WebService to File Scenario

Hi All,
I am doing WebService to File Scenario.
Here I am facing problem when I am sending request .
It is saying
" http error.Could not post file"
I have given the url as
http://<server>.domain:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_SOAP2FILE:CC_SOAP2FILE_SENDER
Can anyone suggest me why is this coming.
I searched for SDN and changed the address location in wsdl file to above url.
but still it is coming.
I checked the url in browser .It is saying "Message Servlet is in Status OK ......."
Any kind of tips or suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks
Rabi

Hi,
I agree with Ganesh. Try to use SOAP UI to call your service URL to see if it's working.
You can find a tool called TCPGateway in the attachment section of the SOAP Adapter FAQ note 856597. Please see tcpgw.zip for more details. Use it on Client side to see the complete HTTP response from PI for more info. If it does not help, try to compare your HTTP request and request generated by SOAP UI if they are created the same way. Especially HTTP header parameters like Content-Type.
Let us know if you find the problem.

HI Everyone,
Can i develop a webservice using .net platform for a file to file scenario using XI. How do i proceed.
I know how to configure file to file scenario using XI, but how shd i replicate the same scenario as webservice.
Any valueable inputs would be appreciated.

Hi,
I hope the below blog's scenario is similar to your requirement.
and here the RFC should be replaced by the Webservice for your requirement.

• Web service to File scenario

hello experts
I would like to know how to configure WS to File Scenario.
(if possible all the steps will be appreciated)
thanks
Kfir

Hi kfir goldwasser,
Here is a scenario i'm explaining webservices(SOAP) to file scenario step by step:
SENDER SOAP ADAPTER: The sender SOAP adapter is basically used to send content from remote clients or Web service servers to the XI.
To do the end to end scenario let us consider a simple scenario
IR:
1. source data type
2.target data type
3.MT for Both
4.Message interface for both
5.message mapping
6.interface mapping
ID:
1)Define Serder Comunication channel type SOAP.
in DEFAULT XI PARAMETER you must put Message interface and Namespace of serder structure defined in IR
2) Define Receiver Communication channel.
3)define Receiver Determination
3)define Interface Determination
4)Define Sender agreement
5) Define Receiver Agreemen.
6)Active your changes.
DEFINE WEB SERVICE:
7)go to tool>enviroment>define Web services and put this string
http://<Host>:<Port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:<Bussines_System>:<Communication Channel>.
Example: http://srv-xi01-adm:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:SCR_D:scr_d_soap_customer_sender
8)next step select MI of list
9)en next step you must define your sender BS and Message Interface.
10) Save Web service.
Test ur service with for example XML-Spy
Steps to make a request using the XML SPY:
1. Open the XML SPY, in the menu go to SOAP  Create new SOAP request
2.it will open a new window you will provide the path wsdl file that you have recently save .
3.Click on OK button a new window will be opened which shows the SOAP request
4.In the menu choose SOAP  Send request to server
5.Asynchronous Request: If your request is successful you will receive a SOAP response which will be empty response in an asynchronous request .
to configure file receiver adapter take in mind these blogs

Plz Do check the following blog:

• Error in File to File scenario

Hi All,
im trying out the file to file scenario [binary file using file content conversion]from SDN Wiki:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/xi/main&
On the runtime workbench, adapter engine is in red/error status due to error in the receiver comunication channel.
The sender communication channel is working fine. During testing, my file is being picked up and deleted(processing mode set to delete).
I am able to see the msgs in sxmb_moni and in Message Monitoring, the status is delivered.
However, the receiver channel does not show any error msgs at all.
Yday when i tested , i got the foll error msg:
Conversion initialization failed: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found: Parameter 'EMP.Contacts.fieldFixedLengths' or 'EMP.Contacts.fieldSeparator' is missing
However tdy i dont see any new error msgs during testing (no changes made to the recvr channel).
Given that the sender communication channel is wrking, can i safely assume that file adapter is wrking fine. If not, how do i check the status of the file adapter [in RWB, i can see the file adapter and various other adapters(with a grey diamond icon next to them). how do i interpret the status of the adapter?
Would really appreciate if anyone can advice on how to troubleshoot this?
Many thanx!
cheers
Prachi
I hv tried doing a full cpa cache refresh.

Hello Prachi ,
I thinks its because of receiver File Processing Parameters,as you are considering here File Content Conversion.
If your structure is like this
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns1:Proveedor_100011 xmlns:ns1="http://sap.com/xi/webservices/buyordint">
<config>
<directory>c:/tmp</directory>
<filename>dynamicFile3.txt</filename>
</config>
<root>
<string>Header;423423</string>
<lines>
<value>LINE;</value>
</lines>
</root>
</ns1:Proveedor_100011>
Then your content conversion is -
RecordSet Structure: config,root
root.fieldSeparator = ;
root.endSeparator = 'nl'
config.fieldFixedLenghts = 0
config.fixedLenghtTooShortHandling = CUT

hi,
When you have used the WSDL wizard in the Integration Directory and have clicked on "Propose URL" in the second screen, did you ever wonder, why the URL does not point to a sender SOAP adapter channel, it is the URL of the Integration Server instead?
When you want to use the inbound channel of the Integration Server, you have to use following URL for the web service client:
http://<server>:<ABAP-port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<YourService>&Interface=<YourNamespace>%5E<YourInterface>
The namespace must be written with escaped characters. (%5E stands for "^")
Note: The WSDL wizard creates an address with the escape sequence & instead of &. Some SOAP clients (for example XPLSpy) do not automatically restore the character and you have to do this manually.
By default the SOAP call is treated as a synchronous call. If you want an asynchronous call, you have to add &QualityOfService=ExactlyOnce to the URL.
Additionally your web service client must provide the HTTP header parameter "SOAP action" = http://sap.com/xi/WebService/soap1.1
The Web Service Wizard of the Integration Repository creates a WSDL concerning this URL and this SOAP action automatically. Only for asynchronous calls you need to change the URL inside the WSDL file with an editor and add &QualityOfService=ExactlyOnce.
Advantage
When you send SOAP messages directly to the Integration Server, you reduce the message load on the adapter engine. This can improve the performance.
Restrictions
The SOAP inbound channel of the Integration Server does not support attachments. SOAP messages with content type "multipart" are rejected.
Hint
For testing purpose it is possible to add logon data directly to the URL. The parameters are the same as in the HTTP sender adapter: &sap-user=<username>&sap-password=<password>

• HOW TO TEST SOAP SENDER TO FILE SCENARIO

Hi gurus,
I have designed and configured SOAP to file scenario.
I have used http://xyz namespace in design time.
I have created two business systems for this sceanrio.
I have downloaded and installed soap client on my system.
When I open this soap client it is asking
1)URL
2)load request from
3)In the editor request tab what should i give.
4)wht is the response tab here
I want to send data to XI from SOAP and then to file.
Please help how to give data and how to get the data format to give in the requst editor?
Points will B rewarded
Regards
Sreeni

Hi,
You can use a SOAP client like Altova XML spy for posting a message to XI.
The best way to do this is to use the generated wsdl for creating a soap request.
once the wsdl file is picked up by the soap client, it automatically generates the url.
now the response which comes back to the soap client is usually a http status code of successful post. (since u r performing an async scenario)
also ensure u use the j2ee port while genrating the wsdl using the "Create Webservice" option in Int Directory.
Also chk the link for the weblog on sender soap scenario.

• Webservice to RFC scenario

Hi
In the webservice to RFC scenario i am trying to create a webservice from the tools->define webservice option. the system takes to me a webservice creaton wizard and it asks for the Integration Server SOAP inbound channel URL I know that the syntax of the URL is like shown below.
http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel
How do I know what is the host and port of the system??
Also we need java knowledge to excel in XI. I want to know to what extent we need to learn Java to be able to excel in XI. Is there any blog or link which discuss about this?
thanks,
sankar

Hi,
TCODE: SXMB_IFR
Then you'll see then server, port .
Also:
SMICM -> goto -> services
Java basic knowledge is required where u can able to write the user defined function in graphical mapping,
but sometime the requirement is not fullfilled then u need to to go for advance java for writing a java mapping or adapter module program.
We use ABAP Proxies in case of we are dealing with the ABAP Based Applications
We use JAVA Proxies in case of we are dealing with the JAVA based application
in SAP XI We have two ways of connectivity
1) adapter
2)proxy
in applications based on WAS 6.20 or above we can directly communicate to XI through Proxies
while application based on below WAS 6.20 you have to use adaptyer to communicate to XI
proxies seperate business application logic from the integration logic of integration logic
proxy generation converts non language specific interface description in WSDL into executable interface
Java proxy is generated from the WSDL description opf interface and this is generated as a JAR file in IR
while ABAP proxy is generated by transaction SPROXY
on Application server based on WSDL description of message interface
PROXIES have same mode and direction as Interfaces have
To learn Java you should know only basic concepts of java means you must have basic java programmin skill
Java proxy can be generated through wizard also this is an inbuild functionality of SAP XI
to lear java follow this link
java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
To learn ABAP you should know beginner level ABAP4GL
ABAP is very simple language and coding is like that you are writing simple english sentence so you would be feeling comfortable withABAP with a little practice
GO to T CODE se24 and start developing
learn ABAP with this link

• How To Develop a Simple WebService App XI Scenarios

Hi,
How can I develop A simple Webservice for any scenario, for example, if am doing File to file scenario, and i want to develop a Webservice for the same scenario,
I think in ID we have an option Under Tools "Define Webservice" where in we can use wsdl format of the message interfaces.
How should i proceed to develop the Webservice?
Regards,
Varun

Hi Varun,
After creating the wsdl file u can deploy using MS visual studio.
Follow the steps and run the scenario.
use it in a Client Program in .NET : (assuming Maths as the WSDL and Webserice name)
1.) Place maths.wsdl in C:/Sample/ folder
2.) Open Visual studio command prompt using the Start Menu
Start->Programs->Microsoft Visual Studio 2005->Visual Studio Tools->Visual Studio 2005 Command Prompt
3.) In the Command prompt go to that directory
> C:
> CD\
> CD Sample
> wsdl maths.wsdl /out:"c:\sample"
4.) The previous step will create a file called Maths.cs , go to that folder and confirm this
5.) Open Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, open the Client application where this webservice needs to be called
6.) If your Client application is a web application, the see if the website has a folder called "App_Code"
If not then create this folder. Right Click on this folder and click on "Add Existing Item"
7.) Browse to C:/sample and select the Maths.cs file
8.) If your client is a Desktop application , just add this file in a similar manner to the project(no need of creating any folder)
9.) After the file gets added, open Maths.cs file
10.) Add a namespace to it for convinience
eg:
namespace SAP
This should come before the Class Declaration and close it after the class
eg: See the red lines
namespace SAP
/// <remarks/>
[System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("wsdl", "2.0.50727.42")]
[System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()]
[System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")]
[System.Web.Services.WebServiceBindingAttribute(Name = "Equi_get_NotifBinding", Namespace = "http://Equipment_Get_Notifications")]
public partial class Equi_get_NotifService : System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol
functions....
11.) Save the Maths.cs file
12.) Open the Webform or windows form code where this webserive will be called
13.) The webservice will now be available here under the SAP namespace
so when u type "SAP." u will get all the classes in it.
Add credential in this code as shown below
eg:
private void GetNotifications()
try
SAP.Equi_get_NotifService ser1 = new SAP.Equi_get_NotifService();       //This is the Webserive Proxy class
SAP.Equi_get_Notif_Request req = new SAP.Equi_get_Notif_Request();      //Request Class
req.Equipment = SAPID;
req.Date = Calendar1.SelectedDate;
System.Net.CredentialCache ch = new System.Net.CredentialCache(); //Adding Credentials for authentication on webservice server
System.Net.NetworkCredential cr = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("xisuper", "infotech");
ch.Add(new Uri(ser1.Url), "Basic", cr);
ser1.Credentials = ch; // Assing this Credential to the ProxyClass.Credentials property as shown here
SAP.Equi_get_Notif_ResponseNotifications[] res = ser1.Equi_get_Notif(req); //Call the webservice, res is the responce object
GridView1.DataSource = res;
GridView1.DataBind();
catch (Exception ex)
Response.Write(ex.Message);
