Let me give some details and break up the problem
in more specific questions:
- In Designer 8.1 I click new data binding --> wsdl -->
http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx?wsdl
A message box comes up and says "cannot load wsdl file"
==> 1. Question:
Why maybe refuses Designer to load the http-wsdl,
although this option is explicitly allowed?
- When I save the wsdl to a file, Designer loads it
without any problems. The web service uses two input parameters
(CountryName and CityName) and returns an xml-string GetWeatherResult)
like the one in my first posting. I drag these fields from the binding view to my form, and it runs ok!
- THE PROBLEM IS, THAT I NEET TO EXTRACT THE ELEMENT FIELDS
FROM THE RESULT XML-STRING!
==> 2. Question:
How to extract xml element fields from wsdl output into a form?
- I tried with eclipse and XmlSpy to build a modified wsdl file
with structured output definition, so that the specific element fields
show up in the data binding view and are usable to my form,
and the modified wsdl maps consistently to the web service result string.
So far without success: In the PDF -preview or Reader-
when the wsdl-binding is executed and the web service output
should show up in the result fields, just nothing happens.

Process web service output

I'm new to ADF Mobile so I want to ask is it possible to process a web service output before being displayed at view? I want to pass the web service through a method call activity before passing forward to a view.

Hi,
you can configure a PageDef file for a method activity and then invoke the WebService. However, the returned data will not persist until you get to the view. So either you need to query the WS result and save it in a Java bean for access on the view you navigate to or have the WS executed when the view loads.

REST Web Service Output Parameter not working in POST Handler

I've created a RESTful Web Service in Oracle Apex, using a POST method as "handler". I've setup 11 input parameters which all work fine, it is my one output parameter that does not return successfully.
Here is detail on the Output Paramter
Name: returns
Bind Variable Name: :returns
Access Method: OUT
Source Type: Response
Parameter Type: String
The actual source is a call to a pl/sql package that returns a value that I set :returns equal to (eg :returns := v_result). I've tried this with Source Type Header and still the same result, 'no output'.
I see APEX is calling wwv_flow_api.create_restful_param to generate the parameters (for importing), is there any documentation on this procedure?
How can I get this output parameter to return something in the response?
The request accepts a Json payload.

Certain data missing from Web service output in LV8.5.1

I just installed Labview 8.5.1 and thereby got rid of a problem where the Import Web Service Wizard hung.
However, a new problem appeared. The XML output of my web service call does not contain the actual result values. When I call the web service using SOAPUI from http://www.soapui.org/, I can see the actual result values in a section of the XML output called diffgr:diffgram. When I inspect the Labview XML output, the whole diffgram section is missing! Se attachments.
Any help appreciated!

It is on our company's intranet. The description in wsdl-format is attached.
(You might have to save it as a .txt file on your hard drive in order to view it with Notepad.)

How to read web services output with PHP

Hello,
I have a successful web service running from the tutorial provided by labview. The data does display when accessing the local URL with no issues. My problem is when I try to read the data using php I get a blank page. I have tried XML and json output. The json output stalls the page from loading and eventually I get a error 500 in IE. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you verify that you see data when using HTTP Get? You can find this function from Data Communication >> Protocol >> HTTP Client.
For example:
If so, this really is a PHP issue rather than a National Instruments/LabVIEW. Take a look at this for more help.

Set the Web Service output Language

Hi,
I have created (exposed) a web service based on a ABAP function module.
Among the output data there are some values which are correctly translated
in the login language (ITA or ENG) if I use the SAP GUI to test the function.
On the contrary, if I use the "Web Service Navigator" the same data are returned
in German Language. How can I change this behaviour ? How Can I do to return
these parameters in a choosen language (like ITA or ENG)?

Best Practice Web Service Output Mapping (deep structure)

My current scenario is as follows:
In my BPM I consume a Web Service which was created from a Function Module in the Backend.
This Web Service has the same Data Types as the original BAPI.
For instance a table containing return values (BAPIRET2).
When the Web Service inside the process is executed I assume that my return table is filled.
Based on that return table I want to decide what to do next using a gateway.
What would be the best way to process the table in a gateway condition?
The table may contain several entries so I guess a simple not() function does not suffice.
I hope you do understand my problem here.

Hi Bastian,
the parallel for each loop feature will come with NW 7.2.
You will have a new property pane at each activity (automated activity, human task, referenced subflow, and the embedded subflow which will also come with NW 7.1) where you can switch on the looping.
If you do that, the activity will be started (in parallel) for each line item in a list of data from a data object in the context (the list can also be specified in the new property pane).
At the end of each activity execution the result can be mapped via append into another DO from the context.
Unfortunately, this feature is too extensive to be downported to 7.11

In our project we want to implement webservices which will be consumed by OSB (Oracle Service Bus).
I am new to webservices but know that you can create webservice for an RFC , Utilities --> More Utilities --> Create Webservices.
My Queries are as follows:
1. What is the output of Webservices , like I have created one FM it will give the output in Export parameters or tables , so when Oracle service bus will consume our webservice how it will get data in XXML format or some other.
2. If in XML format then is it possible to change the tags of the XML , if yes then please tell what is the way for it.

The BLS transaction used as a web service outputs a text string which I tested using an xacute query . while executing the transaction as a web service the tracer tells me that there is no output .

"Writer" Module not working in web service mode

I designed a experiment to do a prediction work and automatically write the result to AzureSqlServer.
I published a web service from the experiment to trigger the prediction procedure, it worked very well until February. But from then on, the database had never received any data from the module triggered by web service though the web service always
run successfully.However, when I directly run the experiment, the writer works again.
I noticed the experiment dashboard has a new function that can switch between experiment view and web service view. In web service view, all the modules that the “web service output” module not depend on turn grey, including the "writer".
Is that the reason?

When you called the web service from the test dialogue, did it work? If you get any error, please paste it here.
Also, please take a look at the example in
this doc which also uses a writer. Note that if you have a writer writing the results to a destination, you typically don't need a web service output. See the below images, 1 with Web service output, another with a Writer. The writer needs to
be configured.

External Business Component vs Web Service

Hello,
We are using Siebel 8.1 and we are in need of referencing data in a external data source (DB2) that needs to present in a read only format this information within Siebel. We are trying to find the best path based on using
1. External Business Component
2. Obtain the data when needed via a web service
Option 1 is described in the training materials we have from the training courses we've taken, but web services are the corporate standard, since using a web service would insulate the Siebel application from changes that happen to the external database and would be reusable.
So far, we have been unable to determine how to call a web service from an applet that displays the data. The closest we've been able to come is to create a task flow to run the web service, and then place the data into a transient business component.
Does anyone have any recommendations or past experiences related to this they can share for the best path?

Hi Bob,
As you said you would be using web service approach. I feel following would be good method to display web service data in Siebel Applets
1.     Create Virtual Business Component (VBC)
2.     Create Applet Based on VBC
3.     Create Customer Business Service which will call web service and display data in applet
You can use “SIA Billing Extern Service” to minimize script. This Service uses input output in the form of integration object structure. So using it you can directly map web service output to VBC fields.

Failed to publish a web service

Please help me with this.

There could be many causes for this error. Two most common causes in my experience:
1. There is a split module between web-service input and web-service output path.
2. If doing text analytics, forgetting to just pick the label column as an output as the output (you may need to insert a project columns module to do this). -- otherwise the web-service would have to be able to return thousands of hashed values.
Are you running into either of these issues?

Omniportlet web service xsl filter

Hi,
i am using Oracle application server portal 10g (10.1.2)
Does anybody have a sample XSL filter that I can use to transform web service output to ROWSET/ROW form?
The XML data that is showed when I hit "Test" button is as follows and I just want to keep the ROWSET section.
I am doing anything wrong?

If the results are not in rowset/row format, what would happen? The reason I am asking is that I am getting a blank page when I don't use the xsl at all, but when I try to use the xsl, I get the error.
Is there a sample somewhere on oracle's site that I could look at? (I watched the omniportlet/webservice tutorial on PortalStudio, but their tutorial did not use an xsl filter, neither did it show the content of the files it used.)

If i set RenderOptionsSpec values its not throwing Invalid element RenderOptionsSpec - CB error but its throwing ALC-DSC-000-000 internal error
