Web visitors' IP Address printed on page?

Is it possible to get the IP address AND print it right on the page? I want to show some folks who like entering crap in our company's guestbook that we really ARE logging IP addresses (we are, too), just to scare some of them away hopefully.
I'm really just looking at a line on the "add to our guestbook" page that reads "Your IP address is : " - then the address. I would prefer that I could do it without having a cgi script involved or multiple web pages (one that finds the address & prints it on the "addguest" page).
I've added the scripts offered on the "IP" thread to a test page and uploaded it to my server but I get no printout. I also made the page an .shtml in case I needed server side help.
Any help is appreciated.

Well if its JSP based you can use ;-
request.getRemoteAddr()

  • Print blank pages befor content starts

    Hi,
While printing html through content editor web part. It prints blank pages before content starts.
I have images in my html document.
When I set the width of img to 400 px it works fine..
but if I say width:100% it prints so many blank pages extra before content starts.
    Anybody has any idea?
    Please share
    Thanks

    Hi,
In HTML 4.01, the width could be defined in pixels or in % of the containing element. In HTML5, the value must be in pixels. Please check whether the image in a html5 page.

  • HP Network Printer periodically prints a page from a web crawler

I support a HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn which ocassionally prints a page that says:
    GET http://www.baidu.com/ HTTP/1.1
    Host: www.baidu.com
    Accept: */*
    Pragma: no-cache
    User-Agent:
Sometimes the GET HTTP/1.1 statement is from  http://www.sciencedirect.com.
I'm guessing that this is caused by some sort of web crawler that hits port 9100 at this printer's network address. Is there any setting on the HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn that I might make to stop these pages from printing?
[ I know that blocking this port at a router may solve the issue, but I'm looking for a solution that fixes the issue at the printer, thank you. ]
    Thanks for your help!

    Waynely,
    Simple Explanation:
Internet users, likely Chinese, scan addresses (computers, or other devices that are networked) on the Internet that accept certain connections. They do this to probe for vulnerabilities to exploit, or to route traffic through machines as a “proxy.” Being a proxy means loading and sending information at the request of another. This can be used to bypass local security, such as China’s severe Internet censorship. It can also be used to hide traces back to the source, such as when a criminal doesn’t want to be located when hacking.
The printers are set up such that they can communicate outside the local network. This allows printing from other networks, but can be located by Internet users doing scans. Printers appear to these scans as a possible proxy. The printed pages are the commands sent as a test of possible proxies for use. The command means “tell this device to load this website and report back.” The printer interprets the request as a print job and prints out the given command.
This needs a fix, but is not critical. There is risk to lost supplies. The pages are also a nuisance. There is a smaller risk of a printer vulnerability being exploited for more serious use. This would be a complex and targeted attack instead of a broad scan.
    Possible Solutions:
    1) Block this traffic with a firewall
    2) Block this traffic with printer access controls
    3) Update the firmware on the printer to block this
    4) Change the network configuration to not be accessible from the Internet.

  • When I try and print a web page in the print screen ALL the Print Frame options are greyed out. It won't let me print a page as I see it. I need to pring a page as is. How do I do it in the new 8.0??

I go to print and try to select the radio button to print all frames, but It's not working

The '''Print Frames''' options are greyed out unless the web page is made with Frames. I-Frames don't work the same.
Check out this '''''frames test page''''' - http://www.draac.com/framestest.html <br />Is the '''Print Frames''' part of the print dialog box active?
As far as printing a page as you see it, many web pages use '''print.css''' files for print-media. The print.css specifies exactly what is to be sent to the printer and it can control the formatting of the printed page.

  • Is there a way to print a page of the same address.

Using address book to print addresses, I would like to be able to print several of the same address on one page of labels. Is this posible? If not is there athird party app. that I could use?

You can do that with a dynamic XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer, which comes with Acrobat Pro for Windows. For more information, you can ask over at the LiveCycle Designer forum.

I downloaded OpenOffice and am able to print documents (in particular, the same document I created in MS Word). I guess MS Word is to blame. I believe the issue is concluded, but I'd welcome any comments about the Active Directory, as I might have a problem
with OpenOffice in the future regarding that.

  • How do I print a page of return labels in Address Book?

How do I print a page of return labels in Address Book?

Okay, it's a bit of hack, but standby..
Setup your address (that you want printed) in contacts app
    Copy that address
Paste 30 times (or however many labels you have per page)
Select those 30 duplicate entries, and go to print
Viola! (When you are done you can delete the excess entries)

  • Printing #10 Envelope - Return Address "off the page" & Address Very High

    I'm having trouble printing a #10 envelope.
I have an Okidata B410d printer that Pages seems to subtitle a "Generic PCL Laser Printer."
I went -- File / Open From Template Chooser / Word Processing / Envelopes / Classic Envelope
I fill in the fields and the page attributes shows my printer, #10 Envelope and a landscape orientation.
But when I feed through the bypass tray -- following the little icons telling me face down, flap left, ... -- the result prints the address two lines from the top of the paper and no sign of the return address field (if it existed it would be an inch off the paper to the top if you follow.
So I figure there might be some way to change the setup / margins / headers / ...
I managed to get something sorta acceptable by changing the default header from 0.95 cm to 4.2 cm -- it wouldn't let me go any more. The result had the return field hugging the top of the paper and the main address starting maybe 1 1/2" from the top. the envelope looks funny by I had to get something in the mail today.
Now I'd like to make this right.
    Any advice?
    Thanks

Who knows what I've done but after much trial and error (and more than a few of those pages cut to match a #10 envelope I seem to have something I can work with.
I guess, as you said, there is some funny business between my printer and Pages.
I'll detail the steps as much so I can retrieve if necessary. What I did:
    * Found a template that used a floating text box for the return rather than a header.
    * Changed the page size from the #10 default of 24.13 cm wide x 10.48 cm high to 24.13 cm wide x 24.0 cm high to "fool" it to working.
    * Left side margins unchanged
    * Set top margin to 11.5 cm and bottom to 0.0 cm
    * Dragged the return address floating text box so it is centred top to bottom on the envelope (a look I like)
    * Finished output has return address flush left, centred top to bottom and the address filed aligned with top line of address and return address fileds the same.
    * Saved as a template in my templates.
    * Tested that I could retrieve the template, type in info and print okay.
Like I said ... it ain't elegant but now I can print out a proper looking #10 through the bypass feed of my Oki printer.
    Thanks for your help.

  • When printing from firefox, the page address prints in an illegible font. Same font also appears in certain field windows in the browser.

Why would the fonts in the page address print in an illegible font? It's a black background bar with a white jumbled cartoon-style font. The same font is present in certain field windows when filling out forms. I checked the fonts in preferences and it all seems to be correct and normal. Could this be a Mac issue?

There is a known bug involving printing in beta 12 that has been fixed in the Firefox 4 release candidate which is due out soon.

  • Can print test pages from embedded web server., put not from windows

    Hello,
I have a P1102w that worked perfectly through the last 5 month.
Two days ago it stopped printing anything for some reason. What happen is, when I print something, it spools, but then I get Error-Printing under the status when I double click the printer icon in the "devices and printers" manager of windows 7.
Right now I can see the printer in Ad Hoc. I can load the embedded web server,. And I can print test pages from the embedded web server.
However, if I tried to print test pages using the printer icon in "devices and printers" manager".. it doesnt print!
If I go to Devices and Printers -> Properties -> Advanced -> "Print directly to printer" -> Apply
I got an error box: "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)."
The printer works fine when connected to other laptops (with exactly the same driver/setting)..
This problem is driving me crazy !
Thank you in advance for your help

    Hi m-rasheed,
An ad-hoc connections is much more unstable than an infrustructure network using a router. At this point i would suggest getting a wireless router, and then connect the printer to your network through the router.

When I want to print a page from the web, Firefox prints only 2-3 inches on left side of page.
    I can print e-mail OK.

Also, check the margin setting in File > Page Setup. An excessively large right margin setting can cause something like that.

I would try asking the users in the Pages forum.  Good luck.

  • Cc530a black cartridge with 3500 yield only printed 2614 pp, 2200 of which were address-only pages

The first 414 pages we printed on this cartridge were what I would call average text-filled pages.  The next 2200 were addresses printed on an area about 2 square inches, one to a page (we were filling in address info on pre-printed forms).  I would think that with such a minute per-page usage that the overall yield would have been much, much higher, at the very least the advertised 3500.  I'm feeling rather jipped and frustrated.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Looks like I am a full year late in posting, but I hope this is still helpful.
First, I will ask maybe a dumb question: are you sure you are using an Aftermarket cartridge or an introductory cartridge that came with the printer?  Although the aftermarket yields is 3500 ISO pages, the introductory yields 1200 ISO pages.
In either case, a key point to consider is that color cartridges can reach the 'repalce' state for a number of reasons.  The obvious one is the toner is used up.  However there are other parts of the cartridge that will wear out, and so the printer will stop the cartridge when it thinks that those parts are worn.  This is discussed in depth at the following URL:
    http://www.hp.com/pageyield/en-019/articles/howTonerIsUsed.html?cCode=us
Because your coverage sounds like it is very low, I assume that your replace message was given because of wear of the other cartridge parts.  Mechanisms that will accelerate that are printing small job sizes.  The longer the job size, the less the wear per page that the cartridge will experience.
Another suggestion: you can always put the printer in override through the control panel:  System Setup --> Print Quality --> Stop at OUT -->  Set to Override at Out.
In doing this, realize that your print quality will eventually deteriorate and there will be no notice given by the printer that this will occur.  Also realize that the cartridge warranty is void at this point.
    Hope that helps.
Although I am an HP employee, the advice/suggestions given above are my own.
