What is the HTTP caching flowchart/logic in Firefox?

Hello,
I am configuring a reverse HTTP proxy and I am trying to optimize it as much as possible. I found the following article which was written on Oct. 9, 2002 and it describes the HTTP caching logic in Firefox.
http://www-archive.mozilla.org/projects/netlib/http/http-caching-faq.html
However, the article is pretty old and I don't think that Firefox uses the same flowchart in the latest versions of the browser. Do you know how exactly Firefox caches certain object. What I mean is does FF check the Cache-control header first and then the Expires header and finally the Last-Modified. What happens if there are both Cache-control header and Expires header?
Kind Regards,
Daniel K.

WebLogic Server is a single java process, that has two listen ports, one SSL
and non-ssl.
These two ports use protocol discrimination to handle multiple protocols on
a single port.
NON-SSL --> http, t3 (proprietary rmi protocol), iiop
SSL --> https, t3s, iiops
So WebLogic comes with a build in Webserver. Or you can use a third party
webserver in front of WLS with plugin to proxy to WLS.
See;
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/plugins/

Is the built-in web server in weblogic Apache or is it some other httpserver that
BEA owns ?

  • What is the name "cache" refer to?

What is the name "cache" refer to in the following script?
Is cache a class? But I cannot find it in the Coherence Documentation.
    CacheService service = cache.getCacheService();
    Cluster      cluster = service.getCluster();
    Thank you

    Thank you very much.
But I think the Oracle documentation: Oracle Coherence Getting Started is not suitable for a beginner. Some aspects are not put sufficiently clear and not in details. Could you recommend some documentations easier and more suitable for a beginner?
Many terms are cited without ant explanations. For example:
    thread-local lazy-initialization pattern,

Same here, I have Logic Studio 8 and wouldn't mind staying with that version, except that the installer won't run on my new Macbook Pro as PowerPC apps are no longer supported. That's the message I get in any case.
I use to run Logic on a 2006 Macbook Pro.
I guess that makes me a very unhappy Apple user! I've been using Logic from the Emagic days, bought every upgrade only to see Apple kill what used to be one of the best Pro Audio application. Imagine if they had done the same to Photoshop, there would be a lot of unhappy designers out there
Paying the full price for years to slowly see your daily app go down in price & efficiency until it's given away at $199 for semi pro users. Well, at least ProTools is stil alive & kicking so I guess that's the way forward now.
This is coming from someone that never ever used a Windows machine to make music! Life is good still!

  • Programatically disabling the HTTP cache in the JVMlt

How do I programatically disable the HTTP cache in the JVM that is being used by the URLConnection classes?

Working through the HTTP request properties did the trick, but I actually used the if-modifed-since property, which was more appropriate for me for a number of reasons.

  • What does the "Only cache local content" box do under Caching Server?

Just upgraded to Mavericks server, but I don;t understand what the "Only cache local content option" does? Does that mean it caches content on an on-demand basis, or dowloads all availavle updates?
    Thanks!

I suppose it's hidden in the Key 'PeerFilterRanges'
When PeerFilterRanges is boolean true, the caching server does the same as the above but uses the ListenRanges rather than the PeerFilterRanges value.

  • What's the mean Scrub in logic pro

    Hi!
    at "preferences->Audio->Core Audio" this Tab.
what's the mean "Maximum Scrub Speed"
    Thanks

From the Logic Pro User Manual pg 99:
    "Maximum Scrub Speed
This pop-up menu allows you to set the maximum scrubbing speed. You can choose
    between the following options:
Normal: The normal playback speed is used for scrubbing.
Double: The scrubbing playback speed is twice as fast."
You can access a PDF version of all of the user manuals in the Help menu and do a keyword search. So for this you would open the Logic Pro 8 User Manual and just type "Maximum Scrub Speed" in the search field. This was the first result that came up. Too easy.....

  • What is the mximum ram which logic 8.02 supports

hi this is kamal from hyderabad INDIA.I`am using Logic 8.02 on intel mac dual core*2 2.66 Ghz. please do anyone inform me that what is the highest amount of ram which logic 8.02 supports.

    hi kamal,
logic itself won't access more than 3.7 Gb at a time, but the application and the plugs don't really need that much, even on really big projects. the only exception to this is apple loops which for technical reasons have to be stored in RAM.
the only reason you may be interest in RAM for logic (more than the 3.7 Gb limit) is if you are running big orchestral libraries. if you have more than 5 Gb of RAM installed, the EXS will be able to access that physical RAM outside of logics memory space. that means you can have 4Gb (well at least 3.7) of samples loaded per instance of EXS. vienna instruments and the new PLAY fro EWQLSO can do the same thing.
the other alternative is to run your sample libraries as standalone applications outside of logic. but we really are talking about very big libraries now. if you have a big library you want to run, and it is on the exs, then you can install more than 5Gb and you whould be very happy.
native instruments DFD will allow you to decide how much of the library is streamed and how much is loaded into RAM. that is a good way of optimizing as well.

  • Working on two machines - what about the media cache ?

I'm a long time user of FCP just getting my head around Premiere Pro CS5.5. I quite often work on the same project at work and at home. With FCP I simply duplicated the media onto another drive and just transported the project file on a flash disk - obviously rendering of effects would have to be done locally.
Now with Premiere I notice there's the media cache which, as far as I can tell, is not necessarily anything to do with rendering and effects but related and applied to every clip.
So my question is, will the media cache have to be built from scratch on each machine every time I move the project file ?
If so, is there a way to avoid this so that I wont have to wait for it to build the media cache ?
....or on a 30 minute film with 15 hours of original media will this will this be a quick process so as not to be a problem ?
I suppose what I'm really asking is how can I easily work on the same project in different locations ?
    Any help appreciated.

At the moment my media cache is in my user library folder on the system drive.
I would avoid using the system drive for media cache files.
The best would be to have a separate, identically named drive
(D for example) for your media cache.
If you use an external drive for your media, make sure that
you assign the same drive letter to this drive on both systems.
... and then duplicate the lot onto another drive ?
I have never tried to wholesale copy media cache files from one
system to another... preferring to allow Premiere to generate a
    cache for each system.
One other thing. Suppose I capture some more media at work, can I just copy this media into the same location on my home drive and then will the media cache on my home machine just update the new media ?
    Yes.

  • What is the negative cache?

    Hi,
I generate various RFC Models that I use in my Web Dynpro. Most of them work fine. But there are some models that throw the following runtime exception:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: com.vw.idm.dbk.model.Zidm_Dbk_Id
    Found in negative cache
The type Zidm_Dbk_Id is the type of an output attribute of the RFC.
Does anybody know what this could mean?
    Thanks in advance
    Helmut

Have you tried restarting the server?
It seems like the classloader caches "misses" when loading classes.
I have seen this error before too.

  • OSX 10.9.4 What is the best cache cleaner?

I have a MascBook Pro with 16GB of memory.  My file cache is using 1.34 GB of memory.  What is the best program to use for cleaning file cache?

    None.
Apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
Plus, these type of apps aren't really necessary OR needed. They really aren't.
There are manual methods to clear off unnecessary data off of your Mac that are safer and you have complete control over your Mac and not just leave a piece of auto cleaning software in charge of clearing off data off of your Mac. Their potential of causing OS X issues outweighs the implied good and benefits these types of hard drive or memory "cleaning" apps are written to do.
These types of  system 'cleaning" apps are very poorly written and are really a scam to rob newbie and novice Mac users of their hard earned cash for a poorly written maintenance program that will do much more harm to a perfectly normal running OS X system than the good that the app developers purport these types of apps will do.
Plus, the software companies that write these apps make it hard to easily uninstall these apps if something DOES go wrong and these apps work in a way where you have no recovery or revert function to return your Mac back to its former, working state in the event something does go wrong.
It is best to never, EVER download and install these types of apps.
The risk to your system and important data is too great a risk!

  • Can URL redirects be configured with XE and what is the HTTP Server

I would like to be able to URL redirects. I'm running XE with Application Express 2.1.0.00.39.
I want to be able to have a URL like www.schoolwebsite.com and when the user hits it - have it redirect to the Apex page for the application. I was thinking that I needed to use a redirect in the HTTP config file, and that XE used Oracle_HTTP and I could configure in that manner.
But, I can't find an Apache directory.
    1. What HTTP server is used with XE and Application Express 2.1.0.00.39?
    2. Can I configure for this type of redirect?
    3. Do I need to install an HTTP server to accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Hi Steven,
search for "proxy" in this forum.
It explains how to configure a plain Apache http server as a proxy to XE. Then you can use the default mechanisms to rewrite an url.
Here is an example (save the file as XE.conf and store it in the Apache conf directory (file httpd.conf is there).
The following instructions are valid for Apache2.
    # Activate the following modules in httpd.conf:
    #LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so
    #LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so
    #LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so
    #LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
    #LoadModule headers_module modules/mod_headers.so
    # include the XE configuration (this file XE.conf) in httpd.conf:
    #include "conf/XE.conf"
    # XE listener is buggy, thus downgrade to http 1.0
    SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteLog "D:\Programme\Apache Group\Apache2\logs\rewrite.log"
    RewriteLogLevel 0

  • What is the diff b/w logical query and physical query?

    Thanks In advance

In OBIEE terms the logical query is how you query the BI Server, the Presentation services sends logical SQL to the BI Server, you can also write your own using JDBC , pull from BI Server using ODI etc.
The BI Server engine takes this logical query and writes (a number of) phyiscal querie(s) to satisfy the logical request, depeninding on how your BMM and Physical layer is setup. There are a number of rules the BI Server evaluates before deciding the most appropriate Physical query to generate, rules include Physical Joins, Aggregate tales / Hierarchy levels and so on.
    Hope this helps,
    Good luck with interview :-)

When I try and book mark things in Firefox, it doesn't always take. What is the step by step procedure?

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmark_dialog
    * You can click the star at the right end of the location bar once to bookmark the current site and click the highlighted star a second time to open the "Edit This Bookmark" window and move the bookmark to another folder or edit the name.
    * You can click the Remove button in the "Edit This Bookmark" window to remove a bookmark.
    * You can click the arrow at the far right of the Folder field in the "Edit This Bookmark" window to access the complete folder list. That full folder list also opens if you click the drop marker in the Folder field and select the "Choose" item. That window also has a button to create a "New Folder" (look for a button with "New Folder" or a "+" under the folder list).
    * If you click the star in the location bar then the page will be bookmarked in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star turns yellow (blue on Mac) to show that.
    * If you use "Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page" (Ctrl+D) then the bookmark will go to the Bookmarks Menu folder (you need to confirm that).
    * You can see the Unsorted Bookmarks folder in the sidebar and the Library, but not in the Bookmarks menu.
