Volume gain fluctuation problem in iPad(random decreasing/increasing volume) with audio monitoring enabled.
I have one bass track and a drums track picked from loops and when playing the guitar(iPad2 with apogee jam connected) with monitoring enabled I get gain fluctuation problems(random decreasing/increasing volume, some times mute). When I stop playing the guitar audio feedback gets back to normal.
Any idea?
Hi George Ward2
I'm wondering if you accidentally or unintentionally locked the audio in a segment/s where you intended to fade up or down. Altho you say it plays fine when you review it in iMovie. The place to review it is in iDVD. However adjustments are made in iMovie for the actual audio and video. Here's what I found in the Help Menu for iMovie since there isn't much info on the iDVD portion of the help menu for the same symptoms:
Making your movie louder or softer:
If you find that all or part of your movie is too loud or too soft, you can adjust the volume of your movie in the timeline viewer. You can increase or decrease the volume of the entire movie or just specific audio clips. For example, at a certain point in a video you might dramatically increase or decrease the volume of accompanying music.
IMPORTANT: These instructions are for setting the volume of video that people will hear as they play your movie. If you only want to adjust the volume of your computer's speakers, see "Adjusting the volume of your computer in iMovie HD" below.
To make your movie louder or softer:
Click the Timeline Viewer button (shown above).
Select the clip or clips whose volume you want to change in the timeline viewer.
Tip: To learn how to select multiple clips, see "Selecting clips" below.
Click the clip volume button (shown below), and then drag the slider to adjust the volume.
Tip: You can also type a new percentage in the field next to the clip volume button to adjust volume.
You can also make finer audio adjustments within a clip. For more information, see "Fading audio up or down."
Just out of curiosity .... is the source audio 12 bit or 16 bit?
Hope this is helpful and good luck.

Inconsistent audio volumes with audio inserted via Properties panel and Audio menu
My course includes audio imported using the Audio menu (Import to Slide). On a few slides that have Captivate 6 Interactions, I had to include the audio using the Properties panel so the audio would play during the course of the entire slide and not pause when the Interaction appears.
The issue I'm having is, the audio inserted using the Audio menu plays at a lower volume than the audio inserted using the Properties panel. All audio files were recorded at the same time using Adobe Audition, so the volume level should be the same.Yes, we are having the same issue, calling up a video on Netflix and having zero audio. Seemingly random, yet consistent. If we try the movie a week or month later, it still has no audio. We have a newer Television, have the HDMI cord, optical audio, state of the art. We're upgraded to the latest. So .....what's up Apple?

IPad and iPhone not working with a monitor
I tried to get my iPad and iPhone to play Netflix on a Acer 20inch monitor. It started to work than stopped. I got a message that the display connected display is not sponsored. It there a download that is available to have my monitor display video.
I have them connected with a VGA connector. I functions for a bit then I get the non support message.Do you mean per app? Have done for calendar on iphone, but reluctant to do so on ipad as that's the one that contains loads of updates (as it means deleting everything on the ipad?)... if I have to do this I will eventually, its just that as it's both my iphone and ipad involved, it seems like it might be more likely to be an icloud issue? She said hopefully...

OSX Mavericks Keeps Restarting at Random Times When Connected with External Monitors
Starting today, my MacBook Pro started crashing with the below panic report. It appears to only happen when I connect external monitors to the Thunderbolt port. I've been using multiple monitors for the last 6 months without issue.
Thanks in advance.

my ipad randomly shut off and when i go to turn it on it shows a cord connecting to the itunes symbol, my ipad is not disabled by the way. has anyone else had this problem? if so does anyone know how to fix it?
Glitchs like that sometimes happen
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If sit still reocurrs a lot, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

IPhone Volume Randomly Decreases
Maybe someone can help, or is having a similar problem: I've noticed that after using Siri, (for anything), the volume of my phone goes way down (including the ringer) yet it says full volume when I try to turn the volume up again.
The only thing that fixes it is a reset or a reboot. Is anyone else having this problem too? That's exacly what mine sounds like, almost as if there's an alert. Using the headphones does fix the problem. I hope Apple comes up with a fix for this, it's quite annoying to have to use headphones just to use Siri without messing up my volume.

Screen problem making iPad unusable
My iPad2 is 15 month old and has developed a strange screen problem. It seems to have developed a mind of its own, typing ahead with random characters, doing its own thing when scrolling and trying to select in apps. Two days ago Apple support said restore to factory settings which I did. Same problem came back. Yesterday Apple support said the same thing which again I did. Same problem came back Today Apple support say it's a hardware issue out of warranty. We had a polite discussion about EU legislation but to cut a long story short, they basically said "sorry about that, but there is nothing our policies will let us do, you're on your own"
Not exactly the response I hoped for. So I've now got an iPad that is basically useless, unless I want to use it as a door stopper.
My business made a strategic commitmnt to Apple in Mid 2011 and this iPad was part of our shift away from PC/Windows. It's the first time I have needed to deal with Apple Support, and while each of the people I have spoken to have been professional, understanding and helpful, they have been unable / not allowed to assist any further.
Yes, we could have taken out Apple Care Agreements. We chose not to on the basis of 2 year statutory warranty and Apple's reputatiuon for reliability. Seems I made a big mistake here and am left wondering if we made the right decision in going down the Apple route. Our investment in Apple hardware and software is massive for an SME and our workflow depends on iPads.
I'm left with a problem. Thanks Apple.
I'm still a fan but my blinkers have been removed. No longer will you be giveen the benefit of the doubt when you screw up - Maps, WiFi etc - as you have had a direct and negative impact on my business and missed a chance to keep a very happy customer on board.
Does it help to post this? Not really, but it's off my chest. And you are within your "rights" to post this. But you do realize that we are not Apple employees - correct? We are just other users like yourself. If you feel that you have been treated unjustly, move up the Apple chain of command. Politely demand to speak to the next higher up and go from there.

help, are you having the same problem? iPad 2 calendar, can't get the month of March, can get days in March, but not month view. Any suggestions, thank u.
Hi melbernai - not sure if you've solved this problem yet. I had the exact same problem recently with my 2nd Gen iPod Nano. I solved it yesterday by simply updating iTunes to the most recent version, after which I could get rid of the register screen. The only other thing I needed to do to add my custom playlists was select "Manually manage music" on the screen for my iPod, since it had been in an automatic synching mode since the problem occurred.

My iPhone 5 is not being recognized by my iMac. All my other devices, including iPod and iPad are recognized with no sync problems. I've tried every approach with online help as well as an Apple advisor by phone. Help? Any other suggestions other than going to an Apple Store?
Back to life**
Oh I know there are many other vocabulary mistakes but never mind them I was just too excited when I wrote all of that while typing very quickly
P.S: if you have any question then ask and please do tell me if it works or not with u but I'm definitely sure it'll work so tell me this and we'll get excited together
Also if you have an experience to share then do share it as well please.

Problems syncing iPad or iPad Mini with iTunes......
It all started when I tried to download some items bought on iTunes onto my iPad 2. For some reason it kept going through the download sequence then at the last moment they failed. Unfortunately I was nowhere near my computer at the time. After a couple of appointments at the Genius Bar I found I could download the items if the iPad was set up from 'New' - not much use as I wanted all my old apps back on. I sold the iPad in favour of an iPad Mini and had access to a computer too. Again, I could not download bought media from the Cloud but additionally I found I couldn't sync other Movies and TV Shows through iTunes.
The common denominator was my iCloud account - more specifically my iPad back-up on iCloud (my iPhone worked fine). If I set up an iPad as a 'New Ipad' during a complete and full restore then transferring media with iTunes was OK. However, as soon as I did a restore from my iCloud back up, iTunes and iPad refused to 'talk'. It seemed there was something corrupt in my iPad's iCloud account. The only solution was to delete that part of the account and 'reinstall' it. Here is how I achieved it on iTunes 11.0.2;
1. Carry out an iCloud back up (just in case!).
2. Plug iPad into computer/iTunes.
3. On the iPad Summary page, select to back up to computer (encrypt back-up is up to you).
4. Click the button to 'Back Up Now'.
5. On the top menu bar select 'File', then 'Devices', then 'Transfer Purchases From ****'s iPad'. This can take some time depending on the size of the iPad.
6. At this point all the iPad settings and apps should all be saved (and on iCloud too!).
7. On the iPad Summary page click to restore iPad. At this point the computer may have to download the operating system from the internet first which can take a time depending on your internet connection.
8. Once restore is complete follow instructions on computer/iPad UNTIL.....
9. .....when it offers to set up iPad as New or from iCloud or Computer back up ensure you select COMPUTER BACK-UP.
10. Again, it will take an age as all the settings and app transfer back onto your iPad.
11. Once done have a go at transferring some media such as a film or TV show and all should be good now.
If happy then its time to ditch that iCloud problem....
12. on the iPad go into 'Settings', then 'iCloud', then 'Storage & Backup', then 'Manage Storage' and there should be a list devices that back-up to the iCloud. Select the correct iPad that you have been having problems with.
13. At the bottom of the page is the option to 'Delete Backup'. Select this and that should be your 'problem' gone.
14. I at this stage restarted the iPad and computer and made sure all was well and they were still 'talking' to each other.
15. If you wish you can then go ahead and re-establish an iCloud back-up of your iPad. Once the backup is complete do one final check to ensure iTunes and iPad 'talk' properly.
JOB DONE!! (Hopefully!!)Some of the suggestions in this support article might help.
iOS Device Not Recognized in iTunes for Windows.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If this happens to me - I quit iTunes, restart my Mac, restart the iPad and then try again and that always works for me. It's a little different in the Windows OS because there are a number of other issues that can be causing this problem, but you have nothing to lose with the "restart everything" approach. -

I have updated my I pad dut I'm still having problems my iPad seems to freeze and when I go to put in my pin it take a few seconds before the numbers go in and my games stop and start and stop and start for a bit before they run properly
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.
Cheers, Tom
