When i open the database using web i get error

When i open the Oracle 10g database by clinching on the Datacontrol - OPSENV, i get the following message
Failed to Connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at tci06597.ad.trinityconsultants.com:5500.
Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.
* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
I created this yesterday and it worked fine then and today morning. I do not know why this happens. The other database i was using developed the same problem and i deleted and recreated this new one.

If you plan to share or work with people who regulary use MS Excel you should not try to use this in Numbers. You will have constant problems with how each program translates the formatting.
If you want to use Numbers, use it exclusively. If it is for your job use the tool your company uses.

I would like to enable the database-native Web service end point in Oracle XML DB and I already execute the script to create Web Service Endpoint.

Test if you can access the generic WSDL using a browser
http://server:port/orawsv?wsdlYou should get prompted for a username and password. If you provide the username and password of a database user who was been granted the Web Services Roles you should see the query service WSDL

On the profile folder in windows you can right click on the folder and uncheck the "run as an administrator"

Looking at what you have posted, all that I can reply is
ORA-00603: ORACLE server session terminated by fatal error
Cause: An ORACLE server session is in an unrecoverable state.
Action: Login to ORACLE again so a new server session will be created

OutofMemory Error while sending file to database using Web services

I have a file of 30MB to be written to the MySQL database. I am doing this in Axis web services and it gives me the following error:
(I am using Tomcat as the application server and Apache as the web server, Axis 1.3 and MySQL standard 5.0.21 version. I have set the minimum and maximum heap size and it works well without using the web service (just uploading and downloading from the database using a simple java program). Another thing to notice is that I can send a file of almost 10MB size to the database using web service without any problem. But it doesn't work with the 30 MB .)

Sorry for the delayed response here, forget to add it to my watchlist. I didn't catch if you were using Java 1.5 or not. Prior to 1.5 the default maximum heap space was 64MB which with the overhead of the appserver might be your problem.
Take a look at http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/vm/gc-ergonomics.html and the java -Xmx <size> command line option to change the default (I believe the size argument is in bytes, but don't hold me to that). I think you can pass that as a command line option to the startup script, but you should check the doco to see if it needs to be wrapped in some other arg etc.,
I seem to recall running into this same problem a few years back when I had a servlet doing some intense graphics processing on the fly and setting this option fixed the problem.

Problem with Opening the Database

Dear All,
I am learning myself Backup And Recovery.
I messed up with Redo Log files and now the database is not opening.
What actually I did is
1) I got 2 redo log groups with I member file in each group.
Group 1 (redo1) & Group 2(redo 2)
2) Then I shutdown the database "Shutdown Normal"
3) Then I removed the one redo log files. (redo 1) "rm redo1"
4) Now I tried to open the database. It didnot opened as redo 1 is not available
5) Now I Added one group 3 when the database is in mount mode (alter database add logfile group 3 ...)
6) Now when I tried to drop the redo log file, I am getting the below error
ORA-01623 log 1 is current log for instance orcl (thread 1) - cannot drop.
7) So Now I am not able to open the database
Can Anyone please help me out.

Madhu,
Can you try recreating the controlfile ? All it does is resets the redologs (reinitializes them). There wont be any dataloss. You can open the database using "alter database open resetlogs" after you recreate the controlfile.
Have you looked into the backup and recovery case scenarios. They covered loss of redologs also.
Since you are learning by yourself, i hope you are following Official Oracle guides. They are your bible when you practice things for the first time.

Newbie: trying to open a database using SQLPLUS, ORA errors

Installed 10g (and latest patch) on Suse10.2. When I try to startup the database using SQLPLUS I get this:

I check the alertlog:

Well, Oracle was not the user, but I have changed that now. But now I get this instead:
