- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

So I've had this computer for about 2 years now, got this when I graduated High School now I'm going into my junior year of college. Out of the time that I've had it I had to replace the hard drive once, and nowadays the headphone jack is giving me some sort of strange feedback. I read other posts regarding systems preferences regarding headphones and it works just fine. The weird thing is that whenever I plug my headphones in to the audio jack, I receive a lot of unnecessary feedback. I'll hear buzzing, static, and my sound is all the way at max volume but it sounds as if it's at the minimum. Whenever I jiggle my headphones the static gets louder, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem or give an idea to what's wrong.
Props to anyone if they know whatever's going on with my stuff. Thanks

HT4623 I would like to have both my lock symbol and mute symbol to be off at the same time can they both be in the control at the same time

I have posted this many, many times here. See if this helps you understand how this process works with regard to system sounds and screen rotation lock.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

I have an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I try to shuffle it and all it does is shuffle through songs that's artist begins with S. I can play other songs, but then the next song is always an S artist. Can anyone help?

My ipod has just stopper shuffling through anything but artists that start with the letter S. I can play other songs but the next one that comes around is always an S artist.

Hi. I was wondering what was wrong with my iPhone 5? It won't turn on or ity won't charge on my computer or wall plug in. It's been several hours. And i recently got the iOS7

I have a problem with my iPhone5. I went for a jog with my iPhone5 and when i was done and at home i notice my iPhone wasn't on. So i pressed the power button and it wont say that its battery dead or anything and so i left it charging for an hour but it still wont turn on. It wont charge on my computer or wall plugins. Or it wont show that little battery charging symbol. It just wont turn on or charge. If i plug it to iTunes it wont show my iPhone there too. Or even on my computer. Come to think of it i havent payed my phone bill.

Have you tried running Disk Utility/Repair Permissions and deleting the .plist for the two programs?
In Finder, hold down the option key while selecting the Go to Folder Command and select user library.

Have you tried logging out of the Store in your iPhone's Settings? iOS devices store your account information upon login, and it looks to me as if your iPhone is still reading your old info prior to subscribing to Match.
- Go to Settings > Store
- Tap your Apple ID, then hit Sign Out
- Go back to Store, sign back in with your Apple ID

But this one..

Gives the following error.

I have to believe this has something to do with iOS 7 issues. I have taken my screen blacked out 5s twice to the Genius Bar and the found a bunch of system apps had crashed. So if this is the case, is iOS7 the problem?
