WebDynpro ABAP post transport activities

Dear All,
I have created a webdynpro ABAP application  and I want to transport it from development system to quality system. I would like to know apart from the transport are there any post transport settings or service activation needs to be done so that the application runs fine in the Quality system.
Regards,
Samir

Hi Samir,
After you transport the WD Applicationfrom DEV to QA, you should activate the services that your Application requires. For this you need to go in to Tcode "SICF"(HTTP Service Hierarchy Maintenance). Now, click on the "Execute" button. Now in the hierarchy navigate to the required services and "Activate " the required services.
I hope this helps you.
Regards,
Gopal.

  • Transport and Post transport activities

    Hello Experts,
    We have activated a standard business content cube and loaded data in the DEV system, during the activation process and development of the infocube I had created a transport request and assigned all the repairs to it. Now this request contains couple of Info Objects under it.
    After the complete installation of other objects like update rules, queries, infosources now we want to transport all of them to PRD.
    So can I delete the previous transports request with repair and create a completely new transport request using the transport tool, collect all objects before and after in the infocube and send it to PRD ? would it be safe and deliver a consistent structure in PRD ?  Also please suggest activities I need to carry out after transport and anything else that I need to check or keep in mind before creating a transport request.
    Thanks
    Sonu

    Hi Shabar,
    Thank you for the information, most of the infoObjects that are needed for the infoCube are already existing in the PRD and those which do not are collected for transport in the transport tool. And with the option before and after all the query, update rules etc. have also been collected.
    Regarding the replication of datasources, I have done it in the DEV and checked it, do you mean that I first have to replicate it in the PRD and then do the transport ?
    Thanks
    Sonu

  • Popup for transport request in WebDynpro ABAP application

    Hi there,
    which function module can I use to prompt the user for the transport request in an WebDynpro ABAP application.
    In SAPGUI I found 'TR_ORDER_CHOICE_CORRECTION' to do this but I get a short dump when I call this one from a WebDynpro ABAP application ...
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Steffen

    Thanks for your replay!
    The reason I get the short dump is the function modules I found call a dynpro screen inside for prompting for the request. I am not surprised this does not work for WebDynpro applications ....
    So I thought there is a generic function module for WebDynpro applications available or a WebDynpro component I can use for this ... Sure I could build it by myself but this does not seem to be the right way for me since this requirement seems to be of a generic nature.
    @Gaurav: I am interested to bring up a generic popup for prompting for the request. So I cannot use the flags to suppress the screen ...

    Steffen

  • Related activities and new webdynpro abap

    Hi, Experts,
    I have to include an webdynpro abap as a link in the related activities (MSS). All the custo is doing (areas, services, etc), but i don't know how to recover the correct pernr for the employee in the abap source code.
    Do anyone know it?

    Hi,
    There is a big difference if you want an employee number of the current user or some other employee that the manager has selected in MSS in some other web dynpro application.
    If you just need to find the employee number of the current user, that's easy. You can for example use function HR_GETEMPLOYEEDATA_FROMUSER, or just get it from table PA0105 (infotype 105, subtype 0001).
    Anyhow, if there is a need for you to get the selected employee from other component in the portal page, and especially if the other component is standard Java Web Dynpro component, things get much more complicated. You need to catch a portal event. But probably you are after something that my first suggestion would help?

  • How to Generate New Version of Enhancements done to Std WebDynpro ABAP obj

    Hi Experts,
    We have enhanced a SAP Std WebDynpro ABAP component (HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY) using Enhancement framework provided by SAP. Multiple enhancements were done on the same component for different requirements. Now, under the Enhancement Implementations folder of this component, you can see 5 enhancements of the component each referring to the 5 different changes done (most of the changes were done to the same view ).
    These changes has now been transported to the Quality System. Now, the client wants one of the changes to be removed. I am not sure of the impact of removing, for eg: the 3rd enhancement,  on the other changes done as multiple enhancements were done in a mixed manner.
    What i want to do is to generate a new version of WebDynpro component on Dev which has all the enhancements done so far using Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version. Then try to delete the 3rd enhancement folder, so that if something goes wrong, I can always revert to this newly created version on DEV which has all changes available.
    Questions:
    1)  Before that, I would like to know if I can generate versions of the enhancements done of WebDynpro ABAP using enhancement framework by using Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version ?
    2) If yes, I want to generate one version which has all the enhancements done so far using enhancement framework. For doing so, where should i do the click or selection (Is it Std Main Component or is it Enhancements in the enhancements folder-if so, there are 5 of them, and which one??) before i go to  Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version. I am not clear where i should select or keep the cursor selected on before generating a new version?
    Please guide with step by step details.
    Thanks,

    I have moved this post to the HTML5 layouts forum, which is more appropriate.
    I am guessing you are using Rh11 as you have a trial copy. I have some instructions for Rh10 and the only difference should be the script used. See the contact page on my site and request those details. Include a link to this thread.

  • Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

    Dear Friends,
    We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
    Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
    The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
    1st ] Within R/3
    Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
    2nd ] From webpage to R/3
    Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
    In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
    In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
    The setting which are done in Prod. server are,

    You have to disable the DDic binding on the column before your override text will show up:
    data: l_ref_cmp_usage type ref to if_wd_component_usage.
      l_ref_cmp_usage =   wd_this->wd_cpuse_alv( ).
      if l_ref_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) is initial.
        l_ref_cmp_usage->create_component( ).
      endif.
      data l_salv_wd_table type ref to iwci_salv_wd_table.
      l_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv( ).
      data l_table type ref to cl_salv_wd_config_table.
      l_table = l_salv_wd_table->get_model( ).
      data l_column type ref to cl_salv_wd_column.
      l_column = l_table->if_salv_wd_column_settings~get_column( 'POSTING_DATE' ).
      data l_header type ref to cl_salv_wd_column_header.
      l_header = l_column->get_header( ).
      l_header->set_prop_ddic_binding_field(
        property =  if_salv_wd_c_ddic_binding=>bind_prop_text
        value = if_salv_wd_c_ddic_binding=>ddic_bind_none ).
      l_header->set_text( `Posting Date` ).

  • Printing window contents in webdynpro ABAP

    Dear fellow SDNers,
    The first reply that may come to your mind for this post is that "This has been discussed numerous times in this forum".
    But the fact is that I am not able to make out how it is possible to print the contents of a webdynpro window. I want a print-screen like functionality wherein i click a button on the view and the contents of the same view, along with the ui elements, values entered everything should open for print-preview in another window. The new window should basically have the same view displayed, with none of the user actions enabled. From there i need to actually print through another button if the user so desires.
    Having done a search, I found that people have suggested ways to do it easily in webdynpro java. But i need to do it in webdynpro abap.
    Also, some posts mention the use of interactive forms. But I could not make out how to pass the entire view displayed to a form at runtime. Do I need to create a form separately and display it using the interactive form ui element? What I could find out was that the values of the context node attributes can be passed on and mapped to an adobe form but that is not what i require. I need the entire view layout as it is displayed.
    Please help me out on this. If this is the exact requirement that is discussed many times in the forum then I request you to please lead me to the right threads.
    Regards,
    Priyank

    Hi,
    i have tried this proceeding.
    But i got an Error: "Could not start Layout Designer"
    So there is a need of a local installation of the Forms Design Tool to use the InteractiveForm-UIElement.

  • Modification in standard webdynpro abap application

    Hi
    In my portal for some of my ESS applications are used in webdynpro abap for example travel expense and travel request now i have a requirement like i have to make the create travel expense button disable based on the condition llike i only he has to click create travel expense after creating travel request .So can anybody let us know how to do modofications in the standard webdynpro abap application.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    For making changes in the standard web dynpro compoenent, you need to create and implement enhancement.
    For this you can find many links in SDN  on how to create enhancement.
    Now coming to your specific requirement.
    Here what you can do is open the standard component.
    1. press ctrl +F4, It will open a popup there give some name to your enhancement.and desicrption . then press Enter.
         Assign it to teh package you want.
    2. Go to the view where you want to disable the button, There go to the layout and find the ID of the button. say it is 'BTN'.
    3. Now go to methods tab, scroll right and selct post exit method of wddomodifyview emthod.
    4. there write the code with the condition you want.
    if  flag  eq 'yes'.
    data  lv_btn type ref to cl_wd_button.
    lv_btn ?= view->get_element( 'BTN' ).
    lv_btn->set_enabled( abap_false ).
    endif.
    5. one last thing is you can create a attribute named flag of type string and set its value to 'yes' when you want the button to enable.
    Thanks

  • Portal Workprotect in Talent Profile - WebDynpro ABAP FPM application

    We are trying to implement Workprotect in ESS - Talent Profile application (HRTMC_EMPLOYEE_PROFILE). The requirement is that when user had entered data in either Internal work experience, External Work experience or other tabs; before he has saved the data, if the user clicks on some other link in portal or try to close the window, Portal work protect that is enabled should prompt the user to save the data or risk losing data.
    What has been done so far:
    1. Enabled Workprotect on Portal:
    Step 1: In the portal, go to System Administration -> System
    Configuration -> Service Configuration.
    Step 2: In the portal catalog, Select
    application "com.sap.portal.epcf.loader" and open the properties for
    service "epcfloader" for editing
    Step 3: Set property workprotect.mode.default = 3
    Step 4: Save -> Restart service
    Now, Portal Work protect is enabled.
    2. On the Talent application end, I have seen many posts in forum & FPM related workprotect documentation. But, it is not clear as to how this actually works when it comes to FPM application.
    The documents says FPM allows application to make use of work protect
    mode offered by Portal. To achieve this, the application must u2018tellu2019 the
    FPM whether it contains unsaved
    (u201Cdirtyu201D) data. For this, the FPM provides the Web Dynpro Interface
    IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION. In the is dirty method, you have to put
    METHOD is_dirty.
    if * component contains unsaved data
    ev_dirty = abap_true.
    else.
    ev_dirty = abap_false.
    endif.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Questions:
    1. If you see the shared application component HRTMC_TP_SHARED_DATA, it implements interface IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION. But, the isdirty method in the component controller has already existing code
    METHOD is_dirty.
    ev_dirty = wd_this->mv_is_dirty.
    ENDMETHOD.
    Where should we put the code given below as described in FPM documentation. In shared component or in individual components like HRTMC_TP_WORKEXP_INTERNAL, HRTMC_WORKEXP_INTERNAL, HRTMC_TP_EDUCATION
    etc.
    METHOD is_dirty.
    if * component contains unsaved data
    ev_dirty = abap_true.
    else.
    ev_dirty = abap_false.
    endif.
    ENDMETHOD.
    And, the line "* component contains unsaved data" as described in document- how do we code this for talent profile considering that there are multiple components, shared component etc? My requirement is that if user has entered some data in any of the tabs like internal work experience, external work experience, then work protect should work if
    user tries to navigate away or close browser.
    2. If you see general documentation for Work protect and webdynpro (not for FPM), it says that the application must define a special status (dirty flag), which tells the portal when there is unsaved data. You can set and cancel this status (TRUE, FALSE) using method
    SET_APPLICATION_DIRTY_FLAG in interface IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION.
    And it goes on to say that one must set application flag dirty
    SET_APPLICATION_DIRTY_FLAG
    exporting
    DIRTY_FLAG = TRUE | FALSE
    and also set work protect mode
    call method L_PORTAL_MANAGER->SET_WORK_PROTECT_MODE
    exporting
    MODE = NONE | APPLICATION_ONLY | BOTH
    3. Which is the correct way to enable Work protect in case of Talent profile applications? Which method of which component should should we add code to? Which of the above ways should we follow ( Interface IF_FPM_WORK_PROTECTION or IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION) ? Which component and which method should we Set Work protect and  Set isdirty
    Please advise.

    Hi Experts,
    Can you please provide some useful info in implementing work protect in Standard FPM WebDynpro ABAP applications? In this case, as mentioned above, the application is  ESS Talent Profile application (HRTMC_EMPLOYEE_PROFILE).
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

  • The webdynpro/ABAP (WDA) calling RFC enabled FM of other ECC systems

    The webdynpro/ABAP (WDA) has problem calling RFC enabled FM of other ECC systems.
    WDA expects all the ABAPs, RFC FMs  of remote system(DEV, QA..) to reside inside its own instance.
    It is hard to transport and maintain these ABAPs FMs into a portal ABAP WDA instance.
    Proxy generation at WDA client:
    =======================
    1. If we can make an XI enable  an ABAP or RFC enabled FM of the remote ECC,
    I think the XI proxy classes can be generated at the client WDA system.
    Other options?
    How do I do it?  Can you give some tips.
    2. How do I manually code the RFC Call to BAPI/FM from Webdynpro controller or other interface?
    I am stuck with the above as the webservice option is not available at our ECC server.  It does not have a java engine installed for webservice to be available.
    Can you help on the above 2 options?

    Hi Mike ,
    <b><b> Answer of 2.</b></b>
    How do I manually code the RFC Call to BAPI/FM from Webdynpro controller or other interface?
    I am doing same thing for my current SRM implementation.I am taking data to SRM server from another R/3 server .
    This is solution I have used
    1) First of all I have made ABAP connection in SM59 .
    Go to SM59 .In ABAP Connection creat ABAP connection with system with which u want communicate .
    Eg I am connection with Systems PB1.
    So i developed Connection call PB1CLNT800.
    2) In my requirement I have taken data in my context from another r/3,
    I have give called RFC in my supply function of node.
    Call to RFC is as usual.
    In my case,
    CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_MATNR'
    DESTINATION 'PB1CLNT800'
    TABLES
    IT_MATNR = IT_MATNR.
    Onwards I have read my itab IT_MATNR and populated data to context.
    Hope solution will serve your purpose.
    Give point if it works .If any problem i have other ways.
    Cheers

    Hi Friends,
    We are planning use OCI external catalog for adding items to the shopping cart. I am creating WDA application which will act as the external catalog.
    In my application I am able to read the Hook_url and other parameters of the OCI configured. I got stuck in returning the hook_url by posting the html page back to SRM shopping cart which should be like below.
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    SAP Open Catalog Interface: HTML - Example
    <BODY bgcolor="#DED6C2">
    <FORM action="<%=Request.QueryString("HOOK_URL")%>" method=post target=_top>

    <input type="hidden" name="NEW_ITEM-EXT_PRODUCT_ID[2]" value = "">
    </FORM>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Is this acheivable using webdynpro ABAP? If so how we can do this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Prabhuraj

    Hello Vikas,
    I am having the same kind of requirement. We are creating Web dynpro abap component as external Catalog. When user enters or selects some kind of materials in external catalog (custom wda), the data should be returned back to Shopping cart.
    I have HOOK_URL value with me, which when i call, goes back to "Create Shopping cart" screen.
    How to send the data to SC screen.
    I donot have the document which was referred in this post and I am unable to navigate to the link mentioned by you.

  • Relavance of assistant class in Webdynpro ABAP.

    When we can create a object for a class in the attributes tab of the component controller and acess the methods of the class directly, why do we need a assistant class.??
    Moderator message : Search for available information, post the question in Web Dynpro forum, thread locked
    Edited by: Vinod Kumar on Dec 22, 2011 3:09 PM

    Hai,
           In webdynpro ABAP,we use to write all the coding part within the component itself but there is a provision with which we can write the necessary business logic outside the component that is in a class and we can use that class as the assistance class in the current component. It is same as model class.
