Weblogic 8.1 Integration and struts

Hi,
I've problems to deploy web applications using struts1.1 on the weblogic 8.1 integration
or platform(it works well on the weblogic 8.1 server installation).
I've always the same problem : java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.struts.action.ActionServlet.
Or the jar for struts are in the war archive. It sounds like a conflict in the
classloaders. Has anybody the same problem ?
Thanks by advance, Rodrigue

    Hi,
Generally this type of exception raised by a class or the serialization runtime when a class may not be serialized. The argument should be the name of the class.
You might be forgot to implement the serializable interface for the class in struts frame work.
    check it properly.

  • WEBLOGIC 6.1 AND STRUT 1.1

Does anybody knows if weblogic 6.1 server support strut 1.1? Thank you.

    Hi Janne,
You may want to check this link:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/compatibility/compatibility.html
"janne" <[email protected]> wrote in message
    news:[email protected]..
Are WebLogic 6.1 and 7.0 EJBs interoperable? Can a client EJB on 6.1
call another EJB on 7.0 and vice versa?
Weblogic 5.1 and 6.0 were not interoperable. Interoperability was
    achieved with versions 5.1 sp12 and 6.1 sp 3.

  • Integration of Weblogic Server 10.3 and Spring 2.5

    Hello.
I read that Weblogic 10.3 supports a Spring extension which allows Web component creation using Spring framework.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/programming/spring.html#wp1079570
    Has anybody tried this?
    In particuar, documentation says:
"Enable the Spring extension by setting the <component-factory-class-name> element to org.springframework.jee.interfaces.SpringComponentFactory. This element exists in EJB, Web, and application descriptors."
Which descriptor for a Web application? web.xml? weblogic.xml? I tried both but I received validation errors.
Can anyone explain this part a little better?
    Regards
    Davide

I've been trying to get this to work... No luck as of yet...
My problem now is that I get this exception when I don't have pitchfork-1.0-m5.jar on the my domains classpath.

However if I put it on wls calsspath I get a AbstractMethodError:

I've tried various tips found http://forum.springframework.org/showthread.php?t=38361 and also tried setting the “component-factory-class-name” tag in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-application.xml but still get ClassNotFoundException.

  • OIM-OAM integration and LDAP Sync

Hello All, I have deployed OIM 11g R2 and OAM/OVD 11.1.1.5. Now I need to enable LDAP sync for OIM-OAM integration and I'm not allowed to extend Oracle schema in AD. So I decided to use OUD for FMW schema and I have completed all those steps and OUD is up and running. Since my enterprise directory is AD and OUD is my FMW directory, I need to think of a split profile setting in OVD. I'm following this link http://fusionapplications-ateam.blogspot.com/2012/04/split-profiles-with-ad-and-oid-for.html for this deployment. I have OVD adapters configured for AD, OUD, Join view and changelog. The link does not clearly explain the steps in OIM for LDAP Sync.
When I configure LDAP Sync in OIM, should I point the sync to the OUD users container?
When and how this cn=shadowentries container will be used? I understand that the password (obattributes) are used for password management by OAM, but wondering where will that get stored in OUD?
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    when I use url:
    http://idm1:14000/admin/faces/pages/Admin.jspx
I get Access Manager login page, I can click links: register new user, reset password and I get correct OIM pages. But when I type xelsysadm and password I get error on the next page:
    Error 401--Unauthorized
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
I can't logon to EM, OAMconsole, Weblogic etc. when the OAM is running. In OIM log I got errors from oam-agent: "User is not authorized to access resource, MinorCode: DENY, MajorCode: DENY".
I have got user xelsysadm in OIM and in LDAP, when the OAM is not running I can login to OIM, create users in OIM (they appear in OID) etc. The user xelsysadm is added to group: OAMAdministrators. Also when I try to logon to OAM console (http://idm1:7001/oamconsole) using orcladmin name I get error: Access to administration console is restricted. But when I use weblogic username (the user is in OAMAdministrators group in OID) i can get OAMconsole.
How can I change logon type in OIM?
    best

  • JSR 168 and Struts support sample error

I'm trying to get the sample webapp for JSR 168 and Struts support working with
WebLogic 8.1, and I'm having problems with the struts portlet. The other portlets
seem to work fine, but the Struts portlet gives the following error after clicking

That error appears in the browser. At the same time, the following exception

    Hi Brodi,
I am having the same problem as Patrick. The problem is not in the struts portlet,
but in the forms the portlet navigates to. After the struts portlet loads, I
am able to use the html:links and navigate through the pages. Though when I try
to submit a form I get the action not found error. For example the html-select

I've seen similar things happen when the module name is either not specified
    correctly
in the StrutsContent element in the portlet, or when the module is misconfigured,
usually because of either a mising config file or a mis-named config
    file.
Ensure that you have a the struts config file for the exercise-taglib
    module in
    WEB-INF, named jpf-struts-config-struts-exercise-taglib.xml.

  • JavaServer Faces and Struts

For those of you interested in using JavaServer Faces and Struts together (and my mailbox indicates that this is quite a few people :-), I'm happy to announce the immediate availability of an integration library that allows you to use the EA3 release of JavaServer Faces with a recent nightly build (20030216 or later) of Struts 1.1 -- it will also work with the upcoming 1.1-rc2 and 1.1-final releases -- together. Nightly builds of the integration library are available at <http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-struts/nightly/struts-faces/>.
The sources for this package are in the Struts CVS repository, in the "contrib/struts-faces" directory, and will be included in the source nightly distributions starting with the 20030307 version. It is not currently planned to include the struts-faces integration library with binary distributions of Struts 1.1, since it is still an EA quality release.
See the README.txt file (included in the nightly build) for more information on running the example application and using the integration library in your own applications.

What are the reasons not to have extended
    RequestProcessor from Struts with the
capabilities of the FacesServlet... a sort of
    "FacesProcessor" (extended the regular
RequestProcessor)? (should be nice for views
with no JSF components: in order not to execute
FacesServlet for each views , event if there is
no JSF component in the view)It turned out that I needed a customized RequestProcessor anyway (a couple of the processXxx methods had to work differently), but it actually would have been more work incorporating FacesServlet directly into it. In essence, there is now (in the combined version) a "front controller" for UI events , FacesServlet, and a "middle controller" for form submit events (RequestProcessor). When a UI event happens that just causes the current page to be redisplayed (think of a tree control where you click on the "expand this node" icon), you don't really want the Struts controller servlet to even be bothered by this request. Indeed, if you're using a presentation that was based on DHTML+Javascript, such an event would have been handled on the client anyway, and would never have been sent to the server at all.
The combined approach still supports Faces and non-Faces pages, though. This means you can migrate one page at a time and test things (which is exactly what I did when I ported the pages of the example app).

  • DAO and Struts 2

    Hello again,
I've been doing a fair bit of reading in regard to Struts 2 (all theory just now) and how Struts fits/implements the MCV architecture but I was looking for a bit of clarification.
I'm not 100% certain of whether the Struts Action represents the Model or whether the Struts Action interacts with the Model. I'm favouring Struts Actions interacting with the Model but could somebody please clear this up for me?
I was also wondering if somebody could explain to me (possible an example too :-)) of how Actions fit together with the Model and with Data Access Objects.
    Thanks for any help,
    J.Love

To help disentangle things. The model exists on its own. It is what makes your system unique and does the work. It stands alone. The model may integrate with other systems and tiers (e.g., a database for the persistence tier, a Google search query, a request to a payroll system, etc.). However, in principle it has no dependencies. You could theoretically (and many times do in fact) mock away the integration and persistence tiers so you can concentrate on solely testing the model. (Note: you will also read about service-oriented architectures; the service tier is also typically considered part of your model).
Now, that leaves the V and the C. Here things are totally different. While in principle it is possible to write a controller that is agnostic to the views that use it, in reality it is rarely worth the effort. Only if you are supporting multiple clients (a web service call, a mobile device, a web page and perhaps a command line interface) does it make sense to make the controller extract.
Normally, the view and controller are intimately dependent on each other. But, and this is crucial, the model knows nothing about them. Yes, you might subconsciously design some of your model code with a screen or workflow in mind, that can't be helped. But on an implementation, design and architecture level, the view and controller depend on the model and not the other way around. You should be able to completely port your application to another VC technology or platform and only minimally have to modify your model,if at all.
The view and the controller do depend on each other. The controller reacts to requests sent by the view (listeners in Swing, actions in Struts, etc.) The controller then invokes model functionality. The model will normally return a result. The controller passes this result (perhaps adding additional information stored in session or perhaps converting a data structure to something easier for the view to render, such as converting a graph of POJO's to a list of list) back to the view which renders it.
Don't get caught up in the seduction of implementing the full stack of EE right away. We never use EJB's. Spring is motivated by this philosophy (see [http://www.amazon.com/Expert-One-One-Development-without/dp/0764558315]). You almost certainly will at least have Servlets or a MVC framework. But unless you actually need EJB's, don't implement what is not required. (This is not to say EJB's do not have their place or their use or to say they are not now much easier to use than before).

  • Weblogic Domain Credentials integration

    Hi,
Could any of you please tell me if there are any best practices in integrating
different weblogic domains across the enterprise.
    Here is the scenario...
If my enterprise has 10 different weblogic domains (say each having one managed
instance), and each domain needs to interact with all the other domain (say through
JMS), how can we have the domain trust set between all these different domains.
To complicate the issue, we have diffrent versions of weblogic (say 6.1 and 7.0).
    Any input will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Sri

    Thanks for your reply.
I have looked for the PathTrim option, but it only applies when I want to trim a part of the url forwarded from Apache to Weblogic, right?
What I want to do is that Weblogic itself trims a part of urls that it generates when processing jsps.

  • Application Integrator and SSO by SAPLOGONTICKET

After the docs (e.g. "How to Use the Application Integrator") and blobs mainly focus on user mapping, I wonder how to configure SAPLOGONTICKET in com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Generic efficiently.
Does combining "URL template" and "URL template fraction for SSO" give a chance for sending a Login Ticket to another server (distinct domain)? Or is the "authentication" part in "URL template" useless for Login Tickets (as stated in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=21141">Thread 21141</a>)?
    Thanks
    Gerhard

    Hi Gerhard,
If your system is set to log on with SAP logon tickets for authentication, you can specify an authentication template in parameter SSO2Template, e.g. MYSAPSSO2=<Request.SSO2Ticket>. That's all it takes on portal side to configure the SAP Logon Ticket when using application integrator. .
If you want to use SAP Logon Ticket for multiple domains (portal server and backend server are in different domains) you have to take special care. Have a look into the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/a0/88a340fa432b54e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a> to find out how to configure logon tickets for multiple domains.
    Hope I could help!
