Viewing swf file offline.  Also viewing fullscreen?

Hi everyone,
I am doing a presentation for school and I was thinking that
it would be a lot better to put it together in Flash rather than
PowerPoint.
However, I'm not sure how I should present it. I will be
using a school laptop connected to a projector. It would be easy
just to save the swf to the internet and play it in Internet
Explorer, but I can't assume that I would be able to get internet
access (although I probably will). I would like some alternative
just in case.
I know that I could save it to a CD or something and open it
in Internet Explorer, but the only problem with that is that
sometimes IE blocks files playing from the hard drive. I've
encountered that problem before.
Is there some kind of Flash Player that isn't an internet
plug-in that I could use?
In addition, if I do end up playing it in IE, it would be
kind of nice not to see the browser, to have the video play
fullscreen? Is that possible at all?
There seem to be so many problems. Should I just give up and
use PowerPoint instead? What would you do?
Thanks

Hi FreddyU
you can simply publish your flash presentation as an exe file
by doing the following:
1- creating your flash file
2- from the file menu choose publish settings
3- In the Formats tab select Windows Projector(.exe) check
box and click publish button
4- You will find an exe file created in the same place you
saved the fla file in it and you can play it out of the IE of
course.
Hope it helps :)

  • Can't view swf files in browser

We recently reloaded our web server. Since the reload we can
no longer view swf files on our homepage. I'm not sure if it's ain
issue with IIS or with our files.
I've searched the forums and have verified the Scripts folder
is uploaded to our server. I've also tried removing the files and
reinserting them, nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?
    url is
    http://www.bardhvac.com/
    I've also attached the code.

    Hmmm....
I see what has happened. There are two different scripts
folder. One in c:\inetpub\scripts and one at
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\scripts. I was copying to the wwwroot one.
It appears that c:\inetpub\scripts is defined as a virtual
directory in IIS, therefore the code would have been targeting that
location instead of the one in wwwroot folder. Not quite sure why
it's a virutal directory, but looks like it has something to do
with our new version of SLmail (webmail application).
I copied the AC_RunActiveContent.js file to
c:\inetpub\scripts and gave read authority, the swf files now show
    on our website.
I'll need to look into this more. Thanks for your
    help!

  • Is there a plug-in to view swf. files?

Is there a plug-in for mac QT that allows viewing swf. files? I am a teacher and I want to be able to embed swf. files into powerpoint, which means I need QT to be able to read swf. I can find full apps that will do it, but it has to be QT to work in powerpoint since it uses QT as its engine.

Kirkster, give the security concern a break, you' ve posted this repeatedly, In the old Windows forum. No media player puts you at such a risk as QuickTime and iTunes do. If Mac computers can't play the files it's a problem  with Apple

  • Flash Container...to big when viewing SWF files

I have used Flash Professional  CS5.5, to make a SWF.file, that when I save as all, it also includes a FLA file. I use this SWF file in  Dreamweaver CS5.5 , Insert , Media, to view this I have set the Parameters name .swf, . When I select Live View, all runs ok, but how do you make the Flash grey box smaller that keep the swf pictures the same size….when I change any of the widths and heights the banner sow with very small pictures.

    Hello All,
for me it's very interesting, 'cause Adobe makes some differences. In the German forum you are allowed to load up files too, see screenshot:
Allowed are all file types and they are limited to 8.9 MB.
We could send this thing to the wishform adress.
    Sincerely,
    Hans-Günter

I so too can't understand why our questioner doesn't want to send a link. We're just nothing than normal users, Glen please don't worry.

  • Viewing FLV files offline

I am currently using Bridge CS3 to view all of my FLV files
    on my Mac.
Is there a dedicated player, or a plugin for Quicktime that
    will allow
me to view FLV files without having to open Bridge?
    Thanks.

I would NOT recommend you waste your time downloading Adobe Media Player, there are already numerous complaints about this player. It appears to let you 'download' the videos. There is a download screen in which you can see the progress of files being downloaded for 'offline' viewing and the files are stored in your application cache folder. They then show up as 'downloaded' ready for offline viewing.
However, the player MYSTERIOUSLY deletes these files later at some magical time, an hour or two hours or six.... later for some STRANGE UNEXPLAINED reason. In addition, you will not know which ones will be deleted. I had 20 episodes in m Flex course already downloaded. Of these all but two were deleted. You can prevent this, by going in the cache and copying the folder and then opeing the flv files directly.  This begs the question, why delete the files in the first place.
Despite many complaints made to adobe about this 'bug', nothing has been said, no replies received from Adobe. As a newby to Adobe development I take this a sign of the indifference this company is to a straighforward problem. What a waste of bandwidth, download quota, server time. Just LET US DOWNLOAD ONCE.
If you like, you can try using the media player but to prevent having to redownload the files a few hours later you can try to just copy the respective folder and do the annoying thing of opeining up the files.
    Thanks Adobe for ....

  • Viewing .swf files

My husband has a 'course' online that he is supposed to view and it's a .swf file (Shockwave) but even after installing Shockwave, he isn't able to view it. I was able to get Real Player (not sure why that worked) to view it, then upgraded to the latest Real Player and now it won't recognize the file. In fact on the webpage it has "View Video" and if we click on it it downloads the file to the desktop and we can't view it. Any ideas? Supposedly it can be viewed on IE, Firefox and Safari- tried them all but none work. Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving! Judy

Have you tried installing Adobe's latest Flash Player? If not, give that a try.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't view .swf files in Dreamweaver

I'm using CS3 versions of both Dreamweaver and Flash and when
I import a .swf file into dreamweaver it works perfect locally but
doesn't show at all when I've uploaded the file into my webspace.
What am I doing wrong? I never had this problem when I used the CS2
versions of both software and it's driving me absolutely nuts!!!
Any advice would be most gratefully received.

On the other hand, if it's not working in CS3, then there is
    an error
somewhere, since I know that CS3 does it properly....

  • Viewing RH7 files offline

Ok, let's say I've just created a small project in RH7. Could
someone let me know in simple everyday English, what steps a user
would go thru to retrieve these files if they do not have RH
installed on their computer and wanted to view these files without
    internet access.
I've received a lot of help ful info on this subject already,
but, alas, I'm new to this and need things spelled out a bit more.
    sigh...

Can we keep this all in one thread/
I have already answered this particular question.
The output options are printed or online.
Printed I explained would be a Word document that is made
available on their network. Earlier you said no internet and no
intranet. Now you say just no internet. If there is an intranet,
they could access it that way. If this output option is still
giving you concern, explain what you see as the difficulty in them
opening a Word document, or a PDF.
Online. I have explained that a CHM file would be on their
computer. They could double click it and it will open. They don't
need RH. More likely your developers will create links to it but
    that's another issue.
WebHelp could be on a server but you have to find out from
the developers where the help will be installed, then we can tell
you which is the correct form.
Talk to your developers about the help. They will have some
    knowledge of it.
There is basic information in the online help for RH but it
sounds like you really ought to be considering a training course.
    Will your company fund that?

  • Downloading .swf files instead of viewing them as a new tab

I use several browsers on several different machines, one is not able to access the internet for reasons unknown... so, I am using a laptop in the meantime.
My desktop would download .swf files (when clicked on) as default. the current browser merely opens them in a new tab.
the filetype is not in the options and i have almost all the same plugins (all relevant ones to my knowlege at least...)
i have the most recent version of the flash plugin

i know i can do it that way, but i want to know why my other firefox browser allows me to click the link to open it and it automatically downloads.

  • Can you play/view swf files on adobe air for android?

Hi, yes; I'm new here, as well as to Adobe Air, and I'm still trying to learn the ropes around here, and I apologize in advance if this has already been asked, or I have placed this question in the wrong forum.
The thing is, I was wondering if it was possible to play my SWF files via adobe air for android; and if so, how? Thanks in advance either way.

Can you please give directions where can i clear that cash.
Anyway i don`t think its the case, because this is first time i hooked phone to internet, and first time i launched Android app store.
    Edit:
I went to https://market.android.com and there is Adobe air app. But when i try to download it says that my device doesn't support it (Samsung Galaxy GT-I5500) By default it comes with android 2.1 and doesn't support Adobe air, but i upgraded firmware to 2.2.
Maybe that is the reason it doesn't show me Adobe AIR in app store - based on my phone, not my Android version ?

  • How can I view .inc files in split view on DW

I'm trying to view my INC files in split view using DW CC 2014.1.
I've managed this on older versions of DW by changing the extensions.txt and MMDocumentTypes.xml file.
However, that isn't working for me now.
Am I missing something for DW 2014.1?
    Thanks,

I've managed this on older versions of DW by changing the extensions.txt and MMDocumentTypes.xml file.
    Works for me.
Are you sure that you targeted the files in the correct directory as in Dreamweaver CC 2014.1?

  • Viewing Powerpoint files in quick view or any app

I cannot view powerpoint files from the mail application on my iPad Air (OS and apps up-to-date). When I tap to view I'm presented by a gray screen with the name of the file and the message "Office Open XML presentation" and then the size of the file in Kb. If I then try to open with another app, eg: Keynote or Powerpoint iPad edition then I get a message that the file is corrupted  -  that msg doesn't make sense. I used to be able to view PPT or PPTX no problem, it has started to happen since this last Christmas (not sure exactly when).

  • Is it possible to view swf files via Creative Cloud?

I usually use Dropbox for this purpose as it works well for sending preview links to clients - however I thought as I have far more space on CC it would be a better platform for me to do this, however the file format doesn't seem to be supported. Is There currently a way to view a full swf / flash animation via CC or is this functionality which you are planning to include in the future?
    thanks
    Linden

I am one of many i know, like above, that use dropbox to share links to clients. Some clients are starting to block access to dropbox and we are left trying to find new ways to send easy previews to clients. I thought i had a solution in creative cloud, especially when i could share just the swf, the only functionality missing is the actually playing of the swf. This would be a huge add. I know you say "may" be included in the future, but this should get changed to a must add.
