I'm working on BSP's and Portal since 1 Year.
The Portal Implementation is already done before I started working on it.
Now my scenario is as folows :
We need to implement EP Solution for Supplier Portal .
For this we want to know what are all the activities involved.
Can anyone throw some light on it ?

We have to make setting for displaying all the roles defined for supplier portal to reflect in the EP.Portal is integrated with Webclient of CRM so make sure all changes done in the webclient are reflected in the Portal thing.

As we know, there are five NAP enforcement methods, NAP Enforcement for IPSec Communications, NAP Enforcement for 802.1x, NAP Enforcement for DHCP, NAP Enforcement for Terminal Services Gateway, NAP Enforcement for VPN.
Due to you have many devices in your environment, which is the primary means that you want to deploy NAP? In my point of view, you could configure NAP enforcement for DHCP or for 802.1x Wireless or for 802.1x Wired.
To deploy DHCP NAP, we need a DC, a NPS server as RADIUS server, a DHCP server as a RADIUS clients and a DHCP client.
To deploy NAP Enforcement for 802.1x Wireless, we need a DC, a CA, a NPS server as RADIUS server, a 802.1x wireless access point as a RADIUS client and a 802.1x wireless client.
To deploy NAP Enforcement for 802.1x Wired, we need a DC, a CA, a NPS server as RADIUS server, a 802.1x authenticating switch as a RADIUS client and a 802.1x wired client.

DR solution for OracleAS Portal 10g

Hi
I have to think about a disaster recovery (DR) solution for OracleAS Portal10g.
Location1: Primary
Location2: DR System
SAN Storage used between Location1 + 2.
The disaster case happens only once a year. (test)
In DR case, OS technical It would be possible to use the same DNS (hostname) on Location 2 like Location 1.
Oracle advises to use Dataguard or cluster solutions.
Do you know if our way would be a walkable and supportable way?

I need a one-lens solution for my photo needs on high speed Corvette Races. Will 35-350L do?

You have a 1D ? Or do you have a later 1 D seires camera?
I have used and still use a 1D. It would not be my first choice, or 2nd, or 3rd, for motorsports shooting with whatever lens.
At 4MP you are going to be really handicaped in any sort of enlargements.
The 1D is a fantastic camera and at one time the best camera in the world with a, at the time, insane price of around 8 grand.
If you do indeed have a 1D, I would search for a later 1 series and the best buy right now is a 1D Mk III.
Than the addition of the EF 35-350mm f3.5-5.6, or better yet the EF 28-350mm f3.5-5.6 should work well.
With a lot of practice as suggested above.

Need photo cataloging/management solution for small business

Hi,
I'm about to be tasked with setting up a way to manage thousands of high res images coming in from various photo shoots for our upcoming projects. We are a Mac-based office, and have an Xserve as our local file/web server which we will install something on.
- Ideally it'd be something hosted locally from the Xserve so that it's easily updated via the file server. Easiest would be an app that helps import batches of new images, or has a folder where we can drop new batches directly. Online web services are not ideal as we'd like to house all the data locally.
- Could be software-based, ie if there's a package that has a server app we can install on the Xserve and run client apps on local machines to access, OR could be web-based, ie image gallery software I install on the Xserve, which we could access in or out of the office (external access would be most helpful). Web based may be the way to go.
- Main thing is that it's easy to browse and search thumbnails, view larger preview on screen, then download full size image when ready
- Ideally individual users would be all be able to tag/organize content
- Super extra bonus points if users can create their own lightbox/favorites to select images for a particular project, and save their settings etc.
- Simple, clean, easy to use interface would be excellent. We don't need something that does 1000 things, just the above things really well.

There used to be a good program that did just that: iView MediaPro (worked on a Mac). But Microsoft bought them in 2006, changed the name and upgraded the product, and I'm not sure if you can find a version that will do just that anymore.
They call it Microsoft Expression Media and they have several different flavor of it.

Need Info or a Solution for FTP Firewall

I have been able to create an Applesque anonymous FTP login situation for PCs and the only problem left is that the PCs can not connect unless they turn off Passive FTP.
For some reason ports 20-21 are being inappropriately blocked to proper FTP communication so that a session can not be properly initiated. Such as the remote client sending the request to the Server and the server initiating the connection. Or so I have been told that is the way it needs to be.
Right now I have the Apple firewall options turned off and all is fine. Anyone know anything of any of this?

Thank you for your reply, but I have found that it is not a firewall issue on the PC end, but on the Mac end. If you turn off "Use Passive FTP" (on by default in Explorer) on the PC end all is well. But with it on it can't get through on the Mac. If I turn off the Mac Firewall, all is well.
I am trying to provide the same access to a PC that a Mac has when you use "Connect to Server" from the "Go" menu in the Finder and login as "Guest" (Anonymous on the PC) - access to the Public and DropBox folders. Now if you login as a user with a password you get right in no matter what and have access to the whole user. This I don't want.
This all started working, to a point, after I created an FTP user and group in the NetInfo Manager via these instructions: http://digitalelf.net/archives/000030.html
So . . . it's either feast or famine. Something on the Mac end is over working. If I could get the Mac end to operate as everyone else in the IT world, that would solve my problem. Thus, my quest.

Need a reliable backup solution for mixed pc and mac home network - existing WD MyCloud isn't working?

Hope you guys can help me. I'm currently trying to use a new WD MyCloud NAS device attached to my ASUS Wireless router to back up 2 Windows laptops, and an iMac and a Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, the TimeMachine backups seem flaky and inconsistent to the NAS - so I am worried and need to switch to something else.
What is my simplest option without replacing the exiting NAS and Wireless Network and Router - can I attach a Timecapusle to the existing router and just use it with wireless off to do mac backups? How do I set that up if it is advised?
If I replace the wireless router with a Timecapsule, will the PC 8.1 backups work automatically - how do I set those up? Can I simply attach the WD NAS off the Timecapsule then and still use the NAS for PC backups as is? Any other ideas?

Ok.. much more complicated.
There is several things that add to the background of the story.
1. That you are trying to backup a USB drive drive already.. I strongly recommend CCC to do this.. as you cannot setup a separate task in TM to separate the backups. I can understand not wanting to add another USB and it is older iMac so usb2 only.
2. Your Express do add complexity.. yes they work better if using the TC..
Will replacing the ASUS with a TC improve my music streaming through the AE's given that it will all be apple then?

Is the wireless range of the TC as good as the ASU in your opinion?
No, i have both and the Asus is very good.. but with the Express you can do more than you are doing.
What model Express and what model Asus we need to know to give a straight answer??
3. I assume that if I simply replace the ASUS with a TC and use same SSID and PW it should be an easy swap since we have many mobile and networked devices in the house?
I strongly recommend you start over with new names..
Problems in wireless networks are common.. and part of the problem is trying to make one wireless router pretend to be another .. you don't fool the clients that rely on MAC address, BSSID not SSID. And you don't fool the main router.. which now is lost as to the clients expecting one MAC address and getting another.
It doesn't take that long.. use a slightly different name but the same password is fine.. I have several wireless routers.. all use the same password but different SSID.

Yes it's possible. You should create a stand-alone portal application. That way the par file will be put in a SDA file that will be deployed automatically.
You can choose the DC type when creating it. To convert existing not-standalone DCs to standalone DCs, adjust the .dcdef file of the project:

Best Solution for Creating an Onlne Purchase order form with multiple calculation fields

I am a bit confused. Our school has a Forms Central account which works great for our registration forms but I need to find a solution for creating an online purchase form with multiple calculation fields - I know that forms central does not support calculation fields (too bad) but I know that Acrobat Pro does... soooo...
Can you create the forms in Acrobat and then somehow integrate the advanced features into forms central? Do they talk to each other? Is this easy to do? .... I guess another way to putting it is can you create the forms in Acrobat including all of the advanced features for payment calculation and then host it online using Forms Central to manage and collect the data? (I guess that really is my question)

The naming convention was the consistant up until a point when I read that you need a '.' syntax (?!) - does anyone know if this is true?
Attached is a version with Bernd Alheit's suggestion and with all the naming of the fields being consistant. It's still not working for me though after doing this and I'm stuck as to why, because I think it should work. I've also tried writing the calcualting line of code in the same manner that Bernd Alheit suggests before I came on here, and it wouldn't work then.
As with any coding, it must be something to which I have done, but I can't see it anywhere

We are now faced with the challenge whether to recommend SOA and WCC on the same Weblogic server or on separate Weblogic servers. Is there any best practice guide available for setting up Application Adapters for WCC?

Bank directory setting for suppliers and employee

Hi expert
My company is working on our new SAP BbyD setup.
In preparing our supplier master and employee master, we were advised to include their bank info in our bank directory. As our suppliers reside in different countries and apparently use different banks, are we really need to set up one bank in our bank directory for every one of them?
Will that mess up our bank records?
We would like to know how other business by design users set this up. Please advise.

Question 1: Do you normally create a new bank in the bank directory for suppliers / staff? Or, use a summary bank instead? You do not create a new bank for all suppliers/staff. Suppliers and staff payment depends on the company code assigned. In your case all you have to do is to assign the suppliers and staff on the one company code that you are using currently. As far as the payment method is enabled on the bank directory and on the supplier/staff master records. When you get to the payment monitor window, you can then select which bank account you want to pay the supplier/ staff from. Remember you must set up the bank account in the directory with all the necessary details completed. For example if you have four account with same bank, all the accounts must be set up under the bank name to enable payment to and from them.
Question 2: In the supplier's bank data screen, there is a "new bank" button for us to create a new bank, while in editing the personnel file, the payment information screen does not allow me to create a new bank. That means, I will have to add one in the bank directory first before I can edit the payment information screen. Yes you need to have your bank account details all set up in the bank directory and methods of payment enabled. You might need to check configuration settings for suppliers/staff and also the scoping questions to confirm that this functionality is enabled. The new bank account in the supplier/Staff master record is the bank account of the supplier or staff not for the company.
Note
Payments are driven by the company code and payment methods enabled, so for example you cannot pay a supplier that only check payments are enabled on his master records by wire transfer.
