Website is inactive, please help

www.thebeautyseeker.com
my membership expired today, I been trying to renew it since the outage and should have done it earlier but had no idea things were going to be down, now it keeps declining my CC and my site is 'inactive'.
the funny part is that tech support gave me .mac links to renew my site even though it wasn't working on wednesday.
is there another place to put an iweb made site? please advise, I am so frustrated right now and need my site back up asap. I am not a web designer, hence the use of iweb and .mac to host it. i'm just a photographer in the middle of a clusterf*.
help.

Yes. I see you have a domain name. Do you have a hosting package with your domain name? If so, then you can upload your site to your web space no problem. Just go to iWeb and publish to a folder and then upload to your web space using an ftp program such as Fetch or Cyberduck.
You should notice a difference in speed of upload if you do this. It will be a lot quicker to load in comparison to .Mac speeds. I did this for the first time yesterday with my site. Glad I did, because for a lot of yesterday my site was unavailable also Google Maps too.

  • I get message when attempting to access many websites - unrusted connection, please help

I have been accessing many websites via firefox for many years, but over the past3-4 days I have been receiving the message - untrusted website, with the technical details informing me that www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate because no issuer chain was provided. I have uninstalled firefox 31, and replaced it with No:30, but it has made no difference because the problem still persists in this version as well. I have tried going through chrome and yahoo to those same sites but I experience very slow dial up type speeds in pages both loading and opening through those other browsers, and I am now feeling very frustrated in going onto the net at all presently, and I've just upgraded my data usage through my provider www.slingshot.co.nz from 40 to 80 gigs per month, but this is now also feeling like a lost cause as well. I am hoping someone at firefox may be able to help resolve this very troublesome issue, although I have also read some other stories contributed on this same matter, but I do not know if they were ever resolved either. Please help because I am now at my wits end upon it and have nothing else able to do, including what to do with the trouble shooter I downloaded at your suggestion from firefox - Thankyou.

Meanwhile, assuming the worst (malware), here are some suggestions for clean up.
Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
In particular, be on the lookout for Browser Safeguard (or similar name) or Sendori.
Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Finally, you can "mop up" remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools suggested in this support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
    Any change?

  • QT 7.1.5 won't recognize website QT files - PLEASE HELP

Ever since QT 7.1.5, none of my browsers can display nor play website QT files - all I see in their place is the QT logo with a ? within. Apple denies any responsibility & states that unsupported browser people need to make it work. Sites such as accuweather.com; Veoh.com; YouTube.....virtually all sites are now useless to me. Can anyone please help with this issue?

As I recall, the problem went away with subsequent releases of QT.

  • Can't access certain websites...Please Help!

Since my upgrade to Leopard, I can no longer access Versiontracker.com or Macfixit.com
I've checked the firewall and i don't see anything that would restrict access to these sites.
When i type versiontracker.com into my brower it just spins forever. Other sites are fine, but so far only these two don't work.
    Please help. Thanks!

As a workaround you can just use FireFox. It's been my main browser for years and works on every site I feed it. Safari has had many issues with many sites, especially secure sites, and I just got tired of Apple not dealing with the issues, the lack of extensibility and no real innovation. All of the FireFox extensions that I've tried, even if developed by windows programmers, work on the Mac version.
To be fair, Mozilla only has to make the browser work, not the iPhone.

  • Cross-Browser (BASIC Functionality) Issue - Need to boot to Windows in parallels to use the websites I need - PLEASE HELP!

    Hey Everyone,
Let me lead with my system specs. If you need more info, please let me know and I'll be happy to supply them. I'll be sitting by my computer all night, glaring at my Snow Leopard Install Discs and hoping that you guys don't say that the only thing left to do is a clean install of SL, then re-upgrade to lion.
So, a few months ago, I noticed that certain components on websites wouldn't work. They would be pretty basic - simple buttons at first. Then certain submission forms wouldn't process. Then, recently, there has been a complete loss of video playback on certain websites. And the final straw, the Vuze software update button will not click through.
In order to work around these browser break downs, I've had to launch Linux/Windows 7 or 8 (depending on wether or not I wanted to make myself even MORE frustrated by using metro) to do my web browsing.
Here are a few examples. Again - ALL these websites work in other operating systems.
    Groupon - via http://www.groupon.com/subscriptions/new?division_p=philadelphia
The "Continue" button does not function. It will depress on click, and highlights on mouseover, but it will not lead to the next page.
    A Picture is Below.
    Math Warehouse - via http://www.mathwarehouse.com/quadratic/quadratic-formula-calculator.php
This site houses a calculator for the quadratic formula and other nerd tools - but essentially, just a standard forms with fields. Clicking the "Solve the Quadratic Equation" button does not work. In fact, in this case, mousing over causes the pointer to turn into a text curser.
    Picture below.
    Vuze - Internal App
Clicking this button does nothing. Nothing at all.
I've posted a similar thread when this first happened, where I included activity monitor and consol logs, but no one could make heads or tales of them. one guy even said there was nothing wrong.
i know steve jobs said that macs were the best hardware around for running windows. I don't think that this is what he meant.
Any and all help, is really, really appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Bernie

  • Not able to connect to website using Wizard, please help!

    Hello All,
I've been trying to connect to an existing website using the Connection Wizard, but I keep getting the "Your Secure FTP (SFTP) username or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information." I am able to connect to the site using WinSCP so I know my information is correct, and I sure I'm entering the data correct so I have no idea what the problem is. I do have a @ as one of my characters of my password, maybe Contribute has an issue with special chars in the password. Does anyone know if this is true or what the resolution maybe?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -L

When I have received that error, it was because the FTP user account permissions were too restrictive for Contribute.  At least with standard FTP, the user accounts needed to have access to all folders within our website.  Once that was changed, they were able to connect using the wizard.
    I hope that helps.

  • Preview in Browser and Adobe Browser Lab show website differently? Please help

Hi...working on my first website and I have a question about the differences in viewing the site through
    choosing file...preview in browser....
from within Dreamweaver, and using the Adobe Browser Lab to view the website.
There seems to be a very significant difference between the two. When I preview firefox from within dreamweaver, my site is just how I want it.
When I go to browser lab, it is...well... a disaster.
I'm attaching screenshots of the two as well as my code, so it can show how different they are. Here is a screenshot of the website as it looks when I use the preview in browser function from within dreamweaver to view it in firefox. This is how I'd like it to look.
And here is a screenshot of what it looks like when I preview it in Adobe Browser Lab in Firefox.
The quote is underneath the logo, the left div text is flowing over the center div, the nav bar graphics are too narrow, the photo is hanging outside the div it should be contained in. Not what I want.
Does anyone have any insight into how I would fix this or which version is correct?
I'm stumped. This is my first website: shouldn't these two things be similar? And which one is correct?
    and here is my code:

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    Thanks for your help.

You are using % widths for your layout which means it will look different depending of the size of each users monitor. Although this is probably the better way to go these days, it is not one size fits all and will work more effectively if you include min and max widths, and also media queries that change your layout depending on the monitor size. This is more advanced coding and will take time if you want to do that. Alternatively, you could design using pixel widths and have it look consistent across all desktop browsers and throw a few media queries in for the mobile side.

  • Pdf pop up on Parcel Force website is blank - please help

    Hi,
The problem described above only happens on the Parcel Force website.  The pdf generates customised labels that I print off and attach to parcels.
I have done everything described in the link below with no success:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/cant-view-pdf-web.html.
My computer uses Adobe Reader version 10.1.4, Internet Explorer 9, Windows 7 64 bit.  I have gone back to earlier versions of IE & reader with no success.  I have also updated Javascript.
I have enabled the 'Display a notification about every script error' in Internet Options - Advanced tab and receive the following error:
Message: The value of the property 'VBgetAcrobat' is null or undefined, not a Function object
    URI: https://www.parcelforce.net/ship_data.epl
I have been in contact with the technical team at parcelforce and not got anyway with them.
I previously was able to use this feature of Parcel Force with no problem.  I can only think this problem arose when I uninstalled an antivirus programme.
Would be very grateful if somebody out there understands what the problem is and knows how to fix it.

    Thank you for your reply

I see problems with Internet Explorer and online PDF documents every day in this forum.  I do not know where all these problems come from.
If I were to experience such problems, I would try
update Adobe Reader to 10.1.5 or 11.0.1
use a different browser, e.g. Firefox
download the PDF to the local disk and open it from there
P.S. also make sure that you don't use the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer; the Adobe Reader add-on only works on 32-bit browsers.
    However:
Parcel Force has advised me that 10.1.4 works best (have already tried 11.0.1)
    Firefox does not work either
Cannot download this type of pdf (the way it works on Parcel Force's website)
I am using the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer
I have also reduced the security on IE and enabled all scripting (Internet Options - Security - Custom Level - Scripting).
I have changed the settings in Adobe Reader (Edit - Preferences - Internet) and unticked 'Display PDF in browser' 'Allow fast web view' as advised by Parcel Force.  And 'updated reader installation'
    I'm baffled with this problem

Just as of late I noticed that Apple Stores are selling security cameras that work with their app on an iPhone. Very expensive but it uses both WiFi when local and cellular when not at home.
In your case I would check the apple store and see if there is a free or paid app to access your home closed circuit TV system. The cameras have to have their own ip address so you then need only enter that and access will be available to you. But they must be on your home network.
a lot of the higher end CCTV systems have a free app that can be used like the new Apple Security system.
Just Google it or check the store.
    Good Luck

  • IWeb Will not replace old website!  Please help!

I'm trying to replace an old website that was designed with Frontpage, with a new one designed with IWeb09. Every time I try to publish the new site, it publishes it to a subfolder. I read a few of the discussions, downloaded cyberduck, and deleted the old website files, but now I just get a blank page.
    Please help! Any ideas?

Well, yes, iWeb will publish to a sub folder called your Site folder, which will have the same name as you named your site within iWeb - this is what it is supposed to do and always will.
What you need to do is use Cyberduck and connect with your server and delete what was there previously and then, when you upload your new iWeb site, just upload the contents of your Site folder rather than the whole folder itself and then your url will be http://www.domain.com/pagename.
Just be aware that if you are using any RSS feeds, uploading your site in this way will make them inactive.
The other way to do it is to upload your whole site folder to your server's public_html file or wherever you have to upload to and then you get your separate index.html file and place this outside your public_html folder pointing in. Your RSS feeds will then work, however, your url will then be http://www.domain.com/sitename/page name.
    The choice is yours.

  • Banned from a website. Need to use for work. Please help.

I was recently banned from a website. I didn't do anything wrong and they won't tell me why I have been banned. My husband had an account on the website and as soon as they closed my account, they also closed his. We don't know if someone else used out IP address on this site and violated their rules or if we unknowingly violated their rules ourselves; they won't tell us.
The problem is that we need to be able to access this website for our work. We work from home and it's essential. We weren't sure if they had banned us by IP address, so we had a friend create an account. The account is legit and legal. He then gave us the username and password. We accessed the account from our computer at home and the account was almost immediately shut down. The friend was able to straighten things out with the company and get the account set back up, but we cannot use our computer at home to access this site. It's obvious that any access by this IP address will result in ANY account being closed.
We have a PC desktop, a MacBook laptop, and a wireless connection for the laptop (not sure how much info is needed, so I'm trying to be thorough).
I'm not going to ask someone to help me hack a site or anything. And after hours of research, I think we understand enough about proxy servers to use one of those effectively. I also know that I can call my ISP and request an IP address change (which may or may not be honored).
However, I have read other message boards and learned about cookies that websites send to your computer to identify you. I understand that most of those cookies can be cleared out by simply clearing the info from the browsing history (including cache, cookies, etc.) But I also read that they sometimes send files that are buried deeper in the computer. So here's my question...
How can I erase EVERYTHING that this website might have sent to my computer to be able to identify it? I must use the laptop to access the website. I'll work on the IP address issue on my own. But we can't use the desktop to access the site for reasons that are irrelevant and the explanation would be even more long-winded than what I've already typed here. We have to use the laptop. And I need to be ABSOLUTELY certain that the site can't identify the computer. I won't try to use my friend's account again until I'm certain that it won't be closed.
Let me reiterate this for those who are concerned: the friend has give permission for us to use his account, we have done nothing illegal on the website we've been blocked from, nor do we plan to do anything illegal on the website. We have done nothing illegal in any way, and I want LEGAL solutions to this problem. If we are not able to access this website, we will suffer financially in a severe way and are desperate to make sure that we can clear out cookies or whatever other tracking info has been put into the MacBook.
    Can someone please help us?

Thank you for the info on onyx. I will try that. I actually took my computer to the Apple store and someone there "cleaned" it out for me.
As for why we can't resolve the issue with the website, we tried to talk to them about it but they just cut us off and said they weren't going to discuss it and that they wouldn't reopen the account.
We have one account as employees and the other accounts (the ones that were closed) were customer accounts. The two departments are separate, and we do not want to bring our account to their attention again and risk them connecting the customer accounts with the employee account and then closing the employee account as well.
We were using the customer account to monitor the employee account. Quality of video and sound, that kind of thing. Nothing fishy there. But since the guy on the phone didn't make the connection that it was our own account we were monitoring, he shut us down. Customers do the same thing to us and basically rip us off for thousands of dollars every week, and the company never gives those customers any trouble about it. So it's unbelievably frustrating. Also, we figured out how to do this by watching the activity of the other employees, since there's no "training" and we all learn from one another by watching. We don't know what would happen if someone there made the connection... whether they would just say "oops" and reopen the customer accounts, or whether they would be irritated about us using the customer accounts in that way and just shut us down completely. We'd rather not find out.
As of now, we're using a friend's account to monitor our video and sound quality. But we're still using the same computer. That's why it needed to be "cleaned."
