WebLogic deployment help needed ..
Hi
Apologies, if this posting is inappropriate here, but couldn't find a
better
way ..
We are developing J2EE based applications on the WebLogic 6.0 platform.
Our
developers are experts in Java and J2EE technologies.
We will be deploying our applications into a production environment
early March.
At this point, we do not have expertise in deploying J2EE based
applications
into a 'real' Wl6.0 production environment with clustering, failover,
load-balancing, virtual-hosting and all those other production type
features.
We can and will obviously learn all this over time, but our release
dates are
quite close ..
We're looking for some very short-term consulting help and guidance in
this
area, from experts who have 'been there and done that'. Please contact
me, if
you have the right experience and are willing to help. We are located in
Fremont, California.
My email address: [email protected]
thanks,
-john
Hi Srini,
I also have similar kind of requirement. I have did all the things mentioned in the above Rittmanmead URL. All the things are working fine, but when Primary BI server is down, then I am not able to log in to the application (it is showing authentication failure). In log file of BI Server it is showing below error
(Error Message From BI Security Service: WSM-06162 The policy referenced by URI "oracle/wss_username_token_service_policy" could not be retrieved as connection to Policy Manager cannot be established at "t3://01HW486222:7001,01HW486222:9704,01HW486222:9704" due to invalid configuration or inactive state.)
where 01HW486222 is our secondary server.
Same error is coming if I am trying to login with Primary server.
Please let me know if anything else need to configure, other than above mention rittmanmead link.
Thanks

Regards,
Ujwala1. Re-test your connection from JDev to AS and it must success.
I suggest to create a new OC4J instance on AS and fill
the instance name on the dialog window while
creating AS Connection on JDev. i.e OC4J instance name (optional)
2. For JDev 9.0.5.x/10.1.2 using AS 9.0.4,
don't forget to install ADF Runtime Libraries on AS.
3. Make sure your AS support JDK/J2SE version as in JDev.
JDev 10.1.2 need AS to use JDK version 1.4.2_04-b05.
You can download it from http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_04/index.html
and install it.
To cek your ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin/java -fullversion

Urgent - OBIEE High Availability Deployment - Help Needed
HI All,
I don't have much OBIEE Admin experience, but for a client I have to deploy the OBIEE11g High Availability environment (with cluster,load balancer - http server so on) within a week or so.
I tried to go thru Oracle's guide on deployment,but seems it'd be helpful, if someone who has already done this kind of job - provides a step by step guide with screenshot etc. Otherwise time is too short for this,
Can you please help.

Urgent help needed on deployment facts
Hi
I had completed a Java Web based application using JApplet, which in turn uses Java Media Framework and Java Communications APIs. So when i deploy this application and let the clients use this application. I need to dump some jar files and properties files into the clients JRE so that all the APIs will work properly. Without any installations. I tried doing this manually by copying these files into client machines So is there a direct method for performing the task. Or i need to add some additional code to my applet so as to find the clients current JRE version and place the required files under using FTP? Can i write a setup routine or something which does all these operations once the client access the applet?
Help needed in the above issues
Thanks in advance
SwarajWhat you will want to do is look into JNLP and Java WebStart. They allow you to write a setup for your product that makes installation as easy as InstallShield™ does for the Windows™ platform (ie: it allows customers who cannot tell Java from Perl to install your product).

Weblogic deployment APIs giving error for deployment on weblogic 10.3.2
I am using weblogic deployment APIs to distribute my war file on weblogic 10.3.2 but it gives the following error on distribute
weblogic.management.ManagementException: [Deployer:149003]Unable to access application source information in '<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-/W3C/DTD HTML 4.0 Draft/EN">/app/jamagent.war' for application 'jamagent.war'. The specific error is: No application files exist.
My sample code is below.
DeploymentOptions options = null;
Target[] targets = myConnectedManager.getTargets();
Class wlsFactoryClass = Class.forName("weblogic.deploy.api.tools.SessionHelper");
Method m = wlsFactoryClass.getDeclaredMethod("getDeploymentManager",new Class[]{String.class,String.class,String.class,String.class});
m.setAccessible(true);
WebLogicDeploymentManager myConnectedManager = (WebLogicDeploymentManager)m.invoke(wlsFactoryClass, new Object[]{hostname,port,weblogicUsername,weblogicPasswd});
myConnectedManager.enableFileUploads();
options = new DeploymentOptions();
options.setName(destWarName);
ProgressObject po = myConnectedManager.distribute(targets, new File("/tmp/jamagent_orig.war), null,options);
The header of web.xml is
<!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
Can someone help why this is happening? I am not including weblogic-application.xml in the war file as i think this is not required for a war file. Is that the reason?
Edited by: user790199 on Dec 28, 2009 7:37 AMHi,
The DTD used in "web.xml" should not cause any issue ...though it's the OLD "web.xml"...Please try to run the Following command to Generate the New Deployment Descriptors from the Existing Application:
Step1). Open a Command Window and Run "setWLSEnv.sh" or "setWLSEnv.cmd".
Step2). In the Command Prompt move to the Current Directory where you have placed your Application and then Run the Following Command
java weblogic.DDConverter -d NewDDs jamagent.war
Here Above Command Will read the "jamagent.war" War archive and then It will generate the New DDs in "NewDDs" directory...Which we need to replace with the OLD DDs present in our WebApplication..

That sounds like you use 1.2 on the client side - make sure that you use1.3.

Question related to remote weblogic deployment using wldeploy task
Problem Description: Iam trying to perform a remote deployment using wldeploy task from one of the unix box(this box does not have a weblogic instance at all) to a remote unix weblogic server. I get the following connection exception. This script works fine when I do a remote deployment from my windows machine(this has a local weblogic server)to the same remote unix weblogic server.
Question:
1. Do I need to have a weblogic instance locally where this wldeploy task is executing?
2. What configuration should be done in the remote weblogic server to support remote deployment?
The ant task is:
<property name="wlantjars" value="/ftmp/users/usrgrb/tmp/antjars" />
<path id="wlappc.classpath">
<fileset dir="${wlantjars}">
<include name="*.jar"/>
</fileset>
</path>
<taskdef name="wldeploy" classpathref="wlappc.classpath" classname="weblogic.ant.taskdefs.management.WLDeploy"/>
<target name="deployear_dev2">
<wldeploy user="weblogic" password="*******" adminurl="t3://he3unxd189v01:9100" action="deploy" upload="true" remote="true" source="${build.dir}/mktpx.ear" name="mktpx" targets="devCluster" />
</target>
I receive the following error when I execute the ant task "deployear_dev2"

Make sure to place the wlfullclient.jar at the beginning of the classpath ...any other WLS specific Jars need not to be added additionally. For above error please refer to : Client SAF error
Few Things:
1). When I execute the ant build from a remote box , should I have a weblogic server running...the reason I ask is..does the wldeploy task work only if there is an active weblogic domain in the local machine. When I execute the same build from my windows machine where I have a local instance of weblogic , it works uccessfully .Whenever you try to deploy any application on WebLogic Domain then the Admin Server must be running. Because the deployment entries goes inside the "config.xml" and the original copy of this file is maintained by AdminServer only. So the Admin Server must be running for any kind of configuration changes or for Deployment.
2). I am told that http protocol is not an option in my work place and I have to use t3 protocol only. In that case, based on the error below, is it possible that the connection between my local unix box and the remote weblogic box is stricted? How to I test the connectivity using t3? I pinged the server from the local unix server and it came back with reply, but could not telnet to that remote box nor ftp to that box does not work.You can check t3 protcol is working fine or not by using the following one line command:
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://he3unxd189v01:9100 -username weblogic -password weblogic PING
If above command fails to ping the server it means either you are using a wrong HostName & Port OR your N/W is doesnot allow t3 protocol connections OR there may be a N/W Issue.

Weblogic Deployment Descriptor for CMP EJB
Hi all,
Am new to EJB, CMP. Pls help me how to write deployment descriptors for the CMP EJB for Weblogic.
Give me the list of the Deployment descriptors needed and also pls give me some samples
thanks in advance
rgds
Ravi BharathiThe easiest way is to go through some tutorial or refer the code samples. If you have installed weblogic, there are examples provided in the weblogic installation folder itself for each type of bean. Basically for cmp you have to provide the table names and mapping between the class variables to db fields in weblogic_cmp_rdbms.xml deployment descriptor.
-
I'm trying to use weblogic.deploy during development.
Say I change something in the bean class. I have noticed that it's enough to
replace the class files in the deployable unit (that is not running ejbc)
and restart the server to get the changes to occur.
However using weblogic.deploy doesn't seem to work. Regardless if I change
an existing jar file or use ejbc.
I'm able to replace the unit according to "weblogic.deploy list" but the
changes aren't there when I run the EJB.
-Is there something about the classpath. I am developing in an IDE and have
all classes in the classpath, which are in the jar. Actually I tried to
remove them but it didn't matter. But classpaths are always tricky.
-I have connections between entity beans and session beans open during the
redeploy. May these have some effect.
Would be very happy for answers.
Regards
Erik RomsonI think I am having similar sorts of problems. We are trying to use weblogic.deploy
with the update action to automate our deployment process. The deployement appears
to go smoothly and we get no error messages, but none of the changed files appear
to actually make it to the server. We are deploying an EAR file. We I deploy
this file manually via the web console everything works. But if I alter some
classes and rebuild the EAR and then try to deploy it with weblogic.deploy it
doesn't seem to actually take effect. Do I need to undelpoy and then deploy again
instead of using the update action?
Any help would be appreciated.

Help needed to run JSTL 1.1 in Tomcat 6.0.16
Hi All,Help needed to run JSTL 1.1 in Tomcat 6.0.16. I am trying to run the example given in http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html The example tries to connect to MySQL database from JSP using JSTL and JNDI Datasource.I am running the example using Eclipse 3.4.2 using Sysdeo plugin to start and stop Tomcat server from Eclipse IDE.
My web.xml file has <web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:web="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" id="WebApp_ID" version="2.5">
</web-app>
and test.jsp has proper taglib directives
<%@ taglib prefix="sql" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/sql" %>
<%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>
I have placed the jstl.jar and standard.jarof the jakarta-taglibs-standard-1.1.2.zip under E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\WebContent\WEB-INF\lib directory also placedcontext.xml file under E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\WebContent\META-INF and the content of context.xml is as below
<Context path="/DBTest" docBase="DBTest"
debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
<Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000"
username="deepa" password="mysql" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/javatest?autoReconnect=true"/>
</Context>
Now while running the example, Eclipse creates one DBTest.xml file under C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\conf\Catalina\localhost
which has the following line:
<Context path="/DBTest" reloadable="true" docBase="E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest" workDir="E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\work" />
I am getting the following error when running http://localhost/DBTest/WebContent/test.jsp

what is the problem with my code?
When running the same example, by creating a local server in Eclipse(creating new Server connection pointing to same Tomcat 6.0 installation) it runs fine without any error.Hi evnafets,
Wow, very helpful information, great insight into working of Eclipse. Thanks a lot.
I have one more question. I have a context.xml file under {color:#0000ff}E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\WebContent\META-INF{color} folder and that has the Resource element to connect to MySQL database:
{code{color:#000000}}{color}<Context path="/DBTest" docBase="DBTest" debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">

{color:#0000ff}url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/javatest?autoReconnect=true"/>{color}
{color:#0000ff}</Context>{color}As usual when running application in local Tomcat server of Eclipse, this data source works fine. But when I run the application on Tomcat, by starting Sysdeo plugin from Eclipse, the DBTest.xml file created in C:\Tomcat 6.0\conf\Catalina\localhost has the context entry as<Context path="/DBTest" reloadable="true" docBase="E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\WebContent" workDir="E:\Deepa\workspace\DBTest\work">
</Context>The<Resource> element I have specified in the context.xml of \WebContent\META-INF folder is not taken into account by Tomcat and it gives the following error:May 21, 2009 5:20:04 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve invoke

Help Needed in Creating Java Class and Java Stored Procedures
Hi,
Can anyone tell how can i create Java Class, Java Source and Java Resource in Oracle Database.
I have seen the Documents. But i couldn't able to understand it correctly.
I will be helpful when i get some Examples for creating a Java Class, Java Source and Stored Procedures with Java with details.
Is that possible to Create a Java class in the oracle Database itself ?.
Where are the files located for the existing Java Class ?..
Help Needed Please.
Thanks,
Murali.vHi Murali,
Heres a thread which discussed uploading java source file instead of runnable code on to the database, which might be helpful :
Configure deployment to a database to upload the java file instead of class
The files for the java class you created in JDev project is located in the myworks folder in jdev, eg, <jdev_home>\jdev\mywork\Application1\Project1\src\project1
Hope this helps,

Weblogic deploying an already deployed application!
Hi,
These are the following errors that I get. This is an already deployed application so not sure why weblogic deploys it again. This does not happen in all the machines.
Can someone tell me why it is doing this and how to make the application come up?
This is the error that I get when logging into the application:

I am having some trouble trying to adjust the deployment settings of our application in weblogic. I feel what I'm trying to do ought to be quite simple, but it's not working as expected.
I am just trying to override the context-root in weblogic.xml and the JNDI name for the data source, so these can both be configured at deployment time.
I have removed the application.xml from the ear file, so that shouldn't be affecting the overrides.
What I have so far:
weblogic.xml:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<weblogic-web-app xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app/1.2/weblogic-web-app.xsd">
<context-root>mosaic</context-root>
<resource-description>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/LogicalDS</res-ref-name>
<jndi-name>LogicalDS</jndi-name>
</resource-description>
web.xml
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

Nothing happens when I use the deployment plan, and neither of the variables appear under the Deployment Plan configuration screens in the admin console. From what I understand, I should at least be asked for these variables, since I have specified that they are null in the deployment plan.
When I use WLST to browse the tree, I find that the runtime configuration just stays as the values in the deployment descriptors.
I have verified the deployment plan is being used in the general tab of the admin console.
Can anyone help me find out what I am doing wrong here? If I don't create a data source called LogicalDS, I get errors about this, suggesting it is not correctly overriding. I am puzzled to why I do not see any variables to specify though..The documentation implies that this is not the case - see:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/web.1211/e24443/export.htm#autoId13
'Assigning Null Variables to Require Administrator Input'.
However, require administrator input where? My thoughts were that this option would appear in the admin console under 'deployment plan'. However, although I have specified resource dependencies in the deployment descriptors, and the plan, nothing appears under 'resource dependencies' for the application.
Is the only way to change the context-root deployment URL by actually manually editing an XML file?
To me that seems primitive and will cause us support issues when distributing our application - is there any other way I can enable the ability to specify the data source name and context-root through the web console prior to/during deployment?

1941W configuration help needed
Our Deployment Scenario:-
1941W Gigabit Ethernet 0/0 is connected to the PPOE connection of the ISP.
Gigabit Ethernet 0/1 is connected to the wired LAN
I have created 2 wireless radio Cisco_Kamran_BGN which is operating at 2.4 Ghz Devices and Cisco_Kamran_A which is operating at 5Ghz Devices.
I have created 2 VLans for the Wireless.
Vlan 10 for Cisco_Kamran_A 192.168.10.x
Vlan 11 for Cisco _Kamran_BGN 192.168.11.X
The problem is the Wireless users are not getting the IP address from the respective DHCP server which has been configured on the Router.
Can please any from the community help me and show me where I am missing the configuration.
Please find my router & ap configuration below.
