Viewing and implementing a BAPI

Folks
whats the t-code to view the BAPI's that are implemented ?
Whats the fundemental difference betweena BAPI and BADI ? Can a BAPI be used to access/transfer data between different R3 modules or across different SAP components such as R3 and CRM ?
Thanks

BAPI stands for  Business Application Programming Interfaces  :A Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is a precisely defined interface providing access to processes and data in business application systems such as R/3.
A BAPI is implemented as a function module, that is stored and described in the Function Builder.
you can see BAPI by Se37 and if it is used in Program can see program by SE38.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/a5/3ec8464ac011d1894e0000e829fbbd/content.htm
BADI:stands for Business add-ins
Business add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
You implement BADI by SE19 tcode.
Can see availabe BADI by SE18.

  • Sharing information between tiled view and view bean

    I have come across one more problem. I have a search result
    page. This search result page has a static text field and a repeated group
    (I simplified the page description, for explanation purpose). In the NetD
    implementation they are maintaining a page level attribute (say boolean
    haveSenisitiveCustomers) and setting this attribute in the
    afterDataObjectExecute event. (This data object is associated with the
    repeated). In end display event of static text field, they are displaying
    message say " due to Registration type, not all customers meeting the
    criteria are listed") if the haveSensitiveCustomers flag is set.
    After Migration, the boolean flag and static Text Field movedto
    SearchResultViewBean and afterDataObjectExecuteEvent has moved to
    TiledViewBean. Actual processing done is more complicated than this
    explanation. However, it boils down to sharing information between
    tiledViewBean and its parent bean. How do we achieve this in the Migrated
    Application?
    One way is to add getter methods in the child tiled view bean( to
    access in parent view bean, call getRepeated1 and cast to the actual type
    and invoke the get methods)Probably the typical solution (I say typical because I don't yet know) will
    be to do what you suggest: provide methods between views that can be used to
    determine the state needed for processing like this.
    However, let me alert you to something that's different than ND, and which
    may cause you some trouble. In ND, all retrieving DataObjects associated
    with a page executed at one time, and the afterDataObjectExcecuteEvent fired
    before any display processing began. However, in JATO, tiled views are
    independent objects, and any models associated with them only execute when
    the tiled view is first displayed.
    Therefore, if the static test field you refer to appears in the page before
    the tiled view, then the tiled view will not have executed its associated
    model before the static text field is rendered. You will never see the
    static text field display the text you want because you won't have the
    information at display time. (If the text field appears after the repeated,
    then it's not problem, as the display of the tiled view will have executed
    the associate model before the field displays.)
    The solution is to manually reference the tiled view and its associate model
    before they would normally execute. You would execute the model and set the
    tiled view's setAutoRetrieveEnabled() to false to prevent it from executing
    the model a second time. Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be this:
    beforeStaticTextDisplay(...)
    // Force the tiled view to execute the associated model
    Repeated1TiledView tiledView=
    (Repeated1TiledView)getChild("Repeated1");
    tiledView.beginDisplay();
    tiledView.setAutoRetrieveEnabled(false);
    Although the beginDisplay() method will be executed twice in this case (once
    deliberately, above, and later during actual display), there should be no
    overhead. The beginDisplay() method doesn't do anything anyway except
    execute associated auto-retrieving models and fire the
    afterAllModelsExecute() event.
    Mike, do you concur or have any comments?

  • Is it possible to access elements of a view in implementation class?

    Hi,
            In the BSP component workbench, is it possible to manipulate elements of a view (listbox, inputfields etc., hardcoded using htmlb tags) in the methods of view implementation class. For example, I have a inputfield which is initially invisible. I want to make it visible when a particular event is triggered. I wish to code this directly in the event handler method. Can anybody provide some pointers?

    Arun,
    As the UI elements (tags) do only exist during rendering phase a direct access from the view controller is not possible - especially not in the forward-oriented way from within an event handler as  indicated from you in the posting.
    However, it is of course possible to hard-code view layouts; for this approach you can use the BSP view corresponding to the view and code there whatever you like. BSP views can also contain code snippets to achieve dynamic effects. In your example it doesn't look like that you need code at all - you need to preserve the status (visible/ invisible) in a value attribute of a context node and use this value to bind visibility of the input field on the layout.
    In CRM 2007, there are two main tag libraries (aka BSP extensions) being used:
    - THTMLB (single tags, like input field, button, table, ...)
    - CHTMLB (configuration tags; these are available for forms, tables and trees)
    You should always use these tag libraries in the first place to assure common look and feel and avoid rendering issues.
    Best regards
    Peter

    Hi Marcelo,
       Yes, there are some requirements for certificates in Expressway.
    Expressway Core (Exp-C)
    - Can be signed by either External or Internal CA
    - Better to use a cluster name even if you start with 1 peer in Exp-C cluster. In the future, if more peers are added, changes would be minimal.
    - Better to use FQDN of cluster as CN of certificate, this way the traversal zone configuration on Expressway-E won't require any change even if new peers are added to Exp-C cluster.
    - If CUCM is mixed mode, include security profile names (in FQDN format) as Subject Alternate Names
    - The Chat Node Aliases that are configured on the IM and Presence servers. They will be required only for Unified Communications XMPP federation deployments that intend to use both TLS and group chat. (Note that Unified Communications XMPP federation will be supported in a future Expressway release). The Expressway-C automatically includes the chat node aliases in the CSR, providing it has discovered a set of IM&P servers.
    - For TLS b/w CUCM, IM-P & Exp-C
      + If using self-signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Cisco Tomcat, cup, cup-xmpp certificates from IM-P on Exp-C. Load callmanager, Cisco Tomcat certificates from CUCM on Exp-C.
      + If using Internal CA signed certificates on CUCM, IM/P. Load Root CA certificates on Exp-C.
      + Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, cup-trust, cup-xmpp-trust on IM-P.
      + Load CA certificate under tomcat-trust, callmanager-trust on CUCM.
    Expressway Edge (Exp-E)
    - Signed by External CA
    - Configured Unified Communications domain as Subject Alternate Name
    - If using a cluster, select FQDN of this peer as CN and FQDN of Cluster + this peer as Subject Alternate Name.
    - If XMPP federation is being deployed, enter the same Chat Node Aliases as entered in Exp-C.

  • Storing XML using XSU, object VIEW and INSTEAD OF trigger

    Here is the point:
    I've got 2 tables which are linked:
    CREATE TABLE dept (
    deptno NUMBER PRIMARY KEY,
    deptname VARCHAR2(20)
    CREATE TABLE emp (
    empno NUMBER PRIMARY KEY,
    empname VARCHAR2(20),
    deptno NUMBER REFERENCES dept(deptno)
    I've got the following message, which I want to insert in the tables using XSU (I already have a PL/SQL stored procedure which work perfectly for insertion into 1 table, using DBMS_XMLSave.insertXML or xmlgen.insertXML):
    <DEPT>
    <DEPTNO>10</DEPTNO>
    <DEPTNAME>IT</DEPTNAME>
    <EMP>
         <EMPNO>1</EMPNO>
         <EMPNAME>John</EMPNAME>
    </EMP>
    <EMP>
         <EMPNO>1</EMPNO>
         <EMPNAME>Phil</EMPNAME>
    </EMP>
    </DEPT>
    So I've created the following object:
    CREATE TYPE emp_t AS OBJECT
    empno NUMBER,
    empname VARCHAR2(20)
    CREATE TYPE emplist_t AS TABLE OF emp_t;
    CREATE TYPE dept_t AS OBJECT
    deptno NUMBER,
    deptname VARCHAR2(20),
    emplist emplist_t
    Now I understand that I should create an object VIEW and an INSTEAD OF trigger (That's what I read many times),
    but I don't know how to structure the view and the trigger.
    Could you help? (Example of a similar context, piece of code)
    Thanks a lot
    Marion

    Hi John,
    I have exactly the same issue as you experienced back in January. I have a complex data modelling requirement which requires the need to pivot rows into columns using ROW_NUMBER() and PARTITION clauses. To hide the complexity from the middle tier, I have created a database view and appropriate INSTEAD OF triggers and mapped my EO to the view. I have overriden the lock() method on the EO implementation class (to avoid ORA-02014) and would like to try the same solution you used with the pl/sql call to lock the record.
    My question is, how did you manage the release of the lock if the transaction was not rolled back or committed by your application i.e. if the user closed the browser for instance.
    In my naivity, I would like to think that the BC4J framework would release any locks for the database session when it found the servlet session to be terminated however my concern is that the lock would persist and cause complications.
    Any assistance greatly appreciated (if you would be willing to supply your lock() method and pl/sql procedure logic I would be even more grateful!).
    Many thanks,
    Dave

  • In a document library : group by view and manage metadata filter & Navigation problem

    Hi all, I encounter a problem when configuring a document library using a group by view and in combination with the Managed Metadata filtering and
    navigation :
    - all the documents appear under my group by, even the ones that does not correspond
    - In the other hand, the number in brackets shows the correct number of documents that should be shown
    See screenshot below.
    Did you already encounter that issue ? Is there a workaround ?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use a group by view and combine with the Managed Metadata filtering and navigation in a document library
    to show the corresponding documents with the correct numbers in SharePoint 2013.
    In my SharePoint 2013, I created a view which was group by two columns and combine with the Metadata Navigation Hierarchies and Key Filters some fields in a document
    library. As a result, it showed only items matching the filter values.
    So, I recommend that you can follow the steps to implement it in your environment.
    Step1: Enable Metadata Navigation and Filtering:
    Metadata Navigation and Filtering is a Site Feature that has to be activated for this to work.
    And, the Metadata Navigation and Filtering feature is enabled by default on most sites.
    If it is not enabled for your site, you can enable it on the Site Features pages for your site.
    You must be a Site Owner or a Site Collection Administrator to enable Metadata Navigation and Filtering.
    1. Go to “Site Settings” and click “Manage site features” under Site Actions.
    2. Find “Metadata Navigation and Filtering” in the Features list and click “Activate”.
    Step2:
    Configure Metadata Navigation:
    You must have a least the Manage Lists permission level to configure metadata navigation for a list or library.
    1. Open the document library for which you want to configure metadata navigation.
    2. Go to “Library Settings” of the document library and click “Metadata navigation settings” under “General Settings”.
    3. In the Configure Navigation Hierarchies section, select the field or fields you want to display in the navigation hierarchy and then click “Add”.
    4. By default, Folders are automatically displayed in the navigation hierarchy. If you do not want folders to display, select Folders, and then click Remove.
    5. In the Configure Key Filters section, select the fields you want to add as Key Filters, and then click “Add”.
    6. In the Configure automatic column indexing for this list, specify whether you want to automatically create indices on this list to increase the performance of the
    queries that users will perform when they use the Navigation Hierarchy and Key Filter columns you've specified. It is recommended that you select the option “Automatically manage column indices on this list”.
    7. Click “OK”.
    Step3: Set a group by two columns by modifying view in the document library:
    1. Go to the “LIBRARY” ribbon of the document library and click the “Modify view”.
    2. Click the “Group By” and select up to two columns to determine what type of group and subgroup the items in the view will be displayed in.
    3. Click “OK”.
    Step4:
    Go back to the document library, apply Navigation Hierarchies and Key Filters to do a test in your environment.
    The result will like as below:
    There is an article about how to apply Metadata Navigation Filtering in SharePoint 2013 for your reference.

  • Best Practice regarding using and implementing the pref.txt file

    Hi All,
    I would like to start a post regarding what is Best Practice in using and implementing the pref.txt file. We have reached a stage where we are about to go live with Discoverer Viewer, and I am interested to know what others have encountered or done to with their pref.txt file and viewer look and feel..
    Have any of you been able to add additional lines into the file, please share ;-)
    Look forward to your replies.
    Lance

    Hi Lance
    Wow, what a question and the simple answer is - it depends. It depends on whether you want to do the query predictor, whether you want to increase the timeouts for users and lists of values, whether you want to have the Plus available items and Selected items panes displayed by default, and so on.
    Typically, most organizations go with the defaults with the exception that you might want to consider turning off the query predictor. That predictor is usually a pain in the neck and most companies turn it off, thus increasing query performance.
    Do you have a copy of my Discoverer 10g Handbook? If so, take a look at pages 785 to 799 where I discuss in detail all of the preferences and their impact.
    I hope this helps

  • Differences Between Entry View and GL View - Doc. Splitting

    Hello Experts,
    I need some help about an issue occuring in our Client right now, differences in Entry view and GL View. Any help will be appreciated.
    - Debit or Credit Balance posting of an account does not match with the balance posted in GL View, generally the GL view posts an amount above of the Entry view, and then it cause the Debit/Credit balance does not match with the movement in Entry View. Example Below from Quality System:
    Debit Balance in January 2013: 319.794.641,38
    Movement from FAGLL03 - OK.
    Movement from FBL3N - Entry View Difference: 319.794.619,86 - 319.794,641,38 = 21,52 Debit
    Checking NEW-GL Movement, we found the posting difference:
    The Document Entry View: 5.465,22 Credit From Bank Account
    The GL View - SAP Credited 5.486,74 Bank Account PC 1411 and Cr Bank Account PC 1444.
    Total:  -5.486,74 + 21,52 = 5.465,22 OK on Balance, but not OK from movement considering the Entry view.
    - Questions:
    - I understood the calculations, it was calculated as mentioned in note 1072850_Field overflow or very large amounts due to doc splitting
    - Is this supposed to happen by SAP Doc.Splitting perspective?
    - I am facing this issue because we need to send to the government account balances and their movements, and according to laws we need to pay additional amount for addtional lines generated, so it was better to send the information based in Entry View, not in GL View.
    - FS10N Show warning message "New general Ledger Implemented, use FAGLB03", and when i execute the transaction the balance showed was the balance from FAGLB03.
    - SAP 605 APPL.
    Regards,
    Leandro.

    Hi ,
    Can you Please look at OSS note

  • How to solve the flash Builder 4.6 scroll view and textinput  display problem?

    I have a dynamic form application which worked well on flash builder 4.5, having display problems in flash builder 4.6 now. What I did is adding
    TextInput objects  to a scroll view and set the texts for them dynamically. Everything is fine after the screen loaded. But if I scroll down, sometimes the texts will be placed in wrong positions. I attached the screen copy of the wrong display. Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

    Check out the two threads below (if you have not already). I have not tried it but aeonus describes an approach that made me think of something that might work ... It is a workaround but, what if you have a text field (txtA) with the skin that does not allow soft keyboard selection, but does scroll correctly, and on the onClick event of that text field, you dynamically cover it with another text field (txtB) that does allow soft keyboard selection, (but does not scroll properly) and trigger the keyboard. After you get the entry from the user, set the value of txtA and destroy txtB ... leaving you (theoretically) with properly scrolling text fields. If you have a lot of those in your app, you might want to write a component that implements that behavior.
    "Create a dynamic textfield, and on click, invoke create a StageText instance at the same location as the textfield (by setting the StageText.viewPort property)
    Finally, set StageText.softKeyboardType to "numeric" and call StageText.assignFocus();"

  • Using interface builder to create a table view and add a cell

    So I am using interface builder to make a table view. Should be easy. I drag a table view controller to my view, then it seems I should be able to drag a table view cell to the table view but it won't let me drop it down. If I do it in the documents window it just replaces the table view with a cell. Seems like this shouldn't be hard, but it's one of those things that should take 2 seconds but I have been messing with it for hours. It seems like most of the examples I have looked at in the same code don't use iB so I haven't found a good reference. If somebody can point me in the write direction let me know.

    I struggled a bit too. Here's what I did on my recently completed app. I used IB to create the basic view and add the table. That's it. Then ensure your UIViewController based class implements the UITableViewDelegate and UITableViewDataSource protocols. Your cells will come from those methods, not anything you do in IB.
    If you're creating a set of screens that just have tables that allow you to navigate up and down through the data then IB isn't worth using at all.
    Just have your views extends UITableViewController and follow some of the supplied table based example apps.
    I rewrote my first app 3 times as I slowly figured all of this out.
    Hope that helps.

  • Updatable Materialized View and Master Table on same database

    Hi all,
    My first question - Is it possible to have an Updatable Materialized View and the associated Master Table located on the same database?
    This is the requirement scenario:
    One unique database D exists.
    A is a batch table. Only inserts are allowed on Table A.
    M is an updatable materialized view on Table A (Master). Only updates are allowed on M (no insert or delete).
    Requirement is to push updates/changes from M to A periodically and then get the new inserted records from A into M via a refresh.
    Is this possible? What other approaches are applicable here?

    John,
    My question is related to the implementation and setup of the environment as explained in the above example. How can I achieve this considering that I have created an updatable m-view?
    If possible, how do I push changes made to an updatable m-view back to it's master table when/before I execute DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH on the m-view? What is the procedure to do this if both table and mview exist on the same database? Do I need to create master groups, materialized view refresh groups, etc.?
    One more thing.. Is there a way to retain changes to the m-view during refresh? In this case, only newly inserted/updated records in the associated table would get inserted into m-view. Whereas changes made to m-view records would stay as-is.
    Hope my question is directed well. Thanks for your help.

  • Creating a master-detail relation between a view and a table

    Hi all,
    I have a problem with creating a master-detail relation between a database-view with lots of customer data and a small table with per customer a list of entities of our companies who may work for that customer.
    Somehow I seem to be unable to create a relation between these two. I can't find where I can make a foreign key using Toplink to implement the relationship. And neither can I get a Viewlink object doing the job using ADF Business Components.
    Somebody any suggestions on this problems?
    Regards,
    Birgit

    There is a key relationship between two fields which form the primary key in the main table of the view and two fields in the second table.
    I created a viewlink manually, but I still couldn't get the data correct i.e. a form with one record of a customer from the main view and a small table with all entities of our company who can make performances for that customer.
    I tried to find a manual or a how-to on this topic but I didn't find anything helpfull yet.
    Regards,
    Birgit
    After a couple more tries, I got the master-detail working. With all the fiddling I am not sure what caused the problem but I think the finally action was checking which fields of the view were marked as primary keys.
    Now everthing is up and running.

  • Model-View-Controller implementation help

    Hello, all. I'm updating an old, clunky, slow-as-molasses application to a slightly more responsive and expandable app with the help of the MVC pattern. However, I'm having a little trouble figuring out the best way to implement MVC in a Java app. Specifically, I'm not sure of the best way to get the model and two views talking to each other.
    My model comes in the form of a couple manager classes that provide access to all the business data for the application. This is a relatively simple client-server app where the server can request that certain data be added or deleted, and the model responds accordingly. Similarly, scheduled tasks that run every 2 minutes can cause certain data to expire or become scheduled for display.
    The model provides addXXXChangeListener methods. When a model change occurs that listeners need to know about, the model calls a notifyListeners method, and all registered listeners are notified of the change. View classes that are interested in hearing about model changes register themselves as listeners with the model and implement methods in the XXXChangeListener interface. In this way, the interaction between the model and view is almost exactly like existing interactions between event sources and listeners in Swing/AWT.
    Right now, there isn't a lot of decoupling between the model and view, since the View obviously needs a reference to the model to add itself as a listener. The controller for the app sets all that up. Is this a viable way of implementing MVC in a Java app? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    appreciated.In classic MVC, the code that registers the listeners, captures the events and updates the model should be in the controller. The advantage being that you could theoretically change the view to use a different model. In reality, the view is generally (but not always) pretty specific to the model (while pieces of the model may not be) so there is little gained by doing this. The other advantage is that this can be a little cleaner and allow the controller to be 'smarter'.
    If you are simply worried about coupling the vew to a specfic implementation of the model, create interfaces for the Model classes and let the Controller supply the View with references to the implmentations.

    Hi,
    Create authorization scheme for MODIFY, VIEW and INSERT.
    For MODIFY and INSERT edit button and select Authorization Scheme.
    For VIEW on Edit Application properties go to security tab and select Authorization Scheme for VIEW.
    Sample PL/SQL code for authorization(It will return boolen):
    Scheme Type: PL/SQL Function Returning Boolean
    Code:
    Declare
    v_ret number;
    Begin
    v_ret := AUTH_PKG.can_update(:APP_USER,:APP_PAGE_ID);
    IF V_RET =1 THEN
    RETURN true;
    ELSE
    RETURN false;
    END IF;
    End;
