WebLogic Loops in Deploying Console

Something went wrong with WebLogic 6.0sp1.
I have Win2000 on a 600MHZ PC machine & 256M RAM.
When running, the CPU utilization keeps cycling from 100% to 0.
I disabled all Web apps and removed all services such as JMS to isolate the problem.
The problem persists. Now it seems to be deploying and undeploying the console.
See attached log segment below. Has anyone run into this problem or know what
is causing it?
Mike

Hi Mike,
After you installed WLS, did you re-set your machine's system time? check
the timestamp on your console.war file and your system time, and see if the
file's timestamp is later than the system time.
thanks

  • Weblogic 9.x admin console slowest and worst application ever

Does anyone else think the Weblogic 9.x admin console really sucks? Is there any place I can make improvement requests?
Things in Weblogic 8.x that took just a couple of minutes to accomplish routinely take a half-hour or more in the Weblogic 9.x console. I have recently discovered WLST and I have created a couple of scripts to script things I do quite often but quite honestly I don't have time to script everything I need to do in the console, especially since BEA should provide a usable admin console IMHO.
My specific complaints (not all inclusive as there is no way I could think of every annoyance I run into on a day to day basis):
    1) It is crazy slow. We use the ssh node manager so every time it loads a page I guess it polls every managed instance via ssh and page loads take a couple of minutes. For example, getting the next page of Deployments takes around 3 minutes.
    2) The deployment pagination is very annoying. Why is this limited to 10 deployments per page? This should just show me a list of all my deployments in alphabetical order. The pagination offers nothing. At the very least pagination length should be configurable. The pagination combined with problem 1 takes me many minutes to get to the app I need to do something with.
    3) If BEA insists on pagination on the deployments list at least give me a link so I can immediately jump to a specific page! The link should have the letter range of the deployments on that page (like A-C, D-V, W-Z, or something like that).
    4) After I stop an app it jumps back to page 1 instead of showing the page of deployments containing the app I just stopped. OMG!!! GRRR! Now I have to hit Next several times to get back to my app with 3 minutes between each page load. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!
    5) Why is there not a Redeploy button like there was in Weblogic 8.x? If I need to restart an application I have to go through the update procedure and not upload a new version. This is annoying, just give me a damn redeploy button.
    6) After clicking the Lock button I have to wait 2-3 minutes for it to give me the Lock. Why does it take this long?
    7) The whole locking mechanism is stupid. Why do I have to obtain a lock to make any changes? I never had a problem in Weblogic 8.x with walking on someone else. I can see how this could possibly be beneficial to some organizations (I suppose) so at the very least make obtaining the lock optional via configuration.
I am sure there are many more but I can't think of all of them now. I will start writing it down every time the console annoys the hell out of me. IMHO the Weblogic 9.x console broke the perfectly good Weblogic 8.x console.
It wouldn't be so annoying if it wasn't so MADDENINGLY SLOW.

We have upgraded our WebLogic from 8.1 to 9.2 along with our PeopleSoft 9.0 upgrade and boy-oh-boy, has the WebLogicAdmin console slowed down.
It used to open in about 10 seconds.
Now it opens in roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds.
The heap size settings are the same as they were in the WebLogic 8.1
Even restarting the WebLogicAdmin and associated PeopleSoft PIA's is the worst I have ever seen.

  • WebLogic 11g (JDeveloper11g) Deployment Configuration

    Hello,
I developed a Dashboard application using Fusion technology within JDeveloper 11g and Oracle Database Express 10g for not-for profit organization that will track all their global IT Assets. The application look great. I also completed configuration of Oracle WebLogic 11g and deploy the Application from EAR file.
    The Problem
After completing the deployment, the application work pretty well if the application is not removed from JDeveloper11g. Whe I decided to removed the application from JDeveloper 11g, I was not able to view the application when I run the WebLogic 11g Application Server.
The configuration deployment in Jdeveloper doesn't go to the process of configuring the following as it is done in Jdeveloper 11g handbook:
cannection name, connection type: weblogic, authentication, configuration, test, finish
The Solution I am looking for:
I am looking to configure the EAR file and remove the source code from the computer so I do not give out the source code. Is this possible with JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0? or do I need another version of JDeveloper?

    Hi
From JDeveloper IDE, you can deploy your application or project to any Application Server OR as an EAR or WAR file. Any web application can be deployed as WAR file. This war file will be created under deploy folder of your project within the project source folder. But if you have application and this has multiple projects, then at application level, you can choose deploy and select as EAR. This will create .EAR file under deploy folder of your application. This is how its done most of the times. During development, we deploy directly to the app server configured with JDeveloper. Later on to deploy to any other application server, you create .EAR or .WAR or .JAR from JDeveloper. Then deploy these modules on external appliacation servers. There is no need for your source code or any stuff.
    Thanks

    Hi..
You can use wlst or jmx to perform all security config etc.. same as if it were perfomred from the admin console..
    .e.g. wlst create user
    ..after connecting to admin server
    serverConfig()
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/AuthenticationProviders/DefaultAuthenticator")
    cmo.createUser("userName","Password","UserDesc")
    ..for adding/configuring a role
    cd("/SecurityConfiguration/your_domain_name/Realms/myrealm/RoleMappers/XACMLRoleMapper")
    cmo.createRole('','roleName', 'userName')
...see the mbean docs for all the different attributes, operations etc..
    ..Mark.

  • WebLogic Hosting to deploy Jdeveloper for testing

    Hello,
I have been searching for a WebLogic Hosting to deploy jdeveloper application for testing but couldn't find one with a low cost.
I will be getting a license soon to create a cloud for developer to test their products. If any one is interested in getting an account for demostrating their application, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] to put your name on the list.
Let other developer know who have been struggling to find a WebLogic Host for testing Jdeveloper products.
If you think this idea is helpful let me know and if you think is not a good idea let me know and tell me why?

    Hi,
Well Oracle public cloud is almost there cloud.oracle.com and one can use Amazon cloud service to host weblogic applications http://aws.amazon.com/solutions/global-solution-providers/oracle/ as well.

  • WebLogic 7.0sp4 - deploying EAR from 6.0 - Console Servlet causes OutOfMemoryError

I downloaded various copies of WebLogic. I'm trying to work with WebLogic 7.0sp4
on a Windows 2000 Server machine, but it's not working well at all. I have a very
simple set-up - one JDBC connection pool to an Oracle database, and one EAR file.
    This should work easily.
I have a WebLogic 6.0 produced EAR file. The EAR files contains about 110 Entity
BMP EJBs, about 35 Stateless Session EJBs, and 1 Stateful Session EJB, as well
as a collection of supporting Java classes.
WebLogic 6.0 imports the EAR and deploys the beans with no problem. AND after
deploying the beans, WebLogic 6.0 still lets you start a WebLogic Administrative
Console to interact with and manage the WebLogic server. WebLogic 6.0 doesn't
    seem to have any problems.
WebLogic 7.0 imports the EAR file, recompiles the beans, and deploys them. If
you DON'T start an admin console, then you can ping the server, ask the server
for its state, etc. - and everything seems fine. Once you start an admin console
and try to get to the login page of the admin console, THEN WebLogic 7.0 runs
    out of memory.
I've already bumped the minimum heapsize up to 350MB and maxsize to over 600MB.
The application never even uses more than 100MB of real memory before it crashes
with an out-of-memory error. Something about starting the admin console is crashing
the server. The console servlet runs out of memory. Why? Is there a separate setting
to increase the Heap Size used by the Console Servlet? I'm already using the "-Xms350m
-Xmx600m" options when starting WebLogic to set aside at least 350MB of heap space.
    I'm including:
    - log files
    - config.xml

    Rob,
Thanks! That solved the problem! Now I'm going to read http://java.sun.com/docs/hotspot/gc/index.html
    to find out why...

I suspect that you are hitting the JVM's MaxPermSize limitations.
Search on Sun's site or these newsgropus for -XX:MaxPermSize.
Let us know if this doesn't fix your problem.

I downloaded various copies of WebLogic. I'm trying to work with WebLogic7.0sp4
on a Windows 2000 Server machine, but it's not working well at all.I have a very
simple set-up - one JDBC connection pool to an Oracle database, andone EAR file.
    This should work easily.
I have a WebLogic 6.0 produced EAR file. The EAR files contains about110 Entity
BMP EJBs, about 35 Stateless Session EJBs, and 1 Stateful Session EJB,as well
as a collection of supporting Java classes.
WebLogic 6.0 imports the EAR and deploys the beans with no problem.AND after
deploying the beans, WebLogic 6.0 still lets you start a WebLogic Administrative
Console to interact with and manage the WebLogic server. WebLogic 6.0doesn't
    seem to have any problems.
WebLogic 7.0 imports the EAR file, recompiles the beans, and deploysthem. If
you DON'T start an admin console, then you can ping the server, askthe server
for its state, etc. - and everything seems fine. Once you start anadmin console
and try to get to the login page of the admin console, THEN WebLogic7.0 runs
    out of memory.
I've already bumped the minimum heapsize up to 350MB and maxsize toover 600MB.
The application never even uses more than 100MB of real memory beforeit crashes
with an out-of-memory error. Something about starting the admin consoleis crashing
the server. The console servlet runs out of memory. Why? Is there aseparate setting
to increase the Heap Size used by the Console Servlet? I'm alreadyusing the "-Xms350m
-Xmx600m" options when starting WebLogic to set aside at least 350MBof heap space.
    I'm including:
    - log files

  • WebLogic 10.3.2 console hangs when attempting configuration changes

    Hi,
    I am running:
    WebLogic 10.3.2
    Windows XP x86 64bit
    JRockit JVM 1.6.0
I have done a fresh install (twice) and whenever I start the main admin console and try to create a new server or deployment it just sits there and hangs. There are no other servers setup just the defualt AdminServer in development mode. The only other variable is that I have versions 9.2 & 10.3.0 of WL installed - in seperate home locations however so they should not conflict.

  • WebLogic Server EAR Deployment Queries!

    Hi All,
I have few queries with respect to EAR deployment in BEA WebLogic Server
    a) we have a requirement wherein we need to deploy the modified EAR file to one node in a cluster, whereas the other node will still continue to use the old EAR file. Is that possible in a production environment?
    b) we also have a requirement wherein we need to bring down the cluster and start the servers as independent servers instead of a clustered servers from command line without logging into the weblogic server console
    c) we have one more requirement wherein we have all the configuration xml files for each web application in a EAR File. We need a way to deploy the configuration xml file separately if there is a change only to the configuration xml file. Is that possible?
Also, we need to deploy a specific web application in a EAR file instead of re-creating the EAR again. Like an emergency release of one or more web application in a EAR.
    d) Is that possible to update the JAR file and WAR file dynamically which are deployed as part of the EAR file.
Any pointers to info source will be REALLY appreciated.
    Wiating for your reply.

  • Weblogic.deployer  and deployment order

    Good day all,
Is there a way to force an application to deploy last (because of dependencies)?
I know how to modify the deployment order in the console or wlst, but if all applications are in the same application directory, how can you make sure that appxyz.war deploys last?
    Thanks
    Ash

    Ashanty,
you may want to refer this link for deployment order of applications..
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e13952/taskhelp/deployment/ChangeTheServerDeploymentOrder.html
I don't think weblogic.deployer will allow you to do deployment order and it can be done through Administration console only.
    Thanks

  • Weblogic.Deployer using -deploy for existing application

    I'm running on weblogic 8.1 SP3
when I use -deploy for an existing application the documentation says it will do a redeploy.
documentation for the targets option says that it will use existing targets for an application that is currently deployed.
BUT it doesn't work. Is this a known issue ?
    I use the following options:
    -name fortune
    -source /data/bea81/applications/stg/fortune.ear
    -verbose -debug -deploy -stage

Check to see if the problem is with the Deployer tool or myApp.war:
    1) Does myApp.war deploy using the console?
    2) Check myApp.war has all the classes it needs?
If your app does deploy from the console then we can focus in on the Deploy tool. If not it may help give us a clue as to what is going on e.g. your war file missing classes.
