What is the conspiracy behind ...

WHY ARE THERE NO TRACK/CHAPTER SETTINGS FOR MAKING A CD?

and dont understand its reasoning...
It is the same reasoning that has people build audio systems where the components are chosen for excellence rather than going down to Best Buy and purchasing an all-in-one-theater-sound-sytem-in-a-box.
Compromises are made in each case. In the case of the components, you are rewarded with a superior sound at the cost of your time and effort to build the system. The nice thing is it allows you to upgrade individual elements as your resources and desires permit.
In the case of the all-in-one, you gain connivence at the cost of excellence. You generally throw the whole thing out when you upgrade.
And, please stop spouting nonsense about how expensive FCP is. $999 for a fully featured collection of software is a bargain. If this seems too costly for you, time to find another hobby.

  • What is the concept behind using table PA0002 and structure p0002.

    Hi,
What is the concept behind using table PA0002 and structure p0002.
Many times, I have seen Looping at structure e.g. p0002, p0006 etc. and data is processed and also seen Looping at table PA0002, PA0006 etc. with further appropriate subtypes if any to retrieve a value and process the same.
In which context tables like PA,HRP,IT etc. are used and structures p0001,p0002 etc. are used.
    Regards,
    Ameet

    HI,
As mentioned  that that Structure Pnnnn is user as a internal tablw when a LDB is used.
    Ex.
    TABLES: PERNR.
    INFOTYPES: 0001.
      GET PERNR.
        PROVIDE * FROM P0001 BETWEEN PN-BEGDA AND PN-ENDDA.
        WRITE:  / P0001-PERNR,
                  P0001-STELL,
                  P0001-BEGDA,
                  P0001-ENDDA.
        ENDPROVIDE.
Here it is important to declare the infotypes you want to read  and so the system will create internal tables  ex. P0001.
Tables PA0001 are database table with following fields
    MANDT
    .INCLUDE  PAKEY
    .INCLUDE  PSHD1
    .INCLUDE   PS nnnn
    Thanks,

  • What is the concept behind MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE

What is the concept behind MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE ?

    Hi Manjunath,
Please check the Documentation of the Function Module in SE37
This function module is the interface from the application to the ALE layer on the outbound side. The application can pass an IDoc, the so-called master IDoc, as an internal table using the parameters MASTER_IDOC_CONTROL and MASTER_IDOC_DATA.
This IDoc is then converted into one or communcation IDocs and stored in the ALE layer. IDocs for which no errors occurred are passed to dispatch control.
In the table parameter  COMMUNICATION_IDOC_CONTROL the header records for the communication IDocs created are retturned. You can tell whether processing was successful from the field STATUS.
A COMMIT WORK must be dispatched in the calling program, otherwise the IDocs may not be dispatched.
    Best regards,

  • Could you tell me what is the reason behind all this?

    Hi
Zp0001, we have 510 pcs in stock, but for some reasons we can’t commit the orders that we have on the system. When we go into a xyz order 308 for example), the system commits only to February, even if we could do a partial shipment.
Could you tell me what is the reason behind all this?

Please look into availability check for that particular material,
based on the availability check the system determines whether to
confirm the sales order (if the sales order qty > inshe stock (either
rejection/partial confirmation - depends upon the availability check),
followed by determination of delivery date

In CRM 2007 what is the code behind the Navigation bar?.
    Jason

It might be in component CRMCMP_NAVBAR. However, so far I have been unable to get a break point to activate. Ideally on choosing an option from the navigation bar, like Service ticket, I would like the debug session to start before call the Service Ticket component.
This is all in the aim of trying to determine why the initial startup of the Service Ticket is so slow.

  • Pending Licenses : What is the concept behind pending licenses ?

    hi,
I am seeing pending licenses in device license in call manager 8.5.1
    a) How can i filter devices whose licenses are pending.
    b) What is the concept behind pending licenses.

    Thanx [email protected]
By gettign total no. of pending DLU's = some units apart form total alloted DLU's , consumed units and free units.
       What i understand is
total alloted DLUS's =  total consumed DLU  + total free DLU + Pending DLU's.
thus one pending licenseis as good as consuming a  license ?
M i thinking in correct direction,if yes how can i free these pending DLU's .

  • What is the logic behind suggest due date in a planned order?

I have observed that suggest due date of a planned order is not based on demand. What is the logic behind derivation of suggest due date?
Some times pegging date is based on Sales Order request date but not all the times, how to interpret the pegging date of a planned order?
Please confirm that suggest ship date is based on the suggest due date and In-transit time and lead time.

    HI,
Planning engine calculates the Sugg Due Date based on some mathematical calculations and some Plan setups.
It also depends on what option you have chosed in the plan, for Material availability i.e. at the start of the Job or at the start of operation.
For buy item-it will minus the pre, post and processing lead time from the Material requirement date for making the job based on above setup.
For make items, it will also consider Manufacturing lead time(based on the routing) and will show the Sugg due date
Please mark this post as correct or helpful, if it clears your concern.

  • What is the idea behind Render Response and Exception Handling in TF?

    Dear All,
While searching for answer for my question, I find it hard to decipher this line.
task flow exception handling doesn't handle any exception that is in Render Response phase
I found this several times in many post like this.
Re: ADF Exception handling (including RENDER RESPNSE PHASE)
    and this
    Re: Exception Handling in TaskFlow
What's the idea behind exception handling in task flow that is related to JSF/ADF life cycle?
I can't find a resource on why I should know what phase an exception has been thrown?
Sorry if my question might be vague/ignorant to others, but I just would like to know the idea from experts around here. :)
    Thanks.
    JDEV 11G PS4

    Hi,
Render Response is the last lifecycle phase processed during JSF request. The ADF controller has no chance of handling exceptions that occur during this time (example, exception thrown in managed bean) and therefore in its default exception handling implementation ignores this lifecycle phase. As an application developer you don't need to know when an exception is raised. However, if you find that an exception occurs during Render Response and it is not handled by the ADFc declarative exception handler, then you know. You can try and override the framework exception handler as explained here:
    https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/extending_the_adf_controller_exception_handler
However, better practice is to use try/catch blocks surrounding e.g. calls in a managed bean that could cause exceptions

  • What is the idea behind specifying the voice VLAN under the interface

    Hi,
What is the idea behind specifying the voice VLAN under the interface? (Is it needed for both 802.1P and 802.1Q?)
    Regards
    M

The voice vlan command is what tells the IP phone what VLAN it should use...
The idea is that setting the native vlan on the port controls what VLAN the attached PC goes into, and the voice vlan tells the phone which VLAN it should go into.
It doesn't have any direct relation to QoS, as the port could be configured to ignore or take action on QoS markings with or without the voice vlan command.

  • What is the rationale behind the "Adobe Standard" color calibration profile?

Hi! I'm trying to figure out how to make the most of the various color calibration profiles Adobe offers for my cameras with Lightroom 5. I do understand the purpose of the camera-specific options--they're designed to help approach camera JPEG processing mode colors. And they work wonderfully--they're very helpful!
But I don't really understand the purpose of the "Adobe Standard" calibration option. What is it for? Why does it look the way it looks? Has it been designed to ease certain processing goals? To enhance certain colors or tonal combinations? Is it designed to be more accurate than the manufacturer profiles in some way? What can I do with "Adobe Standard" that I can't do with one of the camera-specific calibration options?
I would find it *extremely* helpful if someone who's involved with the engineering behind Lightroom's color (or anyone else who's especially knowledgeable about Lightroom's design) might talk a little bit about why "Adobe Standard" looks the way it looks. What's it for? To what purposes can I leverage it?
    Thanks so much!

Adobe Stadnard is the name for the individual profiles Adobe builds for each camera it receives. A new camera ships, Adobe gets their hands on one and builds a profile with that sample. It isn't suppose to mimic the in-camera JPEG settings, I don't believe it's supposed to mimic anything but instead produce what is (and quotes are super important in this context) the most 'accurate' color response from the target they use to create the profile. But here's the rub. Not all cameras from the same make and model behave identically. Adobe simply can't get piles of the same body and build then average that response. So they provide a means for you to build your own custom DNG camera profile and for differing illuminates. So if you want to leverage it, you'd get a target (MacBeth 24 patch, X-rite Passport) and build your own custom profile. It can really help depending on how your sensor deviates from the sensor Adobe got to build their profiles.

  • What is the mechanism behind processing credit card payment on net?

Excuse my ignorance, i just completely dont have any knowledge about it. Here is what i thought: when a customer submit his/her credit card information on a e-commerce site, the site's server will make remote request to Bank's(?) server, which would verify the information user has provided, payment would be proceeded if those information is correct and sends message back to the e-commerce site's server. Or if the payment cant not be proceeded, the e-commerce site's server receives error message possibly saying the user's credit card info can not by verified. someone plz correct me if there are any mistake.
So, how can i simulate this mechanism on a single pc? What i thought was i need to set up a db on mysql which simulates the bank's db, stores people's credit card info. For the e-commerce site i run on Tomcat, i may set up db connection(JDBC) to this db and verify user's credit card info. But i dont think this is how it works in reality, isn it? It would be possibly using java RMI(i am just guessing, havent digged into this area yet) to complete the task. So, if this is the case, can i simulate it on a single pc? Or do i have to phycially have two PCs, have both of them connected to my house's LAN, one runs e-commerce website on tomcat, the other runs mysql db server, then i can start simulating it by using java RMI? This is just something i've been wondering these day. As the uni's long holiday getting closer, i am thinking of giving myself a project gotta be something like this, so i would not get bored during the holidays. I really wish someone would explain me some ideas. Many many thanks...

If you're asking if you can run the database server on
the same machine as Tomcat, yes you can. (Although in
a real e-commerce site, that would be less secure than
having the database server behind a firewall.)
yes, i am runing both mysql db and Tomcat on my pc. So, i am wondering that i could possibly set up two separate databases, one holds data for whatever e-commerce site i am going to build, and the other simulates the bank's database that stores peope's credit card information, which can be accessed by the e-commerce site's JSP pages thru RMI for the purpose of validating credit card information. On the other hand, honestly, i am even asking myself what's the point or purpose of doing it in such a way? In fact, this is one of my subjects' project, that we've been given much flexibility about the way we simulate/implement the interaction between e-commerce site and bank's database. The goal is just trying to make it as close to what's happening in reality as possible. I was thinking of just creating a table that holds users' credit card information and put it with other e-commerce's site db tables altogether. But that just sounds like too far away from how it is done in reality, doesnt it? That's why i came up with the above ideas, what still not sure if it's proper way of doing it. Jesus, i am missed....
If you are asking how an e-commerce site really
interacts with a bank for credit card validation, I
have no idea. But you could simulate that with a
database, although I'm pretty sure the real method
doesn't involve JDBC or RMI or any Java-specific
technology.so, does anyone have ideas about how it is implemented in real life?
    many many thanks...

  • What is the logic behind the oracle database connections....

    Hi,
We have crontab alerts are enabled for the oracle database client connection.
For Production databases the alerts are coming continuously until it gets connected.
For QA databases it will throw the message that the oracle client connection fails and again it will prompt whenever it gets connected.
Please let me know the logic behind these scnerions.

    Edited by: dm_ptldba on Feb 14, 2012 6:45 AM

    Hi,
Thanks for the update, Sorry the question was not clear. let me put it in a clear way.
Following is our crontab which alerts us if any database/listener goes down. But it alerts us only once for one successful/unsuccessful connection. For Eg: If the crontab not able to connect to the database for once then it throws an alert only once and waits for a successful connection.
I would like to change the logic in this crontab in such a way that, it should keep on alerting us for all the unsuccessful connections and once or twice for successful connection.
