What is Minimum database requirement for EBS R12

What is Minimum database requirement for EBS R12? for example if it works only with enterprise edition or with standard edition also.
Regards,
Sandeep V

Question is very interesting and very important. The link does not answer if "standard edition" can be used. Obviously, Rapid Install installs EE database. But we can move the database to another dedicated database server.
And the question becomes "Can we move it to a Standard Edition database server"? Huge ramifications on costs. Extremely important. Nowhere I could find positive answer. I wonder if anyone had found an answer?AFAIK, it is not supported.
My own research shows that VIS database (built at home) has partitioned tables in APPLSYS and APPS schemas. Partitioning is not supported in Standard Edition.Correct.
I wonder if we can migrate the database and manually move several partitioned tables into non-partitioned Standard Edition. Will EBS R12 break? Will Oracle Support cancel its support?Oracle will not support this -- Please log a SR to confirm this with Oracle Support.

Hussein

  • Minimum PC requirements for LabVIEW 7.0 Executable

I was wondering what the minimum PC requirements for a PC with the LabVIEW
    run
time engine on it running an executable that I build with LabVIEW?

That answer is going to vary greatly with the application itself. I've written big applications that require 500 MB of RAM to do all their processing. One good way to gage minimum requirements is to look at how the application performs on the development PC. Use your Task Manager to show the available RAM before you run the executable and when its running. Generally speaking, I don't recommend anything less than the hoursepower of the development PC. What I can say is that I haven't had any showstopping issues with any of my oun applications compiled by LabVIEW 7 on my PIII 800 with 512 MB of RAM and W2kPro.
Of course, there's always trial and error. I would avoid operating systems older than 4 years.

  • What is Oracle's recommendation of enabling a 3rd Party application for Online Patching? Is this a requirement with EBS R12.2 or is this something that can be done in phases for e.g.:

    Hello -

  • What r the skills required for R12 or Fusion ??

    Hello All,
I am working on 11i Apps
which is the next version after R12 ?
Can you please tell me going forward what r the skills required for R12 or Fusion ?
As well what is SOA,BPEL,JSM ??? Is it related to the oracle apps ?
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance

Middleware fusion is basically software that connects applications to a database. Middleware Fusion, or Weblogic, sets on top of the database and different software such as SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture, OBIEE, ODI, etc is installed on top of Weblogic. I am not sure what JSM is and I can tell you BPEL is apart of SOA. All these things can connect to Oracle EBS if the company wants them to. Our company has SOA, OBIEE, and other products on top of different Weblogic Servers, and these applications connects to the server that Oracle EBS is on and use data from EBS. But yes, as stated before EBS and Middleware fusion are two totally different beast.
A middleware admin is suppose to do the middleware work but in our shop we don't have that luxury so we do it all. Jack of all trade environment, master of none but learn something new everyday and I'm extremely marketable because I dibble in so much. But I would not recommend you learn all. Way too much and can be extremely overwhelming, stick with R12, that is what I love the most!
    Hope that helps

  • What are the minimum system requirements for GB 4?

What are the minimum system requirements for GB 4? I did search this forum but wasn't able to find a direct answer.
I'm running version 3.0.4 successfully on a lowly G4 733 but I suspect this is as far as I can go.
I'm updating to iDvd'08 and was also wondering if I can safely update to GB4 or not (from GB 3.0.7) on a G4 733 mhz Digital Audio. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. My guess is that I cannot but I'd like to confirm prior to attempting any further updates in GB.

I try my best to play it safely; always. And you were right, everything worked on the ext. FW HD flawlessly ...... truly amazing software!
(I did happen to check the activity Monitor w/in Utilities and it showed GB4 using about 60-67% of the CPU on a G4 733 ..... I'm assuming this is normal).

Not sure if there's a correct order to opening these apps as there has been in former versions of iLife ..... however, this (as shown above) is the order in which I opened all apps, and all worked well.

  • Recommendation for setting up Data Guard for EBS R12 12.1.3

    Hello Experts,
I would like to get some experts opinion and recommendation on setting up Data GUARD for EBS R12.1.3 running on Linux based systems.
Firstly I would wanna let you all know that I am just geek in this subject matter so do excuse me for any mistakes.
While we are planning on setting up Data Gurad fro R12 what are the best practices to consider ?.
We have 2 node rac enabled database and would wanna have non-rac based physical standby, based on this I believe that having db tier on remote or standby site is enough ?
if db node is enough for standby location what are things to be done when a fail over / switch over / role transitioned to standby for the app node from primary site to point db on the
standby location or do we have to have both apps and db tier @ stand by location
--However having a apps tier/node at standby will be of no use as we are planing to run db on mounstate meaning not a active data guard setup.
Please do reply with your recommendation/suggestions/pointers
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Backup strategy for ebs R12?

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding to backup strategy for ebs R12.
Let's say that we have one application server and one database server running, and we would like to have a backup periodically for both servers.
This means that we want to have the exactly same backup of configurations and other files for the application server and the database server in case of any fatal crashes in the servers.
I went through some discussion threads and it seems common way is to use RMAN for the data of database and file system copy for application and database servers. But, I would like to know what's the best way or recommended way for the backup strategy for data and server files of Oracle e-business suite.
Do you guys have any suggestion for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    SH

    Hi SH;
I suggest check first our previous discussion
backup and recovery startegy for EBS
    Re: Backup System
    Backup Policy for EBS can
If you make search you can find many other thread which is mention same question
For your issue basicly what we do
    1. For our prod db, if possible we take weekly cold backup(sunday) and take rman backup also daily(full backup, but it depends system you can prefer to take incremental)
    2. For our system we take file system backup weekly(OS base)
    3. For application we take backup every sunday(for some system 15 days or 30 days period). The most important point here if your system prod, and if you need to apply patch to your system you need to have valid backup and also need backup for after patching
One other important issue is we run preclone sh before take backup for apps and db tier

  • Minimum system requirements for installing Oracle Application Testing Suite

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what are the minimum system requirements for intalling Oracle Application Testing Suite?
    Thanks in Advance

    From the release notes (12.1.0.2).
    System Requirements
Oracle Application Testing Suite has the following system requirements:
    4
    3.1 Oracle Functional Testing/OpenScript
Oracle Functional Testing’s OpenScript scripting platform has the following system
    requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008
    ■ Memory: Minimum 1 GB
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 4 GB minimum
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x., 9.x and Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    3.2 Oracle Load Testing
Oracle Load Testing has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2 64, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    ■ Oracle Load Testing Agent also supported on Linux 32-bit & 64-bit, in addition to
Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems listed above
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for the Oracle Load Testing Server will vary depending
on the size and configuration of your load test. If you are running
larger load tests, of greater than 1000 Virtual Users, you should
consider deploying Oracle Load Testing on a faster server class
    machine with additional RAM recommended.
Note: Oracle recommends running the Oracle Load Testing Server
and Agents on separate systems for production load testing. The
amount of memory required on the Oracle Load Testing Agent
systems may increase based on the number of Virtual Users that will
be assigned to run on each Agent. For more information, visit the
QA/Testing Technology Center on Oracle Technology Network or
    contact your Oracle representative.
    5
    3.3 Oracle Test Manager
Oracle Test Manager has the following system requirements:
    ■ Operating System (32-bit and 64-bit versions): Windows XP, Windows Vista,
    Windows 2003, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 2008 R2. Oracle Enterprise
    Linux 5.1, 5.2, 4u8.
    ■ Memory: Minimum 2 GB.
    ■ System: x86, 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 2.6 GHz or faster
    ■ Disk Space: 10 GB minimum free (at least 3 GB free on the system drive)
    ■ Browser: Internet Explorer 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, Firefox 3.5/3.6, 6.x
    ■ Database: Oracle EE 10g or 11g, XE 10g
    ■ Application Server: Oracle WebLogic 11g (10.3.5.0). Oracle Application Testing
Suite requires the standard WebLogic Server installation (which includes jrocket
jdk.). It does not support generic versions of WebLogic Server installation (such as
    those that use wls1035_generic.jar).
    3.4 Additional Notes
The following are additional notes about system requirements:
    ■ The ATS installer can automatically install and configure an Oracle 10g Express
Edition (XE) database for use with Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test Manager.
Although this is useful for demos, for production usage switching to Oracle's 11g
Enterprise Edition database is highly recommended. Oracle 11g Standard Edition
and Oracle 10g EE or SE are also supported.
    ■ System memory requirements do not take into account other processes that may
be running and using memory on your system, reducing free uncommitted
    memory available.
    ■ When installed on the same machine, Oracle Load Testing and Oracle Test
Manager will run on the same server and use shared system resources. Oracle
Functional Test/OpenScript is a separate application that have its own memory
    and CPU requirements.
    ■ The ATS products will run in 32-bit compatibility mode when installed on 64-bit
operating systems. It is possible for Oracle Application Testing Suite to be installed
on an existing WebLogic server. However, if the pre-installed WebLogic server is
JRockit plus WebLogic (64-bit) environment, some functions in Oracle Application
Testing Suite will not work properly. Oracle Application Testing Suite can be
    installed on a 32-bit WebLogic, but not a 64-bit.
    ■ The legacy Oracle Functional Testing, VB-based scripting platform and associated
components (such as Job Scheduler) are no longer included with the ATS installer
Note: These are minimum requirements only and actual
requirements for Oracle Test Manager will vary depending on the
quantity of test assets stored and number of concurrent users
accessing the application. If you have a large quantity of test cases,
requirements or issues stored and/or are deploying Oracle Test
Manager for a team greater than 10 users, you should consider
deploying Oracle Test Manager on a faster server class machine with
    additional RAM recommended.

starting with version 9.2. Customers that still require this product should

  • (Deployment) Minimum Software required for BUILD server and IIS WebServer

We have a simple .Net SDK application written using VB-2005 and the Crystal Reports XI (R2) DEVELOPER package.
The RPT files are posted on our BOE-XI (R2) server, and are called using the View-On-Demand method from the Page Server (similar to the SDK sample application). At some point in the future, our .Net applications may invoke some of the other SDK content types.
In our environment, the .NET web-applications are checked-in to Clear Case, and then sent to a stand-alone BUILD server to be compiled. The compiled .NET web-applications are then posted to a stand-alone IIS WebServer (not the IIS server that hosts BOE InfoView/CMC).
The BUILD server and IIS WebServer have to be as "stripped-down" as possible in order to go through our QAT and Impact Analysis process.
So far we have had success if we deploy the SDK-only install from the Crystal Reports XI (R2) DEVELOPER package, and the service packs, but it doesn't include all the SDK components for other BOE content types.
If we deploy the Client-only install from the BOE-XI (R2) package, and the service packs - it doesn't seem to include the CR-Viewer which we need. But it does includes a bunch of extra software (eg. UNIVERSE DESIGNER) on the desktop of the BUILD server and IIS WebServer that our QA guys don't like.
What are the Minimum Software required for BUILD server and IIS WebServer to support CR and BOE SDKs...?
Are there any install packages that contain JUST those components, and not all the extra software that is not needed to Build/Deploy in .NET...?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Due to the CrystalDecisions.web.dll for the 2.0 framework being left off the BOE CD you will need to install the Crystal XI R2 runtimes as well as the BOE SDK.
To get the BOE SDK launch the Enterprise XI R2 installer and choose Server Install - not Client Install.  Choose a Custom install.  You'll be presented with a drop down list for the Enterprise components.  Deselect everything and then look for the Developer Components option.  You may have to drill down into one of the levels to find it.  Under Developer Components you'll see the BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK.  Select it to install it.

  • OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for this installer. 10.6.0 is the minimum required

How do I get my software? This is the message I am hitting before my download will complete:
OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for this installer.
10.6.0 is the minimum required for installation.

    Hi,
May I know what are you trying to download ?
What is the MAC OS version you are using ?
It seems you are trying to download an application which needs atleast 10.6 MAC version
I think you are using lower version of MAC, let us know the version of your MAC , in order to help better .
To check the version  : click on Apple Button on top left
select about this MAC, you will get to know the version over there.
If its something 10.5.x , then you need to upgrade your MAC in order to install that application which needs 10.6 MAC
