Web page auto-zooms on orientation change in iOS 7

I had a web page that worked perfectly well until Apple came out with iOS 7 today and it broke the layout when screen orientation is changed.
Basically, when I have focus on a text area and rotate the screen to landscape view, the entire page zooms in. If focus is taken out of the text area and turned back to Portrait, things are back normal.
Rotation also works well when the text areas does not have focus.
I already have the following meta-tag in place (to ensure we block zooming):

Any ideas what's causing this awkward behavior?

Create pdf from web page - auto scaled page length

I'd like to capture LONG web pages to pdf without acrobat breaking the content into several letter size pages. I used to be able to do this in acrobat 8 and the page length would automatically scale to fit the contents. This was accomplished by leaving the option to "Scale WIde Contents to fit page" UNchecked, but this doesn't work now in version 9. Any ideas?

This has to be considered a legatimate bug, especially since IMAGE MAPS is listes as one of the supported HTML features via the help files

I use to be able to enter a URL and hit enter and Firefox would go to that site. Now I must hit the arrow in the address bar to go to the web page. How can I change that back

I can no longer just hit enter to go to a web page. Now I have to hit the arrow on the right side of the address bar.

There is a known issue for Firefox 10 on Windows. It involves AVG Safe Search making the "Enter" key not work in the Location/URL bar. AVG needs to fix the problem with their Add-on for Firefox.

WEB PAGE'S LOADING INTO AN AIR FOR iOS PROJECT

I have a complicated problem. I try to find a solution everywhere but I didn’t find anything.
I’m creating a project Air for iOS with Flash CS5 and Flash CS6. I need to find somebody that know how to upload a web page inside an app.
I try to explain better. There is yet a task for upload an html link, but it just work in a new browser window. In this way, every time I want to see a web page, the app will be close. Is it possible to import all the web page inside the Air for ios project, and not in an external window?

The web page opens correctly without using the browser but it opens into all project's frames.
Is it possible to open the web page only in the frame one (for example) ????

For some reason, I can no longer use these laptop touchpad functions: moving up and down a web page, and zooming. Help! I feel handicapped.

Auto-sleep won't work when web pages auto-refresh

Dear Apple,
Around 4 years ago, I noticed that my computer stopped going to sleep. I first noticed it shortly after adopting Gmail for my email platform and was subsequently able to isolate the issue down to Gmail and other websites, such as Huffington Post, which auto-refresh. Apparently, any website that auto-refreshes at shorter intervals than the auto-sleep is set to kick in, prevent the computer's auto-sleep function from activating.
I have spoken at length with AppleCare about this issue and understand that this is "by design." For instance, we wouldn't want the computer to constantly go to sleep while watching a movie or downloading and conversely, if we are actively working at our computers it's nice that Gmail auto-refreshes and keeps us appraised of incoming mail. However, since the vast majority of users now leave their browsers with multiple tabs open and due to the fact that more and more websites now auto-refresh, the auto-sleep function has become outdated and non-functional. While users can always manually put their computers to sleep, everyone at some time or another forgets to do so. This is exactly why computers are supposed to auto-sleep in the first place. Aggregated across millions of users, this results in a huge waste of electricity.
I've been writing/calling Apple (through AppleCare and the online feedback form) about this issue for 4 years now. I keep hoping that with each operating system release, some sort of "smart auto-sleep" function will be incorporated that will recognize when websites auto-refresh and still allow auto-sleep to kick in. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be the case in Lion.
I work in the energy efficiency field, specifically in lighting, and care deeply about this issue. I consider Apple to be an industry leader on this issue as well. I'm not familiar with the technical side of this issue, but I assume that with the right type of programming, the operating system could override a webpage's auto-update feature and activate auto-sleep, while not interfering with functions where a user would not want the computer to go to sleep, such as watching a movie. With Lion, Apple has focused its energy on making the computer adjust to the user,rather than the user adjusting to the computer. Yet, in this case, it appears to be the other way around.
It is time for Apple to update the auto-sleep function so that it takes into account websites that auto-refresh. When I set my computer to auto-sleep after so many minutes, I want it to do so, regardless of whether I have a browser with auto-updating websites open. Apple must take this issue seriously, as the wasted electricity is too important to ignore any longer.

I am obviously talking to Apple AND I posted this letter here, because a lot users seem confused about why their computers won't sleep. Even most AppleCare reps are confused. In the past, I couldn't find much in the way of explanations pointing to this issue, so I thought I post it here in case other people are looking for an explanation.
The auto-sleep function was built before websites auto-updated and needs to be updated to accomodate them. For the average user, it doesn't make sense for the computer not to sleep just because Gmail is open. Just because some website auto-refreshes in my browser, doesn't mean I never want my computer to sleep. By the same token, if I wanted to turn off auto-sleep I could easily do so from within Energy Saver Preferences. The two should be independent, so the user has the choice.
Why should I have to close my browser every time I walk away from my computer in order for it to sleep? I've acknowledged that in certain circumstance it makes sense for the computer not to auto-sleep: watching a movie, uploading, etc, but Apple has already accounted for those instances because the computer does not auto-sleep when those programs are running. All I'm suggesting is making the auto-sleep mechanism more sophisticated so that it isn't overridden by websites auto-refreshing.
Why the negative attitude, dwb? Based on the amount of time you spend in these discussion forums, you obviously never turn your computer off, so this doesn't really affect you. Maybe it's time to step outside and get some fresh air?

I can't keep the web page zoomed out, after I click a link or go to a differnet page, it goes back to being zoomed in, what can I do to keep it that way?

I went to the toolbar, clicked on View, then Zoom, then Zoom Out. It does Zoom Out, but after I click a link or go to another web page, it Zoom's right back in. How do I keep it Zoomed Out where I want it permanetly?

Auto Loading web page for ebay login in safari

HI,
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am running a mid 2011 intel imac with Mountain Lion and Safari all updates installed.
The problem I have is that ever since I took a holiday in June 2013 I'am now getting a web page auto loading in safari this seems to happen at randowm points either opening in a new tab or even open safari when it is closed. The web page is the ebay login page and has some detail of a user unkown to me in the URL.
I have spoken with apple support and we have tried clearing the cache's, reseting safari, checking the library files and removing the plist but all to no avail. Ideally I would like to uninstall safari and reload but this does not appear to be an option.
Also it would appear that I have a memory bleed when safari is running. I have 12Gb of memory that has always worked well but lately is goes down to only 39mb free or less. Quiting safari will return up to 7Gb of free memory.
Has anyone come across a simular problems?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

Acrobat X Pro - Header & Footer content ? (web pages)

We have thousands of Acrobat documents of converted web pages with this convention:
Header (L-R): Title - [empty] - Date
Footer: URL - [empty] - Page number
This convention needs to be retained, but *many* web pages in Internet Explorer 10/11 simply will not convert using File | Print, and there seems to be no obvious way to reformat the header/footer content for use with the Acrobat X Pro IE10/11 'Convert' button.
E.g. Acrobat X Preferences 'Convert to PDF' says 'There are no settings that can be edited in HTML'.
Is there any way to reformat the default Header & Footer contents in IE10/11 'Convert web page contents to PDF' ? I'm using Win7 x64 Pro. TIA

It's a bit obscure, but the settings are on the conversion dialog.
Open Acrobat on the desktop but don't open any documents.
Tools > Pages > More Insert Options > Create PDF From Web Page
Click 'Settings' and make changes as required, then cancel out of the creation dialog.

I have a problem when trying to print contents fro either Email's or from web pages, the problem started after i opened Google earth and it down loaded Google Chrome i do not like Google chrome so i removed it from my pc via add and remove programmes since then when i try to print an email i get what looks like the computer settings for writing the email and not the text same for web pages, as anyone come across this problem before i can print any word or spreadsheet documents but problem is with email's and web pages.

Something changed on your system, possibly when Google Chrome installed. It could be many things, but what it boils down to, is it needs to go back to the way it was. Either by removing whatever else might still be left from the install, or maybe by reinstalling the printer itself.

Export to Web (web pages and journals)

Is anyone out there able to export to web JPEGs larger than 320x480px? Because I am not. I have tried every conceivable preset for image export and web export (best quality, fit to size, etc) -- all to no avail. The presets have no effect on max image output. Which makes creating galleries and journals rather pointless, since the images are not a whole lot larger than the thumbnails. Surely I don't need to buy 3d-party software to export a decent sized image. I notice on the board that a few others have run into something similar, but the suggested "workarounds" have not worked for me. Thinking that maybe Ap 3 would fix it, I downloaded the trial version. But the problem persists, and I have reached the point of exasperation. Someone please help. Thank you.

I created a Web Journal and a Web Page. Both times the pictures were 900 × 596. 900 × 596 seems to be the default for the Theme I choose. I then went and changed the picture size to Width=1200 (bottom right) and after export the pictures exported were 1200x795. The Theme you chose might default 320x480.
You can change the exported size by changing the size of the picture or thumbnail in the Web Journal or Web Page editor. You can change the size of the pictures. Select "Detail" pages and at the bottom right of the detail page is the size. You can change the size of the Thumbnails too.
During the export, and its popup menu, you can only change the jpg quality. You can also select PNG instead of jpg for the pictures.

HT204291 I am trying to connect my new Apple TV to a wifi connection at a hospital. This apple tv connects at home but is unable to at hospital bc of a web page authentication agreement page. All of my iOS devices are connected.

I cannot connect my apple tv to the wifi bc of the web page authentication. When signing my other iOS devices on the network an immediate web page pops up with a user agreement to check and agree. How can I do this with the new apple tv?

Unfortunately that isn't possible with the Apple TV, the Apple TV does not have a web browser.

Deleting/ changing auto-completion when typing a web page

When I start to type a web page in the address bar (just www... etc.), a list of old bookmarks comes up, which I don't want. Is there a way to delete or reset these (e.g. a Library file that can be deleted), or a setting somewhere in Preferences that I can change?

Contrary to the advice from Carolyn, AutoFill has nothing to do with your problem. When you begin to enter a web address, Safari will suggest possible matches based on your bookmarks and your browsing history. The only way to avoid this is to have no bookmarks and no history, but that seems a bit extreme.
You can also just press the spacebar before you start entering the web address; that will also suppress the autocomplete feature for that entry.

The following line tells me that this is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt

This means that you saved a child document as a template file at some stage.
If you go to Modify->Templates->Detach from Template, you can remove the template structure from your document. All you then need to do is to re-save the document as a template.

How do I stop last web pages from auto loading in Safari?

I find the feature of Lion that auto-loads previous web pages (and previous open applications) annoying. I want to stop this function. I see the checked box that asks if I want to re-open applications when logging out but I want the default to be to NOT re-open the apps. I equally dislike the auto-opening of previous web pages in Safari. I know that I can clear my history but what I want is for my homepage to open when I run Safari and not the last page viewed. Any solutions?

Go to terminal and type in the following:
defaults write com.apple.Safari ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES
If you decide that you rather have the new resume behavior, execute the above commands but change YES to NO.
You can also do the same for Preview:
defaults write com.apple.Preview ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES

iDrifter: The full command is:
defaults write com.apple.Preview ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES
I was having the same problem and this is what I did:
1) Closed Safari
2) Changed the setting (mentioned) above in System Preferences
3) Enter the "defaults write ..." command into Terminal.
Now whever I launch Safari it does not load any pages.
