What si maximum Length of a StringBuffer!

Hi,
Can any-one tell me what is the maximum length of a stringbuffer. That is what's the maximum amount of data that can be stored in a stringbuffer.
Thanks for the help

I think there is no maximum length. (The only limit is the memory).

  • What is maximum  length of oracle database objects name

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what is maximum length of oracle database objects name .
I guess it is 30 ,correct me if i am wrong thank you.
    regards,
    P Prakash

Some objects (like synonyms or java classes) can have longer names than 30 chars:
SQL> create or replace synonym empempempempempempempempempempempempemp for emp
Synonym created.though internally oracle will generate short names for such objects:
    SQL> select synonym_name from user_synonyms where synonym_name like '%EMPEMPEM%'
    SYNONYM_NAME
    /969ea190_EMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEM
1 row selected.and not always will the long name be actually usable:
    SQL> select * from empempempempempempempempempempempempemp
    Error at line 1
    ORA-00972: identifier is too long

  • What is maximum length .mov file that can be used in iDVD?

    Hello Appleheads
I created an HD .mov file in iMovie which I had added as a movie in iDVD - I find this works best for me, as exporting directly to iDVD from iMovie always results in stuttering when played back on a regular DVD player.
The .mov file is 2 hours and 14 minutes long, and 10.5GB
Am I right in thinking that the maximum length is 1 hour and 39 minutes? And does the size (GBs) have any bearing.
    Many thanks - Brion

    Hi Brion
Gbs or Mbs - doesn't play any role what so ever.
Time does - Time is = Movie duration + MENU DURATION
(a complex menu can easily take 15 minutes or even more)
    iDVD 08, 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities. (vers 7.0.1, 7,0.4 & 7.1.1)
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
    • Professional Quality (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST
    • Best Performances (movies + menus  less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
    • High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
    About double on DL DVDs.

  • What is maximum length of CAT5e cable that HH3 can...

The wireless signal is weak in our home office in the garden so I installed a CAT5e cable to give me a LAN connection to the computer.  The cable is 30 m long and I have checked the connections (from the LAN connection lead into the router to the connection lead into the computer) with a suitable meter which gave me green lights throughout.  However there is no signal at the computer.  I have tried all 4 connections at the HH3. I have connected my laptop into the HH3 using the same lead that connects from the hub to the socket in the wall that connects to the CAT5e cable to the office and it works fine.  I take the laptop to the office and but there it says there is no signal.  According to BT website a CAT5e cable can be up to 100m and phone up to 150m.  I cannot find any way of contacting BT that gets me to someone who might know (I did try their "typing conversation", with someone telling me it was 10 m and then eventually admitting they did not know anything about networks!).
Is the HH3 not man enough for the job or is there something wrong with it and I need to use snail mail to write to Mr Warren Buckley to complain?

    Maximum cable segment length:
According to the ANSI/TIA/EIA standard for category 5e copper cable (TIA/EIA 568-5-A), the maximum length for a cable segment is 100 meters (328 feet). If longer runs are required, the use of active hardware such as a repeater or switch is necessary.
I have a cable run of 50mtrs and it works no problem from a Homehub 2.
Are you using a patch cable or a crossover cable.Cables come in two flavors, straight through, also called a patch cable and a crossover cable. Normally when you connect Ethernet stuff like connecting a PC to a hub you would use a patch cable.
If you connect two like things together, PC to PC or Hub to Hub you need a crossover cable.

How do I identify the maximum length of video in iMovie which can be made into a dvd in iDVD, please?
I made a sellection of video clips  > pressed on "share" > on iDVD >  after one hour of formating the message was under "project duration"  : "Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window."
I have edited out some of the clips and waited anothe hour or so bu the same message appeared !
I want to know in advance how long can be the video clip sellection for the quality of video chosen ( the best before HD).
    please help if ou can.
    thank you very much indeed.
    Michael

It's trying to tell you to change the encoding setting:
    iDVD encoding settings:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/11417.html
    Short version:
Best Performance is for videos of up to 60 minutes
Best Quality is for videos of up to 120 minutes
Professional Quality is also for up to 120 minutes but even higher quality (and takes much longer)
That was for single-layer DVDs. Double these numbers for dual-layer DVDs.
Professional Quality: The Professional Quality option uses advanced technology to encode your video, resulting in the best quality of video possible on your burned DVD. You can select this option regardless of your project’s duration (up to 2 hours of video for a single-layer disc and 4 hours for a double-layer disc). Because Professional Quality encoding is time-consuming (requiring about twice as much time to encode a project as the High Quality option, for example) choose it only if you are not concerned about the time taken.
In both cases the maximum length includes titles, transitions and effects etc. Allow about 15 minutes for these.
You can use the amount of video in your project as a rough determination of which method to choose. If your project has an hour or less of video (for a single-layer disc), choose Best Performance. If it has between 1 and 2 hours of video (for a single-layer disc), choose High Quality. If you want the best possible encoding quality for projects that are up to 2 hours (for a single-layer disc), choose Professional Quality. This option takes about twice as long as the High Quality option, so select it only if time is not an issue for you.
Use the Capacity meter in the Project Info window (choose Project > Project Info) to determine how many minutes of video your project contains.
NOTE: With the Best Performance setting, you can turn background encoding off by choosing Advanced > “Encode in Background.” The checkmark is removed to show it’s no longer selected. Turning off background encoding can help performance if your system seems sluggish.
And whilst checking these settings in iDVD Preferences, make sure that the settings for NTSC/PAL and DV/DV Widescreen are also what you want.

I am not seeing why this would be failing.

    HI,
the problem is delimited data defaults to char(255)..... Very helpful I know.....
what you need to two is tell sqlldr hat the data is longer than this.
so change notes to notes char(4000) in you control file and it should work.

  • Lax validation errors on schema import ('version' exceeds maximum length)

I have a schema as per below. I'm trying to import it into Oracle 10.2.0.2.0. However, I'm getting the following lax validation error:
Error loading ora_business_rule.xsd:ORA-30951: Element or attribute at Xpath /schema[@version] exceeds maximum length
I can fix it by modifying the attribute and shortening it but I'd like to know why it's occuring. Insofar as I can tell there is no imposed limit on the size of schema attributes according to the W3C standard. Which then makes me wonder: does Oracle impose limits on the length of all attributes or is this specific to 'version' ? If there is a limit, what is the upper bound (in bytes) ? Where is this documented?
    Cheers,
    Daniel

  • Ctxload error DRG-11530: token exceeds maximum length

I downloaded the 11g examples (formerly the companion cd) with the supplied knowledge base (thesauri), unzipped it, installed it, and confirmed that the droldUS.dat file is there. Then I tried to use ctxload to create a default thesaurus, using that file, as per the online documentation. It creates the default thesaurus, but does not load the data, due to the error "DRG-11530: token exceeds maximum length". Apparently one of the terms is too long. But what can I use to edit the file? I tried notepad, but it was too big. I tried wordpad, but it was unreadable. I was able to create a default thesaurus using the much smaller sample thesaurus dr0thsus.txt, so I confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the syntax or privileges. Please see the copy of the run below. Is there a way to edit the droldUS.dat file or a workaround or am I not loading it correctly? Does the .dat file need to be loaded differently than the .txt file?

    Hi Roger,
Thanks for the response. You are correct. I was confusing the terms thesaurus and knowledge base, which sometimes seem to be used interchangeably or synonymously, but are actually two different things. I read over the various sections of the documentation regarding the supplied knowledge base and supplied thesaurus more carefully and believe I understand now. Apparently, the dr0thsus.txt file that I did ultimately load using ctxload to create a default thesaurus is the supplied thesaurus that is intended to be used to create the default English thesaurus, which supports ctx_thes syn and such. The other droldUS.dat file that I mistakenly tried to load using ctxload is the supplied compiled knowledge base that supports ctx_doc themes and gist and such. In the past I have used ctx_thes.create_thesaurus to create a thesaurus, but using ctxload can also load a thesaurus from a text file with the data in a specified format. Once a thesaurus is loaded using ctxload, it can then be compiled using ctxkbtc to add it to the existing compiled knowledge base. So, the knowledge base is sort of a compilation of thesauri, which is what led to my confusion in terminology. I think I have it all straight in my mind now and hopefully this will help anybody else who searches for the same problem and finds this.
    Thanks,
    Barbara

  • Field in data file exceeds maximum length - CTL file error

    Hi,
I am loading data in new system using CTL file. But I am getting error as 'Field in data file exceeds maximum length' for few records, other records are processed successfully. I have checked the length of the error record in the extract file, it is less than the length in the target table, VARCHAR2 (2000 Byte). Below is the example of error data,
Hi Rebecca~I have just spoken to our finance department and they have agreed that the ABCs payments made can be allocated to the overdue invoices, can you send any future invoices direct to me so that I can get them paid on time.~Hope this is ok ~Thanks~Terry~
Is this error caused because of the special characters in the string?
Below is the ctl file I am using,
    OPTIONS (SKIP=2)
    LOAD DATA
    CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1
    INFILE  '$FILE'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE "XXDM_DM_17_ONACCOUNT_REC_SRC"
    WHEN (1)!= 'FOOTER='
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|'
    OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS (

                                  <Column_name>,
                                  COMMENTS,
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>
    Thanks in advance,
    Aditya

    Hi,
I suspect this is because of the built in default length of character datatypes in sqldr - it defaults to char(255) taking no notice of what the actual table definition is.
Try adding CHAR(2000), to your controlfile so you end up with something like this:
    OPTIONS (SKIP=2)
    LOAD DATA
    CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1
    INFILE  '$FILE'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE "XXDM_DM_17_ONACCOUNT_REC_SRC"
    WHEN (1)!= 'FOOTER='
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|'
    OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS (
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  COMMENTS CHAR(2000),
                                  <Column_name>,
                                  <Column_name>
    Cheers,

  • XML data value exceeds maximum length - ORA-30951

    Hello,
I am receiving ORA-30951: Element or attribute at Xpath /dataroot/Respondent[1]/Response[3]/Value exceeds maximum length error during the XML load.
I have registered the schema and it works fine when the Value is less than 64k but fails if its greater. I tried changing the type of Value to type="xsd:base64Binary" xdb:maintainDOM="false" xdb:SQLName="LOB_DATA" xdb:SQLType="BLOB" but then I get ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes error.
Can someone please let me know what I am doing wrong or is there a way I can load more than 64k length elements on 10g?
    Thanks

  • Sqlldr - filler columns exceeds maximum length

    Hi All,
    DB version : 10.2.0.1.0
We are getting a CSV file with 127 fields. We require to load first 9 fields and the 127th field using SQLLDR. What is the best way to specify this in Control file?
    Currently we are giving like
       C10 filler,
       C11 filler,
       C127 filler,
       column_name
       1. Is there any other better approach available?
    2. We are gettiing issues when, filler columns exceeds maximum length. We tried to give like
                  c10 char(4000) filler  ,
But it gives sybtax error. What is the work around for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeneesh
Please note that using EXTERNAL TABLEs or other methods is not feasible for us.

    Hi jeneesh,
    Did you try,
    c10 filler char(4000)from docs
The syntax for a filler field is same as that for a column-based field, except that a filler field's name is followed by FILLER.Best regards
    Peter

  • SQL Loader - data exceeds maximum length

I am having an issue with SQL Loader falsely reporting that a column is too long in a CSV upload file. The offending column, Notes, is defined in the staging table as VARCHAR2(1000). The text in the Notes column in the upload file for the record that is being rejected is only 237 characters long. I examined the raw data file with a hex editor and there are no special cahracters embedded in the column. The CSV upload was recreated but the false error remains.
Any ideas what to check? Any suggestion appreciated.
