WDSL AND SOAP OUTPUT MISMATCH for OC4J 9.0.4

Hello,
I have a HelloWorld web service on iAS 9.0.4 and the WSDL file has:
<message name="getString0Response">
<part name="output" type="xsd:string"/>
</message>
The issue is that the retruned response SOAP message does not match the WSDL, it simply returns:
<ns1:getStringResponse xmlns:ns1="HelloWorldWS" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
<return xsi:type="xsd:string">test string</return>
</ns1:getStringResponse>
According to the WSDL, the web service should return "output" instead of "return". This mismatch between wsdl and the returned soap message cause an issue when you call that web service method inside a BPEL process, as an operation of a partner link, for instance.
The WSDL was originally generated by the JDeveloper with <part name="return" type="xsd:string"/>, but I changed manually "return" to "output". If I load the wsdl of the deployed WS, I will find the good modified name, I mean "output".
Many thanks,
Marinel

Hi Marinel,
From the SOAP specification [1] - section 7: "The name of the return value accessor is not significant." .
The BPEL engine should not assumes that the name of the accessor on the wire match with the name of the part, for RPC style of services. It's only OK to do so for document style, where the full payload can be validated agains a schema.
By editing the WSDL so that it correspond to the wire format and make BPEL able to deserialize the soap envelope, you are doing the right thing.
Hope this helps,
Eric

  • Admin_client.jar 10.1.3.1.0 and changing JVM settings for OC4J in opmn.xml

Just now briefly looked at admin_client.jar 10.1.3.1.0. It appears that there is new functionality to create/alter and interrogate (J2EE) resources in this utility. This partially answers my other question, as stated in Jython support in Oracle Application Server 10g R3 (10.1.3)
(Would be nice to get a definitive answer on scripting though)
    Anyway...
As a follow-up question. Will there also be functionality (or is there already functionality) which lets me change JVM settings of OC4J components as they are declared in the opmn.xml, using only command line (and/or scripting) tools?
    Thanks

Jan -- there is no out of the box command line utility that can amend the JVM settings for an OC4J instance.
As Deepak alluded to, it is possible to do this using JMX because all the OPMN configuration elements are all reachable from JMX. This means you can create whatever Java JMX client you desire to modify the settings, or use a scripting environment which provides nice support for JMX (for example Groovy with its GroovyMBean) to access and use the OpmnConfig MBean set to change the OPMN configuration values.
Asanka -- the 10.1.3.1 release has lots of capability in ASC to manage the OPMN settings from a browser -- including modifying all the JVM settings (things like heap, System properties, etc.) as well as OC4J switches (-userThreads, etc.)

  • Opening and closing balance mismatch for - RG23A Part II

    Dear SAP Gurus,
RG23A-Part-II for the month of May 2010 and have noticed the following problems
    1. The closing balance of last month is not tallying with the opening balance of current month. The balances printed in the register for BED, EDUCESS And HSEC are wrong.
    2. We have utilized the CENVAT balance for the payment of duty for the month of May 2010 - J2IUN.
3.It is observed that even though we have debited duty under three headings, i.e. BED, EDUCESS and HSEC the register shows all the three debits under BED, which is incorrect
Note : The Table entry of J_1IPart2 for Accounting Document ex 200033141 does not show breakup for Education Cess and H&SEcess.
Kindly help what and where do we need to check for the setting?
    Regards,
    Prashanth

Its possible that some transactions are posted after you extract the report.  Extract the report again (J2I5) and print them.
Have you configured different GL accounts for posting BED, ECS & HCS.  From your description, it seems same GL is assigned for all three components.

  • HTTPS mode for OC4J - Very Urgent

    Hi,
I am trying to implement HTTPS mode with OC4J for our internal application. The Server Configuration and how I tried to implement is detailed below.
    The Server Configuration :
    Operating System     :     Linux 7.1
    Java Development Kit     :     j2sdk1.3 with j2sse 1.0.3
    Web Server          :     Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE (OC4J) OC4J build# 020712.1645.
The command for generating the CSR (for test certificate from Entrust)
    1. keytool -genkey -keyalg "RSA" -keystore keystore -storepass 123456 -keysize 512
    2. keytool -certreq -keyalg "RSA" -file gisl-dev -keystore keystore
I had generated a CSR from the server and submitted the CSR online for a test certificate. On submission freecert.entrust.com had issued the web server certificate and the CA certificate successfully.
After this I tryed to import the Web Server Certificate with this command:
    3. keytool -keystore -keyalg "RSA" -import -trustcacerts -file gisl-dev.cer
    I am getting an error:
    keytool error: java.security.cert.CertificateException: Unsupported encoding
Is there anyway to come out of this problem, I think I can use Apache Server and tunnel the request for OC4J through Apache. But the sad thing is that I don't know how do it.
Please help me out to solve this problem

1/ try to add a LF to your reply certicate. (there is a bug on keytool import)
2/ Also you need to check if your CA provider certicate is known on cacerts file. If not you need to import it.
    Hope this help

  • REST and SOAP

    Hi all,
I just read that REST and SOAP are available for use in APEX.
Yet I do not know what these terms are, why would I want to use these technologies over the simple forms and reports?
Where can I get information about REST and SOAP in relation to what I am used to working with (PL/SQL and APEX)?

    Dear all,
Did I ever say that I needed it explained to me?
    Wasn't I clear enough when I said:
Hope that somebody read a book and could refer it to me.
I am already busy looking in google and bing and yahoo.
Hoping somebody knows who did the research, so i can read up on it and test out the difference. why invent the wheel aggain?
    Dear Tony,
I see that you have alot of posts, so maybe you were in a bad mood.
But when people ask questions, you should asume that they done all they could in their power or knowledge.
Google gives alot of suggestions but not all of them help in peoples questions.
It is up to people like yourself who volunteerd to join a community to guide them so they can improve. Saying stuff like go google it is like saying somebody whoa asks where he could watch whales to go to the ocean. But my ocean does not have whales, so that would not help someone from my town.
Sorry if you had a bad day, sorry if I struck a nerve.
But as we learned when we were young: “If you can’t say something nice . . . don’t say nothing at all.” - Thumper
    And to anwser the question:
w3school has the basic on soap and rest
I will have to learn web services first
oreilly has some books on the subjects. guess i will go for the most popular ones.
But the difference between (rest, soap) webservices and standard reports and forms i could not find. Will post when I find something.

  • OTN Live Web Services problem, mismatched WSDLs and Soap RPC reply

I've tried to connect to all those OTN Live Web Services using webMethods and found there might be a mismatched WSDLs and Soap RPC problem in Oracle side. There is a discussion thread of this: http://www.wmusers.com/wmusers/messages/116/904.shtml
Is there anyone out there encounters the same problem and agree that Oracle should fix this ? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Mike,
I've just downloads all 5 WSDL and tried each single one of them again. The following are the results of the test.
Result (OK): this is the success case
Result (0): this is the "OTN Authentication Failure" and I cannot tell if it works if input is correct.
Result (1): this is the error I've mentioned in the previous message and I'll give you more details later.
Result (2): this is the "No Serializer found" exception:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No Serializer found to serialize a
    'org.w3c.dom.Element' using encoding style 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'.

    -- IOTNNewsPortType
    getRss (1)
Let me explain what happens in error case (1):
webMethods construct the "targetOutSignature" for the client base on the WSDL.
After the reply message retrieved, it tries to "conform" (validate) it against the "targetOutSignature".
Whenever I get this exception, I can open the exception details and actually see that the reply xml has been received but with the error message of "Output parameters do not conform to targetOutputSignature".
If I manually remove the "targetOutputSignature" from the generated client, so that webMethods won't try to "conform" the reply message against the one described in the original WSDL, it works perfectly.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide.
    Thanks.

  • Output mismatch between BEx query output and WebI Report output

    Hi All,
I have a BEx query in which there are only characteristics placed in rows.
There are combinations of the values of the characteristics giving different records in the query output.
Date is one of the characterisctics in the query output.
There is an output mismatch between the query output and the WebI report output in the following case:
When there are 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values, there are additional entries(rows) in the WebI report, giving repeating or wrong entries in the Date field. This is incorrect data.
Is this because of the  'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values of the Characteristics or is there any other reason?
    How do I fix this?
    Please helo me with this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srilakshmi B

    Hi Rajesh,
I need to verify the WebI report output for records with # and 'Not assigned' values for the cHracteristics in the report.
So I cannot check the WebI report by hiding the # or Not assigned values.
The problem is that in the Query output the records are like these shown below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
#(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)             No value
Where as the WebI report output is as below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
    #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)            Date1
As shown here, there are wrong/repeating entries for the Date field in the WebI report output.
Please check this and let me know what could be the issue and how do I fix it.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Xmlrpc and soap, looking for a simple answer to a simple question

    Hello,
Can someone tell me, are java implementations of web service protocols such as soap and xmlrpc built around servlets (and supporting classes of course) that know how to deal with these specific xml formats? I know there are various libraries for handling these things but on the most basic level it's still using a Servlet as an end point for an http request and then handing out the request to the supporting classes isn't it?
    thanks a bunch
    -seth

XML-RPC and SOAP were developed outside of Sun, outside of Java. They are uniform international standards of communications developed on top of XML standards to be easily used by applications of different types.
XML, like Java, is cross-platform, but for applications. XML defines document structure, and because it is an international standard, many people have access to the "format." An application, like Microsoft Word, can read an XML document created by some other Application that is written in XML because both understand XML. Although they can read the document, they may not understand the data. Various other XML technologies enable the application to retrieve another XML document that describes the elements or that defines how the data is to be displayed and/or used. XML Style Sheets and XML Translations are just two such things.
Not everyone knows the Adobe PDF format, so a program like MS Word is not able to read it, but if it was written in XML, then Word could read the document, get the technology that describes how to handle the data, and then properly display it to the user, allow editing, then save it back into XML format, and then Acrobat could read the edited data and display it correctly as well. Two different applications, one common format.

  • Best-practice for use of object styles to manage image text wrap issues when aiming at both print and EPUB output?

I have a work-flow question about object styles, text-wrap, and preparing a long document with lots of images for dual print/EPUB output in InDesign CC 2014.
I am sort of experienced with InDesign but new to EPUB export. I have hundreds of pages and hundreds of images so I'd like to make my EPUB learning curve, in particular, less painful.
Let me talk you through what I'm planning and you tell me if it's stupid.
It's kind of a storybook-look I'm going for. Single column of text (6" by 9" page) with lots of small-to-medium images on the page (one or two images per page), and the text flowing around, sometimes right, sometimes left. Sometimes around the bounding box, sometimes following the edges of the images. So in each case I'm looking to tweak image size and placement and wrap settings so that the image is as close to the relevant text as possible and the layout isn't all wonky. Lovely print page the goal. Lots of fussy trade-offs and deciding what looks best. Inevitably, this will entail local overrides of paragraph styles. So what I want to do, I guess, is get the images as closely placed as possible, before I do any of that overriding. Then I divide my production line.
    1) I set aside the uniformly-styled doc for later EPUB export. (This is wise, right? Start for EPUB export with a doc with pristine styles?)
    2) With the EPUB-bound version set aside, I finish preparing the print side, making all my little tweaks. So many pages, so many images. So many little nudges. If I go back and nudge something at the beginning everything shifts a little. It's broken up into lots of separate stories, but still ... there is no way to make this non-tedious. But what is best practice? I'm basically just doing it by hand, eyeballing it and dropping an inline anchor to some close bit of text in case of some storm, i.e. if there's a major text change my image will still be almost where it belongs. Try to get the early bits right so that I don't have to go back and change them and then mess up stuff later. Object styles don't really help me with that. Do they? I haven't found a good use for them at this stage (Obviously if I had to draw a pink line around each image, or whatever, I'd use object styles for that.)
Now let me shift back to EPUB. Clearly I need object styles to prepare for export. I'm planning to make a left float style and a right float style and a couple of others for other cases. And I'm basically going to go through the whole doc selecting each image and styling it in whatever way seems likeliest. At this point I will change the inline anchors to above line or custom, since I'm told EPUB doesn't like the inline ones.
I guess maybe it comes down to this. I realize I have to use object styles for images for EPUB, but for print, manual placement - to make it look just right - and an inline anchor seems best? I sort of feel like if I'm going to bother to use object styles for EPUB I should also use them for print, but maybe that's just not necessary? It feels inefficient to make so many inline anchors and then trade them for a custom thing just for EPUB. But two different outputs means two different workflows. Sometimes you just have to do it twice.
Does this make sense? What am I missing, before I waste dozens of hours doing it wrong?

I've moved your question to the InDesign EPUB forum for best results.

  • Why we do not need sender agreement for Mail and SOAP adapter

    Hi SDN,
I know, we do not need sender agreement for IDOC ,HTTP,XI adapters. As these three adapters will run in Integration engine of the abap stack.
<b>In our scenario if sender is other than  IDOC or HTTP or XI .</b>
    By Refering Sivamni's blog.
    <b>/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/05/25/understanding-message-flow-in-xi
message will be pickedup by communication channel with the help of sender agreement and prepare XI message header by performing cpa cache lookup. then message will go to module processor etc.
<b>In our scenario if sender is IDOC or HTTP or XI .</b>
As these 3 adapters are run in Integration engine.
    Doubt 1:
how the integration engine will create the xi message header like sender interface sender system name etc...
    Doubt 2:
I believe SOAP and mail adapter will run in adapter engine.but i came to know that we do not need sender agreement and sender comm channel for these two adapters too...then how the XI message header will create...
Please do correct me if i am wrong
and throw some light on the same..
    Appreciate your help....
    Regards,
    Reehan.

    Reehan,
Thanks for pointing me to that link. Guess I was wrong .,But,let me try to put to you why you need a sender agreement for a Sender SOAP Adapter,
    1. In the sender SOAP adapter , the Sender Interface and the Interface Namespace as provided in the fields Default Interface Name and InterfaceNamespace. The Name of the Sender Service is provided in the WSDL when you ceate the WSDL in the Integration Directory. So, as all details are available in either the Sender SOAP adapter or in the WSDL url you do not need a Sender Agreement. It is not obligatory but you can always create the Sender Agreement.
    2.  For the mail adapter , if you select the option XIPAYLOAD, you will have the option to mention the Interface Name and Interface Namespace under XI Parameters  and so in this case as once again the details provided in the sender agreement are available in the Sender Adapter itself the sender agreement is not needed for the mail adapter when you have select option XIPAYLOAD.
If you have selected XIALL then you need a sender agreement.
    Regards
    Bhavesh
