Weird email error

I have received emails on my btinternet.com account from that were intended for someone with my name but not me!
This happened once before.
They've bought stuff but not used my credit card - if anything, I have info on their financial affairs from the emails!
I guess that the system has let someone setup an account with the same name as mine?
I can still access my email and it seem otherwise totally normal!
Any ideas on what I should do please?

All this sounds like is that someone has mistakenly entered your email address by mistake. Some people have done this.
Unless your real name is very unique, then they might have forgotten to enter a period between the first and surname, or indeed added one.
The email address may end in a number, and they forgot to add the number, or used the wrong one.
I've received a few like this over the years - some for people moving house including solicitors information and all sorts of private stuff. I've always replied to them, and included their company head bosses email address if I can find it - to let them know what was going on.
You can either delete the emails, or reply first and then delete.
It's just a mistake, not a lot different than dialling the wrong number - though emails are quite a bit different for content.

HELP PLEASE! Weird email error messages

Hoping someone here can help.
I have my work email on my Tour 9630 (VZW; v5.0.0.975) and it is a lifesaver. This AM however, I started receiving 'error messages' whenever I sent an email to colleagues at my company -- i.e. those with the same @____.com addy as the one I was sending from. I rebooted the BB, same thing happened. Tried removing the email account, rebooted the BB, and added the email account again. Can receive emails from colleagues, but can't reply to them or forward to them. Just keep getting the following error message:
5.3.0 - Other mail system problem 550-'IP Authorization check failed - psmtp'
Verizon Wireless couldn't help, as I'd already done all they recommended. And my work IT team said the emails aren't even hitting our company server, its being stopped somewhere else along the line.
I get close to 500 emails a day on this and not being able to send replies to colleagues or forward messages to them is unacceptable.
ANYONE have any brilliant suggestions or solutions???

How is your email integrated on your BlackBerry? I assume it's using Outlook Web Access (OWA)? Also, are you able to send emails to addresses outside of your domain?

Weird email error message

Hi - when checking my inbox on my iphone4, I get the message "Cannot Get Mail - the account Big Pond is in use on another device". Then mail proceeds to download anyway, and duplicates those downloads next time I check in. suggestions appreciated.

Would you have the email signed into on another iphone, ipad, ipod or smartphone?
Are your incoming and outgoing mail servers correct?. You may need to double check this with Telstra.

Just hoping for a little help!
We recently had an email account disconnected by our provider in error (we changed from a mobile Internet connection to home ADSL & requested an email retention, which didn't happen!)
After weeks of dealing with our incompetent provider we have finally got the email address reconnected however I am unable to get it to work on any of our devices (iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 3, or home laptop). The account is definately active as emails are accessible through the providers website. The email address is an "additional mailbox" to the primary mailbox connected with the adsl.
The email address worked fine on our devices & laptop prior to the disconnection.
With the reconnection our provider advised we had to change the email settings to now be a pop3 account and provided the relevant details regarding servers, ports etc.. These details are exactly the same as the primary email address I have set up on all devices and which works perfectly.
I have tried deleting the account and re-adding, I have rebooted the devices and have double triple checked the settings. Still nothing! I just receive an error message saying "cannot get mail. The username or password for "pop3.xxxx.com" is incorrect." Though, I know the password is correct as its the same one we use to log in to the mailbox on our providers website and access the email.
Would anyone have any insight as to why only this particular email address can not be added to the devices "mail app"?? I love the ease of being able to just tap the mail icon and see all my different email accounts. I'd prefer to not have to manually login to our providers website to access mail on one account.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I have just received a weird email

I have received a weird email say that my iCloud account had been used on an unauthorised device and had been suspended. The thing that makes me thunk that it is not from apple is the fact that when I looked at the name at the top of the email it says app1e, all my other emails from apple have all said apple. My emails are coming through fine and I am not touching the email at all... Has anyone else received something like this? I only use the iCloud.com site for emails and emails on my iPad, nobody who know my password at all.
Should I be concerned or should I just ignore it as someone trying to get the account information.

Why do i get email error message when e-mail is working ok and settings are correct pop3 email

Check the thumbnails for exclamation marks, an indication of missing files. If you have moved images or folders using your computer operating system LR won’t know what you did and the original links will have been broken. You need to point LR to where you now keep the image(s) on your hard drive.

Sending email Error - I had updated my iPad2 with IOS5, after updating I am able to recieve emails, but not able to send emails from gmail, hotmail and yahoo, support pls help me ASAP

The error mentioned is caused by the sending computer clock being off.. I see you are getting the error from a Yahoo server, which matches the discussion in the thread. The thread is in relation to using thunderbird as the email client, but I suspect that does not matter. So maybe check the date/time set in your computer and see if it is off?
Other than that, I have no idea...sorry.

Something in your SMTP settings is incorrect. Your SMTP server is not authenticating on the network that you are on. Have you ever been able to send mail on this device?
Also, you are in the iPhone forum, you might be better served on the iPad forum. I will ask the mod to move the thread.

Exchange email error with memory or settings

Looking for help with an email error. I have a Palm Centro and use an MS Exchange email account. Last night it spontaneously stopped working.
Every time it attempts to Sync (auto or manual) it gives me the following error:
"Issue with low memory or settings. Check available memory or go to Account Setup to check settings."
Also, any time I enter or exit the Email application on the phone, I receive an error message
"Please press the Sync button."
I've checked the available memory on the phone and there's plenty (about 55 MB available, out of 64 MB).
The email was working just fine and nothing changed, but I double checked all the settings and they match my exchange server settings.
I've tried a phone power cycle multiple times, no joy. Phone itself, and internet access (webpages) work just fine.
Tried creating a second email account but won't let me choose Exchange as the mail type (only allows POP or IMAP).
Tried creating a second "dummy" email account and then deleting the first one. Upon choosing to delete the account, I receive the same error message about an issue with low memory or settings.
I'm about out of ideas, if anyone has seen this before and has a suggestion, that'd be very helpful. Thanks!

hard to say -- maybe some of the columns which receive a NULL value have been defined as NOT NULL ?
also i use the logout user action and it seems to work but when you click it on the site it send you to the page like i have set but if you go to other pages it still has you logged in. how do i fix that?
make sure to add ADDT´s "Restrict access to page" behaviour to whatever "other page" -- this will check if the session still exist, optionally check the access permission as defined in ADDT´s "levels", and automatically forward to the login page if those criteria aren´t met

The thing was, when I clicked on the login thing, it took me to another site and I instantly shut the server down before anything happened. Is this a real email or is it a fake? Has anyone else had this? I have already updated from one to the other so I don't know why I am receiving this.

As long as you didn't enter your iCloud username and password on the site the link took you too, you will be ok.
If you did, change your password immediately, and be vigilant for any suspicious activity in your account.

Really weird quicktime error - showing stuff beneath it?

I'm getting a really weird quicktime error like something I've never seen before. It's been happening for a few weeks now I guess, but I don't recall quite when it began.
Basically, almost any video I open in it ends up splicing into fragments. The audio works fine, but the video shows part of the video, then part of the windows behind it, then the desktop, then the video, and cycling back again and splicing through.
I'm up to date on everything and I ran disk permissions and I can't figure out what's going on. It's definitely quicktime though - it's affecting my iTunes and my Finder video previews as well, across a whole range of codecs. It doesn't affect VLC or mPlayer.
Any idea what to do?

A&I reinstalls the OS over the existing OS (to the version on your install DVD that came with the MacBook) but leaves user files and installed applications intact. You should still do a clone on an external drive first though. Or at least backup all your data files.
After A&I you then use the downloadable combo updater for OSX and the latest QT for QT, and then after reboot repair permissions. You can then run Software Update for the other updates like iLife etc.
If your install DVD was for 10.4.X and you are not on 10.5 then don't use the original DVD use the 10.5 retail disk instead.

seems like its being sent to Italy, but idk why and the text is binary but dont know what for.
