Visual composer not starting

Hi,
While trying to login to VC using url http://hostname:port/vc/default.jsp i am getting the below error message
Could not open workspace due to following error: Kit Manifest is bad or missing
More Info:
Failed to invoke the function : 'actionKitsmanifest' of the remote service: 'LibManager'.

Hi Sandeep,
Just to valdiate, the URL for VC is http://hostname:port/VC/default.jsp (Note the upper case VC).
Also, you must have MXSML core libraries in order for it to work.You can download it from here I personally chose the MSI option for the download and went with the defaults.

Hi Folks,
We are having issues connecting to the Services registry from the Visual Composer. The search on services in the services registry does not yield any results.

I had the same problem with my service registry. In Web Visual Composer, i didn't find any service in SR.
I resolve in two ways.
Configure the service registry in NWDS, there works fine, but i have problem with DC in VC in NWDS.
I use destination WSIL, with this destination i have found all the services

BAPI table input parameters for Visual Composer not working?

I am using a BAPI with table input parameters (2 input fields for the table). I tested the BAPI in ecc function builder (it works as planned). However, it doesn't work in Visual Composer using the same input values (not getting any error messages). Is this a bug in VC 7.0? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The data service at a time can execute only one input data.
it will not handle too many inputs at time otherwise all the input ports should have same submit action then it is possible to Execute multiple input forms data .
When you are mapping the input form and the dataservice ,give the same event like this *submit for both Inputforms

Visual Admin not Starting

Hello,,
I am unable to log into my Visual admin. It says "Cannot open connection on host: 64.13.232.162 & port:51004" .
I dont know which host it is referring to??? That IP is not our servers IP.
I referred many forums andI checked Port Number on Config Tool. Its correct & i tried with different Transport Layer options but nothing is working??
Any help on this???

First check the Java stack is up or not.
If java is up do the following
open the visual admin
In the connect to sap j2ee Engine screen
Select new
select the lookup method Via message Server
Display name as Test click Next
username : provide J2ee_admin
host : localhost
HTTP Port : 81(scs instance number) which is java instance number
click save
select test and click on connect .
It will direct to the correct Port
Give the password and u will login to visual admin

Visual Admin not starting up

i installed Nw SAP 7.0.1,when i trying to login to visual admin or config tool, the path is not working,i set the path for java, but it showing error

Hi,
If installation completed sucessful, login to sap visual admin will work, if not set the java path correctly your installation will be failed.
check whether j2ee process SDM is running are not , if its not running you can't loging to visual Admin.

Zero Fill and Upper Case in Visual Composer not working

Hello,
I am building my first VC application and hit a small wall from get go. When I create input fields and set text formats for one to have "Zero Fill" and for the other one "Upper Case" they do not seem to work properly.
Zero Fill does not work at all. I set this format and also set max length as 10 to be used as input for customer account #. But it does not perform conversion. When I call a BAPI to get customer list, if I enter 0000000100 it works. When I enter 100 it does not work. Thus "Zero Fill" does not take effect.
"Upper case" works but only after refresh. If I enter ac10 as company code and then click submit it does not work. However if after entering ac10 I press enter and then submit, it work.
Does anyone have any info on how to deal with this? We are using VC 7.0

Now I got your problem. I suggest a solution for it.
Go to the design board of VC.
I think you have an Input Form that contains the input fields and the Submit button. There will be a link named "submit"between the Input Form & the Data Service(say BAPI). Click on the submit link, you will get the Input Fields & Assigned values of the Input Form at the bottom right side. Go to the Assigned Value of the particular field & apply a formula like UPPER(@inputfield). So now whatever case you give in the inputfield, it is converted to UPPER case before Submiting the values.Keep the Upper Case option checked at the formatting tab of the Input field properties, this will help to display the value in Upper case.
For eg, BAPI_BANK_GETLIST, the input fields are BANK_CTRY & MAX_ROWS.
Make the assigned value of bank_ctry as UPPER(@BANK_CTRY), you can get this with the help of formula.
This will solve your problem.

Visual Composer services are not found

Hi there,
I have installed SAP NetWeaver 2004S SR 1 according to the installation guide which was included in the installation files. After installation of the system (excluding MaxDB Database Manager and SQL Studio) I started the server. After that I installed Adobe SVG Viewer and tried to start Visual Composer by calling http://localhost:50100/VC. When I do so, I get two error messages stating Server Error: Visual Composer services are not found and This product requires MSXML Parser v4.0. What am I doing wrong?

mh...strange.
I used the VC on our old server with my notebook without a problem (great tool!).
Now we have a new server with a new NW 04s SP10 (very fresh installed ) and there I get the "Server Error: Visual Composer services are not found" and "This product requires MSXML Parser v4.0" errors.
Unfortunately I cannot test it on the old server, because it was a interim system.

How to get started with visual composer 6.0??????

I have downloaded the setup.exe from service.sap.com. But after installing it i am not being able to view any of the element in the different tabs like.....define properties, select data services, define fields, design the views, add elements.......the window is completely blank.....moreover after starting visual composer 6.0....there is an error displayed in the IE status bar......the error is "Object doesn't support this property or method"......thank you very much......

All you need are SVGViewer 3.0, from http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/main.html,
and MS XML Parser 4.0, from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&DisplayLang=en.

2. However, as the data source in Visual Composer a connector MDM does not appear.
3. This problem affects all types of connectors, but the Web Service Connector. Connector Web Service is always there.

P.S. The role of the creator of the connector is the same user of Visual Composer

Date type is not captured in Visual composer 7.0 using SQL server as DB

Date type is not captured in Visual composer 7.0 when using SQL server as DB, and field type is "SmallDateTime" in DB.

Not able to deploy a visual composer model

Hi All,
i am having an visual composer model which is developed and working in one portal.
And when i try to deploy the same model in another portal ( same version and patch )it is throwing some error which is mentioned in one of the <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/936390">SAP Note 936390</a>.
Branch between 7824 and 40595 around line 0 exceeds 32K span
But my question it is the problem in nesting views, then it should not even work on the portal where it has been developed.
Please let me know if there is anything to be done to make it deployed in the new portal.
