Website goes blank

Using Internet Explorer, I am able to access the website rci.com, but when I get to a certain point, after logging in, the page I am looking for appears for a split second, then goes to white, and I can go no further. This does not happen on my daughter's Dell on the same website. This also does not happen on any other website.Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Help would be much appreciated.

Hi,
Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Obviously, I can't log in to really test it, but I'd say your problem is due to either a bug in the Javascript on that page or even more likely, a bug in Internet Explorer's Javascript interpreter. Microsoft hasn't updated IE for the Mac in years, and don't even offer it for download any more.
I remember problems with IE just like yours where websites would appear then just go blank, so it's not really surprising you'd find this. In fact, it's more surprising to me that this is the only website where you've seen it.
The best suggestion I can make is to find a new, more modern browser. Safari comes with OS X and is fast, and has its fans. I also like Camino, which is based on the Mozilla browser. There's also Mozilla and Firefox. Finally, this page has a bunch of other browsers listed for the Mac. Any recent one of those should be a much better choice for you than Internet Explorer.
best,
charlie

  • Website goes blank when press button

    Hi
I'm more of a motion graphic designer than a web designer so
don't know too much about the technical side of things when it
    comes to the web.
I have recently built a website which can be viewed at
    www.birdmancreative.co.uk
On some computers it works fine but the majority of times
when you first view it and click a button the site goes black. Then
if you hit refresh it will works fine. It's as if there is a bug in
there but i don't know what I'm looking for.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Adam

Something you are doing is not browser friendly. It worked
fine for me in IE7, but did just what you said when I tried it in
    Firefox.
Are you using any Javascript? It seems like the problem is
not with the flash file itself, but with the way it is being called
    into the browser/html.

  • Whenever I try to open a new tab, the tab just goes blank and says "New tab". I can't open any websites. What do I do?

It started very suddenly. The tab just went blank when I tried to open a new one, and then just continued every time I open a new tab. It loads the selected website for a milisecond, and then just goes blank and says "New tab". In my own language of course. I tried reinstalling, rebooting and nothing seems to do it. I have Tab Mix Plus as a tab manager.
What can I do? Please help.

That did the trick. But I had to start Firefox in safe mode, because it just went to the blank page where the Troubleshooting page should have been, of course. Thanks for the help anyway. Now I just need to get my old addons back.

  • Website loads, then goes blank and says loading forever

  • Website loads then screen goes blank

When I access a certain website (eyetube.net), the website loads and displays for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes blank.  All software has been updated and Java latest version has been updated.

Seems to work fine here, but it's possible that the Flash-based ads on the site are causing the problem for you.  Try installing ClickToFlash, which will block all Flash content unless you choose to load it, and see if that fixes it.

  • [Solved] GS60 - Windows 8 - Screen Goes Blank But Sound Continues

Typically about 1-2 seconds after the windows signup screen, the screen goes blank but you can still hear beeps of the pc loading. Then, only sometimes, white lines flash horizontally across the screen.  My only choice at this point is to do a hard shutdown. The "MSI" logo pops up on reboot and process continues. Eventually (like after 5-10 mins. and several restarts/shutdowns from the windows login screen), the screen will work again. The screen will continue working for hours uninterrupted but may encounter the same issue. Then, it takes 5-10 mins to get the screen operational again!
    Bios is latest version .106

    Hey lbman14,
Try updating your VBIOS if yours are not 80.04.EF.00.21, and use the latest graphics driver from MSI website first.

  • Youtube goes blank on my imac

When I open Safari on my iMac, and go to youtube.com the Safari window goes blank, and will not load the website.  It used to work, but hasn't for about a week now.

Updating Flash did not help.  I have noticed that on other profiles on this computer YouTube works just fine.  Is there a way to reinstall Safari?

  • Windows goes blank

When I plug in my nano ipod to my system (Windows XP) the system tells me that it has found new hardware and then the screen goes blank and the conputer won't come back on, I then have to unplug my ipod and restart my computer by the on/off switch can't find anything in troubleshooting in the manual that adresses this problem and I haven't come across any discussion that adresses it as of the present time. Hope someone out there can help me.
hope some one out there can help me.

Hope someone can help, my iPod hasn't been working for over a month now!!!
    The Facts
Around late December, I got a message on my computer that I needed to update iTunes, so I downloaded the new version. Around the same time, I also went through and deleted a few programs off my computer because I thought they were spyware programs. It only became clear later that they might have been important - the audio on my computer stopped working, and then I had to go back and download some of those programs to get it to work again. It's possible I deleted something off my computer related to iTunes/iPod, but if so, they weren't labelled as such. Everything else on my computer works.
My iPod is a first-generation nano. I have had it for two and a half years now, and this is the first time I've had any problems with it. It works fine when it is plugged into a battery charger on a power outlet in the wall, but when I connect it to the USB cord and then attach that to my laptop, a message appears saying, "USB device not recognized: One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." At first, I thought it might have been just the USB cord, so I bought another one but that didn't work either. When I connect my iPod, it does not appear in either My Computer or iTunes, and there is no syncing. Unlike before, iTunes does not automatically open when the iPod is connected.
I have tried the Device Manager (uninstall, update driver, etc.) actions. They did not work. I also tried reinstalling the latest version of iTunes. This also did not work. The message appears regardless of which USB port the cord is plugged into, and other devices that plug into the USB ports (such as my printer cord and my flash drive) work perfectly. I also went through the "5 R's" several times, and none of those steps worked.
A friend told me that I should reinstall iTunes/iPod software using the CD that came with the iPod, but I no longer have that CD. Anyone know if that software is offered somewhere either on this website or somewhere else on the web?
Following are the details about my computer/iTunes version/iPod version:
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
iTunes 7.6.0.29 (this is the new version of iTunes I installed)
    iPod version 1.3
Anyone have any ideas?? I'm really desperate now.

  • Safari Goes Blank

My macbook is having major issues with the safari screen turning white (going blank).  It happens constantly.  Regardless of the number or type of websites being accessed.  It freezes and I have to "force quit".  How can this be fixed?

    Hi...
Try emptying the cache and reset.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that didn't help, back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari
Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
If that didn't help, from the menu bar again, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
tried to reinstall but same issue occured
In case you are not aware, running v10.7 Lion, the only way to reinstall apps is to use Lion Recovery
Just re downloading Safari from the Apple suport page won't work.

  • Screen goes blank for a fraction of a second

    hi all,
i just got a macbook pro two weeks ago. I am pretty satisfied with this laptop but since its my first mac experience and i am expecting mac's to be perfect there are a couple of things ( may be minor) that are bothering me.
first is, while working on my mac i have noticed the screen goes blank for a fraction of a second.
second, i have mighty mouse but at times it stops working as well, in the bluetooth menu it shows that my mouse is connected but it won't work, so then i have to disconnect it and connect it back again.
should i take my macbook to apple store or what
    any suggestion would be appreciated.
    thanks

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

I just recently bought IPAD2....Whenever i inserted my microsim into sim tray, the screen goes blank with only apple logo to show...It does not start till i remove the sim and press both Home and Power buttons simulataneously...Can somebody help what shall i do????

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Problem with JFrame, it goes blank

My problem is with JFrame, when it's carrying operation which takes a bit of time, if somethhing goes on
top of the frame the frame goes blank, all the components vanished and when the operation is completed the components bacome visible. I dont know why this is happening,. The code is below, since my code is very complicated I am sending some code whcih shows the problem I have, when you press the button it execute's a for loop, whcih takes some time. If you minimize the frame and maximize again, you'll see what I mean.

    public static void main(String [] args){
    Frame1 frame=new Frame1();
    frame.show();
    }

The reason this is happening is because your loop is so intensive that your program doesn't have time to refresh its JFrame. There is no great way to get past this stumbling block without decreasing the efficiency of your code. One possible solution is to call repaint() from within your loop, but of course this slows down your loop.
    Hope that helps
