Iam new to EHS module..How to insert VOC in g/l specification symbols..?

VOC Value Assignment is Volatile Organic Compounds.
I did test at my end and results are fine. I am able to pull the value of "VOC in g/l" from specificaiton workbench.
The process of fetching the value of VOC is similar to any other Value Assignment Type.
Code is as follows,

Also, make sure that, the Validity area of the Specificaiton and the validity area of the Generation Varient are matching.
Note: WWI server should be up and running.

VOC shipping control and restrictions-approach?

Hello experts,
We are implementing the VOC shipping control and restrictions.
It could be possible to implement this with SVT notification check and specification database with expert server.But it will be very complex solution, since the managing data from legacy will be a challenge. Is there any implementation documentation available on this approach?
There may be some better solution available.Is there any standard solution in ECC 6.0 for this?

I can not "confirm" your finding/Statement. A solution scenario like:
"It could be possible to implement this with SVT notification check and specification database with expert server" is stable and robust and not complex (from my point of view)
To use EHS (with e.g. SVT and other subapplications) is a suitable solution approach to context of VOC (but it does not cover all of the VOC aspects (refer below and pay attention with VOC term !)

VOC does have a lot of "unknown" topics on the top; there are a lot of regulations in place in VOC are; but thgey do not all have "complete" overlap in their demands; some of them extend the demandto a chemical company acting (e.g. Switzerland is a good example); here it is on the top a "Tax" issue (therefore it is not 100% related to Environment Health and Safety topics (which is EHS).
Conclusion: the legislation in regards of VOC is quite complex ! (refer to the links as shown (only examples; you will find more !))

Is there a way to make Color understand Cyrillic symbols in file names?

When I'm working with any clips, that have non-latin symbols in their file names, Color names them with some system-specific symbols, and every file is named in a very inconvenient way.
The files are named so weirdly, that I really can't understand which file stays for what. May be there is any way to specify some kind of "codepage" for color, or even make it to work in Unicode?

Do those file names appear correctly in the the Finder and other apps?

Urgent: Posting to different Symbolic Accounts for the same Wage Type

Hi Everyone,
Assuming that I have a Wage Type and 2 sets of Symbolic Accounts tied to their respective Chart of Accounts (belong to 2 different companies).
When I go to the configuration node "Define posting characteristics of wage types" in SPRO, under Payroll, I have assigned Symbolic Account 1234 (which belongs to Chart of Accounts A) and Symbolic Account 6789 (which belongs to Chart of Account B) to Wage Type 1000.
When I execute the Transaction for Posting to Accounting (PC00_M99_CIPE), I get an error (Message: Posting Balance is not cleared). After exploring the log, i notice that both Symbolic Accounts appeared.
How do i ensure that only the specific Symbolic Account is being posted?
Take for example that the employee belongs to Company A.

U can post to different accounts for same wage type but NOT symbolic accounts!
Do as follows:
1)-Define employee grouping account determination(PPOMD feature)
2)-Define symbolic accounts
3)-Assigning Accounts
When doing 3rd step, click "RULE" button and select "Employee group".
By doing so you can posting same WT to different Accounts according to different employee grouping , like below:

Export Specific Timelines (Main, Nested, Frame counts)

It seems that every Flash file exports the main timeline in its entirety.
Is there a way to choose to export jpeg sequences, mov's, and swf's of:
- Specific ranges of frames
- Specific timelines within a symbol only?
- Specific ranges of frames within a specific symbol?
- Specific layers of specific timelines within specific symbols?
This flexibility would be great but I'm not sure if there's a way to do it. It seems like a pretty basic feature. Anyone?

Does a Flash library symbol search extension exist that can search across multiple files?

Hi, I'm working on a large animation project with an extensive symbol library that exists across multiple files. I would like to know if such a tool exists that can search between all of these files for specific symbols. This would save me a great deal of time and I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Now, I am trying on the click function to show specific symbol on the stage, for example when click on the first item the symbol red will appear, if cliked the second item the (previous symbols that was appeared will be hided) and the new symbol blue will appear. Symbols disapear between 2 monitors

Hello evryone,
I am having troubles with my animation. I am working with 2 monitors (1Laptop + 1montior 23").
When I play my animation on the laptop, there is no problem, but when i play it on the other monitor, 2 symbols disapear during the animation.
It only happens with Chrome navigator. It works fine with Firefox and IE.
Also if I open first the animation on the laptop screen and then drag it to the other monitor without closing the window, it seems to work fine as well.
It happens since I created 5 more symbols in my animation. When i delete those 5 symbols, then the animation works well again and the 2 symbols don't disapear anymore (sorry if it s not clear)
So i am wondering if it can be a problem with the number of elements in my animation (about 40) or if it s a problem with some specific symbols. But I realy wonder why it is working with one monitor but not on the other one...
Any idea about a solution ?

To inform that the problem was about Chrome..
Chrome is my default navigator and it looks like it didn't really like the pre-visualization of my project (Ctr+Enter).
I understood it comes from Chrome when i try an animation which was sudenly not working well anymore without changing anything in the project.
So i tried to clear and clean the chrome data. There were still some problems so finaly i removed Chrom and installed it again, and it works fine now.
Maybe i did to many "Ctr+Enter". Maybe an issue with the local cache.

Addressing dynamically created symbols

I'm not sure what's the best way to address a specific dinamically created symbol because I don't see in Edge's API any way to get the symbol's instance name. The .getSymbol() method would be the easiest way to do it, but it takes the symbol "instance" name and I don't know which one it is. When I use .createChildSymbol() I just pass the symbol "type" name and the parent element name to be put inside but nothing about the symbol instance name that's been created. The .getChildSymbols() method doesn't help much because it retrieves "all" direct children instances found, and I have more than one and of different types.
I need to get one specific symbol among several I created dinamcally, so how should I do it best?
I'm thinking about using .getChildSymbols() and loop through them all, get the DOM of each symbol with .getSymbolElement(), then use the "class" attribute to at least identify the different types of children symbols retrieved. I now have a subset of children-brothers (symbols of the same type = class) and I can walk through them. At this point, my only hope to distiguish them is the z-index parameter I passed when I created the symbols using .createChildSymbol().
One other option would be to "save" the returned handler to each symbol created with .createChildSymbol() in an object like this { symbol: handler, name: "any name", created: "date/time", ... } and save them in an array of objects.
Any better ideas?

It's just annoying you can get a symbol manually added to your edge animation by its "name" using .getSymbol(), but there is not an easy way to use that function with a dinamically created symbol
May be are you also an AS3 coder used to search through the display list accessing display objetc containers either by index (getChildAt()) or by name (getChildByName()).
mySym.aSymbolInstances will give you an array with all "names" when you create symbols with .createChildSymbol().

For a manually instantiated symbol symB, nested in symA, itself instantiated in the Stage Symbol, the fully qualified name (ID) is Stage_symA_symB.
It's useful to write a global function for the behavior (on click for example) shared by a group of buttons, provided you adopt a naming convention btn1, btn2, etc. Passing the event objet to that function, you can then recover the number of the clicked button via
evt.target.getAttribute("ID").substr()
This abstraction avoids duplicating the same code (differing only by the button number) on each button.

Copyright of logos using illustrator symbols

Hi, I am racking my brain over copyright of a logo I am designing. If I use an Illustrator symbol in the logo, do I retain full copyright of the logo? Presumably not, because that restrictions other people's ability to use that symbol in their own logos. Does anyone know the rules? Thanks for your help!

But by doing so, you have not copyrighted the Helvetica glyph forms. In fact, type glyph shapes have been ruled not-copyrightable--and your example is probably one reason why. (A perhaps unfortunate, but unavoidable consquence is the proliferation of poorly-constructed knock-off fonts.)
But graphic
are copyrightable, and therefore another matter. If Leah uses a graphic supplied with Illustrator as part of a "logo", Leah cannot claim copyright of that graphic, because that graphic is
licensed to Leah as part of the software, not
owned by Leah, and certainly not
created by Leah.
Especially if the Illustrator-supplied graphic is the primary (or even a major) element of the overall "logo", I doubt that Leah could claim a copyright of the whole design.
Even if the graphic is not a major element, there is the whole matter of "derivitive works." If you take a graphic copyrighted by someone else, and use it as the basis for another work, your work can easily be deemed a "derivitve work" and you are subject to penalty. Not that Adobe would pursue someone for doing that with a piece of clipart they supply with software, of course--but that still doesn't change the question of whether Leah can rightly claim copyright of the derivitive work.
A derivitive work may be "your work", but that doesn't mean that the owner of the work from which it is derived can't lay claim to at least part of an monetary value gained from it. (There is a famous case of just that sort of thing involving a derivitive work that actually appeared on the cover of a particular version of Corel Draw's software box!)
Moreover, though, Leah, I'd advise you to consider the simple professionalism of the matter above the legal questions. A proper logo design should be
original because it should be
unique--especially if by "logo" you mean one that is done for hire.
'Course I'm no more a lawyer than I assume Scott is; the above is just as I understand it--but it also seems to me commensurate with good sense. There is no way I would charge a client for a work which included clip art that I didn't draw--as a proper logo design.
Also, Leah has not described the specific Symbol graphic at all. A Symbol can be anything. It could be nothing more than a square rotated 45 degrees (a graphic no one could claim copyright to), or it could be as elaborate as a city map of San Francisco.

It's hard to type e-mail's without čćžšđ because there are words that have diferent meaning when typed without these symbols.

How can I Change Asset names for swapped images in duplicated symbols?

I have what seems to be a bug in edge animate cc2014 in following circumstances:
1. Duplicate a symbol
2. Drag duplicate symbol onto stage.4
3. Rename symbol
4. Click to edit symbol
5. Select an image inside the symbol
6. In properties panel change path to swap the image to be used in this instance of the duplicated symbol ( I need to reuse this symbol many times and not being able to change asset names is a real problem!).
7. The names for the asset in both the timeline and the elements were auto generated at the time of duplication when try to change the names they revert back to the auto generated names.
How can I overcome this problem which is clearly a bug or a poorly thought through bit of programming by an otherwise highly competent adobe edge animate tesm

Again, incorrect. It's not about how I can address a specific symbol with code - no problems there - it's what the composition loads into the symbol. Try it with some complex component or sub- symbols.
Work-Around for using Duplicated and Revised symbols (symbol variants) in the SAME document. Solution.
Tedious, but easy. Low risk. Edge Animate 2014.1.1
When you duplicate a symbol comprised of symbols itself ("sub-symbols"), only the outermost symbol gets a unique name, not it's component inner symbols. Upon import of additional variants, a unique name is created in the Library/Symbols panel for the inner symbols, yet the references in the outer symbol can't update to use those unique inner-symbol names. Therefore, the composition loads the symbol with the matching name. This will be the first variant to be imported.
Make the Duplicate
Duplicate the symbol in the Library/Symbol Panel. Rename. Export.
Prepping the Symbol
Open a new document, import and place the new symbol.
Select the asset to be switched/replaced. Make the switch in the property panel. Properties/Images/Swap button. (I revised my base or source symbol to have different colored background images. This is how I created 4 color variants.)
Save the new document, of course. "Example1.an"
Export the revised symbol from the Library/Symbol Panel for safe keeping.
Return to Example1.an
Elements Panel: Work through the nested symbols, adding a preceding identifier to all symbols in the heirarchy.
*KEEP IT SIMPLE so you can easily and quickly move through the .js files in the following steps.*
Save Example1.an.
Library/Symbols Panel: Go down the list, renaming all the symbols with the same preceding identifier as was used in the Elements Panel. *I advise to stay parallel with the Elements panel. Change as little as possible.*
Disregard any odd appearance you may see on the stage for now.
Save Example1.an
Revising the Code
In Edge Code, also part of the Creative Cloud suite, or any code editor, open the two .js files for "Example1.an." found in the same folder...Edge.js and ...EdgeActions.js

find "symbolName" - prepend with the identifier whatever is not already prepended.
at the same time, look for "id" nearby - prepend with the identifier whatever is not already prepended.
Save
...EdgeActions.js
First read the grey comments about not degrading the //Edge Comments.
Search the document for "//Edge symbol" - prepend whatever is not already prepended.
Carefully check all the orange text, prepending the symbol names you find. This same code can be seen in your Code Panel with the "Full Code" button.
Save
Return to Edge Animate
When prompted to Reload, say yes.
Save Example1.an
EXPORT your new top level symbol - now a fully separated asset.Now you have created a fully unique symbol, which can be used in conjunction with other variants in the same document.
Import your new, unique symbol variant it into your real document.
This is the solution if your Symptoms are:
I duplicated symbols to make different variations, but now I can't use the duplicated symbol variants together.
When I try to swap images in a duplicated symbol, it succeeds when used alone, but reverts when used with the original symbol.
My duplicated symbol works properly alone, but not when it is used with the original symbol.
My symbol seems to revert to the original source symbol.
