Web Viewable Link

Hi Everyone
When I am sending the web viewable link to one of my users when he clicks on the link it asks for user credentials
i.e. username and password
Can you please tell me how to checkin a document such that when i send the webviewable link to the user he can
see it without needing any credentials

If you have accounts then add DefaultAccounts=#none(R),#all(R): This will make all contents checked in under accounts to be read only.
If your acccount name is publicaccount then DefaultAccounts=publicaccount(R)

Regarding Web Location link

Hi,
when checking content in from IPM, there is a Web Location link displayed in the content information page of UCM.
In my case, the Web Location link is https://localhost:16001/imaging/faces/Pages/UrlTools.jspx?ToolName=AWVWR&DocumentId=2.IPM_000005
and there is no native link displayed in the content info page.
Any one has an idea on how the Web Location Url is computed for IPM files and how to control the display of URL(instead of https if i need http)? How to enable the Native Link for IPM files also?

The link calls the Image Viewer, which enables context-full annotations to unmodifiable images. This is the preferred way how images should be displayed. I think the viewer contains an option to display no annotations, if needed.
With no SSL Imaging runs at the port 16000. I'd expect that SSL/no SSL selection is made sometimes during the installation and should be configurable at later times.
I'm not sure if anything like a web-viewable format is created for images. If so, or if you need the native file, you should be able to obtain them if you know dDocName (ContentID) or dID. For web-viewable, check how URL is constructed for non-imaging files - it'll be something like http://localhost:16200/.... and for native files you might have to use the GET_FILE service.
However, to access you images I'd strongly recommend to use Imaging's URI (http://localhost:16000/... or https://localhost:16001/...)

Publish a web-viewable password-protected calendar?

Is there any way to publish a web-viewable password-protected calendar?
There is info here about publishing to your iDisk w/ password protection:

But I need something that doesn't require iCal to access! For instance something that I could access via a web browser on a public computer, and would have to input a password to access.
Is this possible, or is this a missing functionality?

Hi UniAce, apparently in one of the recent versions of iCal you can now publish your ICS file (from iCal 'publish' command) onto a private server that is not WebDav... which was the requirement in the past.

Here is a link to a program called PHP iCalendar that basically uses your ICS file that you've 'published' via iCal and makes it into a viewable HTML calendar.
My problem with it
I don't have .Mac and haven't tried it with that, but even though the program works great after a bit of installation (you should be comfortable with HTML editing to use PHP iCalendar, but not necessarily PHP) I could not get iCal to export my ICS file properly – it appeasr to upload properly in iCal, but then the file is 0 bytes on the server which is, in turn, making PHP iCalendar have a problem viewing it.
How I got around it
I ended up finding the 'resource' file that had my calendar and setup an automator action that locates that file, copies it to a location on my hard drive, renames it then 'opens' it with a Transmit droplet, which uploads it where I want it.

I can right click to copy a web page link, but it will not let me rick click again to paste the link to the body of text

I use firefox as my web browser. My start page is www.msn.com where I can access hotmail. Once I have logged into hotmail and click on (Create) new mail I have this problem. If I go to a web page link, ie; www.msn.com, I can highlite the address and then right click to copy. When I go to the body of the email I'm working with, and right click again to paste I DO NOT GET A SCREEN THAT HAS PASTE ON IT. I tried this again by logging into Internet Explorer signed into my hot mail account and tried it again. It works in IE with hotmail. Firefox crashes when trying to send a web page link.

The questions says it all. I've tried three times to send a web page link and each time I got a Microsoft error message and Firefox closed.

I filed a bug for this crash as it has been reported on Mac machines and all of the comments are either printing a webpage or printing a print button.
If I may ask are you using File > Print or is there also a print icon?
Another question for investigation is do you have print_printer?
In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

Bypass login screen while accessing web viewable URL of secure content

As a Anonymous user, when i click any secure content web viewable URL, UCM is
prompting for credentails. Please help me How can we avoid login for anonymous
while accessing web URL's.
This is for UCM 10gr3 with Apache http server

In a Java filter (AlterUserCredentials), we are giving UCM_LOCAL_ROLE (UCM role) to the anonymous user based on cookie value. LOCAL_ROLE has read access to LOCAL security group content. If a user is accessing URL with in corporate network, cookie value is Local else cookie value is external. This is working perfect for GET_SEARCH_RESULTS and DOC_INFO.
Whereas when we access LOCAL security group content web viewable URL’s as anonymous user, UCM is prompting for credentials (log in screen). Before reaching the filter code, UCM is prompting for credentials.
Please let us know, how to bypass this login screen for secure content web url access as a anonymous user.

Is there a way to customize the web form link in Adobe FormsCentral?

The dedicated link has a quite complicated address, not easily added to brochures to hand out. Is there a way to customize the web form link in Adobe FormsCentral?

It cannot be customized. The workaround is to create your own web page and embed our form into it. That way they only see your URL.

Where to get Informat about Web Location link filed displayed

HI,
We have installed the server on 7780 port long before. We have changed that port number to 80 and application link also has been redirected in apache using Virtual Host concept.
Now Web Location link which is displayed in Content Info page is pointing to our old port number and old link. How I can configure that link to display the redirected url and new port number.
Please let me know where to Configure that Web Location URL path in Content Information page of every asset in server.

You need to update the HttpServerAddress in config.cfg - just remove the :7780 and it should work to port 80 or alternatively change the port to whatever new number you are using.
e.g. to point to port 8000 change
HttpServerAddress=myhost:7780
to
HttpServerAddress=myhost:8000

I have created a "Scope Resource Filter"
Knowledge Management --> Content-Management --> Global Services --> Resource Filters --> Scope Resource Filter
"URL (Content Link) Mode (Documents/Web-Pages Only): *" <<exclude>>
I have created a new crawler which uses this filter and re-indexed my content, but without success.
I guess this is the right way, but It seems that I have forgot something...
I would appreciate any help

It looks like the problem with SLD. Check whether SLD is running or not. If it is not running, start the SLD by logging to http://<hostname>:5<instance no>00/sld
Also, check in visual admin, By selecting service SLD Data Supplier and check whether SLD data transfer is happening successfully or not. If not, then check whether user used for data transfer should not be locked.

Non web-safe link colors possible?

The non web-safe link colors I'm trying to use on my website
won't show up in any browser, although the same colors work in
other text on the site. I'm using CSS to create pages, and
everything else works well. The links show up as they would if they
were left undefined (red, blue and purple depending on their
current state). Any ideas?
BTW, I'm a designer who is learning code the hard way...when
problems crop up!
