WD: Paste multiple lines (from clipboard) in a table ?

Hi is it possible ?
I would like to paste one or more lines to a table from the clipboard.... new lines should be added automatically to the wd table.

Yes, but SE16N is SAPGUI based. From the SAPGUI you are running a true desktop application and can of course do mass cut and paste. From Web Dynpro, you are generally running in the browser and therefore are sandboxed. Cut and paste of this type is simply not feasible in the way the browser and the HTML work for the table.
Such data entry will be possible in the future for Web Dynpros running in the NetWeaver Business Client with the Smart Client rendering turned on. In that case you are no longer running your WDA in a browser, but truely as a desktop application.

How to paste multiple lines in multiple rows in Numbers

Hi,
I have a list of Items I would like to have in different row in Numbers. But when I paste the list (Item Name <carriage return>) in a Number cell but instead of spanning multiple rows, it all paste in the same cell with multiple lines.
Is there a way to paste it in multiple rows or import it from a plain text file in Number the way I wish?

Using your hint and Pages, I found my issue.
That was because when paster in Pages, I saw a CR, that when pasted in Numbers resulted in a one cell with multiple lines in it.
I used Pages to replace the CR by a paragraph code, and now it work just fine.

Error trying to use multiple lines from a PO in a Goods Receipt PO

I get the following error when I try to add 2 lines from a PO to a single Goods Receipt PO (code below):
-5002 One of the base documents has already been closed [PDN1.BaseEntry][line: 1]
I can create the Goods Receipt PO if I use 1 line or lines from multiple PO's???

Hi Louis, thanks for the post...
However the PO document that I am refercing definately has both lines open, if I use 1 of those lines it works fine, but the error occurs if I use 2 lines from the same PO. I am also definately using the docentry not the docnum for the GetByKey() method.
Can anyone run the same basic logic through the DI API? That is create a PO with 2 lines on it, then run the code as above to make a Goods Receipt PO and reference the 2 lines from the 1 PO document? (It works if I add multiple lines referncing lines from multiple PO docs??)

How to read multiple lines from a command prompt?

I usually read from a command prompt like this:

This has worked fine for years when all I wanted was one line answers.
Now I am trying to prompt for multiple line answers. Is there a way to read into a string array rather than just a string? What class would I use for that?

The easiest approaches would be to read a line at a time until you've read enough lines, whether by a known fixed line count, or a token count, or by reading some sentinel toek, OR read a token at a time using Scanner.next() until you've determined you're done. Which one is more appropriate depends on your situation.

Copy and paste multiple texts from Word to Indesign

Hello!!
I would like to simplify multiple operations where I need to copy multiple text boxes from a Word doc into multiple boxes in Indesign, and be able to specify the exact location of each box in the Indesign doc. For example, I would like to take 7 text boxes from a Word doc and copy them separately into 7 boxes in the Indesign doc, rather than have to go back and forth into the Word doc. 7 times and pasting each text box one by one.

That looks a lot like case for Data Merge. It won´t give you any tools for copy/pasting multiple textboxes but with little work, you could make a template where you could drop multiple Items like you have in your screenshot. It won´t work with docs, but if you can convert your stuff to excel, then it would be quite nice solution for you.

Copy and Paste Multiple lines into a single cell

Folks:
I need to copy some plain text data into a single cell that has been merged with other cells to provider a larger unit; however, every time I copy and paste my data it gives me an error. In addition, if I paste the data into a single cell, the next line
of data inserts into the next row.
I understand that Alt+enter is a quick way to do what I want, but I already have the data typed out, and I do not want to type the data again.
Example: (If possible I want in one single cell)
Disks=32
Total space=1.74TB
Used space=1.20TB
Free space=0.54TB

Is there any way to do this but keep the source formatting? I don't see any "Paste Special" options when you do it this way.
That is not possible - when you copy/paste this way, you only copy the plain text, not the formatting. You'll have to apply formatting to the cell with pasted lines from scratch.

I AM TRYING TO COPY AND PASTE MULITPLE LINES ON TO SEVERAL OTHER ACCOUNTS/DOCS AND IT WILL ONLY LET ME HIGHTLIGHT/COPY/PASTE ONE LINE AT A TIME

You can move the same data to a temporary internal table while copying and check that while pasting.

Multiple columns from the same dimension table as row labels performing slowly

(Working with SSAS tabular)
I'm trying to figure out what the approach should be for the following scenario:
Lets say we have a Customer table. The table has columns such as account number, department number, name, salesperson, account manager, number of customers, delivery route, etc
A user of the model could want to see any permutation of that information as the row labels. How should that be handled?
What we've been doing so far is that the user adds each column they want into the "ROWS" section in Excel. This works fine with smaller tables (for example, "Department" table with a "Department Code" and "Department Name",
but on large tables this quickly chokes. I understand why this is happening, I just haven't found a better way to accomplish the same thing.
I can add a calculated column to the model through VS, but obviously this is unsupportable and unscalable when each person needs their own permutations of the data. Can something similar be done in Excel?

Anyway i've done what you suggested but i get this error:
[nQSError: 15011]The dimension table source Dimension Services.DM_D_SERVIZI_SRV has an aggregate content specification that specifies the level Product. But the source mapping contains column COD_PRODUCT with a functional dependency association on a more detailed level .
where:
- DM_D_SERVIZI_SRV is the physical alias for the Service Dimension (and the name of the LTS too)
- COD_PRODUCT is the leaf of the hierarchy, the physical primary key, but it hasnt to be included in the hierarchy
Do i have to add another level with the primary key and hide it to the users?
I tried to solve this going to the logical tables source properties, on the tab contents, setting "logical level" to null for the hierarchy, but i don't know if this is correct.

Probably because it is a smart object connected back to the Numbers document.
If you want it purely as a graphic, try copying the chart in Numbers switching to Preview.app and going command n which will make it a pdf file, then copy that and paste that into Pages. But it will no longer be a live chart.

I am working on cutting and pasting large amounts of information into adobe forms. When I presently cut and paste from Excel, it puts all of the data in one line rather than in separate choices in a multiple choice selection.
Is there a way to separate out this data so that from the excel sheet, each piece of data is separated into a different possible selection?

That's not the way of transferring data from Excel to a PDF form. You should format the data in two rows, the first being the field names and the second being their values, and then import it via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data...

Is it possible to paste multiple selections from excel?

How do you detect in Java whether a multiple selection in excel has been copied to the clipboard.
For instance: I have an excel spreadsheet - 3 rows x 3 columns. I highlight the first 3 rows in column 1 and the first 3 rows in column 3 then I copy this to the clipboard (ctrl-c). If I now go to a text editor and paste this then the data from all 3 columns, not the expected 2 columns, appears.
Likewise, in Java I have tried using the clipboard object looking at all the different data flavours to find a way of detecting that only data from the 1st and the 3rd columns were copied. But I can't find a way.
This is most likely a microsoft issue in that they never make this information available from the clipboard.
Can anyone shed any light on this one?

Is there a way to directly paste as image from clipboard

I am an old Paint Shop Pro user but finally bought Photoshop CS5. However in Paint Shop Pro there is this excellent feature where you paste whatever image is on your clipboard directly as an image.
In PhotoShop CS5 I first need to create a new file and paste the clipboard content in there. Which is, for example, when you have used the Print Screen key on your keyboard and want to create the screenshot as a new image, an additional step I can do without.
Besides, I am often not sure how large the image is on my clipboard, so I need to create a ridiculous large new file to paste whatever I have on my clipboard in it and then work on it (cropping and so on).
A paste as image option would suit me well. Is it in there somewhere?

I created an action for that, which I assign to a key. It makes a new document from whatever's in my clipboard.

CS6 doesn't paste latest text from clipboard but older one

OSX 10.8.2, InDesign CS6
I cannot paste text from word mac 2011 in Indesign CS6. When I try to paste the text in InDesign the text from before the current copying appears. (although the right text is in the clipboard). The problem is that InDesign shuts down after trying this 3-4 times.
Does anyone know this problem and has a solution?

No, its correct but not the text from the last copying but the one before.
This is how it goes:
1. I copy text from word
2. Pasting in InDesign without any problems
3. Copying another text from word
4. Pasting in InDesign show the text from step 2 and not the copied text from step 3
5. delete the pasted text
6. Pasting again shows the correct text from step 3
after repeating this 3-4 time InDesign quits
I hope my explanation is understanable
