Web Services with complext objects as method parameters

Can anyone point me to an example of web services that accept complex objects as parameters, using annotations?
Appreciate it.

- SJSE 8.1 is based on an older version of NB (NB5.0).
You should definitely continue with NetBeans, since all development is now being done in NetBeans; all the major JSE modules have been moved to opensource at netbeans.org and are all being developed there. There are as yet no future plans to work on further releases for JSE.

  • How to create web services with complex objects as parameters

    Hi,
    Not sure if this is the right place, but...
    I'm using Netbeans 5.5 and trying to learn web services.
    Creating a simple web service with simple parameters like strings and integers is nice and easy. I'm now trying to take the next step, and create a web service with a more complex schema as a parameter.
    I've tried two approaches, and hit dead ends on both:
    (1) Define my complex schema as an xsd file, and then create a WSDL file. Creating the schema and saving it in my EFB project works fine; when I try to create a new WSDL file, the IDE gives me a button to import external schemas - which is where the problem is: the Browse simply won't find my newly created schema file.
    (2) Define a Java class (in this case, it's a fairly simple example containing a single ArrayList), and then use the IDE to generate a web service from Java. The IDE does this fine, but I now have no idea how to consume or test the web service - I don't know where to look for the WSDL that has presumably been generated, and I'm also a bit iffy over what answers to give the WSDL creator about port names etc.
    Ideally, I'd prefer to get approach 1 to work - can someone point me in the direction of a sensible tutorial for these things?
    (Happy to carry on using Netbeans 5.5 or to revert to Sun Studio Enterprise, which I was playing with before.)
    All help appreciated, Thanks

  • How can I invoke web service in BPM Object's method?

    In ALBPM 5.7,AJaX can code by Call BPM Object's method.So I want to invoke web service via AJaX by BPM method.
    My sample code is:
    1: HelloWorldWebService ws = HelloWorldWebService();
    2: String param = "John";
    3: String retresult = "";
    4: ws.sayHello(name : parame; out result : retresult);
    and,I have import HelloWorldWebService by wsdl into catalog.
    In fact,at line 1 there is a error(fuego.connector.ConnectorRuntimeException: session is not started). Web service's instance is not created.
    Anybody can help me? thanks.

    Hi,
    I tried calling a simple webservice deployed in weblogic 8.1(see code) and it was working fine for me.
    Code for WS
    package service;
    import com.bea.control.JwsContext;
    import com.bea.jws.Protocol;
    import org.xmlsoap.schemas.soap.envelope.HeaderDocument;
    import com.bea.xml.XmlException;
    import org.w3c.dom.Element;
    import org.w3c.dom.Node;
    import org.w3c.dom.NodeList;
    public class CheckCredit implements com.bea.jws.WebService
    * @common:context
    JwsContext context;
    static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
    * @common:operation
    * @jws:protocol form-get="false" form-post="false"
    public boolean getCreditRating(String cardNumber)
    System.out.println("Card number is: " + cardNumber );
    boolean result = ((int)(Math.random() *100)) % 2 == 0?true:false;
    return result;
    Code from ALBPM Object method
    creditRatingResult as Bool
    getCreditRating CheckCreditService
    using cardNumber = "1234-5567-4667-4566"
    returning creditRatingResult = creditRatingResult
    logMessage "Result is: " + creditRatingResult
    What I suggest for you problem is:
    1. Check the server on which you have deployed the WS. Does it require any sort of authentication prior to connecting to the WS
    2. It seems you are using Java style in ALBPM. Try switching to PBL. I don't know how it makes a difference, but sometimes it helps

  • Web Services with Complex Objects (Urgent !!)

    Hi,
    My last post was on a problem using IBM-RAD (Service) and AXIS2 (Client) in "New to Java" Forum. That is one of the trial scenarios I'm working on nowadays. Hope, I'll get some useful reply soon.
    Now, I need a suggestion about the application I'm working upon. It is as follows:
    (i) The application (i.e. Service Class) takes some primitive,String and/or some bean object as input
    (ii) It returns a bean object [or an array (can use collection class also if possible) of bean objects].
    (iii) The bean properties are primitive,String , other bean objects, and/or some collection object(Vector / ArrayList etc.) i.e. it should handle complex objects.
    (iv) The Service should run on Websphere and Client on Tomcat.
    A pictorial representation is given below:
    [primitive/String/bean object (Input arg)]
    [(Contains  primitive/String/other bean objects/collection class)] Bean <---------> Service <----------------------- Client
    [Calls bean] |===============> Client
    [Returns bean (or array of beans / collection object)]
    I'm now trying (by building test applications) a combination of IBM-RAD (Service) and AXIS2 (Client), but facing problems in handling array of beans and/or collection classes either on Service or on the Client side.
    So, I need some suggestions on whether I'm going the right way, or need to change my approach (or technology). Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Please reply ASAP, it is urgent.
    Thanks in advance,
    Suman

    no problem for me, so it's not urgent.

  • Web service with multiple out parameters

    Hi Developers,
    I have been playing around with som web services in the developer studio.
    I can create a webservice from a normal ejb.
    But i can only get one out parameter, which is the return parameter of the ejb.
    I tried to make an object to use as return parameter, but then i couldn't use the method for the web service.
    Can anyone tell me how to make a web service with multiple out parameters?
    Br Rasmus

    Hi Developers,
    I have the same question, is it possible to have multiple outgoing parameters?
    When not, does SAP Netweaver knows a IN-OUT parameter? Because I found on the internet that it is possible to have a IN-OUT parameter. But that was with the BEA Weblogic 8.x.
    When not, is then the only solution to return a object? With in this object all the parameters you want.
    Or otherwise is there a other workaround?
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to call web service with parameters?

    Hi
    I'm testing a distributed architecture where parameters are queried from an ODBC database, and a web service called with resulting parameters as input, returning a computed result to the integrated Crystal report. I'm unable to successfully associate the database fields with the web service parameters - the web service is always called with empty parameters. When I call the web service manually from CR by entering parameters, it works as expected. I'm using a sub-report with fields linked to the main report.
    Has anyone done something like this / know how to correctly link database fields with web service parameters?
    Help much appreciated,
    Lance

    An update - I solved this problem as follows:
    In CR Design view, right-click on sub-report object, select 'Change Subreport Links'. In the links dialog, transfer database fields into 'Field(s) to link to' list. Select a field in 'Field(s) to link to' and in 'Subreport parameter field to use' below, map the field to the appropriate web service parameter field in the dropdown.
    Tested with version 11.5.8.826.

  • Weblogic - a web service with java.lang.Object parameter

    hi all,
    i'm creating a web service with a java.lang.Object parameter.
    my question is as follows:
    when a client calls the web service, how to i get the soap message object and convert it to soap message string using the parameter?
    thanks,

    Here's some code from one of the Axis samples, this shows the basic process of making a call:
    package samples.message;
    import org.apache.axis.client.Service;
    import org.apache.axis.client.Call;
    import org.apache.axis.message.SOAPBodyElement;

    public class TestMsg {
    public String doit(String[] args) throws Exception {
    Options opts = new Options(args);
    opts.setDefaultURL("http://localhost:8080/axis/services/MessageService");
    Service service = new Service();
    Call call = (Call) service.createCall();
    call.setTargetEndpointAddress( new URL(opts.getURL()) );
    SOAPBodyElement[] input = new SOAPBodyElement[2];
    input[0] = new SOAPBodyElement(XMLUtils.StringToElement("urn:foo",
    "e1", "Hello"));
    input[1] = new SOAPBodyElement(XMLUtils.StringToElement("urn:foo",
    "e1", "World"));
    Vector elems = (Vector) call.invoke( input );
    SOAPBodyElement elem = null ;
    Element e = null ;
    elem = (SOAPBodyElement) elems.get(0);
    e = elem.getAsDOM();
    String str = "Res elem[0]=" + XMLUtils.ElementToString(e);
    elem = (SOAPBodyElement) elems.get(1);
    e = elem.getAsDOM();
    str = str + "Res elem[1]=" + XMLUtils.ElementToString(e);
    return( str );
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
    String res = (new TestMsg()).doit(args);

  • Exporting to Microsoft Excel from a DataView Web Part consuming a Web Service with Parameters

    In Sharepoint Designer, I've developed a page displaying a DataView Web Part which consumes an XML Web Service with three parameters.  These parameters are passed in from a simple Form Web Part containing three input fields.  I am able to provide default values for the web service so the dataview is initially populated, and when I enter in new parameters, the web service goes back, grabs the requested data and displays in the dataview nice and slick.
    The problem I'm having is this: In Internet Explorer 7, when I right-click on the DataView Web Part and select Export to Microsoft Excel, Excel opens up, says "ExternalData_1: Getting Data..." and returns the data from the web service which applies to the default parameter values each and every time, regardless of whether I have changed the parameters on the web page, and contrary to what the DataView Web Part displays on the screen.
    Has anyone else run into this, and is there a solution to the problem?
    Best regards,
    Mark Christie

    Hi Bullish35,
     It's possible to provide single export button and export your 4 dataview webparts. Here's the modified code.
    <Script Language="Javascript">
    function isIE() // Function to Determine IE or Not
    return /msie/i.test(navigator.userAgent) && !/opera/i.test(navigator.userAgent);
    function exportToExcel() // Function to Export the Table Data to Excel.
    var isIEBrowser = isIE();
    if(isIEBrowser== false)
    alert('Please use Internet Explorer for Excel Export Functionality.');
    return false;
    else
    var strTableID1 = "detailsTable1", strTableID2 = "detailsTable2", strTableID3 = "detailsTable3", strTableID4 = "detailsTable4";
    var objExcel = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application");
    var objWorkBook = objExcel.Workbooks.Add;
    var objWorkSheet = objWorkBook.Worksheets(1);
    var detailsTable = document.getElementById(strTableID1);
    var intRowIndexGlobal= 0;
    for (var intRowIndex=0;intRowIndex<detailsTable1.rows.length;intRowIndex++)
    for (var intColumnIndex=0;intColumnIndex<detailsTable1.rows(intRowIndex).cells.length;intColumnIndex++)
    if(intColumnIndex != 3)
    objWorkSheet.Cells(intRowIndexGlobal+1,intColumnIndex+1) = detailsTable1.rows(intRowIndex).cells(intColumnIndex).innerText;
    intRowIndexGlobal++;
    for (var intRowIndex=0;intRowIndex<detailsTable2.rows.length;intRowIndex++)
    for (var intColumnIndex=0;intColumnIndex<detailsTable2.rows(intRowIndex).cells.length;intColumnIndex++)
    if(intColumnIndex != 3)
    objWorkSheet.Cells(intRowIndexGlobal+1,intColumnIndex+1) = detailsTable2.rows(intRowIndex).cells(intColumnIndex).innerText;
    intRowIndexGlobal++;
    for (var intRowIndex=0;intRowIndex<detailsTable3.rows.length;intRowIndex++)
    for (var intColumnIndex=0;intColumnIndex<detailsTable3.rows(intRowIndex).cells.length;intColumnIndex++)
    if(intColumnIndex != 3)
    objWorkSheet.Cells(intRowIndexGlobal+1,intColumnIndex+1) = detailsTable3.rows(intRowIndex).cells(intColumnIndex).innerText;
    intRowIndexGlobal++;
    for (var intRowIndex=0;intRowIndex<detailsTable4.rows.length;intRowIndex++)
    for (var intColumnIndex=0;intColumnIndex<detailsTable4.rows(intRowIndex).cells.length;intColumnIndex++)
    if(intColumnIndex != 3)
    objWorkSheet.Cells(intRowIndexGlobal+1,intColumnIndex+1) = detailsTable4.rows(intRowIndex).cells(intColumnIndex).innerText;
    intRowIndexGlobal++;
    objExcel.Visible = true;
    objExcel.UserControl = true;
    </Script>
    I haven't tested this. But it should work! :)Regards,

  • Consuming Domino web service with JAXB encounters Method Response element

    I am able to consume a Domino R7 (Axis) web service with JAX-WS using Dispatch<SOAPMessage>. When I try using Dispatch<Object> however, JAXB throws an exception because it encounters an unexpected tag.
    The XML from the web service looks like this:
    <Envelope>
        <Body>
            <WebServiceMethodResponse>
                <WebServiceMethodReturn>
                    The meaning of life
                </WebServiceMethodReturn>
            </WebServiceMethodResponse>
        </Body>
    </Envelope>With Dispatch<SOAPMessage>, I can get to the meaning of life quickly using SOAPBody.getElementsByTagName( "WebServiceMethodReturn" ) but with Dispatch<Object>, it appears I must also create a class for the WebServiceMethodResponse element to make JAXB happy. I don't see this happening in other people's examples. Has the Return-element-within-Response-element design been eliminated in pure JAX-WS web services, or is this something that only IBM does?

    In case anyone's search leads them here, I've posted the solution at:
    *[http://www.pby.com/general.nsf/webarticles/dominowebservice01]*
    It is an exhaustive article (not "Hello World"!) that goes through several versions of the web service and client - hopefully explaining all+ pieces of the puzzle:
    ~ web service code,
    ~ WSDLs
    ~ schema
    ~ thoroughly-documented clients that do and do not use JAXB
    ~ ... that use generated artifacts
    ~ ... that customize existing POJOs
    ~ the SOAP messages generated in each direction
    ~ the necessary JAXB annotations
    ~ explanations of how the code works
    ~ explanations of how namespaces affect the code
    ~ on and on and on...
    My constant goal was to write an uncomplicated solution that uses as few artifacts (two) and annotations as possible. The end result is a small, fast JAX-WS 2.0 client that uses JAXB to invoke and consume a secured Domino 7 (1.4.2 JVM + AXIS) web service, using RPC/literal SOAP messages.

  • Calling Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery possible?

    Hi,
    is it possible to call the Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery? If yes, can someone post me a small example?
    Background:
    My plan is to create a html with a form which is also uploaded then into the reportserver. I open this html later by clicking a link in a report (with gotoURL open.window). The report opens the html inclusive the overtaken of some additional parameters
    (reportname, reportdescription). These parameters I will use in the html-form as defaultvalues for the corresponding input-text-fields. Now the user can make some changes (i.e. the decription). With a click on a button I will send the new description to
    the Reporting Services Web Service by using the SetProperties method, closing the html-window and reload the report. Important is that I want to upload the html also into the reportserver itself.
    I have already found how to consume a web service via jQuery but with the Reporting Services Web Service I did not get it running in my tests.
    I have referenced to the following jQuery.js: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js
    Here you can see my tests I made with the results:
    $.ajax({
    type: 'POST',
    url: 'http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/ListChildren',
    data: {'ItemPath':'/','Recursive':false},
    complete: function(xData, status) {
    $('p').html($(xData.responseXML).text()); // result
    $("#divStatus").text( status ); // status }
    I got a NULL response with Status success. But where are the items?
    Another test which should response only one value was that:
    $.ajax({
    type: "POST",
    contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
    url: "http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/GetItemType",
    data: {"Item":"/Development"}, // Development is a Folder in my Reportserver-Root
    dataType: "xml",
    success: function (msg) {
    $("#divResult").html(msg.responseXML);
    error: function (data, status, error) {
    $("#divResult").html("WebSerivce unreachable<br> <br>" + data.responseXML + "<br> <br>(" + error + ")");
    Here I got an [object Error]
    And here my last test:
    var soapMessage = '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>\
    <soap:Envelope \
    xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" \
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" \
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">\
    <soap:Body>\
    <GetItemType xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ReportingServer">\
    <ItemPath>/Development</ItemPath>\
    </GetItemType>\
    </soap:Body>\
    </soap:Envelope>';
    $.ajax({
    type: "POST",
    contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
    url: http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx?wsdl,
    data: soapMessage,
    dataType: "xml",
    success: processSuccess,
    error: processError
    function processSuccess(data, status, req) {
    if (status == "success")
    $("#response").text($(req.responseXML).find("Type").text());
    function processError(data, status, req) {
    alert(req.responseText + " " + status);
    Here I got an "Undefined error"
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

  • How to use generated code from "Import Web Services" with Cairngorm Framework

    I recently downloaded Flex Builder 3 beta 2 and tried out the
    wizard that lets you import web services. The code that is
    auto-generated makes if fairly straight forward to consume web
    services using the object types defined in the WSDL. No longer does
    the developer need to decode the XML payload! The only problem I am
    having is how does you integrate the auto- generated code with the
    Cairngorm framework? This seems like a huge question for anyone who
    might want to leverage Cairngorm and the auto-generated proxy code
    in the same project (like me).
    Here are the problems that I see so far.
    1) How do you configure the generated service class to work
    with the Cairngorm service locator? The service constructor only
    accepts a “LCDS destination string” which implies that
    you must use Lifecycle data services. Unfortunately, the project I
    am trying to retrofit currently uses a WebService and does not use
    data services. All I really need to do is change the endpoint URL
    (ie from local to a development server). This issue is noted in the
    bug https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-8456. What I think is
    needed is a way to set the endpointURI in the Services.mxml file.
    2) Even if I come up with a hack around #1, I do not receive
    a callback to my IResponder even though I register it immediately
    after the method call. I can register and listener function within
    my business delegate and receive the callback, but my Command
    object, which implements IResponder, does not receive the call back
    even though it is registered. From what I read in the ASDocs it
    should but it doesn’t for me!
    These are the issues I have observed in 3 hours of messing
    with this. I hope this makes sense. I would love to integrate
    auto-generated web service proxies into Cairngorm but I don’t
    see a straight forward way without re-architecting Cairngorm. Has
    any one else run across this issue? If so, do you have any insights
    on how to proceed? Any help is appreciated.

    Since I posted this question, I have abandoned the notion of
    auto-generated web services and embraced the good old FDS concept
    where the RemoteObject meta-tag does all the conversion work for
    me. We are now using the Granite DS package and it is working well
    for us. I would love to consume web services, but it just isn't
    worth the hassle when all you have to do with Granite (and FDS) is
    cast your return objects to the proper object type.
    BTW, since this posting, I have investigated competing Flex
    app frameworks. After my research, I checked out the PureMVC
    framework. Wow!! Cairngorm always left me with an uneasy feeling
    and I guess I am not alone. Apparently, Cliff Hall felt the same
    way. That is why he started the project. I like his approach alot
    more than Cairngorm especially since it includes notifications
    which allow me to broadcast my own app level events independent
    from the AS Event framework. Check out PureMVC. For what it is
    worth, it has my humble endorsement. Cliff was even gracious enough
    to acknowledge the other Adobe Consulting guys for their work. Good
    for you Cliff, I respect that. Check out a better way at

  • Calling web service with basic authentication from EP "unauthorized"

    Hello,
    I need to call a .NET web service with basic authentication on the IIS from my portal application (no http proxy between portal and IIS). But always I get the following exception:
    <b>com.sap.engine. services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor. NestedSOAPException:
    Problem in server response: [Unauthorized].</b>
    I'm using the following code for calling the .NET web service:
    <b>...</b><i>Licence_GetList lParameter = new Licence_GetList();
    lParameter.setStatus(CEnvironment.TransformStatus_WebService(search));
    ILicenceManager lLicMan = (ILicenceManager) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("LicenceManager");
    ILicenceManager lLicManSecure = lLicMan.getSecurisedServiceConnection(request.getUser());
    Licence_GetListResponse lGetListResponse = lLicManSecure.Licence_GetList(lParameter);</i><b>...</b>
    I've also configured a http system in the portal system landscape using the following parameters:
    <i>Authentication Method : Basic Authentication
    Authentication Type : Server
    User Mapping Type : admin,user</i>
    The user mapping is also personalized for this system!
    What's wrong? Please help! This is really urgent!
    Kind Regards
    Joerg Loechner

    Hello Renjith,
    here is a small cutout of my "portapp.xml";
    <services>
      <service alias="LicenceManager" name="LicenceManager">
        <service-config>
          <property name="className" value="de.camelotidpro.
                 pct.xi.scm.webservice.LicenceManager"/>
          <property name="startup" value="false"/>
          <property name="WebEnable" value="false"/>
          <property name="WebProxy" value="true"/>
          <property name="SecurityZone" value="de.camelotidpro.
                 pct.xi.scm.webservice.LicenceManager/
                   DefaultSecurity"/>
        </service-config>
        <service-profile>
          <property name="SystemAlias" value="LicMan_NET"/
        </service-profile>
      </service>
    </services>
    I'm using a http system created in the system landscape (alias LicMan_NET). But it seems that this system is not used by the web service call (No error, even if I delete this system!). The code used to call this web service can be found at the top of this threat...

  • Web service with complex java type

    Hi,
    I create a web service method with String o with Array of Strings without problem. Now I nedd to create a ws that return a table, so I create a class like this:
    public class User {
         private String Name;
         private String.Surname;
         public void setName(String setName){
              Name= setName;
         public void setSurname(String setSurname){
              Surname=setSurname;
    In my ws class I use this object:
    public User[] getUser(String a){
              User[] user = new User[10];
              for (int i=0;i<10;i++){
                   User<i>.setName("aaa");
                   User<i>.setSurname("bbb");
              return user;
    When in WebService Perspective I try to create my ws in wizard mode I see method getUser but I can't check it
    Where is error?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    HI Andrea,
        I think with present netweaver developer studio , we can create Web services with end points as simple data types in java and the array of that simple data types.
        not sure whether it support our own custom developed classes as end points.
         just go through these links.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f7/af60f2e04d0848888675a800623a81/frameset.htm

    from this we will get Restrictions for WS Endpoints.

  • XDB Native Web Services - Collection of object types

    Hello,
    my DB 11g (11.1.0.6.0) is enabled to use XDB Native Web Services, everything works as it should. I already use it successfully to publish a web service with object types as OUT parameter. They are created as complex types in the XML response as described here: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/xdb_web_services.htm#CHDGBFID]
    But what I need is a collection of these object types, e.g.
    I have a type FLIGHT with some information elements (departure, arrival, date, time, price) and I have a web service function GET_AVAILABILITY with parameters departure, arrival and date. What I want is to return a collection of FLIGHT objects, it could be none, one or many flights for a request.
    For the moment I create another object type which contains a fix number of FLIGHT objects to work around the collection issue:
    create flight_tab_typ as object (
    fl1 flight_typ
    ,fl2 flight_typ
    ,fl3 flight_typ
    I tried to build a PL/SQL table of object type and also a VARRAY of object type but for both the WSDL of the web service cannot be build up correctly in the web browser. For me it seems that this is not supported by the Native Web Services.
    I know I can build up my own XMLTYPE with XML structure as OUT parameter but to use object types is much easier and it builds up the XML structure automatically.
    Does anybody know how to use collections (VARRAY or PL/SQL Tables) with the Native XML DB Web Services?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Hi flea,
    I use complex types with XDB native webservices. Here is an example. Using people/groups objects. I haven't compiled this so there may be some typos etc, but it should give you the idea.
    Beware!I have had problems with the created WSDL file in that it doesn't always include the namespace from all types. In many client packages ( JDevloper , SOAPUI etc) this causes a wsdl import failure.
    You can add the missing namespace by hand a load the WSDL file locally and then it should work. I haven't raised an SR with Oracle about this yet.
    Assume you create the following under SCoTT schema on machine host.com on port 8080.
    The webservice[WSDL] will be available from
    http://host.com:8080/orawsv/SCOTT/WEBSERVCIES/GET_GROUP[?wsdl]
    For other peoples sanity it took me a little while to realise the WSDL url is case specific. E.g. the schema, package and functions have to be UPPER case.
    create table people_groups_tab (group_name varchar2(40 char),first_name varchar2(40 char),last_name varchar2(40 char))
    insert into people_groups_tab values ('FINANCE','Joe','Bloggs')
    insert into people_groups_tab values ('FINANCE','Bob','Jones')
    insert into people_groups_tab values ('IT','Alan','Andrews')
    create or replace type person_obj
    as object
         first_name people_groups_tab.first_name%type
         ,last_name people_groups_tab.last_name%type
    create or replace type people_obj
    as table of person_obj
    create or replace type people_groups_obj
    as object
    group_name varchar2(40 char)
    people people_obj
    create or replace package webservices
    as
              function get_group
         p_group_name varchar2
              ) return people_groups_obj;
    end;
    create or replace package body webservices
    as
              function get_group
         p_group_name varchar2
              ) return people_groups_obj
    as
    l_group people_groups_obj;
              l_people people_obj;
    begin
              select person_obj
                        first_name
                        ,last_name
              bulk collect into l_people
              from people_groups_tab
              where group_name p_group_name;
              l_group := people_groups_obj(p_group_name,l_people);
              return l_group;
    end;
    end;
