Want to send and receive imessages only at my ph number
I'm unable to do this. Currently it shows that I'm capable of receiving/sending via my ph number and my apple id email. I just want to be reached by imessage at my mobile number. I tried removing it but I get the error "This email address could not be removed". Looks like a bug. Is there a workaround to removing the email?
Thanks!
Do you have another device with that email/Apple ID on it with iMessage activated? If not, you should be able to remove the checkmark for the email address. You cannot remove the Apple ID email address, but you can turn it off by tapping on it and that should remove the checkmark. Once that is gone, you are good to go. It will only use the phone number.

Difficulties sending and receiving iMessages
Is anyone else having difficulties sending and receiving iMessages since installing IOS 7? Mine just keep saying "sending..." In the end I am having to send them as text messages to get them through.
I had hoped the recent fix would resolve the issue, but it hasn't. Text messages seem to be ok, the problem is with iMessage.
Any suggestions on how to over come this?
Many thanks
SLCIt seems that Apple is aware of the issue and working already on a fix for that that should be released "immediately"

IOS 8 - send and receive iMessages
With iOS 7, I used to be able to receive iMessages at two phone numbers. There was an option under iMessage - Send and Receive. I used that to monitor my son's messages. Now with iOS 8, I can only see my phone number under Send and Receive, and some email addresses, other phone lines under the same iCloud account are not listed anymore. Does anybody know how to fix that? Thank you very much.
go to settings, general, reset, reset all settings. this causes the phone to reset and finishes installing certain iOS 8 features in iMessage like self destruct, etc. and will fix any glitches you're having. it has worked for myself and everyone else I have shared it with.

My phone number is not coming up as an option for sending and receiving imessages
My phone number is not coming up as an option for sending and receiving imessages
You do not have a "phone number". Your ipad has a cellular access number and can't make phone calls.
You must use your apple ID email for imessage and FaceTime on iPad. -

Send and Receive iMessages: Phone number is greyed out
I just updated to IOS8...then iTunes informed me i had to restore my phone, so I did and now my phone will only send/receive texts to my email or iCloud account. It won't work to choose my phone number, it is greyed out.
Please help!!Hi there brosterl,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage
Phone number missing on iPad or iPod touch
If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.
If your phone number still isn't listed, follow these steps:
Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, including your iPhone, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At and Settings > FaceTime.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your other iOS devices.

My phone will send and receive iMessages except for one contact
hello?
Hello Danielx566,
It sounds like your phone is not charging at all and is now unable to turn on because of it. I recomend these troubleshooting steps in the following article named:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,
Sterling
