What does initial do when used on a date format field

Hi,
When  a check of if initial is done on a date format field , does it check if the field is 00/00/0000 orit checks if its blank?
Thanks.

Check is done on value "00000000".
Please try the following code, put a break-point on IF condition, t_date will have value  "00000000":
DATA: t_date type sy-datum..
IF t_date IS INITIAL.
  Write : 'test'.
ENDIF.
Hope this helps.

  • What does VISA Find Resource use as source data?

When a Serial Resource (e.g. COM1) is busy with another application, I want to tell the operator this, specifying the COM number in question. It appears the Port Binding (e.g. COM1) is not known until a successful VISA open has exececuted.  Although I could indicate the alias (e.g. ASRL1::INSTR) that is busy, its not very meaningful.  Visaconf.ini has this information. Is it the right place to go for it?

Yes, this file contains the mapping between the VISA names and the System names. It is the section ALIASES you need.

Unless you have a backup from which you can restore, yes you will lose all of your data and settings.
You should be able to sync your content back to the iPad if you have been syncing with iTunes all along. If you don't sync with iTunes, you can download much of your paid content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. This explains downloading past purchases.

Unfortunately, at this point, you must restore the device before you can move on. There is nothing you can do to avoid it now.

  • What does it mean when your computer says that someone is using your IP address

What does it mean when someone is using your IP address and what should i do...

Expanding on Bob's explanation, be sure you haven't set a manual IP address, thus being the culprit for this problem. In System Preferences / Network / Advanced... / TCP/IP section, Configure IPv4 should be set to Using DHCP. If that is not the case, then some network miscreant has purloined the IP address your Mac was using.
First try clicking on the Renew  DHCP Lease and see if the DHCP server figures it out and assigns a different address. Else, try disconnecting from the network (if on Wi-Fi, turn Wi-Fi off in the previous window, if cabled disconnect the patchcord), wait a little while and reconnect. Then hopefully the DHCP server will realize the address was purloined and assign a different one.

You can't do a backup of icloud to an external drive.  In fact, does your post have anything to do with icloud (you're in the icloud forum)?
What kind of "system backup" are you doing?  Are you using Time Machine?

  • Angel Season 5 -- what does it mean when it says "repackage"?

For some reason there are two versions of Angel Season 5 listed and only one of them is on sale.  The one that is on sale says "repackage" in the product title and I was wondering if that meant that it was used, or if maybe it just meant different packaging.  So, what does it mean when it says "repackage"?
This is the page I was looking at http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8014631&productCategoryId=cat02564&type=product&id=1568268
    Thanks!
    Heather

    Hey Heather -
The only difference in those two skus is the actual packaging.  One is a thicker package (older one) and one is a thinner packaging (newer one).  You should be able to receive the sale price on either.
    I hope this helps!

what does it mean when you get this message on the Iphone? "online maps consume data traffic"

That means that if you use online maps, it will consume data. If you're on WiFi, no worries. If you are on cellular data, then it will eat into your cellular data plan.

  • What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle?

What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle? It's a old imac from 1997.

I don't have original discs that it came with.
Then you still can use the second option with the keyboard combo I posted, called "resetting the PRAM."
Also when you way hold the c key down do you mean turn computer off and turn back on holding the c key?
Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iMacG3_2000UserManual.PDF
has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:
3.6v Newer Technology Lithium 1/2 AA PRAM Computer Clock Battery

  • What does it mean when it says to eject before disconnecting Ipod?

What does it mean when it says to eject before disconnecting Ipod?

When you press the eject button, iTunes checks to make sure if it has finished using the iPod. When it has finished (and if no other programme is using your iPod, such as anti-virus programmes) iTunes will confirm to you that it is then safe to disconnect the iPod (unplug the cable).
If you unplug an iPod from your computer while iTunes or any other prgramme is using the iPod, it will probably corrupt the files and you may be unable to use some or all songs until you Restore the iPod.

  • What does it mean when itunes requires 10.6.8?

what does it mean when itunes requires 10.6.8?
I accidently deleted my friend's itunes and it will not let me download it

If the computer is running Mac OS X 10.5.8, you cannot install the most recent version of iTunes. You will have to download iTunes 10.6.3, the last version that will run on a Mac OS X 10.5.8 system:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1575
To reinstall Microsoft Word, you will need to use the installer disk for Microsoft Office. To reinstall PhotoBooth, you would need to reinstall Mac OS X itself.
I presume you looked in the Trash on the computer, though, to see if the things you believe you deleted are perhaps still there? If they are, just drag them back to the Applications folder.
    Regards.
