WebDB Failed !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, all! I installed webdb, but when I try to do
http://www.mydomain.com:port then it prompt me for a username and
password. I put in username: webdb password: webdb (default) and
then it gave me a message saying "Database login failed" Any
ideas please???
NOTE: I didn't start the webdb listener yet, same as tnsnames.
Is it neccessary? I don't know! I had listener started for
ORACLE 8i.

I think you meet the same problem that I had fix.PLS set connect
string in http://yourhost:yourport/webdb/admin_/gateway.htm,This
step must be done!!I think this version Webdb use SQL*NET to
connect DB.

  • Upgrade WebDB 2.2 to Portal Fails with Invalid Sys password

I am upgrading from WebDB 2.2.0.0.5 all the way to the latest 3.0.9xx. My database is 8172. I am at the point where you run the 306 upgrade script. It makes it through renaming all the webdb objects to UPG_<OLD_NAME> but then fails with an invalid sys password error when starting winstall. The sys password is not invalid and the script even tests that it is valid before even starting. So, I am not sure what the problem is. I have tried this about a dozen times different ways and still the same error:

We spend almost 6 months (on and off) to get a successful migration from webdb. After countless discussions with Oracle, because we though we where doing something wrong, Oracle advised us that forms do not migrate "well" and any migrated forms do not display as portals. We are not upgrading 300 components by hand. I do not know if this affects you like it did us but I thought you would like to know.

I have sucessfully loaded webdb on linux mandrake 6.0 running

and oracle_home directories. The installer created a webdb
directory under the product directory. You should also create
your temp and user tablespaces before installing webdb. Webdb
will create its own but you will have no control over placement

sorry about this, but I have checked on both of my two standalone servers(Running similar softwares and settings(host name...etc) independently) I can't see any service registerd by APACHE LISTENER.The only listener service available is for ORACLE8i under the oracle8iHome.
The only running service under the 9iASHome is HTTPServer.During both installations I didn't encounter any problems, everything ended succefully. Can you p'se let me know if this sounds Ok to you?

This looks like a tnsnames.ora issue. I copied a reply from a similar post:
Since you have multiple Oracle homes, you are probably looking at the wrong tnsnames.ora. The reason why SQL*Plus is working is because it is being picked up from an Oracle Home where the correct tnsnames.ora resides. Here is a quick way to confirm this
    - Stop the Apache Listener service
    - Open a "Console prompt window"
    - Go to $IAS_HOME/Apache/Apache
    - Set TNS_ADMIN=Directory_with_correct_tnsnames.ora
    - Issue "tnsping your_dbalias_name" to verify that you can ping the database. If this does not work, then your tnsnames.ora is incorrect
    - If it works, startup Apache by issuing "start Apache -k start"
    - Try connecting to Portal thru your browser
    - This should work.
    - Post a reply if this does not work<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

  • User Authentication Failed error when trying to display a JSP portlet

The steps carried out are as follows :
    1. Created a JSP file named "c.jsp" and deployed it under 902_MidTier_Home\j2ee\home\default-web-app\examples\jsp
    2. Created a table named USER_TABLE under Scott schema to store the usernames and passwords to validate this JSP application.
    3. Registered this JSP as an external application with the following values :
    Application Name           : RAGHU
    Login URL          : http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
User Name/ID Field Name     : username
    Password Field Name     : password
Type of Authentication Used : POST
    3. Clicked on the External Application and entered the username as USER1 and password as USER1 ( These values are available
under USER_TABLE for comparison ). Then it shows the message "Hi User1 .. Welcome message"
    4. Now created a directory named JSPSAMPLE under "WEB-INF\Providers" and put the provider.xml file under this.
Created a raghu.properties file and placed it under "WEB-INF\deployment".
    5. Now tested the testpage using the URL " http://hostname:port/jpdk/providers/raghu " and it works fine.
    6. Registered this as a provider in Portal and added this portlet onto a page. Assigned this page to a newly created user.
It gives the message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information " which is expected. I click on the link and
it takes me to the external application username password. I enter the credentials but this time it comes back again
to the page with the same message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information ".
    7. Basically the values are not passed to the Username and Password in jsp page which is why the problem occurs.
The JSP Code used is as follows :

As I can see from the information posted, you are trying to
use URL-based portlet's SSO feature, though not in a correct
    way.
The SSO feature of URL-based portlets relie on the usage
of Cookies as authentication tokens. For example, in the
    present context, http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
will write a cookie to the client upon successfull authentication.
Subsequent access to the same JSP or some other JSP in the same
workspace should be checking for the existence of this particular
cookie at the client side and if found should not prompt for
    user information again.
If you can fine tune your existing applications as per above
conditions, then everything should work fine. Else you might
want to use page parameters to pass user information.
For more information on page parameters, please visit
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=350&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO&12678_PDKHOME902_39847486.p_subid=249821&12678_PDKHOME902_39847486.p_sub_siteid=73&12678_PDKHOME902_39847486.p_edit=0#NEW1

I just want to make use of Oracle Report Server Services from this 9IAS.So is
it necessary to install full 9IAS Enterprise Edition.
If only Report server services is to be installed then
A)what all services are required along with report server like for example
    WebDB Listener and all?
B)Where should I place my Reports RDF files on this server?
C)What URL I have to pass to call the report from web/browser? like previously
for Report server 6i, I am passing the following URL:
    http://fap02.:7778/dev60cgi/rwcgi60.exe?server=Rep60_FAP02&report=test.rdf&useri
    d=scott/tiger@test&destype=cache&desformat=HTML

Did you have the Photoshop Beta installed? If yes, then you need to uninstall that one before you can install the trial.
Does your account have sufficient privileges? If not, you might need to log in as Admin.
    Run the install again.
If the error recurs, then run CS Cleaner Tool and remove all products.
Reinstalling after that, should resolve the problem. Get the Cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

  • Java Applet in a HTML page: failing with PLS-00306: wrong number of args

We are trying to use a Java Applet in a HTML page. as our system needs to be able to retrieve a predefined set of data from a third party system that uses Dynamic Data Exchange Protocol (DDE) and are encountering errors from APEX and in IE itself.
We are using JavaDde from www.nevaobject.com that enables our Java applet to interact with Windows applications (Third Party System) using DDE.
This functionality is currently used in our Web Form 6i application and we are trying to use the same in the new ApEx application.
We are using ApEx version : 2.1 and actually aer encountering 2 problems:
Problem 1: ApEx failing with PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'ACCEPT'
Problem 2: IE crashes if Applet used in a complex page with several regions (1 Context, 4 Report Regions, 2 level Tabs, Links)
This problem does not occur in the page where there is only applet and one region. In the case of complex page the IE crashes if the page is reloaded
    Test scenario:
1- Create a simple page with the HTML region.
2- Define the Source of the above region as follows
    <OBJECT CLASSID="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"

    </OBJECT>
3- Create a simple Java applet "simpleApplet" - for the test its enough if the applet will have just the init method printing out the mesage to the console
4- Create a Submit Button (not redirect) in Region Header and create unconditional (do not set When Button Pressed property) Page Branch to navigate to another page (the page without the applet)
6- Run the page and Submit -
The error below is returned by the engine:

    "theArrow",
It looks like whatever HTML you're including on your page is creating HTML input form elements inside the HTML form "wwv_flow". This form is posted to wwv_flow.accept, and of course, the PL/SQL procedure wwv_flow.accept doesn't know anything these additional arguments/form elements you're attempting to POST.

  • Ntlm authenticated apps fails after 3.1.1 upgrade

I upgraded my apex instance to 3.1.1 on Friday without any issues. I can log into application builder without any problems and the version 3.1.1.00.09.
Everything in app builder works as expected. However, when I try to run my NTLM authenticated application, I get errors and the page fails to load.
Furthermore, this only happens on my 11g database.
The exact same app, using the same NTLM authentication works just fine on 10g.
    The Apache errors log states:
    mod_plsql: /pls/apex/f HTTP-404 ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel\n
mod_plsql: Unable to reset state for mode 0: Err 3114 url=>/pls/apex/f           I have PlsqlErrorStyle          DebugStyle set, so the page returns a fair amount of data.

    <b>Update</b>
For kicks, I added the page sentry function to the list in the <b>wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local</b> function.
I bounced both the HTTP Server and the database.
None of these actions solved the problem.

this error is actually described in the 10g documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10468_13/relnotes.904/relnotes/portal.htm
see bug 3263977 in Oracle support
The page group in which the default basic search results page and / or the default advanced search results page resided has been deleted.
The fix given in the bug sets the default basic and advanced search pages to be the same, seeded portal page.
The bug is for 9.0.4 but is referred to from the 10g documentation, check the 11g documentation and see if the same bug is referred to.

  • Owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'REMOTE_ADDR' ) fails with PLSQL numeric error

    Oracle 11gR2

    Glassfish 3.1.2
    =============
After upgrading from APEX Listener 1.1.4 -> 2.0.1 the procedure owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'REMOTE_ADDR' ) fails to return the remote IP Address and instead I get the error
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error
Has something changed with the new APEX Listener 2.0.1?  Is there a configuration element in the config or web.xml file that has to be changed before deploying the APEX Listener to GlassFish?
    Thanks.

Hi I cannot reproduce this issue, here's the test case I used, can you try this and report the output generated:
create or replace procedure test_cgi as
    begin
    owa_util.print_cgi_env;
    htp.prn(owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'REMOTE_ADDR' ));
    end;
grant execute on test_cgi to apex_public_user
Then I invoke the above procedure as follows:
    http://localhost:8080/apex/<workspace-schema-name>.test_cgi
where <workspace-schema-name> is the database schema that the APEX workspace is using.
Which produces output like the following:

    string in http://yourhost:yourport/webdb/admin_/gateway.htm,This
step must be done!!I think this version Webdb use SQL*NET to
    connect DB.

I think something wrong in portal metadata installed by RepCA. What is the name of "Version table"? Can I use original (imported from "new database repository") part of portal schema?
    Thanks in advance,
    Wit.

    btw,
google:// and metalink:// brings no hits for solution or even mention of problem (forums:// too as always :c/), so I've try to:
    1. Install MT BI software on Machine B (ignoring opca errors done OK).
    2. Install Infrastructure metadata repository at Machine C (db v90150 done OK).
    3. Implement the metalink://note.276688.1 (in process, report follows).
    btw2,
JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE is only table absent in RepCA's portal schema (in comparing with usual way installation). Treated it as a "version table" by opca?

  • 8i+WebDB HELP:How to make longer fields for "News items"

    8i+WebDB
How do I create longer fields for my "News items"?
If I try to publish long sized News I receive an Error:
"Ora-02005: Implisit(-1) Length not valid for this bind or define
data type". I HAVE chosen "long field" settings in the DB
    (8.1.5.0.0)
Are there any parameter settings in WebDB to allow longer
    fields??
    PLEASE HELP!!

    Hi, Lu:
If I understand your question correctly, you want to modify the FSG of recociliation account of Vendor/Customer to make sure Cost Center/WBS field display in transaction F-22/F-43 for example, right?
I am not sure whether it is possible, I also tried in ECC6.0 but failed to show these two fields. And I think that doesn't make sense to assign CO object to AP/AR reconciliation account, but assign it to Revenue/Expense account in following line items.
And You can use New General Ledger functionality Document Splitting to derive corresponding CO object information to Reconciliation Account line item, but it is enabled only in General Ledger level, not in subledger level.
If you find any other meaningful solution, please also share with us.
    Thanks & BR, Lawrence

  • Reports6i and WebDB

I installed reports 6i and ran patch scripts on webdb user.
    1. @$ORACLE_HOME\report60\server\security\rwwwvins.sql
    2. @$ORACLE_HOME\report60\server\security\rwenable.sql
(Before running i updated script rwinswiz.sql and fixed bug so
    that all scripts run properly
the bug was there was only one @ instead of @@)
I then logged to WebDB and found Report Security link enabled
    with all four options working.
However, i have an Oracle User for which i need to
    create report definition file access.
When i create rdf access during parameter definition i get the
    following
    error:
    POPUP LOV ERROR:
LOV: "select lov_name from wwv_usr_static_lov$ union select
    lov_name from wwv_usr_dynamic_lov$"

table or view does not exist
LOV's are working in forms, reports and other components of
    WebDB.
Am i missing any Role for this application user or what would be
    the reason?
