When I have an email with an attachment, I can now only "save" the attachment. How can I open before I decide if I want to save?
I used to have an option to "open" attachments as well as "save" them. This ability has disappeared and I am unable to just "open" an attachment, or a form, for that matter, on a website. I can only "save". I have no idea why I can no longer "open" anything. How do I get this option again? I have tried settings for Mozilla and I don't see it there.
Very sad, am I.

It is not a webpage that I have trouble with, it is attachments to emails; both text and photos.

My provider has tried to help but unable, they stated it is the problem with Firefox. I have updated Adobe reader several times with no luck. When I send an email with an attachment larger than 1 MB from iMail, the email gets suck in the sent folder. This happens no matter if I am using wireless or using an ethernet connection.
Many email programs, including Mail, will send data up to a certain size.
The good new - there are some solutions. You can compress the file and make the email much faster to send; you can download a free application like Compress, which also allows you to uncompress. Or, you can send your email via your webmail connection (your ISP, like ATT); if you manage your email through your desktop computer, the email should be sent just fine.
Apple Mail is designed for smaller documents, well under 1mb. -
Recently installed Mavericks. Now when I send an email with picture attachment it is received by my gmail account but not received by applel mail. What gives?

When I get an email with a file attachment it is automatically saved to the hard drive. Is there a way to stop that from happening?
To change that setting go to Mail>Preferences>Accounts>"Advanced" box over in the upper right side of the window>in the line below that that says "Keep Copies of Messages for Offline Viewing:",click on the drop down arrows at the right end of that box just below it and select the phrase "All Messages, but Not Attachments". I am using Firefox and have used Firefox in the past. This just started to occur extremely recently. I have never had a problem with this in the past. When I attach a document in an email, it seems fine, even after I send it. However, the person doesnt get the option to download or view the attachment. It shows the paper clip as if there was an attachment, but there is no way to open it. Has this happened to anyone else or if you have some advice I would greatly appreciate some of your help.
Please do not type in all caps, that is considered shouting and we can hear you just fine.
This is a MS Office issue, I'd suggest taking it up with Microsoft or a MS Office forum. -
I want the 1K emails I could have on my iPad 2. Can't figure out how to do this on my new Air.
I had an iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.1. In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars selection and within it a Mail section. Within the Mail section i could choose to show anywhere from 50 - 1!000 messages. In my new iPad Air with iOS 7.1 i have no such option and it seems to max out at 240 meassages.
I have 1,209 earhlink emails on my old iPad dating back to Novemeber, on my new iPad i have 250 going back through March.
Is ther a setting i can chane to got the others? Do they live in the cloud somewhere and i just dont know how to use it?

Sharepoint Incoming Email with .msg attachment,Attachment missing

I have a document library confogured to allow incoming emails.My environment is Moss 2007 sp1. When i send an email with an attachment of type doc or pdf or zip. The attachments are there in the document library.
If i send an email with a .msg file (outlook 2003) as attachment, the attachment goes missing. I Stopped the Timer service and sent an email and the email was available in the drop folder.If i open the email from the drop folder i can see that my attachment
is there.Now if i start the Sharepoint timer service the email body is available in the document library but the attachment is Missing. This issue is happening only with attachments of type .msg.
Please could you help with this issue.This is the default behavior when you email enable a document library.
If you want to save the original email as well.
Go to the Document Library Settings
Followed by Incoming email Settings.
On the Incoming email settings page in the Email Message section.
Choose Yes for Save original email? and click
OK.
Now if you send any new email with attachment, you will be able to see both the Attachment & original email in the document librabry. Hope that helps.

I have Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook and PSE 13. I have used the "Share photos as embedded images" feature frequently, but today when I went to use it, it wasn't there, only the option to send email with files attached. How do I get back the ability to send emails with photos embedded. I like adding the frames and backgrounds and I think it's easier for recipients to look at the photos. Thanks for any suggestions of things to try.
GailI had a similar problem in that my wife's iphone 5 could not send pics with imessage. Had to set the settings to default to SMS or whatever. After laboring many hours on the web I coincidentally was on the phone with the internet people to question my internet speed. They changed the router channel, which is something that I am capable of doing myself. After that, the pics go over imessage. My own Iphone didn't have the problem. We are both latest IOS 7.0.6.

I have an iPad air and have downloaded the microsoft app excel. I have an email with an excel attacment. When I "tap to download" the attachment, it automatically converts to a PDF file and opens as a "view only" document. I want it to open with the excel app so I can see and update the spreadsheet. Please help. Thanks!
If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.

I am unable to send an email with an attachment I created in Pages version 5.0.1. It also prevented me from sending out any other emails with or without an attachment. I finally fixed my email so I could send out again but when I tried to send an attachment created in Pages it wouldn't allow it. Can someone help me, please! Thanks!
Pages 5 is having problems with GMail, Google and Yahoo. Dropbox may have fixed their problem with an update.
Along with this problem and others, Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

When I try to send an email with photo attachment on my iPad a screen appears which states " the sender is not recognized by the server" . What do I have to change so I can always send emails fr om my iPad with or without attachments. I am a novice!!!!!!
If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

I have Firefox 6.0 running under Windows XL. When I forward an email with a URL in it, my recipients tell me the URL is not highlighted and they have to cut and paste it into their browser. Why? How can I get my forwarded URLs to be highlighted?
If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

when I send an email with a photoshop file attached, the recipient receives it "flattened". How do I change this?
I've sent psd files to various people without issues, however you might want to try something like www.filedropper.com to make sure it's not that they can't open your version of psd file.
You may also want to zip the file using the built in archiving software, simply right click (or control click) the file and choose Compress ...., then you can email it to the person as a compressed archive. That should preserve all the aspects of the file properly without any modifications.
