When I enter a new contact in my Mac Book Pro, it does not show up in my new iPod touch 5. What am I doing wrong?

I thought my ipod touch contacts would be up loaded when I enter them in my Mac Book Pro while I am connected to the internet. Do I have to hard wire syn to get the contacts up loaded from my Mac to my ipod touch 5?

Ok go to "Finder" preferences and make sure the "Hard disk" box is checked.
That will make your boot disk show up in the upper right corner. You can tell it's a boot disk because all the files will look like this instead of just being blank files.

It was telling you that you needed Mac OS 10.6.8 or later, not itunes 10.6.8

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

How to show the pdf from the iPad in the new iBooks on the Mac Book Pro?

I have several books in PDF format on my iPad 4 but for some reason they persistently REFUSE to appear in the iBooks on my Mac book Pro (haven't checked the iPhones). The new iBooks brags that we can ontinue reading our books where we left from one device to the other, and since most of my interesting books are in PDF, how can I access this feature? What if I create a book with a iBook creator, will it show?

I figured it out (for me anyway) for syncing via USB or WiFi.
My PDFs in iBooks Mac weren't showing up in iBooks iOS & this is how I fixed it - it's syncing seamlessly now
I went to iTunes for Mac
Clicked on my device e.g. iPad
Clicked on 'Books' from along the menu that says 'Summary - Apps - Tones' etc.
Ticked the 'Sync Books' checkbox
Selected the 'All books' button, making sure that under the menu ('Books') I had selected 'Books and PDF files'
And then pressed the sync button at the bottom right of iTunes. It worked.
It's a 'set it and forget it solution' - after doing this I no longer need to interact with iTunes for syncing PDFs & books. Even when I rename collections on iBooks Mac, it transfers seamlessly across to iBooks on my iPad/iPhone via Wi-Fi.
Hope that helps - it certainly wasn't obvious to me.

Four transfers. After the initial attempt with Migration Assistant failed (after hours and hours of wifi transfer) I did "mini-transfers" of more manageable, smaller bits of files -- my music in one, photos in another, etc. Since posting my question in this forum, i contacted Apple support, chatted with Angela, and she suggested getting an ethernet-USB adapter for my mac, connecting my external drive with ethernet and transferring files manually -- that is, NOT using the Migration Assistant at all. Thank you very much for your answer! I have 2 Apple ID, and I have tried both of them and the problem continues. I founf several peolpe with the same problem in apple communities foruns and that really seems that there is some problem. I addded the links for 2 of those discussions.

This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

Good to know that, but what can I do to get the mail and contacts downloaded from Icloud onto my Iphone? I am told that the password needs to be reset and I have erased and reset it 3x's already? Should I Restore All Settings or Restore Network Settings or will that result in a situation where I have to have it re-unlocked again? GRACIAS!

Everything that you sync to the iPad is done through iTunes or from downloading from the cloud if they are iTunes purchases or through iTunes Match, if subscribed.
It is also not possible to transfer music or certain other files though Bluetooth between other iPhones or Android devices. You can transfer between iOS devices, pictures through devices that are Airdrop capable.
