WEB PL/SQL Generated forms

Have anyone tried to "play" with this code, or rather.... the .TPX files in the $ORA_HOME/CGENW61/CVWTPL directory?
I have a need to "customize" several aspects of the generated code.
Anyone?

hi, if you need to customize the generated labels , try you with $ORA_HOME/CGENW61/CVWETC/WSGLM.PKS, replace the labels and details that you like change and run this script connected with your user. I made it, I run script WSGLME.PKS to change the labels to spanish.

  • PL/SQL Region : Getting values from PL/SQL generated form?  (APEX 2.2.0)

    Hi, all,
If I've got an PL/SQL region that dynamically generates a form using HTMLDB_ITEM.TEXTAREA, what is the best way to get the contents of those form data at submit time?
    Thanks,
    Don
    Message was edited by:

    Edited for clarity.

    Don,
The apex_item (nee htmldb_item) functions take an index number as a parameter. So if you give the textarea function p_idx=>1, it creates item f01. If you give it p_idx=>2, it creates item f02, etc. In your after-submit code, access the package variable apex_application.g_fxx where xx is the index number you used.

  • WEB Generated Forms Navigation

I am new to Designer6i and am learning it by creating a small internal WEB PL/SQL generated application. The app involves three tables/forms; table/form A is master for table/form B and table/form B is master of table C. The application generates and functions just fine but I would like to have the ability for the user to navigate from B or C back to the record list on form A as it was initially queried. I have created a navigation action item in B and C to return to the record list form (AINMCF) on A but the form requeries the entire table(A) losing the restricted record list. Is there a way for me redisplay/regenerate the record list for form A such that the search criteria or recordlist is maintained?
    Any insight will be appreciated.

It is at least possible. There may be an easier way, but the following outline would work. In the interest of getting you a quick answer, I'll give general ideas (I'm not currently in front of a Designer instance ...)
First, you could utilize custom frame sets to accomplish this. I often use a frame set that allows me to keep the record list in one frame while have the insert/update delete form in another.
Another option is to set the preference that determines how many levels deep context information is retained (I can't remember the pref name, off the top of my head). Set it sufficient to maintain information to your last form. Then you can add a link of you own, in the user text area, that points back to Table A, with the appropriate context info. I am not certain that this will work, as I don't know if you will have the query criteria available at that point.
Let me know if either of these work for you. If there is not enough info above, let me know and I will respond with more details (when I am in front of Designer and can answer properly).

  • Generating/running Web PL/SQL app from tutorial

My station is configured/installed as follows:
    windows 2000 server
    IIS 5
    IE 5
    Oracle Designer 6i
    Oracle repository
Oracle 8.0.5 in one oracle home
Oracle 8.1.7 in another oracle home
(both server environments are working correctly)
    My problem is:
I am able to perform all the tasks of the tutorial up to the point when you run the generated Web PL/SQL app. I believe the repository and server is setup correctly because the rest of the tutorial works. I also ran the "install web PL/SQL generator" option in the schema where the app was to be installed to without any errors.
When I generate the application it happens without any errors reported, but when I click the "list actions" button there is no item called "Run generated application using browser" option.
    I have 4 questions:
    1. How would I access the application via an URL? ie, http://myserver/some_web_location/webapp
    2. Can I use the generated web app portion on an IIS server?
    3. Where else can I look for information on this problem on the Web PL/SQL side?
    4. Anything else I may have missed?
    null

Also, if you're using any PLSQL object or collection types you'll need to think
about JPublisher and SQLJ to generate the java equivalents. I've had to do this
when integrating with the Oracle apps.

Does anybody know how to do this or if it can even be done. I workin
an area that has been developing Oracle PL/SQL web apps running with
the Oracle App Server V. 4.0.8. We wanted to update our database
and appserver to 9i but the IT standards group decided that
the only company approved appserver would be BAE WebLogic. Is it
possible to call Oracle stored procedures thru Weblogic instead of
using Oracles application server with the PL/SQL cartridge to handle
all PL/SQL web requests? Any help or information would be greatly
appreciated.Looks like you can get to PL/SQL reuests
    http://technet.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/basic/plsqlS
    ample/PLSQLSample.java.html
Obviuosly you don't get your JDBC connection from Oracles Data source.
    1) Create a Connection Pool with Oracles thin driver
    2) get a connection from this pool
    3) execute PL/SQL
Your gonna have to do some "porting" obviously.

  • Integegrate APEX within existing Web PL/SQL application?

We have an old Designer-built Web PL/SQL application that we'd like to enhance by integrating new pages built with APEX - both applications reside on the same dataase, etc.
The current application uses database authentication and consists of a couple of frames - 'menubar' contains a main menu and is a set of static HTML files, whilst 'home'  contains the web PL/SQL-generated pages. The generated pages are either holding a list of anchors to other web pl/sq pages (a 'local' menu)  or a 'real' web pl/sql page itself. I'd like to introduce APEX pages into this second frame through the use of the generated anchors.
    The application uses database authentication.
I am planning to introduce the APEX pages at the 'anchor' level, but I need to carry across the web pl/sql authentication to the APEX application. To do this, I *think* that the anchor will call a procedure that records the current user in a table and associates a token with that entry, it  performs a redirect to the APEX page and passing the 'token' as an application variable parameter which the application uses it to find the user and deletes the table entry.
Is there a simpler mechanism that I should be using?

    Hi,
    Have you upgraded Apex?
I assume you use XE EPG.
Have you grant execute privilege on procedure to DAD user ANONYMOUS?
GRANT EXECUTE ON WOLF_22.HELLO_WORLD TO ANONYMOUS;Have you changed wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local that it allow execute WOLF_22.HELLO_WORLD?
And write schema.procedure at upper case to function.
If you have not upgraded Apex, run as SYS or SYSTEM
    CREATE OR REPLACE function FLOWS_020100.wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local(
        procedure_name in varchar2)
    return boolean
    is
    begin
-- Administrator note: the procedure_name input parameter may be in the format:
        --    procedure
        --    schema.procedure
        --    package.procedure
        --    schema.package.procedure
-- If the expected input parameter is a procedure name only, the IN list code shown below
-- can be modified to itemize the expected procedure names. Otherwise you must parse the
-- procedure_name parameter and replace the simple code below with code that will evaluate
-- all of the cases listed above.
        if upper(procedure_name) in (
              'WOLF_22.HELLO_WORLD'
        ) then
            return TRUE;
        else
            return FALSE;
        end if;
    end wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local;

  • Generating web PL/SQL Form header (MODSHD) including modulename

    Hi all,
I want to generate a WEB PL/SQL form using a template.
The call to the stored function goes fine. I call package.function which returns a string, that is displayed. So far so good...
However, I want to display the name of the Module (or some other variable from Designer).
Can I pass that in some way to the function?
    Thanks,
    Rob

Never mind, I got it. Thanks i also have that problem. please send me your code.

  • Error in generating form with 6i

I have installed designer 6i rel 2 with form developer 6i on NT
    4.0.
When in design editor, I want to generate the form with generate
module, the system generate "CDR-21600: A running Generator or
    Utility has failed."
Also in action column writes: " It is possible that the internal
cache is now in an inconsistent state. You are therefore
recommended to close and restart the application."
Could anyone tell me what is the problem and how to solve it.
    thanks

Here is an document which describes some known causes of CDR-
21600 errors. I hope it will help you.
    PURPOSE
To describe some known causes of CDI-21600 errors and to
    suggest possible solutions and workarounds.
    SCOPE & APPLICATION
This note was written for users of Oracle Designer releases 2.1.x
    and 6.0.
CDI-21600 errors occur most frequently during Design Capture and
when generating forms with the Forms and WebServer generators.
    Investigating CDI-21600 errors
In Oracle Designer Release 2.1.2 and Release 6.0, this error has
    the form:
CDI-21600 'A running generator or utility has failed'
The Release 2.1.1 error message was: 'Generator or Utility throw
    an Exception'
The CDI-21600 error message means that the generator is hitting
an unhandled exception, also known as a GPF (general protection
fault). The CDI-21600 error masks the underlying exception error.
To see the real error do the following:
    1. Go into the Registry Editor (REGEDIT).
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\oracle\des2_70
    3. Set EXCEPT_HANDLING to 0 (by default it is 1).
Repeat the action that resulted in the error.
Known Causes of CDI-21600 Errors and Possible Solutions
Some of the reasons why CDI-21600 errors occur are listed below.
    1. A common cause of CDI-21600 errors is failure to install the
    necessary
    Developer patches.
See [NOTE:64630.1] Developer Patches required to run
    Designer with Developer
    2. Check that Designer is running on a supported database. Also
    check that the
    TNS connection is correct.
See [NOTE:60705.1] Designer Certification Matrix (HTML)
    3. Check for 'dangling' foreign keys, in other words FKs no longer
    owned by any
table in the repository. Delete all invalid constraints.
Invalid constraints may be created if you use the repository
    dump utility to
dump and restore external foreign keys referencing tables
    shared into the
application system, without dumping and restoring the tables
    that own them.
If you restore a complete dump (rather than a 'skeleton' one),
    and then use
the 'Reconnect Share Links' option when restoring, you may be
    able to
    resolve this problem.
To get a complete list of 'dangling' constraints in your
    repository, connect
using SQL*Plus and use the following query:
    SELECT app.name, key.name
    FROM ci_application_systems app, ci_constraints key
    WHERE key.table_reference IS NULL
    AND key.application_system_owned_by = app.id;
You can also run CKAZANAL.ANAL_REFERENCES on your
    repository and delete all
the invalid constraints that it finds. You can run the Repository
    Analyzer
from: Front Panel -> Repository Administration Utility -> Utilities.
NOTE: There may be inconsistencies in the repository that the
    Repository
Analyzer cannot fix. You might solve such problems by
    dropping all the
tables of your application, recreate them from the ERD,
    then use the
    DDT and recreate your modules.
[BUG:847190] CDI-21600 during forms generation: 'dangling'
    foreign key
"Since the generator is running on a repository that contains
    invalid
constraints and the Repository Analyzer solves the problem,
    bug closed as
    unfeasible to fix."
    4. Check your modules for invalid or missing references such as
    missing window
    placements.
    5. Try generating your module against default templates and
    object libraries.
    6. When capturing forms or libraries, try capturing the form or
    library without
application logic, then capture the application logic on its own.
See [NOTE:1064690.6] CDI-21600 when capturing design of
    form with
    application logic
[BUG:757541] DESCAP: CDI-21600 error reported when
    capturing with
    application logic
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0
[BUG:926383] Duplicate of [BUG:757541] This has been fixed in
    2.1.2 patch
779559. However you would be advised to apply a later patch
    such as 855635
which fixes more bugs in this area.
    7. Make sure that all objects that are referenced by the form have
    been
captured into the repository before capturing the form.
    8. A CDI-21600 will occur if a lookup usage displays only one
    column of
datatype DATE or if the column of datatype DATE is displayed
    as the first
    item in the block.
    Workaround
Add more column usages to the lookup block and do not
    display the DATE data
type column usage as the first item in the block.
    9. [BUG:810472] CDI-21600 when 'Argument in Caller' is set
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.0
    Workaround
Make sure that you have an argument in the called module that
    is mapped to
the "Argument Passed Value" in the calling module. The only
    way to get this
mapping back once the APV has the <Module Argument> label
    is to delete it
    and recreate it.
    10. [BUG:801736] CDI-21600 on design capture of a form with
    subclassed object
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0.3.1.0 (backport)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5
You have an item that has been subclassed to an object.
    Checking the Design
Capture option 'Capture Control Blocks' causes the CDI-21600
    error. Uncheck
'Capture Control Blocks' and the problem does not occur. Open
    the FMB in
Forms*Builder and look at Data Blocks -> Items. Break the link
    to the
object, save the FMB, and the form will capture (similar to
    [BUG:794872]).
Alternatively, ensure the link can be established.
    11. [BUG:850436] CDI-21600 on generation of a form with template
    having
    subclassed object group
You try to generate a form out of Designer that uses a user-
    defined
template. If a collection of objects in the template is grouped
    into an
object group, dragged into the object library and then either
    copied or
subclassed into a form, when the form is generated you get a
    CDI-21600
    error.
    12. [BUG:822659] Module generation fails (CDI-21600) with multi-
    column PK having
    long prompt text
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.2
Module generation with multi-column primary key having long
    prompt text
causes CDI-21600 with preference MSGSFT set.
    Workaround
Shorten the prompt text of PKs may not be not applicable. You
    may loose end
    user information.
You may have the same problem with a mandatory compound
    FK. CASEOFG tries to
generate a message '<P1> must be entered', where <P1>
    contains all the
prompts of the bound items from the FK. If you reduce the
    length of the
prompts, or set MSGSFT = NULL or WEDI = S or property
    Mandatory?=No, it
    works correctly.
    13. [BUG:792542] Capturing application logic causes CDI-21600
    (V2 style
    triggers)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.5
After removal of the v2 triggers, the form captures/merges OK
    on 5.0.24.8,
provided patch 875027 has not been applied.
    14. [BUG:790877] CDI-21600 if the primary/foreign keys have no
    key components
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.11
Generating a module with tables having a primary key not
    correctly defined
(no PK component) will cause a CDI-21600 error. This can
    occur when
unloading a module from the RON. If you pick up the module
    (and only the
module) in the unload set, the table and its PK are unloaded as
    a skeleton.
Loading the .DAT file into a new application will create a PK
    without a
    component.
    15. [BUG:771549] CDI-21600 if cannot connect to the DB with
    connect string in
    Options (Compile)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.13
If you cannot connect to the DB with the connect string
    specified in options
(Compile), the forms generator will fail with CDI-21600.
This problem occurs when you cannot connect to the DB
    because:
    - the username or password is wrong;
    - or the SQL*Net alias is not defined in the TNSNAMES.ORA
    file;
    - or the SQL*Net listener is not started;
    - or the DB is down.
    16. [BUG:785106] CDI-21600 when generate master detail form
    with preserve layout
[BUG:855812] is a duplicate of this bug.
Fixed In Ver: 5.0.24.6.0 (Bug:860426 Backport request for 2.1.2)
    Fixed In Ver: 6.0
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3
You have a master-detail Form with the Master having items
    partly on a TAB
Canvas. Generate Module works OK. You enter Forms Builder
    and move some
items on the tabs (just small changes, items are still on the
    same tabs).
You change the look of the Detail and change Records
    Displayed. Now in
Designer you generate the Module with Preserve Layout. You
    get a CDI-21600
error. The problem might reproduce without doing any changes
    in Forms
Builder, just by generating with Preserve Layout.
    17. [BUG:891306] If primary key column of lookup in check
    constraint comment of
    base table
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.5
    Workaround
Do not use the name of the bound item that is based on the
    primary key
column of the lookup table in a check constraint comment of
    the base table.
    18. [BUG:896026] Forms gen throws assertion failure in
    CVINI/BUILDACTIONITEM@/CV/CVI/CVIBNI.CPP
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.7
A problem is caused by a PL/SQL definition (function, package,
    procedure)
being defined as a called module for the module you are trying
    to generate.
To resolve the problem and enable the module to be generated,
    remove all
Called Modules that are PL/SQL definitions (functions,
    procedures or
    packages).
See [NOTE:2107207.6] CDI-21600 during generation of module
    or Assertion
    Failure \cv\cvi\cvibni.cpp
    19. [BUG:812333] CDI-21600 generating a web module after
    adding an unbound item
    Fixed In Ver: 6.5.3.0
Backport [BUG:1280667] raised to fix by 6.0.3.9
You add an unbound item (SQL expression) to a Web module.
    When you try to
generate the module you get a CDI-21600 error. If you delete the
    unbound
item the Web module generates correctly.
In a test case the problem occurred during validation of the
    derivation
text, if the master module component was in a different module.
    A workaround
was to rearrange module components so that this was not the
    case.
    20. [BUG:1627963] CCVDIAG::TRACEGENERATORMESSAGE
    WHEN GENERATING INCORRECT
    DERIVATION EXPRESSION
    Message
CDR-21605: Failed while processing Module <mod> in function
    CCVDiag::TraceGeneratorMessage BOF
    Cause
The generator failed due to an unexpected error - the
error indicates the object the generator was processing
    when it failed.

  • Web Pl/Sql

Can anybody tell me How can we develop web page using PL/Sql Web tool kit..
If anyone have the document on this .. plz send me ..
    Thanks..
    Lalit

    > as u said that for developing the web pl/Sql there is need for HTML..
if u have then send me HTML document related developing Web Pl/Sql
PL/SQL and HTML have very little to do with one another. HTML is HTML - and you will generate the same HTML for a form for example, whether you use Perl, PHP, Java, PL/SQL or any other language.
If you do not know HTML, then you will need to learn it.
Oracle provides PL/SQL packages that can write HTML for you - so instead of manually writing a HTML FORM tag, you can call a PL/SQL proc to write it.
However, that still requires you to know what a FORM tag is, what an ACTION is, what INPUT types there are in a FORM, etc. etc.
The definitive HTML specification is at [url http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/]W3.Org.
But as I've said in that other post, and as already suggested in this thread, consider using Oracle Application Express (APEX). This requires very little PL/SQL and very little HTML knowledge to put something like an input table or a report together.
If you do not know HTML and do not understand the complexities of a stateless web architecture, it is far better using a tool like APEX that deals with that complexities for you - heck, even "web developer experts" prefer using tools like APEX instead of writing the underlaying code themselves.

  • Calling web service from oracle forms 10g

    Problem Description:
I'm following the steps as per the doc:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gr2/howto/webservicefromforms/ws_10_1_3_from_forms.html
to create a java stub to call external web service and then use java importer in oracle forms to call this web service from oracle forms.
WSDL for external web service used is http://gend:83/DesignService.svc?wsdl
The service was developed by us.
Calling the web service using JDeveloper works fine but when I complie in Oracle Forms it returns wrong number of types of arguments in call SENDHELLO.
The code from oracle form to call web service is as below:
    DECLARE
    jo ora_java.jobject;
    xo ora_java.jobject;
    rv varchar2(2000);
    ex ora_java.jobject;
    str varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
    jo := GendServiceClient.new;
    rv := GendServiceClient.sendHello('Nora');
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR then
    message('Unable to call out to Java, ' ||ORA_JAVA.LAST_ERROR);
    WHEN ORA_JAVA.EXCEPTION_THROWN then
    ex := ORA_JAVA.LAST_EXCEPTION;
    message(Exception_.toString(ex));
    END;
Any help/ideas on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Edited by: KE Nora Loera on Jun 1, 2012 1:24 PM

My primary skill is PL/SQL but the only information I found on Oracle's site to call a web service from a 10g Form was creating a jar file and importing the java class. Since I don't want to ask our corporate IT to make changes on the UNIX box for the jar files I went a different route.
I use UTL_HTTP.BEGIN_REQUEST to call a URL then load I load the data to a table as a CLOB since we have more than 4000 characters. Now I need to parse the XML and load it into a form. I have never done this so if there is a helpful site please let me know. I have looked at several sites but none do what I want.
    Thanks

  • Calling web service from oracle forms fails with ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR

    Problem Description:
I'm following the steps as per the doc:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/10gr2/howto/webservicefromforms/ws_10_1_3_from_forms.html

Calling the web service using JDeveloper works fine but from Oracle Forms returns ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR; Unable to call out to Java, Invalid object type for argument 1
The code from oracle form to call web service is as below:
    DECLARE

    ex ora_java.jobject;

Any help/ideas on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it is the message line - so basically this call fails => rv:= CurrencyConvertorStub.ConversionRate(jo,'CAD','USD'); and control goes in the exception block

  • Sending an email from inside a web pl/sql procedure

    Hi,
I need to send an email to a predefined address say "[email protected]",
and use a prefedined mail server "server11" from inside a web pl/sql procedure.
I want this to be oblivious to the user, so no forms etc...
Is there a way to do this using mailto:// without something popping up?
Something like this would be first class:
sendmail( to, from, subject, text, mailserver )
    Thanks in advance,
    Barry

    Hi,
One needs to create a procedure or write a PL/SQL block which would do it

  • Opening a secure web page from oracle forms for credit card validation

    Hi All,
I searched for the topic in the forms forum but couldn't find a solution.
Requirement: As per some compliance, our application cannot do a credit card validation from our forms application, instead we need to use a java code which a third party will provide ,it's an iframe (they say, i am layman when it comes to Java, don't know what is it), but they say that, within your forms application you call our iframe do the credit card validation over there get a token of response back from us and use this token as a confirmation in your application.
Problem: I could not find a solution anywhere wherein i can call a web page from forms. Now, this web page should be modal, i.e. unless i close this page i cannot access my forms application. Please guide me if anyone has done that.
Secondly if i could make it work, how will i communicate with this external web page, like getting back some token value and use it back in my forms application. I am completely clueless.
As we are using Oracle designer for generating forms, we cannot use a bean type thing as designer does not have the bean-item type defined!
Appreciate if anyone could provide me pointers for a solution to this problem statement.
We are on forms 9i -- Version 9.0.2.11.0

The simple way to do it is to use a PJC (java bean) + apache httpclient library..
If you have a webservice than you can use Axis library and wsdl2java to create java classes from wsdl.
also you can use httpclient library to simulate http protocol (request/response actions)..
(for example.. you have a credit card number.. you post this number to specified URL and then you parse the response from credit card validation server)..
Post here some documentation (specification) on how to call the credit card validation .. (maybe it's a secure webservice?)
Here you have a httpclient library documentation:
    http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/tutorial/html/index.html
Also you can implement bean area in designer.. If you need help I can post here how we do it in our project..
also look here: Call webservice from PJC over https protocol
