  with two parameter (STORED_VALUE, LOV_NAME) with  an index .
    i have below view
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW SR_MY_TEST(DISPLAYED_VALUE, STORED_VALUE, LOV_NAME) AS
      SELECT  DISPLAYED_VALUE , LOVVALUE.STORED_VALUE , lovname.lov_name

                AND LOVNAME.ENTERPRISE_ID = 100000;
    i want to create index on   STORED_VALUE, LOV_NAME
    Thanks

    No.AFAIK, there's nothing called as "parameterized MV".
    Materialized View store data like tables (and not like Views). So, does it make sense when you say - "table with parameters" ?
    Could you please explain your business requirement?
    What is the purpose behind those 2 parameters?

  • Cannot create view with parameter bindings

    Hi, I'm trying to create this view in SQLPlus:
    SELECT order_no, SUM(cut_qty),
    SUM(received_qty)
    FROM (
    SELECT order_no, cut.dated, DECODE(cut.bimetallic, 'F', cut.quantity, cut.quantity/2) cut_qty,0 AS received_qty
    FROM cut_shop_orders_dated cut
    WHERE cut.dated BETWEEN TO_DATE('&date1','DD/MM/YYYY') AND TO_DATE('&date2','DD/MM/YYYY')
    UNION
    (SELECT order_no, rec.dated, 0, rec.quantity
    FROM received_shop_orders_dated rec
    WHERE rec.dated BETWEEN TO_DATE('&date3','DD/MM/YYYY') AND TO_DATE('&date4','DD/MM/YYYY')))
    GROUP BY order_no
    The problem is that sqlplus asks me for the parameter values and then creates it with these values as literal dates in the to_date function, those not asking for parameter values in runtime.
    How can I create it using parameters with no values at design time?
    Thanks.
    Leandro.

    if you want something like :
    select * from emp $where_clause;
    you can write a procedure with parameter and run it as dynamic sql for example
    create or replace procedure pr1 ( p_where   varchar2) is
    begin
      execute immediate 'create or replace view view_name as select * from emp '|| p_where;
    end pr1;
    /then run it on sql*plus
    SQL> exec pr1('where deptno = 10');
    make sure you give yourself "create any view" rights explicitly.

  • How to create a view with parameter?

    who can tell me hwo to create a view with
    parameters just like a cursor?

    Hi,
    This is not possible in Oracle. What u can do is create the view without the where clasue and supply the where clause at runtime.
    Hope this helps...

  • Create a view with parameter

    it's posible create a view with parameters?
    i want to create a view and pass it parameters, in the same way when i create a procedure or function.
    i never have seen it, but i would like to know if that's posible
    thanks

    You cannot create a view with parameters. The only way is to use a stored proc to dynamically create the sql statement. The substitution variable approach does not work. SQL*Plus will prompt for the value of the variable at compile time (i.e. when you create the view) and use the value you provide in the view's query.
    SQL> create or replace view jws_test_v as
      2  select * from jws_test where flag = '&flg'
      3  /
    Enter value for flg: AA
    old   2: select * from jws_test where flag = '&flg'
    new   2: select * from jws_test where flag = 'AA'
    View created.
    SQL> select * from jws_test_v
      2  /
    no rows selected
    SQL> select text from user_views where view_name = 'JWS_TEST_V'
      2  /
    TEXT
    select "LEV1","LEV2","LEV3","LEV4","LEV5","LEV6","FC","FLAG","ONAFT","ONAPT","CU
    PEFT","CUPEPT" from jws_test where flag = 'AA'This makes sense, since substitution vartiables are a sqlplus construct, not a sql or Oracle construct. A view constructed in this way would not be callable from anywhere other than sqlplus.

  • How to query from view with parameter, only  when the JSP-page loading

    I use JSF/ADF BC, create two viewes:view1 and view2, in the JSP page the user press a button to query from the view1, but I hope the view2 can be queried only when the page loading, it have no relation with user-operator, and pass the column value of view2 into some variables, the view2 return one record.

  • View with Bind Variable and ADF table

    Hi all,
    Please note what i have noticed. I created a view with a bind parameter, overriden the prepareSession of my Application Module to set the bind parameter and execute the query. I then created a simple jsf page and included the view as an adf read-only table. When i run the page, the prepareSession is called, sets the bind parameter, however the selected record of the table is always the second record (Not the first record).
    This behaviour can be reproduced with the HR schema. Please follow the below instructions for reproducing the problem.
    1. Create a Fusion Web Application (ADF).
    2. Create business components from tables.
    3. Create a new connection with the HR schema.
    4. Import the Departments table as an entity and then click finish.
    5. Create a view based on the Departments entity.
    6. Modify the Query to include a where clause (where DDepartmentsEO.DEPARTMENT_NAME LIKE :BindParam)
    7. Provide an order by clause (DepartmentsEO.DEPARTMENT_ID DESC)
    8. Creata a bind variable named "BindParam" of type string.
    9. Create an Application Module and include the view object.
    10. Open the Application Module Class and override the prepareSession method
    11. include the following code after super.prepareSession(session):
    ViewObject myView = this.getDepartments1();
    myView.setNamedWhereClauseParam("BindParam", "%");
    myView.executeQuery();
    12. Create a jsf page
    13. Drag the view object on the page as an adf read-only table, selecting the Row Selection, Sorting and Filtering
    14. Run the page.
    You will see that instead of the first record being selected, the second record in the table is selected.
    Can anyone please help me?
    Thank you

    First of all i would like to thank you for replying to my thread.
    Secondly, i would like to inform you that the example that i have provided is just for REPRODUCTION purposes.
    The real scenario has to do with setting the where clause with the authenticated user so that the view will query for data only associated with the authenticated user.
    The only way to overcome this behaviour is to include a view action (namedWhereClause in the page definition)
    However, this is not how i want to implement this. This was working properly in 10g

  • Detail view with bind variable. TreeTable not showing all detail result.

    I’m having trouble with treeTable using detail view with bind variables and where clause defined in VO definition.
    Both, master and detail view objects, base on the same entity and have the same condition in where clause. The view objects also have bind variables, which are set in prepareRowSetForQuery() method.
    Again, these are two different views, that get different result, based on value of one of the bind variable.
    When I show results in two different tables on jsf page, where master table has "RowSelection" set on "single", all results are displayed in detail table.
    But when I use treeTable, only the first result of the detail is shown.

    I tested it in applicationModule and it works, but i think that's the same as two tables on a jsf page.
    This is the order in which overridden methods are called in ADF BC or two tables on jsf page
    when clicking on row in master table.
    PrepareRowSetForQueryDetail
    executeQueryForCollection_Detail user param: 2
       Object 2: class [Ljava.lang.Object;  -> print of the object2[] parameter in executeQueryForCollection

         List 1: 400035313 -> viewLink parameter value
    getEstimatedRowCount_Detail
    count: 2
    getEstimatedRowCount_Detail
    count: 2 And when i click on "expand node" in tree table:
    getEstimatedRowCount_Root
    count: 2
    PrepareRowSetForQuery_Detail
    executeQueryForCollection_Detail user param: 2
       Object 2: class [Ljava.lang.Object;

         List 1: 400035321
    getEstimatedRowCount_Root
    count: 2
    getEstimatedRowCount_Root
    count: 2Values of user parameters are OK. Is there another method that i should override?
    I also noticed, that if detail view doesn't have user bind variables, the tree works fine and is shown even in ADF BC (aplication module).
    I guess we loose a tree, when using bind variables in detail view object.
    Is there a way around it?

  • Hierarchy on HANA Calculation View with Optional Input Parameters Fails

    Hi,
    Has anyone succeeded in building a hierarchy on top of a calculation view with optional input parameters, where an input parameter is not filled?
    The original requirement came from the wish to create a parent child hierarchy on a calculation view that was copied into the customer space from a HANA Live Financial Statement query view, but I have found the following when creating a simple level hierarchy on a calculation view that consumes one table. The Calculation View has one Input Parameter where the 'mandatory' box is unchecked.
    Calculation view reads ECC table FAGLFLEXT
    Simple level based hierarchy on fields PRCTR, RACCT and SEGMENT
    Input parameter is used as a filter for PRCTR with logic ("EMPTY" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$' or "PRCTR" = '$$P_PROFITCTR$$')
    When I run the view I see the following behaviour in HANA Studio and Analysis for Excel
    Before building the hierarchy I could run the view with or without the Input Parameter
    After building the hierarchy I can run the view with the Input Parameter filled, but it fails when the Input Parameter is not filled.
    Error message is "error: search table error:  [2426] missing placeholder; missing value for mandatory parameter P_PROFITCTR"
    P_PROFITCTR is not a mandatory parameter, but the selection for the hierarchy view thinks it should be. I don't find any notes around this issue, so I don't think it's version related, however the version I have used for this test is 1.00.70.
    It's a shame we can't currently build the hierarchy as the parent child relationship is provided in HANA Live view NewGLFinancialStatementQuery.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hi Ken,
    We have been facing similar issue. We have even tried to set default value and as optional parameter. View still fails to create hierarchy (we are not using HANA live). As mentioned on page 97 of HANA modelling guide input parameter is mandatory from engine point of view. Hierarchy is generated as column view during the initial activation of calculation view and therefore expect a value by caller.
    This seems to be a product error. Some one from HANA development team should explain this issue in detail. I would expect someone like Thomas Jung reply to us.
    At the moment, we cant use input parameter for date prompt which gives us calendar popup feature for date selection. Hierarchies just don't work with input parameter. We are missing something.

  • Materialized View with Joins

    Dear Dev/DBAs,
    I have the following scenario:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE T1 (ID NUMBER(3),NAME VARCHAR2(10));
    SQL> CREATE TABLE T2 (ID NUMBER(3),NAME VARCHAR2(10));
    The T1 contains records having the ID num from 10 to 80 and the T2 having the ID from 90 to 170
    SQL> SELECT * FROM T1 JOIN ALL SELECT * FROM T2
    It give all records in the 2 tables.
    I'm planning to create a materialized view (like CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW V_TAB REFRESH ON COMMIT AS SELECT * FROM T1 JOIN ALL SELECT * FROM T2) and it seems i can't do with the error ORA-12054, further the oracle documentation says that materialized view can only be used with a simple join.
    Do you have another solution??
    Note that the materialized views can be used to improve queries.
    Thank you in advance

    Straight from the link I posted:
    *Restrictions on Fast Refresh on Materialized Views with UNION ALL*Materialized views with the UNION ALL set operator support the REFRESH FAST option if the following conditions are satisfied:
    * The defining query must have the UNION ALL operator at the top level.
    The UNION ALL operator cannot be embedded inside a subquery, with one exception: The UNION ALL can be in a subquery in the FROM clause provided the defining query is of the form SELECT * FROM (view or subquery with UNION ALL) as in the following example:
    CREATE VIEW view_with_unionall AS
    (SELECT c.rowid crid, c.cust_id, 2 umarker
    FROM customers c WHERE c.cust_last_name = 'Smith'
    UNION ALL
    SELECT c.rowid crid, c.cust_id, 3 umarker
    FROM customers c WHERE c.cust_last_name = 'Jones');
    CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW unionall_inside_view_mv
    REFRESH FAST ON DEMAND AS
    SELECT * FROM view_with_unionall;
    Note that the view view_with_unionall satisfies the requirements for fast refresh.
    * Each query block in the UNION ALL query must satisfy the requirements of a fast refreshable materialized view with aggregates or a fast refreshable materialized view with joins.
    The appropriate materialized view logs must be created on the tables as required for the corresponding type of fast refreshable materialized view.
    Note that the Oracle Database also allows the special case of a single table materialized view with joins only provided the ROWID column has been included in the SELECT list and in the materialized view log. This is shown in the defining query of the view view_with_unionall.
    * The SELECT list of each query must include a maintenance column, called a UNION ALL marker. The UNION ALL column must have a distinct constant numeric or string value in each UNION ALL branch. Further, the marker column must appear in the same ordinal position in the SELECT list of each query block.
    * Some features such as outer joins, insert-only aggregate materialized view queries and remote tables are not supported for materialized views with UNION ALL.
    * Partiton Change Tracking (PCT)-based refresh is not supported for UNION ALL materialized views.
    * The compatibility initialization parameter must be set to 9.2.0 or higher to create a fast refreshable materialized view with UNION ALL.

  • Updating a report source/viewer with new filename

    I posted earlier about this problem but now can be more specific so thought a re-post was in order. I am trying to setup an asp.net website using .NET 2.0 and Crystal Reports 2008. Rather than having a seperate page for each possible report with a viewer on it I decided to setup a page and pass it session variables telling it what file name to set the report source to and the variables to pass to it. This worked fine in crystal reports basic (the one with visual studio).
    So I have on the page CrystalViewer (CrystalReportViewer) with display page true seperate pages true and crystalRepSource (CrystalReportSource) with cache enabled and viewstate enabled as far as I know cache is required for the paging to work.
    In my form code behind file i have something like:
    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = SessionHandler.RunReport;
    switch (report)
    if (PreviousPage != null || paramHasChanged)
    case @"~\CollegeReports\CR_Course_Review.rpt":
                    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@school", school);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@division", division);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@progArea", progArea);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@type", SessionHandler.record_type);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@filterText", "School = \'" + school +
                                                            "\' Division = \'" + division
                                                            + "\' Programme Area = \'" + progArea
                                                            + "\' Record Type = \'" + SessionHandler.record_type_text + "\'");
                    break;
                case @"~\CollegeReports\CR_WBL_Attendance_Sheets.rpt":
                    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@school", school);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@division", division);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@progArea", progArea);
                    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@attendanceEndDate", LastDayOfMonth(SessionHandler.WBL_EndDate).ToString());
                    break;
    The case statement actually has about 20 reports in it it is basically used to send the appropriate parameter set to the report and setup the database logon info, the if statement around the case checks if the load is a postback (to allow paging of the report) if it is it won't run the code or if a parameter has changed if one has it will rerun the code. As I said this worked in CR basic.
    Unfortunately what now seems to happen is the first time I run a report it works fine, if I then leave the page and run a report requiring different parameters it will give me the parameter error. However if instead I run a report requiring the same parameters it will show the original report document as if it is coming from cache I think. The case becomes a bit more bizarre later as I have created the ability to change a parameter without leaving the report page this actually does a postback and changes the report to the proper one with the proper data.
    So it seems to me the code to change report is working first time and for postback but not for re-entering the page. I am really stuck been working on this for hours  any ideas.

    ok i have found the solution after a quite a while so anyone else getting this I was using the line:
    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = SessionHandler.RunReport;
    I changed it to:
    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(ReportName));
    This clears any existing report and loads the correct one seems to have solved all my problems.

  • Does BOXI support crystal reports with parameter references in formulas?

    I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
    I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer.  The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
    I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI.  I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
    When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
    Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
    Error in formula <Report Format>.
    'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
    This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
    This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
    I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula.  If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
    Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
    Thanks,
    Tim H.

    Hi,
       In Crystal Reports under File -> Report Options >check convert Null Values to default > Verify on first refresh > Verify stored procedures on first refresh.
    This corrected the issue by allowing the query engine time to locate those columns and map them to the query being sent by the report.
    The convert null values was added because those field were being used in the record selection and grouping.

    Vinay

  • Calculated view with input parameters

    Hello there.
    I've created a calculated view with input parameters, which I am going to call  it  'VIEW_A'.
    This view has been working just fine.
    But now I have to create another calculated view and import the last one(VIEW_A) in a projection.
    But I got a error when trying to see the data content.
    It says :

  • How to call a url i-view with parameters

    Hello,
    I want to make a portal navigation in a absolute way. This call should open a url-iview. In this iview the main url string is placed. Further more, a url-parameter ("test") is placed with a standard value. Now, i want to call this iview (see the call below) and hand over the value of this url-parameter. But how could this be done? In the following way, it doesn`t work. The iView will be called but the parameter is not settet.

    hi Mathias
    Try this
    1) First right click on the iView you wish to open and click Open -> Object
    2) In the iView editor you will see:
    url parameter : The parameter identifier as recognized by the information source
    value: The value of the parameter
    type: The data type
    personalize:Define if portal end users can view the param and its assigned value and if they can personalize the iView at runtime
    display name: The display name for the parameter identifier
    3) Once you have defined the iView’s URL to the targeted Web page, you may need to configure parameters that are passed to the information source as part of the URL .
    4) The parameter name is something that shouldn’t be changed because it is recognized by the information source .
    5) The parameter value can be changed.
    6) The type specifies data type of the parameter. String: Apply this option for all data types whose property is for example, an integer or string. Mapped User and Mapped Password : Apply this option when the URL parameter requires authentication with the information source at runtime.
    7) The Personalization -specifies whether or not portal end users can view the parameter and its assigned value if they personalize the iView at runtime.
    Hidden: The end user does not see the parameter and its value. This is the default setting.
    Read/Write: The end user sees the parameter and is able to modify its value.
    Read Only: The end user sees the parameter and the fixed value assigned to it. The end user cannot modify the parameter value.
    8) The display name - specifies an intuitive display name for the parameter identifier. If you set the parameter to be viewable by end users at runtime, this name is displayed instead of the parameter identifier, which is often abbreviated and unintuitive. This attribute is available only if Read/Write or Read Only is selected in the Personalize attribute
    9) The Request method:
    Get – appends parameters to the URL when the data request is sent to the information source. The server receives the data in one long query string, which typically limits the length of parameters that can be passed.
    Post - sends parameters for the URL in the header of the data request stream (parameters are not appended to the URL). This allows for long parameters to be passed to a script and parsed one element at a time. POST is only supported when the Fetch Method property defined in the iView is set to Server-side
