Might be a simple one, but i need it.
As far as i know, when a library or exe has build time dependency on another shared library:
It keeps the name of the shared library in its table somewhere and uses the symbol name of the function or variable which it requires.
If its an archive library then it copies the stuff it requires.
I am facing a issue where a shared library has added/changed some variables in some functions, there is no change in implementation.
This function is used by many other libraries and executables.
Now the problem is, the end library/exe which uses that library is different in Solaris in terms of size/checksum or both, but same in Linux.
What can be the reason?

Providing the whole discription is out of my scope.
I can tell you the synopsis.
We have 3 modules: A, B & C.
A creates shared libraries, B & C create both libraries and executables.
B & C both use the libraries created by A.
No code has changed in B & C, only some enhacements have been done in A. No change in implementations.
Now the libs & exe of B & C have changed in all platforms name sol, hp, aix & sgi except linux in terms of size/checksum or both.
We have a post-build utility which does this comaprison for internal use using MD5 checksum and size.
I belong to the build team.
Now, people are after me why nothing has changed in linux platform except for the libraries of A, as in all other platforms B & C have changed.
How can i satisfy them for this?

There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.

Updating software on one computer but register/library on another one?

I just purchased a new Nano and, having dial up internet at the house and having just seen my kids setting up their new Nano's this Christmas, I expect to spend the next few days downloading and updating the software on this Nano(Why doesn't it come with updated software is another question). But I was wondering, can I use a computer (with iTunes) at work that has a very fast connection to update the software on the Nano but NOT register it on this work computer?

You don't need to register an iPod for it to work and you can use it on multiple computers so you can use your work computer any time you want to update it. If you choose to register it, once that's done you won't be required to register it again on another computer. One thing you need to be aware of though is that if you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply:

How do I combine part of one iPhoto library with another one?

Somehow back in January I ended up with three iPhoto libraries. Since then all my photos have been imported to a library that is filled with garbage, Faces thumbnails, duplicate pictures, etc. From this "garbage" library I want to move what has been imported since January and move it to the clean one I somehow lost track of back then. Then I'll have one good contiguous library and can get rid off the "garbage" one once and for all.
I want to get this done before I upgrade to Lion and iPhoto 2011.
I've wasted a lot of time trying to figure this out on my own. Please help!

iPhoto doesn't have a library manager built in. Take a look at Fat Cat Software's iPhoto Library Manager.

The most straightforward seems to be: hold Ctrl and Left-Click on the Reload button. You could also Middle-click on the Reload button (e.g. "click" with the mouse wheel, if you have a wheel-mouse.) The thread above also has some other options.
Edit: you could also hold Ctrl and drag a tab next to itself to clone it, another suggestion from the above thread.

Losing One iPod Library for Another One

A couple of years ago, a good friend gave me his 20G iPod, more or less as a Christmas gift, after he bought a newer version. It was only about 20% full and the "Purchased Music" playlist was very small compared to the rest of the library which were all CD imports. Although there were many songs that overlapped with my CD collection, the fact they were already on the iPod was a tremendous import timesaver. However, there were several unique musical selections I didn't have which were very enjoyable, enlightening, yada, yada....
I have since built up my iTunes Library on my old iMac G3 with a modestly large "Purchased Music" collection along with many more CD imports which I wanted to transfer to the iPod. However, there is apparently no way to do this without completely erasing the music already on the iPod, getting rid of some of the unique music I wanted to keep.
Is there NO way to transfer my music library selections to the iPod without losing what is already there????

Cannot resolve symbol error when compiling a class that calls another class

I've read all the other messages that include "cannot resolve symbol", but no luck. I've got a small app - 3 classes all in the same package. BlackjackDAO and Player compile OK, but BlackjackServlet throws the "cannot resolve symbol" (please see pertinent code below)...
I've tried lots: ant and javac compiling, upgrading my version of tomcat, upgrading my version of jdk/jre, making sure my servlet.jar is being seen by the compiler (at least as far as I can see from the -verbose feedback)...any help would be GREAT! Thanks in advance...

Form exits when calling another form

I have a form that passes parameters to another form. When creating new records and then calling the other form, it works fine. However, when coming from a post query and then passes parameters to a new form, the form exits upon calling of the other form. What causes this? Thanks for your help. I am using Forms Developer 6.0

My form is intermittent, when creating new records, sometimes the other form is called and parameters are passed but sometimes nothing happens and there are no errors. But from post query, calling another form and passing parameters exits the calling form and the called form does not show up. This form calls another form and passes some parameters without problems but when I tried to call another one, those scenarios happen. I am confused because the codes on both my When-Button-Pressed trigger are 100% similar. I dont know why this happens on this one and NEVER on the other. I hope you understand my query. Thanks a lot for responding. Please help.

[SOLVED] Bash: pkill a process after exiting from another one?

Hi there, I use a program which calls another one, but when I close the first one, the second one is not closed automatically even if not anymore needed, so I have to do it manually.
I tried a classic:
firstprogram
pkill secondprogram
but, of course, this script closes immediately the secondprogram.
So, what I supposed to do?

I recently transfered everything from my emac to another one but now when I try to open iTunes I get the window that states: The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.

The computer I transfered to had a bunch of files on it and I got full ownership of what was already there, so, how do I get to my iTunes library, I do have access as an administrator to the iTunes library (that works just fine) already there and I guess I must have had a newer version ofiTunes on my defunt eMac....

Tell us some version numbers please, of your Mac OS versions and iTunes versions on both computers (two eMacs yes?).
