Thank you, I was able to see that I needed to download the files and extract them. I do have a couple of follow-up questions, though. Is the repository for the Adobe Flash Player files listed in my original post not being updated any more? If not, how are clients that don't use our internal server going to be updated? Another unrelated question...how can I make the FlashPlayerUpdateSerivce force an update immediately if there are new files, whether or not they contain critical updates?

What if a workstation installed the update from CC and the After Effects render farm doesn't update from CC, will it still render the comps? The render farm is a 3rd party software that uses the "aerender.exe" from After Effects.

If you update one it would be a good idea to update all. Most of the time updates are bug fixes or other improvements. Usually a bug will show up on rendering so it makes the most sense to update your render machines rather than just your production machine.

I keep gettin updates from my app store but yet when I go in and update all it starts the update and then pops up and tells me that the application cannot be downloaded at this time. I have had to delete a few apps bc this isn't working.

First check that your device is not full, maybe you may have to delete some photos or apps to make space to do updates. if its not full then you will have to try pluging it into your pc/mac running itunes then doing a backup and restore. Then you should be able to do your updates.
Sorry but i cant think of any other way if its showing as installed already but is not there.

- OSX: Maverick to Yosemite = not recommended (check it out > http://roaringapps.com/apps)
- iPad: older versions as iPad2 should not upgrade to iOS7/8 (it's not supporting its hardware accordingly, it's designed for the latest hardware)
- iTunes (it's possible to rollback to 10.7 - 11.4, but you need to breech OSX system security framework)
- Pages (was a real alternative for many of us, each update reduced features and created incompatibility to older work files)

Firefox will not allow me to install a tool bar from a web site...it was there before I updated recently, but now, even tho I follow all the instructions,,it won't allow it. How do I get that tool bar back?

I use another tool bar from another source as a search bar. I have used it for a long time and never aproblem with Firefox. However, when I upgraded to the newest version about 2 weeks ago, this tool/search bar (Ionly use the search feature) wasn't there. Problem updating from Acrobat 10.1.10 to 11. Error 1001, and am told to connect to update server. When I activated the installer, message said Install failed, contact manufacturer for assistance, so I am.

I am using a 2011 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.9.5. Have been using Acrobat 10.1.10, but got a pop-up notice from Adobe today, saying that it had been awhile since last logged on and my software was due for an update. However, after downloading the update Acrobat 11, the updater seems to be unable to FIND the file to update, so it asks me to select the file to update. When I found it, the file icon was grayed out, and wouldn't allow me to select it. Gave me a message for "Error 1001". I'm an experienced Mac user, but not a programmer, so I don't know what that means. When I tried to run the installer from the downloaded file, it stopped, saying "Installation Failed" due to encountering an error—which was NOT named or numbered—and that I should contact the manufacturer for assistance. Which I am ATTEMPTING to do, but it appears to be impossible to actually get direct help.
Suggestions, or better yet, direct answers, would be appreciated.

Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....

Will there be an update in Pages for ipad that will allow for sub scripts and superscripts

I am a chemistry professor who loves to work on the ipad. The problem I have is that the mathematics I use and chemical equations is use in my writings need both super scripts and subscripts. I would love to use my ipad for this, but presently, the only way I can do this is with a third party app that allows me to create the formulas and the paste them in the document I am working on. Will there be an update to Pages for ipad that will allow subscripts and super scripts. I would love to move away from my Office 2010, but the support is not there yet.

Updates from HP agent ... always runs at start up and slows down computer

When we first turn on the computer it is slowed down by "Updates from HP agent running" checked through the task manager.
I would like to disable the automatic running of this and run it when I want to run HP Updates. I read in another post to go to the Start > All programs> setting > select never which would allow you to chose when to run the HP update agent. I can not seem to find it on this machine, the post I read was for another model.

Hi Ron,
Try the following.
Hold down the Windows key and press R. Into the Run box, type msconfig and hit enter. In the System Configuration window, select the Startup tab and remove the tick next to the HP Update agent. Click Apply and Ok to save the change and then restart the PC for this change to take effect.

If i update from 10.6.8 to mavericks on one long in and say i have two longins, will it update both or just the one, and will it delete any saved docs in the process regaurdless

Upgrading the OS is a system wide thing. So all users will receive the upgrade.
It should not delete files and such. However, if you have for example files made with Pages '09. Then the new Pages that comes with Mavericks will make a copy of those files so you can continue to edit them. But those new files can not be opened in Pages '09. BUT again, some people perfer Pages '09 and they use that still. Mavericks will just hide Pages '09, it's still usable in Mavericks just hidden.
To be safe, make a back up of your system before doing any major upgrade.

After updating from FF9 to 11; FF always checks for addon compatibility and goes to mozilla

I updated from FF9 to 11. In options; homepage is set to blank page and Foxtabs set to homepage (Foxtabs is compatible with FF11). But since updating, everytime I open FF it wants to check for add on compatibility and after I hit cancel, FF opens and the browser is using a mozilla page with a video saying Ive updated. This is getting very annoying.

You can completely disable the compatibility check.
