  • Error while applying Java Patch 16 on WAS 640 ABAP+JAVA

    Hello Masters,
I am in process of applying Patch 16 to my BW 3.5 WAS 640 ABAP+JAVA systems.  I have successfully applied ABAP patch level to 16.  Now I am applying to J2EE Patch 16 to system. I did prerequisite check and everything is okay.  Platform - Sun Solaris 9, Oracle 9.2.0.6.  When I click on apply Patch 16, it goes thru central instance profile, java home directory okay. After this it is asking me to supply file for JCE and I gave path for file "jce_policy-1_4_2.zip".  after that it extracts this file to Java_home/jre and at point when it tries to extract visual.dat, it throws following error :

    Hello Digesh,
The firt thing please go to os level prompt for <SID>adm user and type echo $JAVA_HOME. What is the value that is reflected after issuing the above.
Also please check that your SAP-J2EE instance is running properly or not.
The JCE is used for Weak and strong encryption.
Also please check the instance.properties file. Does it contain proper parameter as per your SAP installation.

  • How to upgrade Forms 11gR2 to use JAVA 7 after it was installed with JAVA 6

I recently installed Forms 11gR2 on a development server.  We are trying to have the latest versions of everything to migrate from Forms 10g and assure we have support for the next few years.
Our platform has the following software configuration:
    Solaris 10 (Update 19) SPARC 64 bits
Weblogic 11g (10.3.6) that was installed with Java JDK 1.6.0_38
Forms 11g R2 (11.1.2.1) that was also installed with
    Java JDK 1.6.0_38
I tried to install Weblogic and Forms using the latest Java 7 JDK (1.7.0_25) but I got an error in the final steps of Forms setup, when I was configuring the domain.  I searched online and found a couple of tips but nothing worked.  The installation was stuck at the
Creating Weblogic Domain step.  So I decided to try the installation process with the Java 6 JDK that we are using right now for Forms 10g, and it worked perfectly.  I have now two options but I don't know which one might be the better path:
Uninstall Weblogic and Forms 11g completely, and try to re-install them again with Java 7, trying to fix the error that I got at the end of the configuration process.
Try to upgrade the current Forms 11g installation from Java 6 to Java 7.  I found a blog that might suggest it is possible, but I don't know if it may cause additional issues along the road. http://pitss.com/us/2013/02/20/how-to-use-java-7-with-oracle-forms-11g-in-an-oracle-supported-environment/
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have, or if any of you has experience installing Forms 11gR2 with Java 7 it might be great to know how to fix this error.  It might be worth mentioning that when I installed Forms and Weblogic with Java 6 I used exactly the same values, ports, options and paths.  The error appears like this in the installation logs and the process hangs there:

Well if I got it to work with java 6 I'd leave it alone, to say the least. The elephant in the room is the certification matrix.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/overview/index.html
there's 2 issues, what jdk does forms on the server want? Bigger question, what JRE is acceptable on the client?
You would surely want the jre to be 7 on the client. Regarding the jdk on the server, you could leave it as is IMHO.
Note that there was a patch to 11gr2. In conclusion, be sure to check the cert matrix regarding what is certified for the jdk for the server.
I think the matrices are saying that if you have forms 11.1.2.1.0 that you can use the jdk 7. but like I said the big issue is what can the client use?
As I read the matrix I think it is saying you have to have 11.1.2.1.0 to use the jre 7 on the client.
So I would say if you have 11.1.2.1.0 on the server you are good because it's not a problem to have the jdk 6 on the server, if not you have to apply the patch in order to enable the jre 7 on the client.

  • Install of WAS 6.40 java on windows no windows services created

We are trying to install a NW04 SR1 WAS on windows. The latest Install Master CD download now requires Oracle 10. The Oracle 10 install is the first part of the install process. The Note number 949116  says to use the procedure for the Oracle install in the NW 2004s SR1 install guide.
We have followed these instructions and after running the Oracle installer via sapserver.cmd we get a successful completion with 0 byte error file.
We are installing over Remote Desktop as a user who is a member of the local Admin group.
But the only windows service created is iSQL.
I tried using both mstsc & mstsc /console but the services are still not created.
Has anyone had the same problem?
    Regards
    Chris

    Thanks for your help Gopal
The documentation is very bad on this process so for anyone who is following the the upgrade of R/3 internet sales from J2EE Engine 6.20.
    Use the following;
6.20/6.40 based products Installation Master (Edition Sept. 2006) Number 51032143
Download IGS, SCS, Crypto Lib & SAP:J2EE-CD:640SR1:J2EE-CD::
Download Oracle 10, 5 files rebuild cd by clicking on the.exe file
Install Oracle 10 (Don't expect to see an operational RDBMS i.e no services)
Install NW04s SR1 java via Install Master SAPInst
Install CRM Component ISA R/3 via Install Master SAPInst
    Hope this helps

  • New Server for Preview SAP WAS ABAP and Java

    Hi
I wish to purchase a new PC or server to specifically house my ABAP and Java preview installations rather than have them running on an old PC and laptop.
Anyone out there got some recommended configurations?  Max spend will be £1500.
    Cheers
    Ian

    Ian,
Personally I wouldn't be happy running a server 24/7 at home but would want to just switch it on and the server start so would be looking to have some sort of script to run the relevant WAS instances automatically on startup.
160Gb hard drives would be ample. Could consider increasing the storage and then the system could double up as a backup device as well as a SAP server.
I've built systems in the past and that's the approach I'd take for this too. I don't mind buying pre-built systems but I
detest all the rubbish software they bundle with them. If you build it yourself you can install just Windows and it'll run like a dream.
    This bundle looks interesting:
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-039-OK
The motherboard takes four memory modules so the 2Gb would consume two of these allowing for upgrades in the future if deemed necessary. Add in a couple of HD's, a DVD-RW, a cheap gfx card and a case and you'd easily get change from £800. Could spend a bit more to get more silent components too.
Now I've had a look around and priced them up I'm even more tempted!!!
    Cheers,
    JB

  • Make V2.0 of an Android App while V1.0 was made by JAVA!

    Hi there!
it might be a simple question but I just don't have any experience in this case.
There is an App in Google play created one year back (by another designer) using JAVA (I suppose!)
Now I have re-designed that APP (from scrach as Version 2.0) using Flash CS6.
They want it to be concidered as an Ungrade Version (from V1.0 to V2.0) to let users receive an upgrade notification on their devices.
They have provided me the last version KeyStore file (and it's password)
The problem is, that file has no extention  (i.e it is not .p12 as needed by flash). So how should I use that KeyStore file to build my APK in Flash cs6 so that Google Play accept it as an Upgrde to the previous version??
By the way I just tried to add .p12 extention to that KeyStore file, but it was not acceptable by flash.
Should I convert this to .p12? if yes how?? or should I merge a code in the XML file? if yes what??
Thanks a lot for any comments and best of all.
    Ali

    Colinnnnnnnnnnn!!!!
the main par of problem solved!!! you were SO RIGHT when you said " the conversion didn’t fully work"!!
    So I used this code:
keytool -importkeystore -srckeystore MyOldKey -destkeystore MyNewKey.p12 -deststoretype PKCS12
and now I only have ONE more error that I am trying to fix (still no success):
    Upload failed
Your APK needs to have the package name com.partovenoor.partovenoor.
(I have typed the correct name, also checked the XML and seems exactly the same, but not acceptable...)
Anyways the main part is solved....THANK YOUUUUU

  • WAS 620 ABAP+JAVA stack

    Hi all,
we currently running on SAP Entreprise 470x110 with SAP Basis 620 on HPUX with Oracle 9i.
And currenly we have only ABAP stack and we would like to install the Java stack on our currently landscape.
Can you advice me on this matter and how we should start.I would like to know what are the prerequite and also the system landscape.
    Please kindly advise.
    Thank you.
    Kah Fei

when you use web browser,Internet comm.manager(ICM) will route your request either to ABAP stack or JAVA stack.
The Java stack is build following J2EE standards.with in the J2EE you have EJB container and Web container. So its a structure based on J2EE standards.
Actually i did'nt understand what you mean by "i would like to use java to support frontend internet instead of j2ee."

    Quote:
Access to appropriate Sun J2SE Version:
Please use Sun J2SE 1.4.2_09 SDK (or higher 1.4.2 versions after they will become available). It is not recommended to use versions lower than 1.4.2_09. Please also do not use J2SE 5.0
    Important note:
In contrast to the recommendation above please do not use J2SE 1.4.2_10  as it has problems during installation. The problem is under investigation.

  • Doubt:: Is EP6 SP12 stable on WAS SP12 (ABAP + JAVA) running on Unix?

    Hi All,
I want to know whether installing EP6.0 on WebAS SP12 (having both ABAP + J2EE ) is stable or not?
    The Operating System is <b>Unix</b>.
    Regards,
    Sai.

    Hi Sai
Raise an OSS query on this, you will get an official perspective. My own questions would be can you restart the J2EE stack independant of the ABAP stack , are requests to J2EE engine via ICM or through its own message server or direct dispacther hit. In terms of customer landscape is there a separate ABAP stack where you run your solution manager.
What are the functions are you looking from the ABAP stack that you want to levarage?

This is the response I got from support:
This is bug 22205 and will be fixed in the release of the Exchange Groupware Portlet Suite 3.0.4 at the end of April. The workaround in the interim is to copy the D:\Program Files\plumtree\jre folder from the installation CD (or another working portal server) onto the problem server. Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you. Neal Rapoporthttp://www.portalconsultant.com

  • How do you log onto a was java instance

    Dear Team,
I am reding the installation guide for WAS 6.40 JAVA on WIN oracle.  I have installed the instance and the manual talks about logging onto the instance with a gui?
I have entered the instance name and number in the 6.40 gui, but it just hangs there. I have also tried to log in to the system with the URL localhost:50000 and localhost:50100 I only get the j2ee start page?
    Any one have any ideas.
    Thanks
