Webcenter dicussion forum - Ldap Group Integration with JSSO

Hi,
We want to implement LDAP Group integration for the authorization purposes in
webcenter Jive Disucussions deployed in our IAS 10.1.3.2 application server.
Though jive provides support for the same, yet the JIve documentation says
that we need to implement the JIve's LDAP User authentication steps in order
to leverage LDAP Groups integration. In case of Webcenter if we use Java SSO
for the authentication purpose, we need opt for the 'Default' in the Jive
Admin's authentication page instead of LDAP settings. Opting for 'Default'
scheme doesn't allow us to configure the LDAP group settings. We are not able
find any documentation for LDAP Group Integration along with Java SSO. Could
provide us the steps required for the same? Or has anyone tried the same?
Thanks and Regards,
ABhijit

Hi Abhijit,
You can ignore 'Default', and implement your own user authentication mechanism, which can include LDAP group settings. You will have to follow:
- OC4J security documentation for using Java SSO in your own implementation (I think this is the right link - confirm the version numbers - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28957/javasso.htm#BABEJFDI)
- Jive documentation for implementing user authentication

    Hi All,
I am trying to implement LDAP Group integration in our jive forums 5.1.0 installed in an Oracle IAS 10.1.3.2 server.
I have followed the steps mentioned in the LDAP documentation and setup the following system properties:
    ldap.groupNameField cn
    ldap.groupMemberField uniquemember
    ldap.groupDescriptionField description
    ldap.groupSearchFilter (cn={0})
I just restarted the server after setting up these , but the forums instance is not coming up in the server. Throwing the following error:

    Hi Guneet,
We are using jive 5.5.9 instead of 5.1.0 that comes with webcenter.
Also we are just trying to validate the JIve's authorization scheme so didn't integrate the Java SSO part. Jive forum is just a standalone OC4J instance in the IAS server and we are using the LDAP configuration in the User,Groups Authentication page instead or default which is required for Java SSO.
    Thanks,

  • Siebel new LDAP adapter integration with BI Publisher

    Hi All!!
We have configured our Siebel (8.1.1.3) security adapter with LDAP. BI Publisher is using Siebel security model.
We had to clone our AOM (fins_esn which is using the security adapter LDAP) to finsxx_esn because we are migrating the AD 2000 to 2008 (we are also changing the domain). The roll out will last 2 month, users will be migrated by branch, it wont be a big bang.
We have to generate a new LDAP security adapter to authenticate users who are logging to finsxx_esn to the AD 2008 (AD 2008 is on a diferent domain than AD 2000. This is working for application autehtication, no problems found here)
On a standalone environment report generation is working. But for a distributed environment (1 AOM, 1 NAOM, 1 Web Server) is not working.
Does anyone knows how to integrate to BI Publisher when you have two LDAP security adapters on Siebel Application? Or is there any authentication method to use instead of "Siebel Security" so as to achieve this?
    Regards

We actually ran into a similar problem where I work. I created a support web ticket for our issue and the response is that BIP 11G is not supported for integration with Siebel 8.1, or any other version for that matter. Oracle is currently working on a fix to integrated the latest version of Siebel with BIP.
There advice to me was to downgrade to BIP 10G for the time being.

  • LDAP (OID) integration with java appilcation

    OID issue Urgent
Currently we are using the OID-LDAP as the repository for storing username, passwds
and other attributes. All applications that need authentication will essentially
    be using the OID.
In our effort to do the same we are encountering the following problems
    - Creation of an identity corresponding the application
    - Giving this identity certain LDAP authorizations (Which authorizations are these)
We have been successful creating LDAP entries for users and getting the initial
JNDI contexts to do the lookups.
When we are creating the user lookup from java code using oracle.ldap.util.User pakage ,
at the run time it's throwing error(no classfound oracle/net/config/ConfigException ).
why and where this is needed and how to resolve that. is that because we haven't added
the application in oid and configured authorizations for it.
Need an urgent answer to this since all applications will be using LDAP(OID).
here is code of java which tries to connect to OID.

  • RSA authentication with LDAP group mapping

    Greetings,
I'm trying to set up RSA authentication with LDAP group mapping with ACS Release 4.2(1) Build 15 Patch 3.
The problem I'm having is that my users are in multiple OU's on our AD tree.  When I only put our base DN in for User Directory Subtree on ACS, it fails with a "External DB reports about an error condition" error.  If I add an OU in front of it, then it will work fine.
As far as I know, you can only use one LDAP configuration with RSA.
    Any thoughts on this?

    @Tarik
I believe your suggestion is the only way i'm going to get this to work. I ran across a similar method just this week that I have been working on.
I was hoping for dynamic mapping with the original method, but I haven't found any way to make it happen.  I have resorted to creating a Radius profile on the RSA appliance for each access group I need.  Using the Class attribute, I then pass the desired Group name to the ACS, i.e. OU=Admins, and that seems to work.
Thankfully, I have a small group of users that I am attempting to map.  I will only map those who need elevated priviliges to narrow down how many profiles I will have to manually create.  Likewise, our Account Admin will have to determine who gets assigned a particular access group.
I would still prefer to do this dynamically.

  • LDAP Group Lookup Policy

I would like to know if it is possible to set up a Inbound filter that will stop media files from being delivered unless the receipant is a member of a LDAP group.
I don't want media files (mpeg, avi, Divx, PPS, MOV) being delivered to everyone but the members of a Distribution group called Media_Access.
Does this need to be a distribution group or an mail enabled security group.
    We are using Active Directory.
    Thanks

Though you could accomplish this with message filters, my vote would be for using ldap group query with the incoming mail policy. You can have the Media-policy that checks if the recipients are a member of the Media group. If recipients aren't members of the group, they will use the Default policy. This is called message splintering by the way.
Then, once things have splintered into their appropriate incoming mail policies, you can have incoming content filters that drop the media attachments for the default policy while the Media policy allows them through.
Have you tried to create a policy allowing these file types and checking the recipients using LDAP group query ?
Then, insert a policy below this (the mentioned above) not allowing these file type for non-group members.

  • Can an email address be a member of an LDAP group even if it isn't associated with an object in the Directory Server?

Can an email address be a member of an LDAP group even if it isn't
associated with an object in the Directory Server?
    <P>
General members of a group are the members defined in the
Directory Server. They are full-fledged members of the group who
may have a set of permissions associated with their membership,
a title, or other attributes. Mail-specific users are users who
are not full-fledged members of the group, but who receive mail
sent to the group. Mail-specific users need not be identified as
a user in the Directory Server--an email address is sufficient.
An example of this is a group of salespeople, all of whom are in
the group "North American Sales Team." They have access to a
sales-tracking database, on-line quota information, and
competitive information. The mail-specific users of this group
are the admins who support the members of the sales team, who need
to get the mail that goes out to the group, but don't need access
to the applications and information that the salespeople do.

    Hey EllyK,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest performing this workaround and then try to login to BlackBerry Link:
Open BlackBerry World on the BlackBerry smartphone and sign in using the BlackBerry ID.
Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer.
    Open BlackBerry Link
Sign in using the BlackBerry ID.
Let me know if the issue still persists.

  • Wireless Deployment with Active Directory User Group Integration

I am trying to find out the best practice in deploying a WLAN for users in the cooperate environment, which uses their company active directory integrated laptops to join to the WLAN.
I know this can be done using certificates easily but I want to just find a way to deploy this without certificates and only based on the AD user group. Maybe a Radius server + LDAP server integration solution would be great.
    Please advice. Thanks.

The easiest way to deply this is with a Microsoft toolkit, it has everything you need included, manuals, scripts to install and configure server-side components and it's very easy to use. You can get it from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=60c5d0a1-9820-480e-aa38-63485eca8b9b&displaylang=en
It's based on Win2003 server but I've been advised by MS that it should be OK on Win2008 as well.

  • Tighter Integration with Active Directory User Groups

    I just wrapped up a Jabber deployment with IM&P 9.1(1) and J4W clients 9.1(3).
The customer asked me if it is on Cisco's roadmap to allow groups in Active Directory to be pulled into the Jabber client.  The primary business case is to allow those in IT to send out IM blasts to the corporation or certain departments.
Obviously, this would require a significant amount of development and a much tighter integration with Active Directory, but I need to ask anyway.
Has something like this been identified and placed on any roadmap?
    Thanks,

Unfortunately this kind of questions cannot be addressed here, roadmap questions need to go thru official channels for an answer.
You need to reach your SE/AM for this question.

  • Problem about BIEE Integration with LDAP

    Hello,
    I have a problem in OBIEE11.1.1.6
I do BI EE 11g Security Integration with OPENLDAP follow below link,
    http://www.rittmanmead.com/2010/11/oracle-bi-ee-11g-security-integration-with-microsoft-active-directory/
It works well using user that store in OPENLDAP ,
now I want to realize this function,
that user roles store in external db table, then get roles by init block,
but I faced a problem, If I use session system variable 'WEBGROUPS' to get some value in db,when user login BIEE,it can get values of 'WEBGROUPS'
but If I use session system variable 'ROLES' ,when user login BIEE,it can't get values of 'ROLES' that store in db,
the value will always show 'BIConsume;Authenticated User',It is default value in OBIEE11.1.1.6,
so I doubt way I can't user variable 'ROLES' to get value???
    init block lik follow,
    SQL: select T.att1,T.att2 FROM USER_ACCESS T
    T.att1 is for variable 'WEBGROUPS'
    T.att2 is for variable 'ROLES'
the value of 'WEBGROUPS' is correct.
but 'ROLES' not got the values that stored in db.
    anyone know???
    thank you in advance!

  • Forte integration with LDAP

    Hi.
Has anyone successfully integrated with LDAP using the C library from
    LDAP SDK?
Currently I'm facing a problem when I tried to generate the C++ wrapper
for the C library. The compiler is unable to resolved the data type of
some data structs. This is because the definition for these structs are
not defined in any of the include files provided. According to the LDAP
SDK doc, this is because the fields for those data structs are not
intended to be accessible to the clients.
That is why in my wrapper project, I defined these struct, each has the
    property Opaque = TRUE.

    Hi Anoop,
To adapt an SAP Workflow, you can create a configuration. In this configuration you can redefine values for steps of the workflow definition. These values are evaluated at runtime instead of the values originally defined.
You can configure the following step types:
    Activity
    User decision
    Document from template
    Wait
    Moreover,Features
You can set the following data individually in the step definition of the configurable step types:
    1)Responsible agents
    2)Excluded agents
    3)Message recipient for completion
    4)Priority
    5)Requested start
6)Indicator denoting whether the step is included in the    workflow log
7)Activation of a latest end, a latest start, or a requested end with the reaction Send mail

  • Webcenter JiveForums Integration with OID

Anybody had luck in Integrating Webcenter & JiveForums using LDAP/OID rather than JavaSSO specified by the document
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12483_01/webcenter.1013/b31074/jpsdg_jive.htm.
The document clearly says the LDAP configuration during Jive Admin setup is not supported. if I have to choose the default option, as stated by the document, for user authentication, how do i go about configuring LDAP/OID.
Appreciate if anybody could give steps to follow to achieve this.
    Thanks

Do you have same more logs? Maybe in AdminServer?
    When you get
ADF_FACES-60098:Faces lifecycle receives unhandled exceptions in phase RENDER_RESPONSE 6
    javax.el.ELException: java.lang.NullPointerException
Usually is a error that you isn't catched in some class and you get error in your jspx page.

  • Domino Lotus Mail Integration With Webcenter Spaces

    Hello,
I am looking for solution for Domino Lotus Mail Integration with Webcenter Spaces, can you please let me know any one having any technical idea how to integrate with webcenter spaces.
    Please provide the solution.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

For registering a mail server to WebCenter Spaces, see this link: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_mail.htm#WCADM238
If you want to do more advanced stuff like synchronizing calendar events in Spaces with events registered at Domino Server, I'm not sure whether it is possible out-of-the-box. There is an API for synchronization with MS Exchange (based on web services), so provided that Domino Server has a similar interface you could try the same approach.
If you want to run WebCenter apps/portlets in Lotus front-end environment, I'm almost sure it is impossible.

  • Select list populated with ldap group membership attributes

Is it possible to query an LDAP group and retrieve all the members of the group?
For example, if I have an LDAP group with members' login name, I want to retrieve all login names and populate a select list so the end-user can choose a login name from the group.
    Thanks, alan.

The problem is the second query. I would guess that the TO_CHAR(co) is not unique for each account, but is the same for the accounts. And as the second item in the select-list is the listitems values, all your listitem-entries have the same value. therefore, of you select any entry, the list will always go the the first entry again.
    Adjust your query.
