Weblogic user lost its Admin rights in Content Server

Hello,
I happened to change auth type for weblogic to Local. After logging in as weblogic, I couldnt see the Administration tab. This was the only user with admin privileges.
I tried logging in as sysadmin/idc, but i could not. Logging in as sysadmin/idc was working in 10g but in 11g it does not work.
Is there a way to get back the admin privileges foe weblogic user?. Please help as I cannot work without the Admin Utilities.
Regards,
Richa

Hi Richa ,
I did not update the sysadmin password.
update users set dpasswordencoding='' where dname like 'sysadmin';
update users set dpassword='idc' where dname like 'sysadmin';
Open SystemProperties.
Go to the “Database” tab.
Select Oracle Thin JDBC Driver.
JDBC Connection String = jdbc:oracle:thin:@hostname:1521:orcl
JDBC User Name = dev_urmserver (ucm schema user)
JDBC User Password = <pwd set>
This will let you access the standalone applets from /bin directory .
login with sysadmin/idc after launching user admin applet and then change the auth type for weblogic user to External from Local .
I did not update the weblogic password but did change its type from External to Local in Content Server.
Same as point above .
Unfortunately, I did not give admin rights to any of the accounts and so I cannot access the User Admin Applet.
Test after step 1 is completed .
I have installed UCM in my laptop running win7. Surprisingly, i cannot see Oracle Content Server in my start->All programs menu.
There will be no Content Server munu with UCM 11g . It will be the managed server under Weblogic that will be needed to start UCM.
Hope this helps .
Thanks
Srinath

Any one has an idea how to produce a list of users who has admins rights?

launch query builder from the admin launchpad
    enter this query
    select * from ci_systemobjects where si_parentid=19
this will give you a list of all the members of the administrators group.
You can experiment with query builder and possibly ask for help in the DEV forum if you need to write a more complex query.

  • Giving an OD Network User/Group local admin rights.

Is there a way to manage workstation admin rights from the server?
I ran into a problem with Lightroom that requires admin privileges to change the program preferences. We have alot of graphic art students with roaming profiles, spread out across 5 labs, that need to make this change. I would like to be able to add a group or all network users to the local admin group, for a few days, so the students can make the changes.

This works on 10.5, not sure about 10.6.
    As root on the client.

  • I want to give a user to read only rights on sql server agent 2008

I want to give a user to read only rights on sql server agent 2008.When I giving SQLAgentuser Role then user is only able to view SQL Server agent as Green but no job visible in job activity monitor.Currently he has db_reader rights on one user database.
    What rights should I give?
    Thanks

There are 3 SQL server Agent fixed database roles in sql server.
1.SQL AgentUSerRole:- To create and manage jobs
    2.SQLAgentReaderRole: To grant read acces.
3.SQLAgentOperatorRole : to run and delete jobs.
For you question you can create a user and grant him SQLAgentReaderRole.
    Example:
    Create LOGIN test with Password='abc'
    Use msdb;
    GO
Create User test for login test
    use msdb;
    EXECUTE sp_addrolemember @rolename='SQLAgentReaderRole',@membername='test'
    Hope this solves your problem!!!

  • How to get actual user name without admin rights from AD?

    Hi,
I have set up WebLogic Portal 8.1.2 to point to Active Directory, using ActiveDirectoryAuthenticatorMBean I'm trying to retrieve the actual user name e.g. John English. Can someone give me some advise what is the proper function to use. I tried getUserDescription but it requires AD admin rights. I can't get admin rights! Is there any workarounds?
    Thank you very much.

You might use GLOBAL_NAME, but the result could be not what you need. If you can login to DB server you can use "lsnrctl services" to see how the DB is registered with the listener. See this example :
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "TEST"
    SQL> select * from v$instance;
    select * from v$instance
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL> col GLOBAL_NAME for a60
    SQL> select * from global_name;

  • User with no admin rights can not  authenticate on wikis or blogs

I just set up my OD and proceeded to add users in the workgroup manager. I create an account for myself and gave it full admin rights under the privileges tab (in work group manager). I then created a test user account and gave it no privileges. My admin account can log on to wiki's and create blogs but my test account can not, It wont let me log in to any of the wiki's it's assigned to or set up a blog. I set the test account to have full privileges and then I was able to do these things.
I had this set up correctly before the 10.5.2 update came out and crashed my server, I had to re-install the OS and start from scratch again.
    Any thoughts on what's wrong?
    Thank You,

  • File Vault Useless when Other User Has Full Admin Rights?

    Question:
I'm about to send my MacBook Pro in for service. I've backed it up to a bootable clone, but I'd still rather not erase all my stuff, in case they send it back as-is (they do sometimes do that if they don't have to reinstall OSX).
So, I've given the guest user account full admin privileges on this machine and created it without a password so the AppleCare boys can do what they need to do.
My question is, is my account secure if it is password protected and encrypted with File Vault?
Or, if somebody was feeling malicious, couldn't they just reset the password for my account in the guest account preferences or create a new master password for the machine, since the guest account has full admin rights?
    Thanks for any quick answers!

    Hi bscepter;
If you are that paranoid about your data, the best
thing for you to do is to remove it off of the
machine before you send it in.
    Allan
I'm not "that paranoid" about my data. I was merely curious if File Vault would protect my data should somebody with another admin account want to access or delete it. I mentioned this in my initial post.
    But thanks, anyway.

  • Diffculty downloading JRE version if user has no admin rights on the box...

If you try to load in your own JRE version using the j2se tag in the JNLP file, and you don’t have Admin Rights on the computer, java webstart client will give you the following error:
The application has requested a version of the JRE (version xxxx) that currently is not locally installed. Java Web Start is unable to automatically download and install the requested version. This JRE must be installed manually.
The underlying reason for this, is because the user doesn’t have admin rights, the Java Control Panel->Advanced->JRE Autodownload option is set to Never AutoDownload, where as with a user with admin rights this option is set to Always AutoDownload. Once you switch this to Always AutoDownload, the JRE version is loaded correctly as specified by the j2se tag in the JNLP file.
Is there any way to set this option programmatically, or via the JNLP API? Any other suggestions on how this can be done?
    Thanks,

  • Deployment Software on user with no admin rights

    Hello,
We are using SCCM 2012 R2 and our environment machines are Windows 8.1 with no admin rights for all users.
We are trying to deploy some sprecific software but with no luck.
On the Deployment method we specify "Install for User" and what happens on User side is "Past due it will be retried".
If I modify my script and instead of /qn I use /qb I have the UAC control that pops up.
But from my understanding SCCM should install the software as system account.
How can we do to make it work?
    Thank You,
    Chris

    Hello,
I have already bypass my problem using the "install for system".
Creating 2 deployment method. One for the application (msi) "Install for system" and the second for the settings (cmd) "Install for User" and it works like a charm.
But there is no way for SSCM to elevate the privileges when installing an application with "Install for user" set?

  • I've lost the admin rights to my hard drive...?

All of a sudden I can no longer add/remove things on my HDD.  I have my OS on a SSD and I've been able to access everything just fine until yesterday...Is there any way to fix this without system restore?  I'd really rather not go through that
    headache...

Login with Admin account --> Browse to the HDD --> Goto Security tab, in properties --> Take ownership --> Once its complete --> add your ID to ACL and give full rights.

  • Uploads big lists to user tables without admin rights

I have an Oracle database which operates like follows:
    1) users upload lists of customers/regions/products in their tables using MS Access + ODBC connection (just copy-paste to open window with linked table)
    2) they press a button and Pass-thru query returns results based on step 1
Could I move this GUI to ApEx?
Step 2 is simple SQL Report, but how should step 1 be done?
Users should not be allowed to modify database structure, so standard 'upload from file/spreadsheet' is not a good idea..

Could you describe Step 1 in a little bit more detail? Do users paste a list of customers into a text box, click a button, and then see that list? Or are they using the text box as a filter to limit a larger list?
In any of these cases, it's quite possible that APEX will be able to handle this. But some more details would allow us to confirm that it actually can.
    Thanks,
    - Scott -

  • User Accounts in Domain Admins group do not have full administrative rights to the server

Our server was fine until recently one day we lost admin access for admin user accounts. If we log in to the server with the Domain Admin account, this account has full admin access to the server and can install and launch all programs and even all server
admin tools. If we log into the server with a user account which is in the Domain Admins group, that account cannot install software or launch Services.MSC. Even IE will not load any page and crash with a "Not Responding" Error.
The server has no viruses we even ran SFC /SCANNOW and it did repair from corrupted files but that didn't fix the issue.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Rick,
May be UAC is blocking installtion. Have it disabled and see if it helps.  Ensure you have domain admin groups added into local administrators group.

  • WebDAV only available to users with Homefolders and Admin rights?

    Dear Community,
I am having trouble to setup WebDAV on the lion Server. I am able to login as an Administrator as well as an OD user who has admin rights as well as a home folder. If a user is missing one of those two things then s/he is not able to login to WebDAV. Does anyone know how to give access to OD users who don't have a homefolder or at least don't have admin rights?
    Thanks already

Got it to go for about 300 student accounts and works for a no-home user if I define the sharepoints access for that user both in file sharing and in file permissions in Finder.
You should be able to set up a normal file share like a dropbox with the proper permissions, engage the webdav with the "share with iOS devices" and then be able to access it.
So for example, I created a folder on the server called Dropbox and gave it permissions for a certain group to access either in Finder or via CLI (you could use individual users also).  Then go into Server App, create a file share of Dropbox and enable "share with iOS devices". Ensure that the user has access on the file share too.
If you enter https://yourserver.com/webdav/ via your device (or your computer via finder / go / connect to server) and authenticate with the non-admin user, you should be presented with the shares that they have access to. I can also go https://yourserver.com/webdav/Dropbox/ to mount the dropbox directly.
I have found that sometimes you need to restart web on Server app (or sometimes the whole server) on the server to show the new "share" in its current configuration.  You should also see your shares listed at /etc/apache2/httpd_webdavsharing_sharepoints.conf or /etc/apache2/webdav_sharepoints.conf.
    Hope this helps

  • Too many different admin rights, user preferred

    Hello,
I have after migrating to my new Mac, 5 accounts, almost all with admin right now.
Two migrations, the second one done with admin rights, doubled the number of accounts...
I want to keep all accounts, that is ok - I use only one as main, with my first admin account on my old Mac, being left as "history".
Now I need to get help with
How to put all admin rights more normal than now, when I've got:
staff, admin, system, and three different user accounts with admin rights.
I had to give them admin rights in order to get Mail migration done, this worked ok when I did the second migration, and got more accounts..
I want to get advice on what type of model/principle to aim for, for the admin rights all over the file system,
I would love to have the rights as simple as possible, no special entries for all the above admin accounts.
So, should I use my main admin account, which was the main account on my last Mac, and have
my currently used account (with admin rights), reworked as a User account, just to be more safe,
although Mac security seems to be improving.
I am very unsure of how much I have to rework the rights on things in my whole file system,
in order to normally be able to run using only a normal user account, with no admin rights.
Things seem to work ok, now when everything is admin, but I'm afraid that I'll get many Apps
starting to have trouble if I don't have rights set smartly.
Thanks for any ideas about how to do this using as few principles as possible!
    Thanks,
    /groundliner

I think it would be far to messy to do things over, since I've used the new setup for two month or so. I have, after the migration, evacuated the internal Macintosh HD's contents with 5 accounts, to my new external SSD.
And it is of course not so easy to return to what the internal, dimounted partition contains, now a few weeks afterwards. And then I've had Mail and everything running for a month before that, after the messy migration. A problem also is that my Time Machine volume would get crowded with everything on the one drive. After all this...
Installing a new system with recovery mode, was what I did when I did the second migration. But that whole adventure scared me a bit also, that I have to plan things before doing anything. I did not. I did not either know that my Snow Leopard partition had to go. (I bought a few new Upgraded Apps).
One further problem I have, is that my Migration was done from my Time Machine volume, and now I have two, three Western Digital HDs, and they are hardware encrypted, so they had to be unlocked before I could do any Migration. I felt that I had to plan that, but it just got done a bit too fast. Also, I had trouble Importing all my mail into Mail, so Apple support recommended me to do a migration again using an Admin account. - So I got too many accounts, and it's no big hurry to clean out the somewhat doubled folders. (And I own "Spring Cleaning", so I can somewhat easily compare which folders are identical between the doubled accounts.)
With your method I agree that I maybe could succeed getting a copy on my machine of everything on the old one. And eliminating things, I was pretty satisfied with having not copies of very much on the old one. That mess was the result of two Migrations. And that I accidentally, after the second Migration, got Time Machine starting suddenly - so I have backups that are unnecessary with intermediate results.
Thanks, I'll look at the Setup New Mac guide.
The sorting out of permissions is maybe only neccessary to do on the folders in Users/* and the like.
And then I'll not touch the permissions for system, (but wheel have I not yet seen on the Mac).
I know that I have added rights for administrators here and there, but I strongly suspect I only did that on the top levels. Also, some of my migration problems had to do with evacuating my main (Admin) account on my old Mac - I got tired of a messy account, and did some cleaning out and moved User data to a new (user) account. Apple support told me how to do some of the transferring, like moving Mail files and other stuff.
    Thanks anyway!
